This was the perfect house for 3 Dads and their 14-15 yr olds for a weekend lacrosse tournament. The house was clean and spacious. The owner went over and above to welcome us and make us feel at home. The boys loved the kayaks, swimming and the beach. The Dads enjoyed the outdoor area, fire pit and grilling. All the beach supplies were on hand. Easy and quick communications with the owner.

The beach is right outside the back door and there is minimal waves and current. The kids did not get out of the water all week. The house is also nicely stocked with anything you may forget.

We had a girls weekend here & it was fabulous! Very clean, spacious, comfortable home. Watched the sunset every evening. Owner supplied lots of snacks, every bathroom/toiletry imaginable, flip flops, plenty of towels & outdoor & beach chairs. Comfortable beds, plenty of bath towels. All in all a perfect stay. Owner very responsive to questions. Very private for beach home. Highly recommend!

I spent the past weekend at this fantastic, peaceful home and am planning on going back next year. Everything about the listing and the other reviews are spot on. Great views, well stocked kitchen, everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom spotless, the TV nice and big! What I think is missing (or at least I missed them while reading about the home) are some details that were important to me. The outside table with the sectional sofa is actually a propane firepit - that was a very nice surprise. The bed had two types of pillows - foam and traditional for those who like one over the other. The bathroom was stocked with a few commonly forgotten necessities like toothbrushes and moisturizer. The kitchen has a Keurig for those who like pods and regular grounds for those who like drip. And there was a nice set of snack sized cookies, crackers, etc for those in need of a quick snack. One of my favorite VRBO's yet.

We had an absolutely amazing time spending our family vacation here! With many small children, the bay side water without big waves was PERFECT for our young swimmers and made sitting on the beach much more relaxing for us parents. The sunset views are incredible, and all of the extra water sports gear (paddle boards, kayaks, floats, etc) provided plenty for everyone to do! The neighborhood was VERY quiet, and we typically only saw 1-2 other people out on the beach. Owners were very responsive, very quickly fixed a small issue we had with the TV, and included more extra amenities than I have ever had at a rental (including snacks, beach sandals, extra toiletry items that may have been forgotten, toys, books, games, etc). We definitely hope to return again soon!

The location was great for us because it was relatively close to Newark, DE and Philadelphia. Water views were great from so much of the house and owners had thought of every possible touch to make people feel at home. There were plenty of outlets, chargers, TVs, tables & chairs, hooks in bathrooms, nightlights, etc. The fridge was free of all sorts of open condiments that are probably supposed to be helpful for guests but that drive my husband crazy as they've taken up half the fridge in the last couple of houses we've stayed in. It was too cold and windy for us to enjoy the outdoors while we were there but owners had flip-flops, towels, hats, bug spray, sunscreen etc in case people forget something. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an excellent weekend. Beautiful view with the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The house was perfect, right on the beach, very clean and comfortable. So many extras such as coffee, snacks, towels, linens, toiletries and more. Fantastic outdoor amenities, such as fire pit, kayak/canoe, beach chairs and more. The host was wonderful, as well, kind and understanding. He was very accommodating to a personal request that we had. We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful home. We would highly recommend this place and we would love to come back.

The house was well setup and easy to get into. The living area is all open so it was good for a group to enjoy time together. Outside on the beach was well setup with multiple options for seating and gas fire pit on the deck as well as a fire pit down by the water. Seeing the big boats pass by was interesting, especially at night. Rooms were comfy and everyone slept well. Salem is an interesting town and I would recommend passing it by. There is a package store a couple of miles down the road from the house that was convenient. Other than that I would recommend going further away. About 15-30 minutes away are some nicer towns. Overall the stay was good and host was responsive. I would recommend.

My family and I had a wonder time at this house Labor day weekend. The house was very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. Beautiful sunsets off the back deck. We used the firepit on the beach almost every night. We enjoyed the Shipyard for drinks and music we rented a firepit here .Would highly recommend.

We were very impressed with this property and had a wonderful stay! The house is clean, updated, open floor plan and lovely and you step right out onto a private deck and beach. Water was calm for the kids to play in and when they needed a break it was just steps back to the house. For being a beachfront property, it was actually quiet and secluded too, and for most of the week it was just our family playing on the beach or in the water. The owner supplied everything and was such a gracious host. Linens, regular towels, beach towels, water shoes, flip flops, kayak, paddle board, beach toys, umbrellas, beach chairs, toiletries, care package, etc were all provided! The house was very well stocked as well! We were so happy with the house!!! Not as much to do in the nearby area but if you are looking to just stay on the beach then it’s perfect!

Our stay at Oakwood Beach exceeded our expectations! Communications with the host, John, were all positive. The information packet was helpful. When we had one question concerning the operation of the outdoor fireplace, John promptly gave us help. The beach area had the feel and sound of the ocean. We took many pleasant walks on the beach. The house was very clean and there were many small touches such as toiletries, flip flops, sunscreen, etc that indicates the effort by the hosts to provide a pleasant experience. Perhaps the highest praise we can give is that even before our visit was over, we knew we wanted to come back again!

The house was truly amazing. Very clean and homely. The outside area was great, plenty of seating areas. The master bedroom and ensuite was really nice. The kitchen, well we wish we had that at our home! Sunsets were awesome. Truly an amazing place. Our only slightly negative comment is the water pressure from the faucet and master shower was really slow. But apart from that a fantastic and truly relaxing time. The house looks just like the pictures only better :) The owner has little personal touches everywhere, just like a home away from home.

This house exceeded our expectations! From the pictures, we knew it would be beautiful, but once we got there it seemed so much bigger and brighter than what the pictures show. Its so light and airy and was perfect for what we came for. It was VERY clean, each bedroom came with towels and makeup wipes. You can tell the hosts put a lot of thought into this home. We went in the fall, but was still such a wonderful time walking along the quiet beach and having drinks on the patio. Would highly recommend going on the off season with friends or a couple!

My family and I rented this property for our daughter's University of Delaware graduation week. We knew it was 40 minutes from campus but wanted a nice place for our family to stay while we were in town. The house is spotless. Cutely decorated. The set up of the house is spacious but cozy at the same time. The hosts were easy and nice to communicate with. They honestly thought of everything, from coffee pods, bag of ice in the freezer, phone chargers, you name it, they had it.

My family and I rented this property for our daughter's University of Delaware graduation week. At this stay, it was clear the owners love this property and treat it like their second home. We were greeted with a spotless home and every possible amenity, including coffee, wine, music, ambiance, climate control, chargers, and more. It felt like being waited on by a butler who had anticipated our every need. Instructions were easy to follow and everything worked flawlessly. Had there been any problems, it was clear the owners were on-call to respond to our every need. We are picky people and this place suited us to a T. Thank you for creating this perfect refuge.

I spent the past weekend at this fantastic, peaceful home and am planning on going back next year. Everything about the listing and the other reviews are spot on. Great views, well stocked kitchen, everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom spotless, the TV nice and big! What I think is missing (or at least I missed them while reading about the home) are some details that were important to me. The outside table with the sectional sofa is actually a propane firepit - that was a very nice surprise. The bed had two types of pillows - foam and traditional for those who like one over the other. The bathroom was stocked with a few commonly forgotten necessities like toothbrushes and moisturizer. The kitchen has a Keurig for those who like pods and regular grounds for those who like drip. And there was a nice set of snack sized cookies, crackers, etc for those in need of a quick snack. One of my favorite VRBO's yet.

We were in town for a quick weekend and wanted a comfortable place to stay with our kids 17, 10, 8 & 9 mths. The house has plenty of room to stretch out. Kitchen was well stocked with pans, dishes, measuring cups etc. We took advantage of the pack n play and tub for the baby. Loved having the full laundry too. Wished we could have stayed longer!

This exceeded our expectations in every way. A beautiful view, a well=appointed house, and a lovely location. This stretch of beach on the Delaware River is one of NJ's best kept secrets, so it's with a heavy heart that I give such an enthusiastic review. The eight of us could not have had a better stay here over a sunny Thanksgiving week.

The house was truly amazing. Very clean and homely. The outside area was great, plenty of seating areas. The master bedroom and ensuite was really nice. The kitchen, well we wish we had that at our home! Sunsets were awesome. Truly an amazing place. Our only slightly negative comment is the water pressure from the faucet and master shower was really slow. But apart from that a fantastic and truly relaxing time. The house looks just like the pictures only better :) The owner has little personal touches everywhere, just like a home away from home.

Arriving there is a quiet neighborhood feel … and then there’s the back side … like a condo on the beach vibe . Beautiful sunrise and sunsets . The house was very updated and classy . House was comfortable for 8 adults and 3 small children . The host was Amazing always responding immediately to my every question and concerns.

The house was well setup and easy to get into. The living area is all open so it was good for a group to enjoy time together. Outside on the beach was well setup with multiple options for seating and gas fire pit on the deck as well as a fire pit down by the water. Seeing the big boats pass by was interesting, especially at night. Rooms were comfy and everyone slept well. Salem is an interesting town and I would recommend passing it by. There is a package store a couple of miles down the road from the house that was convenient. Other than that I would recommend going further away. About 15-30 minutes away are some nicer towns. Overall the stay was good and host was responsive. I would recommend.

This house exceeded our expectations! From the pictures, we knew it would be beautiful, but once we got there it seemed so much bigger and brighter than what the pictures show. Its so light and airy and was perfect for what we came for. It was VERY clean, each bedroom came with towels and makeup wipes. You can tell the hosts put a lot of thought into this home. We went in the fall, but was still such a wonderful time walking along the quiet beach and having drinks on the patio. Would highly recommend going on the off season with friends or a couple!

My family and I rented this property for our daughter's University of Delaware graduation week. We knew it was 40 minutes from campus but wanted a nice place for our family to stay while we were in town. The house is spotless. Cutely decorated. The set up of the house is spacious but cozy at the same time. The hosts were easy and nice to communicate with. They honestly thought of everything, from coffee pods, bag of ice in the freezer, phone chargers, you name it, they had it.

We were very impressed with this property and had a wonderful stay! The house is clean, updated, open floor plan and lovely and you step right out onto a private deck and beach. Water was calm for the kids to play in and when they needed a break it was just steps back to the house. For being a beachfront property, it was actually quiet and secluded too, and for most of the week it was just our family playing on the beach or in the water. The owner supplied everything and was such a gracious host. Linens, regular towels, beach towels, water shoes, flip flops, kayak, paddle board, beach toys, umbrellas, beach chairs, toiletries, care package, etc were all provided! The house was very well stocked as well! We were so happy with the house!!! Not as much to do in the nearby area but if you are looking to just stay on the beach then it’s perfect!

Our stay at Oakwood Beach exceeded our expectations! Communications with the host, John, were all positive. The information packet was helpful. When we had one question concerning the operation of the outdoor fireplace, John promptly gave us help. The beach area had the feel and sound of the ocean. We took many pleasant walks on the beach. The house was very clean and there were many small touches such as toiletries, flip flops, sunscreen, etc that indicates the effort by the hosts to provide a pleasant experience. Perhaps the highest praise we can give is that even before our visit was over, we knew we wanted to come back again!

This was the perfect house for 3 Dads and their 14-15 yr olds for a weekend lacrosse tournament. The house was clean and spacious. The owner went over and above to welcome us and make us feel at home. The boys loved the kayaks, swimming and the beach. The Dads enjoyed the outdoor area, fire pit and grilling. All the beach supplies were on hand. Easy and quick communications with the owner.

I have rented many vacation houses over the years and this is undoubtedly the best equipped house I have ever rented. Our group included two 2 year olds and there were many provisions for them, including a life jacket. We had a couple of minor blips that were quickly responded to by John. The house and easy communication made for a wonderful family vacation.

We had an absolutely amazing time spending our family vacation here! With many small children, the bay side water without big waves was PERFECT for our young swimmers and made sitting on the beach much more relaxing for us parents. The sunset views are incredible, and all of the extra water sports gear (paddle boards, kayaks, floats, etc) provided plenty for everyone to do! The neighborhood was VERY quiet, and we typically only saw 1-2 other people out on the beach. Owners were very responsive, very quickly fixed a small issue we had with the TV, and included more extra amenities than I have ever had at a rental (including snacks, beach sandals, extra toiletry items that may have been forgotten, toys, books, games, etc). We definitely hope to return again soon!

Hosts couldn’t have been better. Communication excellent. The place was clean and the house was beautiful. Everything you need is in the home including flip flops for the beach!! We had an excellent weekend. Beautiful view with the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The house was perfect, right on the beach, very clean and comfortable. The home owners did a great job of having everything you would need for stay at the beach. The beach was quiet and accessible from the back yard. There was a spot in the house for every family member to hang out and enjoy time relaxing. The sunsets were just stunning. Great panaramic view from the living room.

Our family had a wonderful weekend all under one roof…every parents dream once your children become adults. The house was perfect for us…6 adults, our 2 year old granddaughter and a little dog. The location was great for us because it was relatively close to Newark, DE and Philadelphia. Water views were great from so much of the house and owners had thought of every possible touch to make people feel at home. There were plenty of outlets, chargers, TVs, tables & chairs, hooks in bathrooms, nightlights, etc. The fridge was free of all sorts of open condiments that are probably supposed to be helpful for guests but that drive my husband crazy as they've taken up half the fridge in the last couple of houses we've stayed in. It was too cold and windy for us to enjoy the outdoors while we were there but owners had flip-flops, towels, hats, bug spray, sunscreen etc in case people forget something. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a nice visit to this beautiful, waterfront home, and appreciated the host very much. The views from the beach were lovely. Unfortunately, we were woken several times overnight one night by ships’ foghorns as they passed by- every few hours. Even the white noise machines (a thoughtful touch) didn’t help. Not sure how to predict when the ships come through, but we slept soundly the second of our two nights there. The area is otherwise very quiet- we barely saw anyone else around. The Bankers and Farmers brewery in a neighboring town was a nice outing, as was the walk at Fort Mott.

This is the second year that my wife and I joined my daughter's family at this house. We chose it for its location on the river and it having a beach. We brought a small sailboat with us and had a great time on the river and the beach. The layout suited our needs with a downstairs master bedroom. We attended the Cow Town rodeo on Saturday night and enjoyed it. The host maintained good communication via the app. We would recommend this as a great place to stay for a good time on the water.

This is the second year that my wife and I joined my daughter's family at this house. We chose it for its location on the river and it having a beach. We brought a small sailboat with us and had a great time on the river and the beach. The layout suited our needs with a downstairs master bedroom. We attended the Cow Town rodeo on Saturday night and enjoyed it. The host maintained good communication via the app. We would recommend this as a great place to stay for a good time on the water.

We were very impressed with this property and had a wonderful stay! The house is clean, updated, open floor plan and lovely and you step right out onto a private deck and beach. Water was calm for the kids to play in and when they needed a break it was just steps back to the house. For being a beachfront property, it was actually quiet and secluded too, and for most of the week it was just our family playing on the beach or in the water. The owner supplied everything and was such a gracious host. Linens, regular towels, beach towels, water shoes, flip flops, kayak, paddle board, beach toys, umbrellas, beach chairs, toiletries, care package, etc were all provided! The house was very well stocked as well! We were so happy with the house!!! Not as much to do in the nearby area but if you are looking to just stay on the beach then it’s perfect!

This was the perfect house for 3 Dads and their 14-15 yr olds for a weekend lacrosse tournament. The house was clean and spacious. The owner went over and above to welcome us and make us feel at home. The boys loved the kayaks, swimming and the beach. The Dads enjoyed the outdoor area, fire pit and grilling. All the beach supplies were on hand. Easy and quick communications with the owner.

We had a girls weekend here & it was fabulous! Very clean, spacious, comfortable home. Watched the sunset every evening. Owner supplied lots of snacks, every bathroom/toiletry imaginable, flip flops, plenty of towels & outdoor & beach chairs. Comfortable beds, plenty of bath towels. All in all a perfect stay. Owner very responsive to questions. Very private for beach home. Highly recommend!

I spent the past weekend at this fantastic, peaceful home and am planning on going back next year. Everything about the listing and the other reviews are spot on. Great views, well stocked kitchen, everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom spotless, the TV nice and big! What I think is missing (or at least I missed them while reading about the home) are some details that were important to me. The outside table with the sectional sofa is actually a propane firepit - that was a very nice surprise. The bed had two types of pillows - foam and traditional for those who like one over the other. The bathroom was stocked with a few commonly forgotten necessities like toothbrushes and moisturizer. The kitchen has a Keurig for those who like pods and regular grounds for those who like drip. And there was a nice set of snack sized cookies, crackers, etc for those in need of a quick snack. One of my favorite VRBO's yet.

We were in town for a quick weekend and wanted a comfortable place to stay with our kids 17, 10, 8 & 9 mths. The house has plenty of room to stretch out. Kitchen was well stocked with pans, dishes, measuring cups etc. We took advantage of the pack n play and tub for the baby. Loved having the full laundry too. Wished we could have stayed longer!

The location was great for us because it was relatively close to Newark, DE and Philadelphia. Water views were great from so much of the house and owners had thought of every possible touch to make people feel at home. There were plenty of outlets, chargers, TVs, tables & chairs, hooks in bathrooms, nightlights, etc. The fridge was free of all sorts of open condiments that are probably supposed to be helpful for guests but that drive my husband crazy as they've taken up half the fridge in the last couple of houses we've stayed in. It was too cold and windy for us to enjoy the outdoors while we were there but owners had flip-flops, towels, hats, bug spray, sunscreen etc in case people forget something. We would definitely stay here again.

We had an excellent weekend. Beautiful view with the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The house was perfect, right on the beach, very clean and comfortable. So many extras such as coffee, snacks, towels, linens, toiletries and more. Fantastic outdoor amenities, such as fire pit, kayak/canoe, beach chairs and more. The host was wonderful, as well, kind and understanding. He was very accommodating to a personal request that we had. We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful home. We would highly recommend this place and we would love to come back.

My family and I rented this property for our daughter's University of Delaware graduation week. We knew it was 40 minutes from campus but wanted a nice place for our family to stay while we were in town. The house is spotless. Cutely decorated. The set up of the house is spacious but cozy at the same time. The hosts were easy and nice to communicate with. They honestly thought of everything, from coffee pods, bag of ice in the freezer, phone chargers, you name it, they had it.

We've stayed at dozens of vacation rentals, but usually, they're spartan - providing the essentials, but otherwise leaving it to us to provide everything. At this stay, it was clear the owners love this property and treat it like their second home. We were greeted with a spotless home and every possible amenity, including coffee, wine, music, ambiance, climate control, chargers, and more. It felt like being waited on by a butler who had anticipated our every need. Instructions were easy to follow and everything worked flawlessly. Had there been any problems, it was clear the owners were on-call to respond to our every need. We are picky people and this place suited us to a T. Thank you for creating this perfect refuge.

My family and I had a wonder time at this house Labor day weekend. The house was very clean. The kitchen is well equipped. Beautiful sunsets off the back deck. We used the firepit on the beach almost every night. We enjoyed the Shipyard for drinks and music we rented a firepit here .Would highly recommend.

Our family had such a wonderful stay! The house was great, very clean and updated, with lots of nice touches like extra snacks, sunscreen, flip-flops, and beach towels conveniently located by the back door! There was plenty of room for large or extended families, with ample seating inside and out, and gorgeous views through the wall of windows all along the back! The deck was just perfect, we loved the outdoor dining area, as well as the comfy outdoor sectional for family hang-outs. The beach access was super convenient, great for families with small children who don't want to carry beach gear and toys too far! As nature-lovers, we were excited to see a variety of birds, including egrets, loons, cormorants, seagulls, mockingbirds, and swallows! The beautiful sunsets were icing on the cake! We couldn't have asked for a better location!
