Excellent property with a very nice pool that was relaxing to hang out during our whole stay. Really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach which was a really nice 5-10 minute walk down from the hotel.

I LOVED the room, the view and the property. Didn’t love that we were required to do valet, with very limited self parking nearby. It was great to stay to start off our wedding weekend and would stay again

It was quiet and relaxing. I booked a room with a big terrace and a firepit. It was exactly what I needed for my mommy get away. My only complaint would be the lack of self parking. The valet parking is insanely priced. Also the pool area is fairly small so you might not have a place to lay out in. The staff was attentive and nice.

Stunning new hotel on the beach with large stylish rooms, great restaurants and fitness center with beach access and pool with sunset views. Close to all the great North San Diego beach towns...although you will be tempted to enjoy the property and never leave! We will be back in May with the whole family. Great for adults and also fun for smaller kids.

Okay where to start! I absolutely loved the staff in this resort. From front desk with Francisco and Ismael, to The Pocket staff, Scott, Dominic, and Brittany. To the guest experience staff Denise who took care of small hiccups during our stay. We are so grateful for your team! We loved the food, drinks, and desserts. The views were stunning! The pool and hot tub were clean and at great temperatures. Make sure to rent a complimentary E-bike, that was such a nice touch! Overall I would rate our stay 10/10! We will be back :).

It’s a nice hotel but definitely not worth the money. For the price you get a room, pool anf gym access. Otherwise there is a charge for everything. Poor signage around the hotel for accessing the lobby.

Very expensive property. Added fees to valet. No choice. Very small pool area. Not near enough seating for number of guests. Beach area is very undesirable. Can’t ride bikes in this area even though they provide them. Nowhere to walk the beach or hike from property. Very limited. Many other beach areas are better choices Wouldn’t choose this hotel again. The people serving at the hotel were all very nice

Had a fire pit room on the 1st floor, which made up for a cold foggy one night stay, couldn’t see the sun, coastline or sunset. The bushes and shrubbery around the fire pit would be nice if they had been watered, the shower was awesome but would be better if the frameless glass door was aligned properly and didn’t sound like glass on glass when it closed ready to shatter. All in all beautiful property, but like most of my Hyatt experiences, would be elevated if maintained better. Passed the white glove test for room cleanliness, bed and pillows were great, dining was high priced but enjoyable.

Most of the staff were kind and helpful. The rooms were clean, no turn down service, not the end of the world, but for the cost, expected. The amenities offered were a very nice touch, and the gentleman who assisted with the bike and board rentals was wonderful. Food service is the area that is below standards and needs to be addressed. We had cocktails upon arrival and dined at both restaurants during our stay. The food was less than stellar, the staff was kind but considering we were one of two or three guests, the servers were inattentive, service was slow,(they seemed to be carrying out personal business..yes we could hear the personal conversations being addressed on the phone and with others while guest service was being neglected). You have a beautiful location and could really make this resort a go-to destination. However, some of the most basic hospitality skills have seriously missed the mark. Our comments are honest, not meant to be cruel. Moving forward, we hope the areas we feel are deficient will be addressed and improved.

The room and the hotel itself along with the staff are excellent, along with the views. We had a concern with the privacy and quietness with the rooms that we can hear the neighboring guests talking. I stayed in room 133 and they were at 131. There was a wooden door between us and I guess it was not very sound proof. Also we can hear guests staying right above us walking around in their rooms. I believe the ceiling soundproof was also not done right.

When I arrived I was told complimentary valet parking and turns out they charge $60 or something like that when you go to check out. Room was thin walls and we heard our neighbors which woke us up at 7am. Hotel was very empty but they put us next door to loud neighbors with 20 plus rooms empty in both directions. Stay at a better hotel. This one is not worth the money.

Just a gorgeous property and every single staff member was outstanding and I mean that. I had more interaction with Marty and he's just wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable. I have arthritis and had I known our room would have been so far from the lobby (151) I would have asked to perhaps switch. Loved the Coffee Box and Vaga.The room appointments were spot on and amazing, best shower ever especially the eucalyptus in the shower. My complaint of the room is a lighted makeup mirror on the wall would have been great OR the kind of vanity mirror that is lit all the way around. The bathroom is lit too dimly to do makeup. To us, there isn't enough hustle and bustle at this lovely place and probably purposely no real gathering space. We didn't know the property is one for tranquility,but so glad we tried Alila Marea. So lovely but perhaps not for us. Thank you to the entire staff.

Love this hotel and the area. Rooms are wonderful, restaurant is quite good. The town is a typical CA beach town with a mix of casual and good restaurants along with some quirky yet quaint shops and businesses. Close to outlet malls. Great road biking all around. Beaches are best for surfing, a bit of a drive for sandy beaches.

I expected the room to be so much more considering the cost. It’s not worth it. Very overpriced for the lack of quality and inability to have full ocean views. Staff was extremely accommodating and tried to compensate for a poorly designed property.

Perfect. Property, architecture and interior design were beautiful and well thought out. Room was roomy with picturesque views. Staff was amazing. VAGA restaurant was delicious with more stunning views. The Coffee Box was a great spot for quick delicious breakfast. The Pocket served wonderful cocktails.

From checking in after 4 pm while requesting a early check in for my husbands birthday I was told my room would be ready and was being finished up to only find out we sat around for 4 hours because we thought our room was almost ready indeed it was not even close” then we finally get checked in after 4 pm and we receive someone else’s luggage up to our room with none of our expensive luggage or belongings. THEN we order food only to have it take almost 2 hours and receive the most disgusting non editable food and hard short ribs! This was the worst experience I’ve ever had

Overall, a great experience. Our check-in was scheduled for 4:00 PM but our room wasn't ready until 5:15. Not idea but we enjoyed a few drinks with ocean views at the hotel bar.

The personal service and accommodation of the staff was wonderful. We had reserved for dinner at Vaga restaurant but somehow it didn’t show on their end. The manager JJ made it possible to seat us and offered us free drinks each to make up for the error. The waitresses, overall were super nice. Also, the service by the pool was extremely efficient.

Outstanding location and property. Unfortunately, the service and staff continued to disappoint during our stay. Management needs to address the training of the staff at front desk and in the restaurant. A five star resort can't charge over $800 a night for just an oceanfront location. The service needs to be more polished and competent.

Okay where to start! I absolutely loved the staff in this resort. From front desk with Francisco and Ismael, to The Pocket staff, Scott, Dominic, and Brittany. To the guest experience staff Denise who took care of small hiccups during our stay. We are so grateful for your team! We loved the food, drinks, and desserts. The views were stunning! The pool and hot tub were clean and at great temperatures. Make sure to rent a complimentary E-bike, that was such a nice touch! Overall I would rate our stay 10/10! We will be back :).

When we checked in we were given one of the worst rooms possible. It was directly over the service entry garage, had a massive concrete overhang which made the room very dark and no patio. I had bought the top tier room so this was a massive let down. I couldn't imagine this specific room was worth $1000 so I called the front desk to ask about it and they realized they had made a mistake. They said they would move us to a room we had originally reserved but it was going to be 5-10mins because they were busy. That was no problem. We waited in the lobby and 20mins later someone came up to us and said “what room are you in?” And he was incredibly frustrated and exhausted, looked like he had been running around. He never introduced himself and began to talk negatively about his whole staff who have been a mess today. He told us to follow him and he legitimately ran off leaving us with our luggage to scramble and follow him as quickly as possible. He didn’t offer to help us with our bags, let alone apologize for the inconvenience. He was more concerned about being upset and making it clear to us what a bad day he was having. It was absolutely not the welcome I expected for a high end property. We decided to lay by the pool and after 1.5hrs of absolutely no one coming over to ask if we needed anything we left. The hotel itself is nice, the new room was great, however the staff and service was not only poor but actually made us feel incredibly unwelcome and not taken care of.

We got to the hotel about 20 minutes before check in time, so not super early and were told our room still wasn’t ready and that they would text us when it was. An hour later we were still waiting so we went back to the front desk to check and they apologized and said our room was ready. Having to wait well past check in time for a top notch resort was just a bit disappointing.

We had a wonderful stay, very tranquil and beautiful. The check in process was awful, as was check out. When our room wasn’t ready on time, we were offered a glass of champagne and told to wait in the lobby. We went back to see a second person, again, we were told the same thing, they said they’d be with us in 10 minutes. We went an hour later to see a third person who said our room was ready, they just hadn’t told us. They just left us sitting there for an hour (hour and an half total). And as a courtesy, they said, they’d extend our checkout time to 3 o’clock the next day. When we went up to the hotel room at 2 o’clock the following day, we were locked out. Someone quickly came up and let us in, but the whole check-in checkout process was run pretty poorly. They could’ve done a much better job with that everything else was lovely

Excellent property with a very nice pool that was relaxing to hang out during our whole stay. Really enjoyed the close proximity to the beach which was a really nice 5-10 minute walk down from the hotel.

The resort fee and daily parking fee is a little outrageous. There is no free parking and the only option is valet. There isn’t much in a walkable distance (food or shopping) so a vehicle is a must. There were a a few groups of twentysomethings also staying at the resort during our stay there. One group of girls were screaming on their balcony and when I turned to see what they were yelling about one of the girls flashed me. I had no desire to see a naked young female screaming on their balcony during my stay. It was also near the pool and a public walkway where children could have easily been present. The facility was otherwise beautiful and well maintained. Staff was very friendly as well.

Stunning new hotel on the beach with large stylish rooms, great restaurants and fitness center with beach access and pool with sunset views. Close to all the great North San Diego beach towns...although you will be tempted to enjoy the property and never leave! We will be back in May with the whole family. Great for adults and also fun for smaller kids.

Very expensive property. Added fees to valet. No choice. Very small pool area. Not near enough seating for number of guests. Beach area is very undesirable. Can’t ride bikes in this area even though they provide them. Nowhere to walk the beach or hike from property. Very limited. Many other beach areas are better choices Wouldn’t choose this hotel again. Absolutely amazing. Loved the view from the coastal view room and the food at Vaga was spectacular. They are very accommodating to gluten free guests. The pool staff were very attentive and the day in the cabana was perfect.

Most of the staff were kind and helpful. The rooms were clean, no turn down service, not the end of the world, but for the cost, expected. The amenities offered were a very nice touch, and the gentleman who assisted with the bike and board rentals was wonderful. Food service is the area that is below standards and needs to be addressed. We had cocktails upon arrival and dined at both restaurants during our stay. The food was less than stellar, the staff was kind but considering we were one of two or three guests, the servers were inattentive, service was slow,(they seemed to be carrying out personal business..yes we could hear the personal conversations being addressed on the phone and with others while guest service was being neglected). You have a beautiful location and could really make this resort a go-to destination. However, some of the most basic hospitality skills have seriously missed the mark. Our comments are honest, not meant to be cruel. Moving forward, we hope the areas we feel are deficient will be addressed and improved.

Very nice hotel with nice rooms. Great food at VAGA. Bar is nice. Wish it had more direct views of ocean/cut hedge. Wish pool and hot tub were larger. Wish it was walking distance to Moonlight beach and not Pronto as this beach was rocky. Would come back for sure if staying in Encinitas.

Perfect. Property, architecture and interior design were beautiful and well thought out. Room was roomy with picturesque views. Staff was amazing. VAGA restaurant was delicious with more stunning views. The Coffee Box was a great spot for quick delicious breakfast. The Pocket served wonderful cocktails.

If you have children absolutely do not book at this property. It is not kid friendly, they are not allowed to use the jacuzzi (even though it is directly adjacent to the small pool). The food is very sub par and the pricing is exorbitant for the quality of what is offered. Overall incredibly disappointing experience. Will never stay here again.

The hotel was beautiful, the pool was great to relax by enjoy the sauna and cold plunge. The beach is a short walk down the stairs and is a pretty quiet beach, it does have a lot of rocks tho. The amenities being able to rent a bike, beach chairs and board were a lot of fun. There was lots of good restaurants a short bike ride away. The staff was all very friendly and helpful.
