I grew up here and was heartened to see this local gem doing well. Antique charm galore with modernized necessities, comfy bed and hot water aplenty made attending a local funereal so convenient. Enjoyed seeing local artists’ paintings displayed (J.D. Keel, Delores Williams). Convenient to many surrounding towns. Back patio is so inviting with a koi pond, fire pit, lighted umbrella covered booths and a pagoda covered dance floor. Great for large groups. Iconic Dixie Dog near by and Main Street Pizza right next door. Quiet area away from highway noise. Committed owner/operator Gareth Denham relocated from Baltimore, MD is a gracious host and real asset to the town. Definitely recommend this reasonably priced step back to authentic times.

A truly charming old hotel with nice enough beds and other modern upgrades. Highly recommended for value and history. Great family patio with games. My room 201 had an ocean sailing theme...in West Texas. Loved it.

The staff was friendly, the hotel is clean, they have a 24 self-serve kitchen at no additional cost. Great pizza place right next door. My room was neat and homey. Bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable. I will definitely be back.

We really appreciated the hospitality of the owner of Hotel Texan. He was the best host we could hope for. When he directed us to local museum we were surprised with what an excellent place existed in the small town. The room was great. The coffee and snacks were good. Pizza next door was very good. It’s been our best stay so far on western trip. One regret from my wife- we forgot to get a slice of the wonderful bread for the road.

A wonderful place to stay. Victorian furniture everywhere but with modern conveniences. The owner and the receptionist were friendly and took the time to visit and make sure we were happy. The homemade banana bread and muffins were delicious. A perfect stop. The koi pond in the back garden was unexpected and delightful.

This is an old building with wooden floors that screech at every step. Small too not many outlets. When arrived water was off for about hour and a half. Definitely not luxurious. Weed like smell at check in desk. Overall ok for an overnight stay. Not your typical hotel..

The place was like home away from home with amazing history to keep you interested in every inch of the Hotel. Every thing was so very clean and orderly you would think there's a full staff that follows you around cleaning behind you.

The staff was friendly & helpful. It is a charming hotel. Brings you back when life was simple. It was comfortable & it has alot of history. I liked it better than some high end chain hotels. The hotel is extrememly clean & the towels were nice & fluffy.

The owner is very nice. He goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Main St. Pizza also has good food and ice cream, next-door to the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. It is very nice and clean. If I have any business in Hobbs or Lubbock, I will definitely drive an hour to stay at The Hotel Texan instead of staying at any other hotel.

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay at the Hotel Texan. Gareth is a fantastic host, he made us feel welcomed and staying here was like visiting a friend (who just so happens to own a hotel). We love staying at these historic properties, yes they are a bit quirky (uneven floors, small bathrooms, no elevators ) but the history is so enchanting. The hotel has some really nice antiques. Our room was in the front of the hotel and had a nice sitting area and separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and we had a nice quiet night. Breakfast included was homemade banana bread, variety of cereal, pop tarts, instant oatmeal, milk, juice, coffee, hot chocolate, blueberry muffins. Gareth also had a Coke available for me! Our stay included a gift card to the Pizza restaurant next door where we had THE BEST calzone we’ve ever had. The herbs on the calzone crust included rosemary. The top crust was like a cracker so nice and crispy, not soggy. We got the supreme with tons of fresh veggies along with sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon. More than big enough to share which left us room for ice cream. The only slight complaint I would have would be the room could be a little more clean.

Very cozy, historic hotel! I loved my room, it was very comfortable and homey, both the bed and couch were very nice. I really enjoyed talking with Gareth who checked me in as well, he was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and the history of the hotel, and just fun to chat with. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay in this area, and also for anyone who is interested in historical places.

Very peaceful, quaint place! Bed and PILLOW and blanket were the best I have had in a hotel!! I felt rested and relaxed in the morning!

This is a hotel built in 1917. The rooms are cute. I was told it used to have 20 rooms with one bathroom but now it has 7 rooms each with it's own. The owner is really nice and very informative. Somethings that may be a turn off for some people is the lack of an alarm clock, outlets, in room coffee pot, microwave, and mini fridge but these things were not a burdan for me. I would definitely stay again if in the area.

Such a unique place to stay! The feel is so vintage and absolute perfection! The staff was so beyond kind and easy to work with! Our room was beautiful and the beds were so comfortable and plush! Highly recommend!

Very nice, easy going, and comfortable hotel in a small West Texas town. We stayed here while doing some work in Lamesa. Highly recommended.

The Hotel Texan is a restored historic motel, obviously an old building, creaky wood floors with period furniture. And that is its charm!! Bathroom is modern, no walk to the outhouse of course!! The town of Seagraves is very small.

Very cozy, historic hotel! I loved my room, it was very comfortable and homey, both the bed and couch were very nice. I really enjoyed talking with Gareth who checked me in as well, he was very friendly, knowledgeable about the area and the history of the hotel, and just fun to chat with. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a place to stay in this area, and also for anyone who is interested in historical places.

The staff was friendly & helpful. It is a charming hotel. Brings you back when life was simple. It was comfortable & it has alot of history. I liked it better than some high end chain hotels. The hotel is extrememly clean & the towels were nice & fluffy.

The owner is very nice. He goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. Main St. Pizza also has good food and ice cream, next-door to the hotel. I would recommend it to anyone. It is very nice and clean. If I have any business in Hobbs or Lubbock, I will definitely drive an hour to stay at The Hotel Texan instead of staying at any other hotel.

An absolutely beautifully refurbished hotel. I'm no expert but we felt like we had stepped back through time to fine hotel in Texas. The furniture, the antiques, even the floorboards gave that old tyme feeling. Having the pizza and ice cream parlor next door was super convenient. The host, Graham, and his nephew were excellent! Very welcoming and went out of their way to be sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We came in after dark and left before the sun was up so we didn't see much of the town. Next time we will!

We really appreciated the hospitality of the owner of Hotel Texan. He was the best host we could hope for. When he directed us to local museum we were surprised with what an excellent place existed in the small town. The room was great. The coffee and snacks were good. Pizza next door was very good. It’s been our best stay so far on western trip. One regret from my wife- we forgot to get a slice of the wonderful bread for the road.

I grew up here and was heartened to see this local gem doing well. Antique charm galore with modernized necessities, comfy bed and hot water aplenty made attending a local funereal so convenient. Enjoyed seeing local artists’ paintings displayed (J.D. Keel, Delores Williams). Convenient to many surrounding towns. Back patio is so inviting with a koi pond, fire pit, lighted umbrella covered booths and a pagoda covered dance floor. Great for large groups. Iconic Dixie Dog near by and Main Street Pizza right next door. Quiet area away from highway noise. Committed owner/operator Gareth Denham relocated from Baltimore, MD is a gracious host and real asset to the town. Definitely recommend this reasonably priced step back to authentic times.

Very relaxing atmosphere and great service. Shannondoa and Roy (AKA Grandpa) made us feel right at home. Had an excellent pizza and some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had right next door. Also, had a great visit with Roy, one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay at the Hotel Texan. Gareth is a fantastic host, he made us feel welcomed and staying here was like visiting a friend (who just so happens to own a hotel). We love staying at these historic properties, yes they are a bit quirky (uneven floors, small bathrooms, no elevators ) but the history is so enchanting. The hotel has some really nice antiques. Our room was in the front of the hotel and had a nice sitting area and separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and we had a nice quiet night. Breakfast included was homemade banana bread, variety of cereal, pop tarts, instant oatmeal, milk, juice, coffee, hot chocolate, blueberry muffins. Gareth also had a Coke available for me! Our stay included a gift card to the Pizza restaurant next door where we had THE BEST calzone we’ve ever had. The herbs on the calzone crust included rosemary. The top crust was like a cracker so nice and crispy, not soggy. We got the supreme with tons of fresh veggies along with sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon. More than big enough to share which left us room for ice cream. The only slight complaint I would have would be the room could be a little more clean.

A wonderful place to stay. Victorian furniture everywhere but with modern conveniences. The owner and the receptionist were friendly and took the time to visit and make sure we were happy. The homemade banana bread and muffins were delicious. A perfect stop. The koi pond in the back garden was unexpected and delightful.

The staff was friendly, the hotel is clean, they have a 24 self-serve kitchen at no additional cost. Great pizza place right next door. My room was neat and homey. Bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable. I will definitely be back.

The Hotel Texan was a wonderful place to stay! The owner was amazingly helpful, and it was a very cool building and "feel." I was there for the eclipse, and they actually had viewing glasses for their guests. The breakfast was wonderful (breakfast burritos). I really enjoyed my time there, and would recommend it heartily! I truly loved the antiquated vibe of the hotel, this one is fantastic!

Very charming and nostalgic. Beds were very comfortable. Gareth was the perfect host and made us feel very welcome. We ate at Main St daily as it was very convenient and everything I ordered was very tasty. Don’t forget to get some ice cream too! 😋

We really appreciated the hospitality of the owner of Hotel Texan. He was the best host we could hope for. When he directed us to local museum we were surprised with what an excellent place existed in the small town. The room was great. The coffee and snacks were good. Pizza next door was very good. It’s been our best stay so far on western trip. One regret from my wife- we forgot to get a slice of the wonderful bread for the road.

A wonderful place to stay. Victorian furniture everywhere but with modern conveniences. The owner and the receptionist were friendly and took the time to visit and make sure we were happy. The homemade banana bread and muffins were delicious. A perfect stop. The koi pond in the back garden was unexpected and delightful.

An absolutely beautifully refurbished hotel. I'm no expert but we felt like we had stepped back through time to fine hotel in Texas. The furniture, the antiques, even the floorboards gave that old tyme feeling. Having the pizza and ice cream parlor next door was super convenient. The host, Graham, and his nephew were excellent! Very welcoming and went out of their way to be sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We came in after dark and left before the sun was up so we didn't see much of the town. Next time we will!

I grew up here and was heartened to see this local gem doing well. Antique charm galore with modernized necessities, comfy bed and hot water aplenty made attending a local funereal so convenient. Enjoyed seeing local artists’ paintings displayed (J.D. Keel, Delores Williams). Convenient to many surrounding towns. Back patio is so inviting with a koi pond, fire pit, lighted umbrella covered booths and a pagoda covered dance floor. Great for large groups. Iconic Dixie Dog near by and Main Street Pizza right next door. Quiet area away from highway noise. Committed owner/operator Gareth Denham relocated from Baltimore, MD is a gracious host and real asset to the town. Definitely recommend this reasonably priced step back to authentic times.
