Whispering Creek Lodge is a very peaceful getaway. The property grounds are beautiful with the pond out front and woods and creek outback, we were content to stay put and not venture out to do other things. We enjoyed fishing, the deck out front, the fire pit, as well as the wood stove inside, the quietness and unplugging from modern technology. We decided not to watch TV and played games and completed a puzzle while there. We also wanted to grow spiritually and studied the Bible together. Inside the lodge is decorated to feel warm and cozy and has all the comforts of home. Karen is very responsive as a host and makes sure you have everything that you need to enjoy your stay! Thank you Karen for sharing your lodge with us, it was just what we needed at this time in our lives! God bless you!

We arrived at Whispering Creek Lodge the day after Christmas, after a few snowy days of frigid temps. The lodge was picturesquely situated between a small frozen lake and an icy babbling creek. On the way in, we passed a couple of houses on the lake, but there was no one home, and all was quiet. Upon entering with easy access by keypad code provided, we were welcomed by the warm and cozy ambiance of the lodge. A decorated little Christmas tree added to the festive homey feeling. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots, pans and dishes. There was a coffeemaker, a Keurig and a hot, cool and cold water dispenser. Plenty of firewood was provided for a nice toasty fire in the fireplace, and a comfy couch and chairs to relax in the living room and watch Netflix on Roku. Internet was a little intermittent, but not bad at all. Verizon cell service was non-existent. The downstairs bedroom had a very comfortable queen bed with extra pillows and blankets available, and a half bath across the hall. The bedroom had access to the deck through french doors, as did the laundry/office next door. At the top of the stairs, there was a cute open loft bedroom with a full bath, which was also accessible from the large beautiful private master bedroom with gas fireplace and balcony. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whispering Creek Lodge, and had a great holiday visit with our family. Other than our cold-loving black lab, we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor areas as much due to the cold, but we can imagine that lots of fun could be had outside on the deck, and at the fire pit out back in warmer temps. Stay, you'll love it!

The home and the property are just lovely! We very much enjoyed the deck, the fire pit and fishing in the pond. My dog especially enjoyed playing in the creek! The house was clean and comfortable with nice decor. Close to World's End for hiking trails. We would definitely consider staying here again!

2nd year back and we will be back again!! Everything you need is here for a perfect country get away! Check in and out is simple! Karen is an A host, the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils. We love relaxing on the deck listening to the pond come alive, plenty of Sunny’s to catch in the pond. At night the stars are bright and you can hear the frogs and owls. Our dogs loved the creek in the back it’s perfect for your dog or kids to get wet and cool off! State parks are close by where you can fish hike swim, it really is the perfect getaway!

It was the outdoor space that blew us away at this property; nice decking, good access, fire pit and nice outdoor seating. A mountain stream and a small lake steps from the door.We love to cook in and for that we had everything we needed. Also plenty of towels, washer/dryer, and instant hot water. Beds comfortable. Bottled water provided for drinking. Overall the cabin had Rustic appeal. The owner was readily responsive. Great location for Ricketts Glen and Worlds End state parks which was what brought us to the area. The property was a bonus.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The lodge was well equipped and very comfortable! The stream and pond were lovely and we really enjoyed the laid back fishing every evening. It was easy to kick back and relax and we loved the covered deck! Thank you so much!

This is the best getaway ever for us! Pond in the front to fish in, swing to enjoy the view, gazebo to stay out of the rain, back yard creek to enjoy and meditate. So serene! Fire pit to enjoy! The master suite is incredible with the fireplace and balcony overlooking the back yard. The weather makes absolutely no difference when you are here. Honestly, it is perfect in every way! If you have a chance to get away here, do it! 10 / 10!! This was our second stay and there has to be a third! Nothing compares for us!

well equipped kitchen and linens, nice furniture. Secluded but close enough to town to be convenient for groceries. Odd layout, with only a powder room for downstairs bedroom guest and 3rd bedroom is unenclosed. But, for just two, it was very fine. clean as a whistle! Host was very helpful with a couple very, very minor problems.

Found the lodge to be exactly as advertised. I appreciated the cleanliness of the spaces both inside and outside showing the owner’s care. Whether for a personal retreat or a family vacation I would recommend the lodge. I’ll be back!

Lovely house and a great quiet location. The pond is out front with lots of birds including a trio of belted kingfishers and you get a babbling stream outback. Close to the very small town of Benton. Nice spacious bedrooms. Putting on our rotation of places to stay.

The lodge is very comfortable and welcoming and is located in a quiet and peaceful setting. We enjoyed sitting by the pond and stream and just taking in the serenity of the property. The beds were very comfortable and everything we needed for our stay was provided in the lodge. We were a short drive from state parks where we spent our days hiking. The waterfall hike in Ricketts Glen was spectacular the day after a heavy thunderstorm. Would definitely recommend a stay in this lodge!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for my birthday week. The location was perfect for hiking at Rickett's Glenn and World's End. The house was well stocked and the views from the windows were fantastic. Because of the smoke from the fires in Canada, it was colder than normal, but a fire in the fireplace did the trick. The WIFI stayed connected most of the time and when it went out, it was only for a short time. We loved our stay and we will be back. Thanks, Karen!

Nice accommodations, beds were super comfy! Dog friendly, they had a great time exploring the back yard woods and stream. My boyfriend enjoyed being able to fish in the pond. Neighbors were very friendly too.

This property is perfect for a getaway with hiking and downtime from the day-to-day stresses. The cabin is clean, adorable, and the views of both the creek, and the pond are amazing. It is close to great hiking in both World’s End State Park, and Ricketts Glenn State Park. Would definitely stay here again.

Whispering Creek Lodge is a very peaceful getaway. The property grounds are beautiful with the pond out front and woods and creek outback, we were content to stay put and not venture out to do other things. We enjoyed fishing, the deck out front, the fire pit, as well as the wood stove inside, the quietness and unplugging from modern technology. We decided not to watch TV and played games and completed a puzzle while there. We also wanted to grow spiritually and studied the Bible together. Inside the lodge is decorated to feel warm and cozy and has all the comforts of home. Karen is very responsive as a host and makes sure you have everything that you need to enjoy your stay! Thank you Karen for sharing your lodge with us, it was just what we needed at this time in our lives! God bless you!

We arrived at Whispering Creek Lodge the day after Christmas, after a few snowy days of frigid temps. The lodge was picturesquely situated between a small frozen lake and an icy babbling creek. On the way in, we passed a couple of houses on the lake, but there was no one home, and all was quiet. Upon entering with easy access by keypad code provided, we were welcomed by the warm and cozy ambiance of the lodge. A decorated little Christmas tree added to the festive homey feeling. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots, pans and dishes. There was a coffeemaker, a Keurig and a hot, cool and cold water dispenser. Plenty of firewood was provided for a nice toasty fire in the fireplace, and a comfy couch and chairs to relax in the living room and watch Netflix on Roku. Internet was a little intermittent, but not bad at all. Verizon cell service was non-existent. The downstairs bedroom had a very comfortable queen bed with extra pillows and blankets available, and a half bath across the hall. The bedroom had access to the deck through french doors, as did the laundry/office next door. At the top of the stairs, there was a cute open loft bedroom with a full bath, which was also accessible from the large beautiful private master bedroom with gas fireplace and balcony. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whispering Creek Lodge, and had a great holiday visit with our family. Other than our cold-loving black lab, we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor areas as much due to the cold, but we can imagine that lots of fun could be had outside on the deck, and at the fire pit out back in warmer temps. This is the third time I have stayed here, and it never disappoints! Clean, well-stocked, comfortable, and peaceful. If we are ever to come back to the area, we would definitely stay here again. While we did not do it this time, for anyone interested in hiking, Rickets Glen is fairly close. One of our favorite hikes! I would rate it moderate, as there are a lot of stairs, etc, but it is really beautiful, with over 20 waterfalls! Our host, Karen, was great to deal with, and very helpful and attentive. We left some thing behind by mistake, and she was nice enough to mail it back to us. Thank you Karen!

2nd year back and we will be back again!! Everything you need is here for a perfect country get away! Check in and out is simple! Karen is an A host, the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils. We love relaxing on the deck listening to the pond come alive, plenty of Sunny’s to catch in the pond. At night the stars are bright and you can hear the frogs and owls. Our dogs loved the creek in the back it’s perfect for your dog or kids to get wet and cool off! State parks are close by where you can fish hike swim, it really is the perfect getaway!

It was the outdoor space that blew us away at this property; nice decking, good access, fire pit and nice outdoor seating. A mountain stream and a small lake steps from the door.We love to cook in and for that we had everything we needed. Also plenty of towels, washer/dryer, and instant hot water. Beds comfortable. Bottled water provided for drinking. Overall the cabin had Rustic appeal. The owner was readily responsive. Great location for Ricketts Glen and Worlds End state parks which was what brought us to the area. The property was a bonus.

well equipped kitchen and linens, nice furniture. Secluded but close enough to town to be convenient for groceries. Odd layout, with only a powder room for downstairs bedroom guest and 3rd bedroom is unenclosed. But, for just two, it was very fine. clean as a whistle! Host was very helpful with a couple very, very minor problems.

Lovely house and a great quiet location. The pond is out front with lots of birds including a trio of belted kingfishers and you get a babbling stream outback. Close to the very small town of Benton. Nice spacious bedrooms. Putting on our rotation of places to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for my birthday week. The location was perfect for hiking at Rickett's Glenn and World's End. The house was well stocked and the views from the windows were fantastic. Because of the smoke from the fires in Canada, it was colder than normal, but a fire in the fireplace did the trick. The WIFI stayed connected most of the time and when it went out, it was only for a short time. We loved our stay and we will be back. Thanks, Karen!

Our family really enjoyed our stay here! The cabin was cozy, the location was great, it felt remote which was what we wanted, and it was clean. The property was well stocked with wood for the fire, it had courtesy items like TP, paper towels, trash bags, kitchen items like pots and pans, and some condiment items. It had towels too (but we always bring our own). We hiked some really great trails in the surrounding state parks, and had an all around great time. Dog friendly too, which was a huge plus. Would stay here again.

This property is perfect for a getaway with hiking and downtime from the day-to-day stresses. The cabin is clean, adorable, and the views of both the creek, and the pond are amazing. It is close to great hiking in both World’s End State Park, and Ricketts Glenn State Park. Would definitely stay here again.

This stay is very nice. The house is lovely, very comfortable and well equipped. The property is very pretty, not far from town, but still rural, so it's quiet and peaceful. The pond has some great fish, we had a wonderful time fishing.

Clean, well maintained, and has everything you need. Beautiful setting with a pond out the front door and a trout stream out the back door. Plenty of decks for your enjoyment as well as a fire pit. Large main bedroom upstairs with a private deck. Only a bout 10 min. drive in to town (grocery store, restaurants, sporting goods store, etc.) but you will definitely get country feel.

Overall, our stay was good. We stayed on a cold and damp Easter weekend (arrived April 3rd and left April 6th) so I wanted to start a fire in the fireplace, but notice the fireplace was filled with ashes and had to remove those ashes before starting our fire. The fireplace had a glass door on the front of it, but the glass was severely blacked from many uses and once the door was closed, you could not see the fire. I tried to clean the black soot of the glass, but it would not come off. The owner does provide firewood, but it is very old and rotten. The owner does have good firewood but that is locked up for emergency use, in case they have a power outage and the wood is needed for heat. Other than the fireplace, the rest of the home was clean when we arrived.I love to cook, so we ate in for most of our meals. I would suggest to the owners to update their cookware, the cooking pans are old and handles are cracked.The master bedroom is very comfortable with a large bed, TV and fireplace. This home is located in a beautiful area...peaceful and quiet. Was it worth the 900 we spent for 3 nights...maybe not.
