Halifax Inn

Let me begin by saying the room in which we stayed was large, well-furnished, and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay there again. The property texted us ahead of time with our room number and the entry code, so we never had to visit the office at all, which I appreciated. The only unfortunate part of our stay was the first impression given by the property. The directions to room 117 were correct, but because we were new to the area and the motel, we did not clearly understand how to get to our room. The directions said to the right of the office, and down a few stairs to the tan building in the back. But there was another set of stairs to the right leading down, and we were unsure where to go when we arrived. Eventually I drove around to the back and everything became much clearer. The motel is in a very rural area. The parking area is paved with gravel only, and is right next to mobile homes, the residents of which were sitting outside and watching us drive up, a somewhat unsettling feeling. But once we figured out which room was ours, and entered with no trouble using the code provided, we were all set. A coffee maker and a couple nutrition bar were provided in the room, along with one of the nicer refrigerators I have experienced in a motel room, and a microwave.

Misrepresented on hotels.com. No staff on site; knocked on variety of doors until I saw a small sign that instructed me to call a number. They opened my room remotely. Small room & right by the highway; one can hear every truck or car that goes by. No rug on floor, which was freezing when I got there. Tiny shower, no tub. No ice available. This was supposed to be a respite stop better business events, but it was confining and frustrating.

This was a lovely little hotel. Our room was ready early and check in was seamless. Our room was clean and comfortable and we even had a few bottles of water in the frig. Our little dog was welcome and the entire stay was quite reasonable. Would stay again!

The Inn was very clean and redone nicely however, coffee was expired and key punch was tricky. There were also a lot of bugs around doors and some lifted boards on deck that were tripping hazards. This place was convent to Halifax and was a nice find for the area. Regardless of the minor, easy fixes we do plan on staying there next time we visit family!

The room was indeed updated with all amenities included. However, a storm came through and we lost power. This lead us to not be able to use any of the amenities, take a shower, or flush the toilet. I guess everything ran on electric there. In turn, our stay was definitely not worth what we paid for the weekend. We left after the first night and never went back (and they didn't get their power on through the weekend either.) I think this could've been handled a bit better on the Inn's part, but it's too late now.

Great room. My only complaint is the awful smell of whatever oil that had been diffused in the room. Too overpowering. A citrus or lavender would have been less offensive. There were tiny ants too.

The room was what we needed. It sits rt on the road so traffic noise is noticeable and there’s a train track across the road we heard it twice no big deal. The room had a damp musty smell and feel we just kept bathroom fan on and that made it ok wasn’t so bad we felt the need to complain we was just there to sleep and change for wedding. Looks recently updated with microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker and few snacks. Over all served our needs.

The staff was very communicative and helpful! Room was more than expected, mega clean and comfy.

The room had a musty smell when we opened the door and the vanity water took forever to get warm. There were little fly type bugs by the vanity corner.

We stayed here one night with a plan of doing Lake Tobias Wildlife Park the next day and then continuing on our road trip to hike in Loyalsock. This was a great find, very conveniently located on the way and very close to Lake Tobias. Check-in was automatic and easy, we were given the code to our room and checked ourself in and out when we wanted. The room itself is comfortable and spotlessly clean, I commend the housekeepers. Great stay, would definitely come back.

Clean as a whistle, neat as a pin. Everything we needed in one small, cozy room. Unusually good lighting, so we could easily read in bed, which few other motels to do. And an excellent coffee machine for the morning. We will be back.

Adding hooks on the wall to hang clothes, purse, etc would help and towel rods in bathroom. The luggage bar was more in the way than useful. The AC worked though didn't seem to cool as efficient as we'd thought it might.

The room was really small, the toilet is for a toddler. Their was a chair in the room but it was rickety and felt like it would break if I sat in it.

Overall the motel was great for the price. The place was clean and while small, had everything you would need for a night or two stay. There is an issue with the windows not having blackout curtains/sound dampening. The motel is right on the road, so you can hear people driving bye. Also, the room was very bright at night and we had to take a blanket and cover the window to get sleep. If you are a heavy sleeper these issues won't bother you at all and you will have a great stay. If you are a light sleeper, download a white noise maker and bring an extra blanket to cover the window.

A unique experience in that it's similar to the old roadside motels of the heyday of car travel. The room is rather on the small side, so at most a couple would be comfortable in it, if they had no kids. It was clean, pleasant smelling, and for a night's rest it did the trick.

The property was fairly clean. Unfortunately, the room was substantially smaller than the photos indicated. When we entered the room, about 2-3 feet in front of us was the bed. There was no table and just one small chair in the corner. The sink was in the bedroom and the small bathroom was next to it. Fortunately we only needed to stay one night. The room was about 10 x 10.

Very clean room, but right on a highway and directly across from railroad tracks. A lot of noise at night. Also, the rack for hanging clothes is located right over the microwave and coffee maker. Not useable!

Very quaint motel. Entire check in was via text as door had a key pad. Initially given wrong pass code, which was frustrating, but the second one worked well. And only had a quick conversation with the owner (?) to see if i needed to sign anything before leaving in the morning. No outdoor lighting which made figuring out the door difficult. Toilets are very low and the small step at the door was hard to navigate for a 66 year old woman with arthritis, especially in the dark. Bed was very comfortable. Towels where the softest I've had at a motel in years!!! And so excited to have gluten free bath products!! That has never happened! I have celiac so that was a wonderful bonus!
