The location was great. Hot tub with lots of privacy and fire pit by the ocean with firewood supplied. Lots of stuff to do and see close by

Loved the location. Felt isolated, but close to highway access and all the near major towns. Lots of cutlery and kitchen options including blender, oyster shucker, and BBQ. Patio had seating for all. Separate bedroom for the kids with their own bathroom on their own floor was a lifesaver for any parent. As a parent, the washer and dryer was a huge help. In all, we enjoyed our whole week and at a reasonable price. We appreciate that there was a binder with lots of information, which is how we fould Fanny Oysters so close for raw oysters. If we ever find ourselves on the island again, we will be staying here. If we know someone going to the island, will recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Buckley Bay! We had our toddler in tow and the playpen/baby gate available were greatly appreciated. Lots of grass for our little one to run around and we loved exploring the beach out front. The house has everything you could need to feel at home (the beds were especially comfortable). We can’t wait to return and will be recommending it to our friends and family!

We are two couples, all over 59 who stayed here for several nights in June, 2024. We found that listing of on-site property amenities was misleading as bicycles, golf, kayaks, water park, and water sports equipment were not on-site. There is a great view of the water from the house and upper deck, however, it was not a peaceful stay as there is a high volume of traffic and noise throughout the day and night. The property has a row windows on the second floor facing East to see the sun rise. However, when this room heats up, there are no window or patio door screens to let air flow through or window blinds to shield the room heating up. This made staying in the room uncomfortable. As there is no AC, and without window screens to let air in and keep the bugs out, the bedroom also heated up and we had sleepless nights. There is no ceiling fan in the bedroom and using the portable fans are loud and noisy. The booking and communication with the host before we arrived was very good and the host shared a lot of good island spots to visit. However, there was no communication from the host (who was on vacation) or the property manager (Natasha) to our questions and concerns during our stay. Just a note to say that the beach is not sandy and made up of rock, clams, oysters and other crustaceans which makes it difficult to walk on. Fantastic location, wonderful house set up and excellent amenities. Truly. The hosts thought of everything. The host was responsive and the property was everything as advertised. Perhaps I’m a little naive, but I found the price a little high. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we intend to go back. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at the beach house. Amazing waterfront location and greenspace made it easy to keep kids entertained. Views were spectacular and it was such a quiet and relaxing locating with the sounds of the creek down the side of the propery. Perfect stay with everything we needed, including a travel crib. Highly recommend!

The house is beautiful, the surroundings serene. It made for a wonderfully relaxing 4 days. So much to see from the deck including the ferry to Denman Island across the way. Playful seals kept us entertained just off the beach, where we had a fire in the fure pit

Had a lovely few days at Buckley Bay. John was a wonderful communicator leading up to our trip with lots of helpful information and suggestions.The property was beautiful, clean and perfectly laid out for our family of 5. It is right off the island hwy which is great from a location perspective and the Fanny bay oyster shop is just down the road with amazing seafood!The kids had lots of fun between the grassy area and the beach and you can’t beat waking up to the beautiful ocean view and cooking in the kitchen. The hot tub was a big hit too! Literally the only tiny criticism is the main bedroom faces the road so with the window open you can hear some traffic but closed no issues. We had an awesome time visiting all the local places, eating crab, playing spike ball, we could have stayed a week longer! Thank you John and Sue, we’ll be back! 😁

The house was very clean and centrally located for our needs. Close to shopping and dining plus hiking and biking. Right on the water for great views. John and Sue are great hosts and gave us good information on things to do.

We loved the view of the water, Denman Island and the ferries crossing. The house provided separate sleeping areas for our adult son and a large open kitchen, dining and living area to enjoy together. The weather was cool and rainy so we were not able to take advantage of the outdoor area.

My family had a great time at the Beach House. We explored the Trent River looking for fossils and swam in the shallow pools, swam and paddle boarded in the Comox Lake Dam, and mountain biked in Cumberland. There isn't a lack of activities to do in this area. We also relaxed on the deck overlooking the view of the water and Denman Island. We took a day trip to Hornby Island and went to Tribune Bay to laze on the beach and take a dip in the ocean. I would definitely recommend this home to others. Make sure to bring ear plugs for the upstairs bedroom as it is next to a road with loud vehicles, but this is minimal compared to everything else that is wonderful about our stay!

John and Sue are amazing owners who ensure your stay meets and exceeds your expectations. They are accessible for any questions you may have, but also give you the privacy to enjoy their property and all it has to offer. Our party of six loved our early morning paddle sessions and the ease of using a wonderful trail that lead from the property into the open ocean.

Just a note to say that the beach is not sandy and made up of rock, clams, oysters and other crustaceans which makes it difficult to walk on. We are two couples, all over 59 who stayed here for several nights in June, 2024. We found that listing of on-site property amenities was misleading as bicycles, golf, kayaks, water park, and water sports equipment were not on-site. There is a great view of the water from the house and upper deck, however, it was not a peaceful stay as there is a high volume of traffic and noise throughout the day and night. The property has a row windows on the second floor facing East to see the sun rise. However, when this room heats up, there are no window or patio door screens to let air flow through or window blinds to shield the room heating up. This made staying in the room uncomfortable. As there is no AC, and without window screens to let air in and keep the bugs out, the bedroom also heated up and we had sleepless nights. There is no ceiling fan in the bedroom and using the portable fans are loud and noisy. The booking and communication with the host before we arrived was very good and the host shared a lot of good island spots to visit. However, there was no communication from the host (who was on vacation) or the property manager (Natasha) to our questions and concerns during our stay. Had a lovely few days at Buckley Bay. John was a wonderful communicator leading up to our trip with lots of helpful information and suggestions.The property was beautiful, clean and perfectly laid out for our family of 5. It is right off the island hwy which is great from a location perspective and the Fanny bay oyster shop is just down the road with amazing seafood!The kids had lots of fun between the grassy area and the beach and you can’t beat waking up to the beautiful ocean view and cooking in the kitchen. The hot tub was a big hit too! Literally the only tiny criticism is the main bedroom faces the road so with the window open you can hear some traffic but closed no issues. We had an awesome time visiting all the local places, eating crab, playing spike ball, we could have stayed a week longer! Thank you John and Sue, we’ll be back! 😁

The house was very clean and centrally located for our needs. Close to shopping and dining plus hiking and biking. Right on the water for great views. John and Sue are great hosts and gave us good information on things to do.

Fantastic stay at the beach house. Peaceful and quiet. The hosts were very communicative and friendly, but also gave us total privacy. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. Very comfortable! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay! The deck was the highlight! Beautiful views to enjoy your morning coffee with! It’s perfectly located between Courtney and Parksville. Would definitely stay here again!

Loved the location. Felt isolated, but close to highway access and all the near major towns. Lots of cutlery and kitchen options including blender, oyster shucker, and BBQ. Patio had seating for all. Separate bedroom for the kids with their own bathroom on their own floor was a lifesaver for any parent. As a parent, the washer and dryer was a huge help. In all, we enjoyed our whole week and at a reasonable price. We appreciate that there was a binder with lots of information, which is how we fould Fanny Oysters so close for raw oysters. If we ever find ourselves on the island again, we will be staying here. If we know someone going to the island, will recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at the beach house. Amazing waterfront location and greenspace made it easy to keep kids entertained. Views were spectacular and it was such a quiet and relaxing locating with the sounds of the creek down the side of the propery. Perfect stay with everything we needed, including a travel crib. Highly recommend!

My family had a great time at the Beach House. We explored the Trent River looking for fossils and swam in the shallow pools, swam and paddle boarded in the Comox Lake Dam, and mountain biked in Cumberland. There isn't a lack of activities to do in this area. We also relaxed on the deck overlooking the view of the water and Denman Island. We took a day trip to Hornby Island and went to Tribune Bay to laze on the beach and take a dip in the ocean. I would definitely recommend this home to others. Make sure to bring ear plugs for the upstairs bedroom as it is next to a road with loud vehicles, but this is minimal compared to everything else that is wonderful about our stay!

Nice quiet location with wonderful views and walks in and around the property. Slight downside is the lack of restaurants in the immediate area. Another consideration is it is challenging for anyone with mobility concerns.
