Comfort Inn & Suites Vernal - National Monument Area

The place is very poorly maintained. No ice machine working, floors were dirty with someone's dried mud through the first floor, No breakfast, treadmill wouldn't work...just ugh

The pool was nice

The hotel is pretty beat. The bathroom door knob was falling off and sink wouldnt stay on. Swimming pool had too much chlorine.

We enjoyed the pool, and being away from downtown.

Check in was a bit painful. Not sure why there are tables in front of the check in desk, but it makes it really hard to get anywhere near the staff checking you in, to get them your ID and Credit Card... nobody there and had to call on the phone to get someone there to help with check in. Also, got called back down shortly after check in saying my credit card was denied. I paid ahead of time via Expedia and the clerk showed an entirely different CC on file than any I own. Think it's and Expedia security thing, but she was not aware and did not know what to do. Called manager but not available so we just hoped it was all good. Made for a bit of a bad check in experience. Elevator was also out of service. Not a big issue for me, but those checking in behind me with large bags made it hard. And if anyone with disability had to check in, could be hard.

You have to call for staff. Not very friendly and didn’t want to get pool towels. There weren’t towels in the pool area and the pool area wasn’t clean at all.

Let me start off by saying this is not the place to stay. Starting early on with an unfriendly manager checking you in. Day 2 we blew it off and took the kids swimming, when the chlorine bag exploded and my 4 year began puking repeatedly unable to breathe. There were 9 kids in the pool that had to be transported to the ER, given breathing treatments, and be decontaminated. Manager didnt ask if anyone was okay or even care for that matter. We had to call none emergency dispatch and they evacuated the hotel. Then when we finally got to return we recieved dirty looks from said manager.

Hot tub and pool were warm. Breakfast was good.

We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We had to ask for towels at the main desk because there were not any towels in the pool area.

Price was good, but there was no attendant at desk. Had to use phone to get a person. Got into our two rooms & one had a dirty towel hanging on the shower bar & a cracked/scarred up bathroom door. Second room had a LOT of long black hair all over the bathroom floor & other debris of some sort in the corner. I usually don't make much fuss over things, but decided to go down to front desk to ask them to sanitize it. Again, I had to call on the phone & was told that we could switch rooms, but it was late at night & we were road weary. Then we were told that someone would come attend to the room right away. We waited 15 minutes & went back down to the desk phone to say that we wanted to go to bed, so not to send anyone. My husband was told that the room attendant had been called & was driving back to work to clean it. However, the night attendant himself ended up showing up at the room shortly thereafter. He cleaned the hair & used sanitizer, but the other debris was still present. He had a pleasant demeaner, so I can't fault him on that account. In the morning, when my husband used the shower, we discovered that the tub wouldn't drain, so I went to shower in the other room we had also rented. The non-slip permanent tub mat & shower curtain were stained & icky. The beds were comfy enough & sheets were clean. Overall, design of rooms & furniture were attractive. The noise from main road was a bit noisy. Not unbearable, but disappointing!

Room had stained carpets, smelled musky, had toilet paper stuck to the ceiling near the smoke detector in the main room. Coffee was cold & stale both days in the lobby and breakfast area. Further, the breakfast was sausage gravy & biscuits both days, no eggs or other proteins. Lastly, the room did not match the picture as advertised.

Little outdated. Room was spacious but not very clean. Pillows were horrible. There was a smell I couldn’t pinpoint, but it smelled “musty”.

It was dirty around shower with broken tile. There is only a freestanding sink in handicaped bathroom, with no place to set anything, as simple as your tooth brush. At first we had to change rooms because after unpacking we found that the door wouldn't lock.

I came in for business and was greeted eventually by the front desk. When I got to my room the remote to the TV battery was out so explaining to front desk what I needed was 2 AA batteries he was confused and said "are you sure" I've been reading for over 60 years and could understand the message batteries low. The bathtub had mold around it and drapes were falling down.

The toilet seat in my room was covered in pee and hairs. The rest of the room looked like it had not been cleaned. The blankets on the bed were very dirty. There was dirt in the bathtub. When I brought it up with the staff, I waited an hour and they only wiped down the toilet seat and said there were no other rooms available. The hot tub looked dirty and made foam. The breakfast was supposed to open at 6 and nobody was there to open it until after 6:40. I ended up having to go somewhere else for breakfast.

No one was ever at the reception at check in or check out. Had to call them on a phone. We had blood on our curtains. The beds were not comfortable.

Only choice for our stay and it was really dirty

our room was filthy, there was hair, food, mold, and stains on all of our bedding and the furniture. definitely not as advertised. we ended up having to find alternate accommodations because we couldn’t even get ahold of the front desk to actually help or switch rooms.

The room had garbage everywhere, the bedding was stained, and the walls were dirty, the coffee pot was missing pieces and the front desk ignored me when I spoke with them, they never addressed one problem.

I booked a room that had a King bed and a pull out sofa. The pull out sofa had no mattress on it. When I asked the front desk about it, they said ask of their pull out sofas were like that. No way that anyone could sleep on that. Feel as if their room listing is misleading at best and just plain false advertising at worst. Do not book a room here with a pull out sofa if you are anticipating someone actually sleeping on it.

You check in on a phone and there are no employees. Rooms are clean TV did not work and breakfast was closed down.

This hotel is on the corner of an intersection so you get cars during the night slamming on the gas to get going. Paper thin walls could hear everything. No one was ever at the reception desk. My room had not been vacuumed. The appearance of the lobby and hallway to my room was dirty. Ver dark room.

The room we stayed in on the first floor was huge for a hotel room!! It was nice!!

Room certianly neglected. Bathroom sink did not drain, bathroom door would not stay open, pillows need replacing, fan did not function on A/C unit, water faucet did not rain on and front desk had no in person sevice. Had to call a # and retrieve key card on my own. Will not stay here againa d do not rwcomme d!

Very noisy, right next to the Main Street. By 6:00 in the morning you can hear all these trucks going by.

Comfortable bed

Nice, big, quiet room. Breakfast was nice and dining room is big. Shower curtain is in tatters and needs to be replaced.

Hotel was fine but the mattress was top 5 worst we’ve slept on during our travels.

I've stayed here multiple times, I like their spacious suites with 3 queen beds!

There was no one to check us in. I had to call the hotel phone number to get a person to register us.

WOW. I have stayed at this hotel before with no issue but tonight was something else. I checked in as normal and paid the $25 pet fee. Then my son had an accident on the bed (as kids do) so I placed the blanket out in the hall. I went to the front desk and asked for extra blankets - the guy asked me if they were for my dogs and I said no, so he gave them to me. Then at 11PM the “general manager” knocks on our door and states he will charge us a $250 pet fee for the blanket in the hall and the top sheets I had placed on the carpet (the carpets were disgusting with stains as you can see pictured so I placed top sheets down for my kids to walk on). I was so heated (and pregnant) that we just decided to leave, it felt like we were being dictated how we could use blankets and threatened to be charged more money. I then told him on my way out that I would like a refund since we were leaving and he told my husband we are getting charged anyway. He then started filming me and my family telling us we would be charged for “damages”. I asked him in an accident on a sheet is considered damage and he wouldn’t answer me. He has now filed a complaint against me and told Expedia my dog did damage even tho we were literally there 2 hours. DONT STAY HERE. It is so gross and they are looking for ways to scam people out of their money.

When we checked in, the front desk young lady was very polite professional and helpful. However when we checked out there seemed to be no one in the hotel. Breakfast was scheduled at 6-9. We went down and 6:30, 7:30, and 8:00 and all the lights were off. There were 8 or 9 confused guests wandering around the lobby. An empty coffee dispenser was sitting on a table. When you called the front desk, a recording said they were assisting other customers. It appears several people must not have shown up for the morning shift. We left and went out for breakfast.

When we arrived we waited at the desk for 20 minutes trying to call the number provided as well as the manager number. Another 5 people arrived so i wandered around the building yelling out then i had to go into the employee/laundry area in order to find someone and let them know that we needed to check in. The room itself was nice and breakfast was adequate.

The property manager was very rude! Do not stay here unless you want to be scammed and treated like crap.

Room was clean and comfortable, however no housekeeping for entire week of my stay. Breakfast was intermittent - good when available. It was not available 3 of the 7 days I stayed. No explanation. Every morning the coffee in the lobby was leftover and cold from the previous day. No one at front desk in the mornings. Had a sign with a phone and phone number but it just went to busy signal every time. Tried calling managed to extend stay - no answer. Finally gave up and moved to a different hotel.

This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had! We booked a king suite with a pullout sofa bed for me, my wheelchair bound husband, and our two children. Staff started ok, but as things continued to be discovered that was wrong with room, the night staff became extremely hostile and insulting. The pullout bed was garbage and unusable - it was all springs just wrapped in the mattress cover. After asking for some kind of padding, we received 3 blankets. We decided to use the king bed comforter to try and help pad the couch bed more, but upon undoing the bedding we discovered a large yellow stain. Called front desk for a replacement and were told they only have one comforter per room - there are no replacements (how do they get washed?!), but they would try to figure something out. The staff member ended up bringing another comforter he took from another room. We said thank you, and I put it down to get my kids in and out of the shower, so an hour goes by before I finally undo the replacement and it has a stain too! Looks like blood or makeup... It's now 11:30 at night and I call the front desk again to let him know about it and to ask for just flat sheets to use for extra warmth. The clerk then goes off on me and accuses me for being the reason that the room and linens are damaged. We ended up leaving at 12:30 am because we didn't feel safe after the accusations or comfortable with the lack of cleanliness. Now we're fighting to get a refund and have pictures of it all.

They were very accommodating

The location was convenient to food and entertainment. The cost was great. However, the hotel was dirty, the floors especially were filthy, the mattresses weren't good and it was quite noisy.

Elevator and trolley for luggage made getting to my room with all my stuff easy. Good breadfast options. Close to Dinoaur National Monument.

The TV in the room I was initially given did not work. There seemed to be only one person on the desk, so it took way too long for her to come to room and verify that the TV was inoperable. Then it took way too long to be assigned to another room with a working TV., On the morning I checked out, I got to the breakfast room 15 minutes before it was scheduled to close. The only food remaining were one serving of scrambled eggs and sausage that were way passed their prime. Unacceptable.

Vent screen on jetted tub had matted hair and gunk on it. Filled the tub but couldn't bring myself to get in. Need instructions for cable TV in room. Had no idea how to get it to the cable. Very disappointed in the breakfast. If it is noted that breakfast goes to 9 am, there should be breakfast items available until 9 am. It shouldn't be 1st come 1st served. 'Regular' waffle batter tasted rancid.

GPS kept directing us to a shopping mall and not to the motel. We had to stop and find someone that knew where the place was located. Good night's sleep but breakfast was nothing to talk about. No coffee cups in the dining room so could not have a cup of coffee we were told that they ran out of cups.

Staff was helpful and kind, although it was difficult to track them down. We were disappointed breakfast was not offered during our stay. Bed was really uncomfortable. Clean room other than the carpet was stained, not enough towels. Overall it was okay, but not what we hoped for.
