Hotel Riu Baobab - All Inclusive

This hotel is on a lovely beach about 90 minutes outside of Dakar. It’s a new property with great amenities. The buffet had a lot of variety and food was good. There were a lot of activities from water yoga to kayaking to peddle boats. The beach was very swim able with gentle waves. I wanted to acknowledge Erica at the front desk for fantastic service.

We has a bautiful familiy vacation, the nightly entertainments were spectacular. The food was amazing too. It really is an all inclusive experience(breakfast, lunch dinner, entertainment, pools, water park, beach front, and ruiland for the kids).

I was lucky to stay during a quiet time, as I know the hotel can get busy. It was lovely and peaceful. The pools are fabulous, the grounds well kept and the beach area beautiful. I found the buffets very mediocre and the food in then Steakhouse underwhelming. I loved my massage in the tranquil spa. I don’t like to listen to music and there was often loud music from exercise classes, entertainment and the pools. At night, it went on quite late. I would definitely go back as it’s a very comfortable place to stay.

Bel hôtel récent, grand et on ne se sent pas serré malgré le nombre de chambres. Restauration très bonne et variée. les activités proposées par l'équipe d'animation est varié et ils sont très sympas. 3 piscines permettent de choisir son ambiance.

Very modern property with many amenities for a comfortable stay. There have been more than 3 times where the electricity went out for a short time. With respect to A/C it is centralized, therefore not providing the customer with an option to increase or decrease the temperature. Beside these nuisance I had a wonderful stay short of five star service. I’ll visit again !

I did not like the staff and the way they take care the client.the pool for my daughter 17 years was cold water . Bad experience

À l’arrivée, un fond de gel douche pour la première journée, puis plus jamais rempli. La douche est équipée d’un simple pommeau, pas de douche pluie comme on en trouve dans les établissements qui se respectent. Au buffet, c’est la foule en permanence, et pour accéder aux restaurants, il faut réserver et insister lourdement : au final, seulement deux sur quatre étaient accessibles, les autres étant pris d’assaut ou fermés. Les piscines sont bien, sauf celle avec le bar, beaucoup trop petite pour accueillir tout le monde. Côté animation, les animateurs sont très sympathiques et l’accueil s’est bien passé, avec un homme très professionnel et accueillant. Les bars sont corrects, mais les cocktails sont de simples mélanges inventés, pas de vrais cocktails. Les spectacles sont dans l’ensemble réussis, avec une belle scène. La discothèque est en revanche trop petite et mal configurée : rien pour s’asseoir normalement et confortablement. Le splash world est un vrai plus, mais déjà certains carreaux se détachent dans les piscines. La salle de sport existe, mais elle se limite à un petit rack de 4 machines, dont 2 étaient

Excellent hôtel offrant une très belle prestation . Cadre magnifique on souhaite le meilleur équipe o top . Les sushis sont pas top peuvent s’améliorer cocktail parc aquatique pour enfants et adultes c’est mon 1re hall inclusive tjr eu de mauvais éco la je recommande .

The food, the room, the wate park, the swimming pools are great! Great entertainment too with the senegal music and dance night. The front desk at checking could be improved.

Bugs in swim up pool

The staff aren’t that welcoming and looked very stiff, especially at the restaurant Yassa.They don’t smile or even great you accordingly and never ask if we need something. At occasion, I would ask for a beverage and the staff member would simply point me the dispensers and doesn’t bother bring it over as I was in the middle of my meal. However, a huge shout out to the staff member DIARRA SARR. She was the only staff member with an acceptable client service. She was very welcoming and engaging. Overall, the staff needs more training when it comes to client servicing. Cleanliness wise, the hotel can do a better job as I noticed molds on the shower walls and a lots of ants in the toilets. The staff do not know how to properly clean the mirrors as there was tissu or fabric residue on them. My biggest chock has been a flooding in the bathroom after the rain. My friend almost fell to break her neck as she unexpectedly stepped into water as she woke up and tried to use the toilet.Then, I literally was mopping the bathroom floor at 6am on Sunday. Even on Friday night after the rain, when I reached my room, I noticed that the floor by the right side of the closet and the refrigerator was wet. Overall it was quite disappointing for a 5 Stars ⭐️ hotel.

Superbe séjour dans l'ensemble. On reviendra sûrement, mais le seul bémol c'est la présence de moustiques dans notre chambre.

There were roaches in my room 238 and the bed wasn’t study! No variety in the food No shrimp just fish For breakfast no local food ( lakh) Thanks

Hello. We really enjoyed our time, kids and I were super duper happy. The room could be cleaner, honestly (hairs on the covers, spider nets behind the toilet's door, ants on the sofa...) . But overall, it was a good experience.

This property sees very few Americans so the language barrier was very tough, but overall I thought the staff was quite rude. Translations took a few tries to understand and at one point the tour desk mocked me. I wanted to sit by the window during dinner but I had to move because as one person I wasn’t allowed to sit at a table for 4 even though it was not crowded and was told to move. Some of the staff were kind but many were dismissive. The room was ok, it was pretty hot and we didn’t have much control over the AC, the shower took a while to warm up. The food was the biggest complaint, but all inclusive usually has bad food. We were even more disappointed to find out the two restaurants that required reservations were also buffets. My last straw was, at the store we bought snacks for our upcoming flight back, and after purchasing many items and about the leave the lady had the audacity to ask me if I had bought the fan that I already came in the store with. As a Black American the last place I thought I would be accusing of stealing would be Africa. Honestly, I found the European guests kinder than the staff. Unfortunate, but I don’t understand how this would ever be considered a 5 star hotel.

Pour un hôtel 5 étoiles de tour opérateur la prestation générale est bonne. Très belle plage, sable fin , entretenue. Le personnel sympathique Bémol sur l’humidité de la chambre. Pas de chaussons ni d’accessoires de toilette ( rasoir, brosse à dents) même à l’accueil

Super séjour, personnel très sympa et souriant. Petit point négatif (chambre 312) 2 grands lits et non un grand lit simple, ce qui peut être embetant en couple. J'avais mis une note que nous venions pour l'annibersaire de mon fiancé mais rien n'a été fait, aucune attention, un peu decevant. Nous nous sommes fait sortir du lit à 2 reprises à 9h du matin par le service d'étage nous avons dit de venir plus tard mais elles ont dit qu'elles doivent faire la chambre maintenant.. Sur l'ensemble tout était super, juste la qualité des boissons qui n'était pas vraiment au rendez-vous. Sur la globalité c'est un grand oui et nous reviendrons

Nous avions réservé un lit double , à la place nous avons eu 2 lits jumeaux, nous avons appelé à plusieurs reprises pour changer cela avec des promesses que ce sera fait pendant 4jours c’est resté dans cet état. Beaucoup d’insectes la nuit dans les couloirs ouverts vers l’extérieur et sur les murs. Sinon de manière général c’était sympa, personnel accueillant!

Fiz a reserva para 2 adultos e 1 criança de 3 anos, no check in fui cobrado pela criança e no quarto só tinha cama king-size, nem sequer tinha cama para criança ou sofá cama.

A very beautiful resort with great rooms. Everything was perfect but the food was average or below average. It’s also a pity that the wine is so bad that it’s undrinkable.

Average at Best! Front Desk: lacks adequate English speaking service agents. I understand it's located in a foreign country, but there should be at least one multilingual personnel on duty during each shift. Buffet: plenty of section but lacks quality. Restuarants: This was truly a shock. Each specialty restaurant is basically the buffet on a smaller scale. There is no a la carte menu. There is no need to visit or waste time making a reservation. Just go to the buffet. The grill chicken by the pool was actually not bad and made up for the lack luster lunch buffet selections. Rooms: The rooms were clean, and housekeeping was adequate. They can provide better quality towels. The towels are very small and thin. You will need to request additional towels. You're better off getting fresh towels from the pool to use for your evening showers and then exchanging them the next day. The Pool: The pool with the bar can get very crowded but there are other pools that are enjoyable and not crowded. The beach: nothing to write home about. It's a small stretch. If you walk up further out, the beach has litter everywhere. The water had seaweed but was enjoyable but not the best. If you're looking to cut calories and drop a few pounds, this is the place for you!! Overall, just try another beach resort that is located in Saly.

Check in was rushed and a little unprofessional. They collected our information and charged my card for the property tax. They then tied the bracelets around our wrists and handed me an envelope with the room info printed. Any other information that was provided to us (directions to our room, help with our luggage, etc.) was a rushed answer to our questions. What really pissed me off was the fact that they omitted to include in the envelope two red cards that we were supposed to use to check out pool towels. I only found out about the need to have those cards when I embarrassed myself showing up at the pool with my room towel whereas everybody else has a pinkish, and larger towel. When I asked a hotel employee, he told me that I was supposed to have a red card to check out such towels. I went to the front desk and was told that the reason I did not receive the cards is probably because they ran out when I checked in. They could at least inform me of the situation. On 6/19/2023 while I was napping with my wife after lunch, we were suddenly woken up by an employee that let himself into our room in order to put water in refrigerator. We both jumped because we were undressed and he did not announce himself prior to badging in. I am very disappointed at the level of service we received and I am even suspecting that everyone is not treated the same over there. Definitely not a 5-star hotel.

Booked this hotel for 9 nights. Check-in went well and our room was beautiful. All of our interactions with staff were great. My biggest complaint is the food. I’ve travelled all over the world and have had wonderful experiences at RIU brand resorts hence why I was open to staying at the the Senegal location. My one and only complaint is all about the FOOD! Buffet food is buffet food at no point do i expect top tier when it comes to buffet. However i do expect flavors of the country I am in. The Senegal section was abysmal. It was a poor representation of the delicious foods and cuisine Senegal is known for. I ate at local spots in the area and then also in Dakar and the Gambia. In comparison to the so called Senegal section of the buffet it wasn’t even a contest. I would ask that management consider hiring people who indeed know how to cook true Senegalese dishes. My last comment re: food are the specialty restaurants. No one wants to put on beautiful garments and have an evening out at the buffet. It’s understandable for the main restaurant but to not have to cook to order on the speciality restaurants is substandard for the money that your guest are paying. Due to our disappointment with the food we ended up planning an impromptu trip to the Gambia for a couple nights just to get a break from the holiday crowd and bad food. Sidebar: the Gambia was great definitely visit if you can. Again, the staff at the hotel are amazing. The property is well kept and beautiful.

Hôtel en All Inclusive idéal pour qq jours en famille ou entre amis. Il y a de quoi plaire à tous le monde petits et grands. Buffets excellents

The hotel itself is beautiful but the food could not be any worse. I actually got food poisoning on the second day of this trip because of how bad it was. If you are cultured at all, you will not enjoy the food. The room was nice, views were nice, but food is too important. After day 2, I just stopped eating. I heard it’s still new so hopefully they can resolve this.
