Great back yard and easy travel to local beaches!

Overall the home location was perfect, close to the beach and many local attractions. The cleanliness could be a bit improved in unseen corners, under the beds there was a lot of dust. The washing machine is a plus, because we could wash our towels. Some feedback I have is to clean the carpet on the stairs because it needed a subtle freshening. The couches were a bit worn, but a cover would help make it look newer. Overall this home was cute, location was great just some elements needed to be tweaked to make it perfect. We loved the fire pit area with porch, it was a nice way to spend time outdoors, with the mild temperatures.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this location. We have rented houses at several RI properties throughout the years. Great location and short distance to things we wanted to do and the beach was great with the free parking pass. We didn't realize the main floor was going to be up a very steep stair which was an issue due to half of our party having knee and leg issues and older persons. When we checked in the house it had a quick cursory clean of floors and surfaces, however the walls in most areas had not been washed with hand prints or food, dirt on them. Cobwebs in corners, dust on ceiling unused areas and a load left in the dryer. When I went to fold them and place them away the cuboard I found most items were tossed in the cuboard balled up and several items were still damp. Should have a deeper clean and for the money charged for cleaning. These are minor concerns so overall decent property.

We had a nice vacation with our three children and two dogs. House had a very musty smell at check in, but with the windows open, it aired out overnight and was fine for the remainder of the week. The house was clean and had plenty of room for the 6 of us that stayed. The dishwasher did not work even after following the directions to reset the trip and to check the breaker. Not a big deal. Nice walk to the ocean lookout point- about a mile. The beach pass was great and got to use it a few times over the course of the week. Overall, a great week!

This was the perfect off season getaway spot for my family and 2 dogs. We were looking for something decent priced within driving distance to New York. The place smelled very clean upon arrival. You enter the house through the bottom floor and the stairs to go upstairs are quite steep for people traveling with children. There is also an entrance around the opposite side of the driveway which is actually the front of the house. We loved the open floor plan on the main level. Everything you need is there including laundry. We would definitely stay again.

We have a wonderful time at the cottage. My kids are all teens and they loved it. We played games in the yard, used the fire pit and dined on the patio! Perfect weekend getaway.

This is a great little getaway in a very nice neighborhood. It is my second time here. It was easy to take my dogs for daily walks. It is close to many stores and is about 1.5 miles away from the beach. They lend you their beach pass to Wuskenau Beach which is a nice beach next to Misquamicut. The cottage is clean and the beds are comfortable. We enjoyed our stay here again. Thank you Fausto and Cheryl.

Check in/out was super easy. Close to the beach in a very quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed the quiet mornings on the front porch and quiet evenings in the backyard with a fire. Was enough space for my small family and small dogs. Beds were comfy and convenient to have a washer and dryer in the house. This will be our new yearly vacation spot!

My husband and I had our 3 adult children with their spouse/significant others and 2 grandkids (10). It was a special time for us to spend together. Great location for beach, kayaking and biking. The beach pass made parking easy. The home is built into a hill so you can enter via either lower or upper level. Two bedrooms and a full bath plus kitchen and living room are on the upper level and 2 BR and bath on the lower level. The kitchen was fully open to the living room which we liked. The stairs are very steep so us older folks used the upper level front door. The front lawn is level enough for games such as corn hole or badminton. The bathrooms were nice and the home generally well maintained. There is AC though the upstairs bedrooms can get a bit warm when you close the door at night - you may want to bring a fan if it's mid summer and you like to sleep cooler. Would stay here again.

Pictures posted did not depict cottage. It was filthy. Gunk on bass boards, radiators had items behind them and dirty. Kitchen ceiling is ready to fall in. Black mold in Bathroom. Windows so filthy you couldn’t barely see through. On could go on. I wanted to leave the next day but as my husband started, it’s already paid for. The sad thing is it could be a lovely place with some TLC.

The house had a lot of cob webs throughout it. The upstairs shower had mold. The beds were mad with only 1 sheet instead of 2. The house needs some updating and a good cleaning. Otherwise it was a great location and the owner responded in a timely manner.

I have rented this house many times; this and this great hosts’ other house are two of my favorites, and this time I was impressed with the upgrades made since my last visit to the kitchen and bathroom. I noticed it as soon as I walked in! Gorgeous new counter and sink and modern faucet and lots of cabinets! Already a big fridge and good stove make this a nice house to cook in, lots of dishes, glassware and cooking stuff, good coffeemaker, with a dining area and the living room comfortable and adjacent with plenty of seating. One of those houses where you can find a pen, corkscrew, birthday candles, the beach pass, delivery menus and more in - I love that as a frequent traveler. The shower has this big rain shower showerhead now which is so delightful with the always plentiful hot water. It elevates the shower stall a lot! Always a lot of towels, nice and clean and soft. The house as always was immaculately cleaned for my stay. Their cleaning service does the most thorough job. It’s so nice to get the key and walk in and everything is just perfect to relax and enjoy your stay. I also do super productive work here; the Internet service provided is fast and reliable. It’s quiet and restful with also a lot of great things to do locally of course the amazing beaches, the nearby casinos in Connecticut and excellent restaurants all around. The beach pass to Wuskenau is such a nice privilege for summer parking and being able to go to one of the best beaches in the Ocean State. It’s right next to the state beach at Misquamicut and the waves are fantastic and the water and shoreline pristine. Plus the immediate property to the house and neighborhood are beautiful, the landscaping and a nearby nature preserve are great walking areas. My dog absolutely loves it here. At night it is so quiet you can hear the ocean waves on the beach shore nearby and the sky is filled with stars that are bright and clear. The fire pit is a fun outside gathering place in the yard for hanging out toasting marshmallows having a glass of wine or a soda or coffee and enjoying the ocean breezes. Sleeping is delightful with such comfortable beds and super clean high quality bedding. I always have a well rested, comfortable and happy time here. It’s the perfect place to relax, work away from home, or do both. You can tell every detail is thought out with the comfort and enjoyment of the guests in mind.

The pictures are outdated/misleading/false. You are paying for the location and beach pass, thats it. If the advertisement said “rustic cottage, just like camping,” that would be more accurate. Imbummed I wasted my families annual vacation here. The house is in serious need of a deep clean; lots of dust and dirt in all the corners. My daughter’s feet turned black from walking around with no socks on. Im not sure where the cleaning fee goes. Very buggy, lots of dead bugs in the light fixtures, corners, windowsills, etc. The living room couches smell so musty and gross but you cant open any of the windows (except the bathroom since the fan doesnt work) because there is foam pieces and duct tape covering up the holes in the window frames. Many of the windows dont have curtains or shades, because they are broken off. Lots of broken items; hammock rolled in a dirty ball in the basement, headboard broken with super sharp edge, Grill was filthy (didnt make our steaktips). Chairs by firepit were filthy and unusable. Grass could have been mowed and partner found two ticks on him, but that is just RI I guess. Mouse poop in cabinet that I had to clean out. Battery hanging out of fire alarm.chicken coop next door is overgrown with no chickens and I believe a skunk is living there and we heard it screaming at night. We had to keep dog/child away. Neighboring house by same owner goes for similar price and seems to be much nicer.

The house was very spacious and had everything we needed. Some of the photos were outdated and don\'t show the current condition (severe wear on couches, damage on shelf in upstairs bathroom).There were a few things I didn\'t see in the description that I would\'ve found helpful so I\'m leaving these for anyone thinking about staying here. The "front" door to the house is perpendicular to the road and there is a u-shaped driveway that goes around the house. The photos show a small brown house that looks like it\'s next to you, but the house is behind you and there are other driveways on either side of the u-shaped driveway. We stayed in March and it was very quiet, but I imagine this could get busy and loud in the summer. Overall everything was very comfortable, but we did see and clean up a lot of dust bunnies, spider webs, crumbs, etc. and replaced multiple light bulbs when we were there. The house is generally taken care of but I think a few upgrades and some more cleaning would make a big difference.

The cottage was an okay visit. While it appeared to have been attempted to be restored, there was improvement still needed. From the paint chipping off the walls to the drab paint on the walls. The cottage also had a dusty smell as if it hadn’t been aired out in awhile, which was shown by some of the dust collected on the shades. The remotes were sticky which was a quick turn off. There was no patio furniture or hammock set up as in the photos. The heating system was efficient and there was a clear attempt at trying to make the place feel comfortable. The location was a good location in Westerly, other than having a chicken coop on the property and being downwind from a farm.

The location of the home was really nice. Some concerns/issues: ants crawling all over the downstairs bathroom ceiling and in one of the bedrooms as well. Caked on dishes in dishwasher and in the cabinet? Ant traps in the beds? A real turnoff as far as cleanliness but we are certainly not neat freaks so wasn’t a dealbreaker.

My family had an adequate stay at the beach cottage. The owner was easy to get in touch with prior to booking and being able to bring our dogs was a plus. Had I read the reviews prior, the steep stairs may have been a concern considering I have a father recovering from cancer treatment and a 6\'9" partner, which made getting in and out of the house difficult. The price point is also a bit higher than other weekly rentals in the area, but having A/C*, linens that are provided, and access to a washer and dryer was nice. Had the owner informed me of the 10% discount for cash (a change listed after we booked), I would have been happy to oblige. *Suggestion: Bring fans to cool down the bedrooms at night. I would also like to point out that the "short 1 mile walk to the closest beach" is only accessible during the off-season. This was very misleading. The only beach you have access to during the summer months is over 2 miles away. We ended up driving and made the best of it but would have preferred walking.

The location of this home was excellent- one mile from beaches and a nice park at the end of the street. The home felt a bit cramped- very small bathroom and had a hard time opening windows when it cooled down. Hosts were nice and responsive when we had WiFi issues.

Pet friendly, good location but not sure where the ocean view is that's listed in the description. Bathroom is tiny. The bed was comfortable however it would be difficult for any one on the petite side to get in as it sits extremely high. Probably a,10" mattress on top of a 10" box spring on a raised bed (probably could just use the mattress) No paper towels. If you use towels the property owner wants you to wash them. Washer and dryer are in the basement and there are no handrails on basement steps. A major liability issue if someone would take a tumble. The location was great and close to many things.and for the price it wasn't bad. However on that note i would recommend making some improvements such as new windows (old & dirty) and replacing worn out torn sofa with a sofa bed. If those improvements were made I would be willing to pay more and return again.

We only stayed one night to attend a family party so were at the property very little. It fit the needs we had. We originally needed 10 people and a dog but no dog and 6 people were all that ended up staying last minute. There were (and still are) dishes in the dishwasher. No idea if they were clean or not. Floors weren't clean, my kids socks had dog and human hair on them minutes after getting there. Have to wash and dry any towels used before you go, which was odd and also an inconvenience since we couldn't use hand towels any more. Stairs to upstairs are VERY steep but fine for us. Overall fine, very expensive after fees especially for off summer season since its near the coast but we had little other choices in the area to accommodate what we originally planned . Hosts graciously let us check in early since no one was checking out that day and very responsive. Overall spacious house and property and 2 full bathrooms were nice. House and furniture a little dated or worn but comfortable.

Our family came up and stayed here for my sons graduation from URI. It was perfect for what we needed. There was six of us and we had plenty of room. The couches and beds were comfortable and everything we needed was provided. Really good location to the school and also very close to nice beaches which we had time to check out while we were there

Great location. AC. Kinda buggy, had to plug some holes and cracks. Painfully small bathroom. Uncomfortable bed. Hard mattress and pillows, creaky bed frame. Was reluctant to return here every night to suffer though the bed. No door mat, kitchen towels or bath mat. WiFi is from the other house, signal only reaches the front rooms. My family was staying in two other cabins nearby and they were much nicer at a similar price, so shop around.

This property met the minimal requirements for a stay - the beds and bathrooms and kitchen were there, and they were clean. Otherwise, this place lacks about everything else. The furniture was either non existent (no side tables, no coffee table, no lamps in family room, no rugs) or absolutely gross - three pieces in family room were so beat up and threadbare that we questioned whether we wanted to sit on them. There were 7 bath towels, all threadbare. There were linens in the dryer (which they told us about after our arrival), we could not get the dishwasher to work, the stairs leading to the basement level, where two bedrooms and one bath are located, are so narrow and steep that if you have anyone with ANY mobility issue, they would be considered unsafe. In short, this place is marginal at best. Wouldn't take much to make it even a little bit charming, but that effort has not been made. A cheesy motel would have been much cheaper and gotten us the same result.

For the price this VRBO is acceptable for people for whom the average offering is expensive. We were within 30 minutes of Mystic CT, Stonington, CT and Watch Hill RI. We had excellent meals in Mystic (The Mystic Diner for Sunday Brunch), the Breakwater in Stonington, CT for Saturday night dinner and dinner Sunday night at the Weekapaug Inn in Westerly, RI. Sunday shopping in Mystic was great. We stick to the shops along RTE 1 in Mystic rather than the Outlets along Rte 95 which were teaming with business. We are familiar with the area and found our lodging in Westerly acceptable. We did not use the kitchen for cooking although it was well equipped. The stairs between the two levels are very steep. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were very clean. We were disappointed not to be able to use the Amazon Flashstick provided with the 50 inch flatscreen TV in the living room. The hosts should have inspected this equipment because too late we discovered that there were no batteries in the Flashstick's remote control. No spare batteries could be found and even after having messaged the hosts, no further help was offered. It was the only complaint we had. After all, who carries spare batteries when traveling.?

Great all around place to stay. Owner was very generous in making last minute adjustments to our stay.

We had a pleasant stay in this property and the location is very nice. The only issue is we had some trouble with contacting the property manager regarding the trash.

Nice, quiet place for our family and dogs. Excellent beach access. Close to any place we wanted to go. Would absolutely stay again.

This house in Westerly was a nice base camp for our family's first ever visit to New England. It is very close to the beaches, Watch Hill, Mystic, grocery store, and Walmart. Newport is a short drive. Our hosts were great at communicating with us and very accommodating to our needs. Although we didn't spend much time at the property, we enjoyed the amenities while we were there.
