We spent a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage. Inside, it was comfortable and well-appointed, and the views outside were spectacular. The outside spaces in particular, both the porch and fire pit area, were wonderful, and the location is so convenient. Highly recommend!

The Mountain View escape is absolute perfection! Aster responds quickly to any questions, making the booking and initial convos delightful.The house is easy to find, immaculate, and thoughtfully appointed. All of the small things that make a vacation property feel like home are within: pillows, ottoman, placemats, coasters, tissues, plentiful towels, cooking supplies, stocked pantry, clean grill, luxurious bedding, and wonderful shower supplies. The bathroom and bedroom are generously proportioned, so though the overall house is small, the rooms where you spend the most time feel large and spacious.There are three different outdoor seating areas. Two chairs outside the bedroom provided shade and a perfect spot for breakfast and coffee. The high seating by the umbrella were perfect for lunch and afternoon drinks with a view, and the fire pit area perfect for reading, talking, and relaxation. Did I mention this house also makes you feel like a cartoon princess? We had daily visitors, including several does, a fawn, rabbits, chipmunks, and the usual birds. It's a great place to sit outside and watch nature. Incredibly relaxing!The WiFi was great, there's a bluetooth speaker for music, plentiful entertainment options, including chess, checkers, backgammon, and puzzles. It's maybe a 25-minute drive to Lake Minnewaska and Mohonk Preserve (we may not have taken the most direct route, so check for yourselves!) and close to the Rail Trail for a paved walk.We'll be back!

Adorable, good size cottage on a beautiful property. It had an enjoyable view of the mountains. We enjoyed morning coffee on the outside decks and seating areas every morning and relaxed on the deck at the end of the deck as well. The Hammock was well used. In a perfect spot for relaxation and shade. The bedding was top notch. We have stayed in many hotels around the World and by far the bedding was A, would love to know where the owner purchased. We saw deer in the yard. It was very relaxing. Weren't able to enjoy the fire pit, no real access to starters and wood, or lighter. Also, not sure why, but the refrigerator was over 1/2 full. The items were already open and not something that was appealing to use. We enjoyed the availability of the backgammon set.

The cottage is very comfortable. Nicely equipped kitchen, great king size bed, wonderfully stocked pantry and fridge (did I eat too many Klondike bars?), and beautiful deck with a peaceful viewi and atmosphere. On our next visit, we will definitely try out the fire pit. It was a comfort to return to the cottage after our day hiking trips, and the Things You Should Know binder led us to some great food.

Wonderful long holiday weekend, visiting multiple local wineries during the day and enjoying main street New Paltz for dinner in the evenings. This property is perfect for a long weekend escape with your significant other... plenty of space, huge yard, beautifully renovated cottage. We look forward to a return visit!

The location of this home is perfect, between the town of New Paltz and Lake Minnewaska. It is a short bike ride from the Wallkill Valley Trail. The view is amazing. For nature lovers, there were several deer walking the property every day. Firepit was great! Need to purchase your own wood unless you are lucky to have the previous person leave some. Most important, the home was extremely comfortable, clean, updated, stocked with mostly everything you need. Even had coffee, creamer, tea and snacks just to mention a few. Definitely will go back.

A very nice place in every way,higly recommended! The only thing which is hardly worth mentioning was there were no lights of any kind by the Campfire, so i wished I had 2 arms while making Smores & held flashlight lol!-but hey,still worth it & I'd like to go again sometime!

We had an incredible stay at this gorgeous home with cozy fireplace and breathtaking views of the Shawangunk mountains. The home was beautifully furnished and well-equipped, making it feel like a luxurious home away from home. The highlight was relaxing by the fire pit under the stars, creating an unforgettable experience.

We had an excellent stay at this cabin. Check-in and checkout were smooth and easy. The interior was super cozy, well-decorated, and very clean, with an impressively well-stocked kitchen. Almost all the major hikes in the area were 10-15 minutes away, and New Paltz was just as close. Aster was very responsive and gracious as a host, and even allowed us to stay a few extra hours so we could watch the solar eclipse from the backyard. Only regret was not making use of the fire pit.

We had an extremely great time at this rental house and were blown away how the layout of the house provided all our conveniences. It was clean spacious and beautifully arranged as seen in pics online . It was our mountain escape dream and we would definitely recommend and stay here again .

Mountain View Escape is beautifully furnished and impeccably maintained. The bedroom is like a luxury hotel room with a super-sized king bed and luxurious linens. The grounds are spacious and delighted my young dog. I loved the quiet, low key neighborhood, which is conveniently close to Gardiner and New Paltz. I could not recommend the place more highly.

I felt like I was staying in a HGTV giveaway home. The house itself is so amazingly beautiful with mountain views in the back. But ontop of that is all of the thought that went into making it feel like a home. This is by far one of the BEST places I ever stayed in.

This home may be small, but it’s huge in charm and details. There’s beautiful decor tastefully done through out the home. The bedroom is romantic and cozy with antiques in every little nook. The bathroom is like a mini spa with plush towels, robes and great smelling toiletries. A lovely deck, fire pit area and spacious yard is all yours to enjoy. The area has many restaurants, breweries, wineries and endless hiking trails. We had a great time and hope to come back again. Aster is a wonderful host, she treats you with many goodies and your time here will warm your soul.
This home may be small, but it’s huge in charm and details. There’s beautiful decor tastefully done through out the home. The bedroom is romantic and cozy with antiques in every little nook. The bathroom is like a mini spa with plush towels, robes and great smelling toiletries. A lovely deck, fire pit area and spacious yard is all yours to enjoy. The area has many restaurants, breweries, wineries and endless hiking trails. We had a great time and hope to come back again. Beautiful clean modern cabin. In a great area of the Hudson valley. Hikes for the Dog. Wonderful nearby town of New Paltz. And great food and restaurants Aster was always available for advise.

This house is beautifully designed with every detail thought out. Everything you need to cook is available and the bed is very comfortable. We enjoyed the mountain views and adorable ground hog that comes out each morning. It was a perfect quiet getaway just 10 minutes from restaurants in New Paltz.

Really cute cottage with a view of Skytop and the mountains. Quiet location. Fully equipped kitchen. Enjoyed our stay very much.

Mountain View Escape is beautifully furnished and impeccably maintained. The bedroom is like a luxury hotel room with a super-sized king bed and luxurious linens. The grounds are spacious and delighted my young dog. I loved the quiet, low key neighborhood, which is conveniently close to Gardiner and New Paltz. I could not recommend the place more highly.

We had an excellent stay at this cabin. Check-in and checkout were smooth and easy. The interior was super cozy, well-decorated, and very clean, with an impressively well-stocked kitchen. Almost all the major hikes in the area were 10-15 minutes away, and New Paltz was just as close. Aster was very responsive and gracious as a host, and even allowed us to stay a few extra hours so we could watch the solar eclipse from the backyard. Only regret was not making use of the fire pit.

Five star experience!!! We enjoyed our stay in Aster’s beautiful home. The furnishings were gorgeous and host went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable. The house had everything you would expect in a rental and more! It was fun watching the deer come up and eat the pears that had fallen off the tree. We had a wonderful time. Would definitely stay here again!!!

Mountain View Escape was one of the best VRBO vacation homes we've stayed in. The cabin was very well appointed with everything you could need including snacks, plenty of linen, and laundry supplies. The location was perfect for us and the property was beautiful with views of the Gunks. Quiet locations and the owners are local and communication with then was easy.

We went for the weekend to get away with our pup and couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay!! If you’re thinking about booking don’t hesitate. Aster was very communicative from the point I booked and check in and out couldn’t be easier. The home is beautiful. From the moment you step in you feel relaxed in this cozy cabin. The attention to detail is phenomenal and the kitchen is well stocked with anything you could need during your stay. We will be back and recommend the cabin to family and friends!

This clean and tastefully decorated home sits on a spacious and well manicured piece of land with a great view of Skytop. The location cannot be beat - a quiet street, just a few minutes from New Paltz, Gardiner and the Mohonk Preserve. We have been coming to this area for many years to rock climb, usually just roughing it in a tent. So glad we decided to upgrade and found this gem of a home! There’s nothing better than a spa-like shower, high-end bedding, and some fancy Italian chocolates (part of the complimentary snacks) after an active day. We already recommended this rental to several friends and hope to come back soon as well. Thank you, Aster!

The inside and outside of this property is so beautiful. They thought of everything you might need. The quality of everything was also so nice, which made you feel like you were at home. The baby deer in the yard were such an added bonus. The communication was incredible and they are really the sweetest people. We will be back for sure!

We spent a wonderful week in this beautiful cottage. Inside, it was comfortable and well-appointed, and the views outside were spectacular. The outside spaces in particular, both the porch and fire pit area, were wonderful, and the location is so convenient. Highly recommend!

The Mountain View escape is absolute perfection! Aster responds quickly to any questions, making the booking and initial convos delightful.The house is easy to find, immaculate, and thoughtfully appointed. All of the small things that make a vacation property feel like home are within: pillows, ottoman, placemats, coasters, tissues, plentiful towels, cooking supplies, stocked pantry, clean grill, luxurious bedding, and wonderful shower supplies. The bathroom and bedroom are generously proportioned, so though the overall house is small, the rooms where you spend the most time feel large and spacious.There are three different outdoor seating areas. Two chairs outside the bedroom provided shade and a perfect spot for breakfast and coffee. The high seating by the umbrella were perfect for lunch and afternoon drinks with a view, and the fire pit area perfect for reading, talking, and relaxation. Did I mention this house also makes you feel like a cartoon princess? We had daily visitors, including several does, a fawn, rabbits, chipmunks, and the usual birds. It's a great place to sit outside and watch nature. Incredibly relaxing!The WiFi was great, there's a bluetooth speaker for music, plentiful entertainment options, including chess, checkers, backgammon, and puzzles. It's maybe a 25-minute drive to Lake Minnewaska and Mohonk Preserve (we may not have taken the most direct route, so check for yourselves!) and close to the Rail Trail for a paved walk.We'll be back!

The location of this home is perfect, between the town of New Paltz and Lake Minnewaska. It is a short bike ride from the Wallkill Valley Trail. The view is amazing. For nature lovers, there were several deer walking the property every day. Firepit was great! Need to purchase your own wood unless you are lucky to have the previous person leave some. Most important, the home was extremely comfortable, clean, updated, stocked with mostly everything you need. Even had coffee, creamer, tea and snacks just to mention a few. Definitely will go back.

Aster was very communicative from the point I booked and check in and out couldn’t be easier. The home is beautiful. From the moment you step in you feel relaxed in this cozy cabin. The attention to detail is phenomenal and the kitchen is well stocked with anything you could need during your stay. We will be back and recommend the cabin to family and friends!

This clean and tastefully decorated home sits on a spacious and well manicured piece of land with a great view of Skytop. The location cannot be beat - a quiet street, just a few minutes from New Paltz, Gardiner and the Mohonk Preserve. We have been coming to this area for many years to rock climb, usually just roughing it in a tent. So glad we decided to upgrade and found this gem of a home! There’s nothing better than a spa-like shower, high-end bedding, and some fancy Italian chocolates (part of the complimentary snacks) after an active day. We already recommended this rental to several friends and hope to come back soon as well. Thank you, Aster!

This is our second visit to the Mountain House and we hope it’s not our last! This is a clean, well-located, accurately represented house near so many activities in the area. We hiked up by Lake Minnewaska State Park, went to the FDR library in Hyde Park, walked the rail trail, antiqued, and enjoyed the beautiful yard with a stunning view. The host is extremely responsive and keeps the house in great shape. Strongly recommend for a small party who wants to relax and enjoy the local scenery. Also, the bed is amazingly comfortable!

Beautiful place! Absolutely loved staying there and it was even more lovely than the pictures could ever convey. There were 4 or 5 yellowjackets inside when we arrived but after that we really enjoyed our stay. We had messaged the owner for some bug spray but never heard back, though it didn’t end up being a problem. The location is perfect if you’re looking to hike in the area, but the house is so nice that you might not want to even leave!

This was our second stay at this great cabin. We stayed 5 nights with our dog. The cabin is fully equipped with kitchen items, linens, and even dog items. The cabin is clean and the bed is comfortable. Beautiful views in a quiet setting. Close to the rail trail for walks in nature and 10-15 minutes from amenities. Definitely recommend this cabin and it's reasonably priced for what you get.
