Checking in was quick, the room spacious, comfortable and clean. There was a problem with noisy air conditioning, but it was resolved. Beautiful roof-top sitting area and bar. I did not like the parking arrangement. It would be better to include parking for hotel guests in the room rate.

Brand new and in a hot spot for dining and bars. Hard to find good hotels in Marin county and this was such a pleasant surprise. The gym is wonderful too I would have stayed in there all day if I had the time.

2nd time staying here and plan on being back in October. Only issue was the EV chargers were difficult to use due to non-EV vehicles parked there!

We were traveling for a wedding and only booked for one night. We arrived to the hotel a few hours before check in. The staff was really friendly and were able to accommodate us and checked us in early. The room was really nice and the location was nice to. Close to a lot of restaurants. The fitness center was nice as well with great equipment. The only thing we didn't like was the parking availability. Parking is limited, especially at night time and it is not free. Still i think that might be common for thr area, not entirely sure. Still a great hotel. 5 stars

No parking available when I arrived at 1 am. That’s fair but not the worst. Charging me for parking after I told them I hadn’t parked was even more frustrating. The bathroom also smelled of urine.

The rain showerhead was tilted the wrong way so after finishing there was a huge puddle of water almost out to the bed. We adjusted it. Then the safe which worked fine at first wouldn't open. It kept saying error. The first girl couldn't fix it so I had to wait for someone else to take it apart. Then I came back at 4pm and our room was still not made up. Not a good first experience for our initial stay at your hotel.

Really beautiful, modernist design inside and out, with spacious rooms featuring floor-to-ceiling windows (and views of the surrounding hills if you're on an upper floor), and an equally generous lobby, with full bar. Even more so, staff were friendly and helpful, and the entire facility was absolutely spotless. Very reminiscent of hotels in Europe and, at the reasonable rates, we will definitely return!

Great new hotel, everything is clean. They lack the number of parking spaces to rooms so we had to park off site once. They have a large breakfast buffet each morning. There is also a rooftop area which happened to be closed when we stayed. Maybe next time!.

Property was walkable, clean, and friendly staff. Did not like that the bathroom door had a 4-6 inch gap at the top and bottom, it felt more like a bathroom stall in a public restroom.

The Roon looks nice, clean and modern. But this is my second time staying here and it is was noisy hotel because you can hear your neighbors above waking. So If they wake up at 3 am to go to the restroom you will hear it, if someone is in the hallway talking, opening their door, you will hear everything. The hotel is made of cardboard- the room have all hard surfaces which look good but then there is no insulation to help the noise, no rugs, nothing in the walls to help contain the noise- the side table next the bed is locked in place and it is uncomfortably far from the bed- Basic interior design mistake. The air conditioner does not get cold enough the vent is by the door… the air does not get to the room. Love the rooftop bar and the service is good. I wish it was not noisy because San Rafael needs a good hotel.

Overall, comfortable, modern and clean… I would’ve appreciated a true blackout room. Curtains are not sufficient to block sun. Also, the bathroom is like a stall, so there’s a gap at the bottom and at the top… Anyone going with a significant other who prefers to have their privacy in the bathroom may want to look into that before committing. Would be way more likely to book if I need a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and cold plunge.

It’s a beautiful property but the floors are wood between the floors so you hear everything above you. Too bad because they invested a lot in the place but they forgot to include soundproofing.

My stay at the hotel was great! The staff was very welcoming and made my birthday celebration extra special. They even gave me a hand written card and balloons. I highly recommend this hotel. It is in a great location that is walkable to good restaurants and breweries.

The hotel is very modern and the room was spacious, clean, and had a nice view of the mountains. However, when booking through Expedia I was charged the nightly room rate and a room deposit. When I checked into the hotel, I was charged a second time for the room, and again for the room deposit. It has been a nightmare trying to get this billing issue resolved. Being charged $655 for a one night stay is ridiculous. I probably wouldn't stay again due to this issue.

So many hidden fees. Front desk staff are very rude and do not like to help. Only the manager, Dominic, was able to assist and help me with my needs. I do NOT recommend this location to anyone unless if you like to pay extra unnecessary money that they do not disclose upfront.

I paid for my two night stay through Expedia before arriving. When I checked in I was asked to pay an incidental fee on my card for $100. The transaction for $100 went through. I got my key and while in the elevator heading up to my room I get a notification that the front desk had charged the card I used for the incidental fee for the entire two night stay. This was done in its own transaction and not linked to the $100 incidental fee. I immediately go to the desk. They said it was an accident and the charge was reversed. Guess what? I still have nearly $500 pending out of my bank account that I can’t use because of this. My bank told me it would take up to 30 business days for the money to go back into my account. I’m so pissed! That’s a lot of money! It ruined my entire stay. I was so angry the whole time bc I needed that $500 while I was there. The worst!

We were put on the second floor facing the street. In addition to the gunshots we heard around 1:30 am there were people in the room above us and they were so loud it was impossible to sleep. It sounded like they were running and stomping. We did try to address this with the front desk and nothing was done. They must have had a flight to catch because finally around 4 am we heard suitcases being rolled around and then it was quiet for about two hrs until the construction delivery trucks showed up to a job site around the corner. Beeping, loud crashing metal sounds with all the material being unloaded. Then there was the homeless woman shouting at the construction workers for making too much noise. She was directly under our window and was talking to herself. I felt like we were on a prank show or something but we weren’t. It was absolutely rediculous!! The noise made this staycation comepletely unbearable. I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a good nights sleep. The fact that we were put into a handicap suite was also not ideal. Perhaps it amplified the noise further due to the flooring. There was nothing to absorb the sound. It was stark and sterile. I wish we had gotten what was advertised and the room looked nothing like what I reserved through Expedia online.

They must have had a flight to catch because finally around 4 am we heard suitcases being rolled around and then it was quiet for about two hrs until the construction delivery trucks showed up to a job site around the corner. Beeping, loud crashing metal sounds with all the material being unloaded. Then there was the homeless woman shouting at the construction workers for making too much noise. She was directly under our window and was talking to herself. I felt like we were on a prank show or something but we weren’t. It was absolutely rediculous!! The noise made this staycation comepletely unbearable. I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a good nights sleep. The fact that we were put into a handicap suite was also not ideal. Perhaps it amplified the noise further due to the flooring. There was nothing to absorb the sound. It was stark and sterile. I wish we had gotten what was advertised and the room looked nothing like what I reserved through Expedia online.

It's a nice, clean, modern hotel with an amazing shower. However, when we checked in we were told we couldn't park in the underground hotel parking lot, which is where my car was parked, because the lost was booked. We were asked to park in the public lot around the corner. At 11:30 pm there were six open spots in the hotel lot. We also had trouble communicating with the front desk clerk and the housekeeping staff.

We arrived at the Hotel early, knowing we could not check in yet, the clerk took my cell number and advised they would call when the room was available. We went out and walked around for 2 to 3 hrs., once back in the lobby we had a conversation with a lady for 20 to 30 minutes. Now its been about 4 hours and I look at the front desk and people are checking in, I get in line and go up to the counter and ask about my room availability and the guy says its ready and I could check in, I mentioned that I was waiting a call to advise me of this, and that it had been 3 to 4 hours since I checked in. Just at this moment my cell phone text message alert goes off and the message says my room is available, REALLY. The guys says he was sorry for the inconvenience. There was also a lot of street noise, people and traffic. If I was to go back I would request a room on the interior side of the building, I think I would also look into other accommodation options in the area.

Great location. Lots of restaurants and shops in walking distance. Overall 4 stars because the room we booked, they had over booked and we did not get the junior suite we booked. None the less, our room was still nice and clean.

My husband and I stayed here just for one night to have a little getaway. Downtown San Rafael is so cute and there are lots of bars, restaurants, shops and things to do. We got here early before check in and was happy when we found out that a room was available. Everyone was so nice, from the reception to the bartender to the cleaning staff. Our room was clean, organized well and cozy. There is an outside hang out area with Apple fire places and a lovely atmosphere.

We were put on the second floor facing the street. In addition to the gunshots we heard around 1:30 am there were people in the room above us and they were so loud it was impossible to sleep. It sounded like they were running and stomping. We did try to address this with the front desk and nothing was done. The stay was amazing. Brunch at the roof top bar the hotel is very clean and smells amazing . There was always someone cleaning and deodorizing. The beds were soft and rooms were nice

The first room had helicoper landing sound like from the roof top. They replaced with more quieter room but looking for quiet room was an effort and issue. Breakfast is just a unedible. Very cheap ingridients breakfasst for the price of good restaurant. Parking is too small for the capacity. Nice building but it has many broken AC features on the floors. Unhealthy humming noises on 4th floor by elevator.

Great new hotel, everything is clean. They lack the number of parking spaces to rooms so we had to park off site once. They have a large breakfast buffet each morning. There is also a rooftop area which happened to be closed when we stayed. Maybe next time!.

The front desk service wasn't very good. I wanted a map of the hotel so I could find the restaurants in relation to my room, and there was none. The check in person said, "I can print you one once we are finished checking you in." After we finished, I reminded her of the map. She pointed to the elevators and said there was a map there and to take a picture of it. It was an evacuation map. Not a map of where to find amenities. I was not given a wifi code. Exhausted from traveling, I asked random guests I ran into on the way to my room how to access food in the hotel and was finally pointed in the right direction. I ordered oysters, steak brushetta, and carrot hummus to take back to my room. The oysters were inedible. The others were just okay. I wanted a night in to prepare for a meeting with mindless t.v. while prepping, and the t.v. pixelated horribly. Everything else was nice. The room itself was very nice. For over $300 just for the room (basic king room), and about $100 per person for subpar tapas, I would recommend shopping around. Next time I might try 4 Points hotel nearby.

It's San Rafael's best secret, a 3 star that acts like a 5 star. Room amenities and sheets for a king. Nightly cheese and dessert are amazing. I always love staying here and always come back.

Best hotel in Marin County, contemporary design, high quality overall. Better than the ogg to we Marriotts in the area. Better than Hilton in Dan Rafael. Customized, personalized, boutique hotels. Optimal location in downtown San Rafael with having couple excellent restaurant nearby such as well know Il Davide in the area. Midway SF and Sonoma. For those who pay attention to detail and style , unmatched European sleekness and eqsuitite quality fabrics inside took me, lobby etc with beautiful rooftop terrace. Overall if you have friends visiting from abroad put them in this place. A bit pricy, would be great if they offer packages with some discounts . Overall unmatched for Baron by all standards coming frok a picky customer,
