My family and I had such a nice stay at Veronica’s peaceful retreat in the city. You walk through the garden to get to the basement apartment. The garden is beautiful with flowers and greenery. Every morning I was able to enjoy it’s beauty and practice yoga in her meditation space. The kids and I loved the chickens and fresh eggs. The apartment itself is clean and stylish. My husband was able to utilize the desk space to do some work remotely. There’s ample street parking and grocery in walking distance. We were there for July 4th and walked to a block party with amazing bbq and music. We had a wonderful stay! Thank you Veronica!

We frequently visit family and friends in Portland. Of all the many places we’ve stayed, Veronika’s is our new fave! It’s got it all: - Super comfortable beds - Clean, attractive layout and furnishings - Big, modern bathroom with walk-in shower - Generously stocked kitchen - Quiet setting and private entry - Beautiful garden and fire pit - Close to great restaurants and bars, food pods, shopping, art, etc - Attentive and thoughtful hosts - Fresh eggs! Highly recommend!

Veronica was a great host. Enjoyed her recently renovated lower level 2 BR space. Has chickens on the property that are fun to see. Veronica had fresh eggs in our place on arrival, a very nice touch. On street parking was always available.

The property was an overgrown garden oasis with an abundance of fragrant flowers competing with one another for best in show. The basement apartment was well apportioned with comfy aesthetically pleasing furniture. There was just enough kitch to make it feel like a home. Downsides: chicken coup is close to the door, so you get a pretty good whif as you arrive, it’s only as you walk past one spot that smells. It is a basement, like all basements there is a subtle mustiness to the air. Neither of those are dealbreakers, I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

A cosy basement space. We were unable to take advantage of the outdoor patio and fire pit because of gray, sprinkly weather, but living space was enjoyable for hanging out, kitchen had everything. Location great- a 1 1/2 block walk to a good grocery story, pharmacies, and Starbucks. Host responsive and offered us fresh eggs from her chickens. Note to Host: The bathroom sink is a very slow drain. Also, moving in instructions should include directions for using the heating panels.

This was a great space for our family trip. The apartment has its own entry around the back of the house and my 4 and 1 year old had so much fun saying hi to the chickens each time we came and went. House was well stocked and Veronica was such an attentive host. She checked in with us multiple times, gave recommendations for places to check out and answered any questions we had super quick. There’s plenty of street parking and laundry on site. Overall a great stay and would definitely come back!

We had a great stay in Veronika's apartment! It was super comfortable and made us feel right at home. Even her lovely chickens that greeted us each time we came out, reminded us of our own! Based on the description, I was a little surprised by the dark basement feel at first, but the plentiful lighting and comfortable furnishings transformed the space. It had nearly every amenity we needed. Plus, the little backyard is lovely and the neighborhood is very conveniently located. We didn't have any issues with parking. Communication with Veronika was great, and she had excellent recommendations for our stay. If I had any suggestions for improvement, it would be better lighting along the side yard path - it was a bit difficult to navigate in the dark, so we armed ourselves with flashlights. Also, we missed having a full size coffeepot, or perhaps pods - took a while & made a mess trying to get 3 coffee drinkers going in the mornings with just a small press. Luckily, Starbucks is right at the end of the block!

This place was perfect. It was across the River from downtown Portland (10-15 min) we received delicious farm fresh eggs from chickens at the home. Communication with the owner was receptive and attentive. Cute little sanctuary feel to the property. The two notes I would make it there is a slight ant problem in the kitchen, and the rental is located in a basement unit so there is a lot of noise overhead in the morning. Other than that, this place had everything to make our Portland stay perfect :)

Great stay, super clean and had all the amenities we needed. Fan in the bathroom doesn’t work that well so we did have to air the place out with the windows but it’s a basement so that’s to be expected! Really great communication with the owner and super flexible with allowing an extra guest last minute. Definitely will stay here again!

It is a very comfortable, well decorated unit with a great kitchen. You need a flashlight better than a phone flashlight at night and a sticky lint brush. The couch sheds, and it was not enough to brush it off as it ended up on the floor and the legs of our pants. Enjoyed staying there.

The apartment was great- a welcome lay over for us while we attended a family wedding across the country from our home. We felt confident being able to spread out with our two kids. The beds were VERY comfortable. The property was listed as kid-friendly, but there were a few delicate items within baby’s reach that we quickly moved out of the way. I appreciated that the plant was on wheels so we could move it easily out of baby’s reach!

This was a great space for our family trip. The apartment has its own entry around the back of the house and my 4 and 1 year old had so much fun saying hi to the chickens each time we came and went. House was well stocked and Veronica was such an attentive host. She checked in with us multiple times, gave recommendations for places to check out and answered any questions we had super quick. There’s plenty of street parking and laundry on site. Overall a great stay and would definitely come back!

Our stay was so nice…my husband, our adult daughter and her husband along with our adorable 3 yr.old, Violet loved our stay. Close to everything that we needed to be, and a beautiful neighborhood to walk in. Very comfortable!

We had a great stay in Veronika's apartment! It was super comfortable and made us feel right at home. Even her lovely chickens that greeted us each time we came out, reminded us of our own! Based on the description, I was a little surprised by the dark basement feel at first, but the plentiful lighting and comfortable furnishings transformed the space. It had nearly every amenity we needed. Plus, the little backyard is lovely and the neighborhood is very conveniently located. We didn't have any issues with parking. Communication with Veronika was great, and she had excellent recommendations for our stay. If I had any suggestions for improvement, it would be better lighting along the side yard path - it was a bit difficult to navigate in the dark, so we armed ourselves with flashlights. Also, we missed having a full size coffeepot, or perhaps pods - took a while & made a mess trying to get 3 coffee drinkers going in the mornings with just a small press. Luckily, Starbucks is right at the end of the block!

Our stay was great. The property was very private even with being a basement apartment. The place was close enough to walk to most of the places we wanted to go to while staying in Portland! The neighborhood seemed safe. The host was very sweet as well. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

We had a perfectly lovely stay here! Location is amazing....close to downtown Portland, the airport and the grocery store is literally 2 blocks away. Plenty of street parking all the time. Our host was super responsive and even delivered fresh eggs for us (the chickens were AWESOME to visit every day)! The beds and pillows were super duper comfy and the place is clean and bright and really nicely decorated. I would give more stars if allowed, and I would definitely stay here again. :-)

We enjoyed our stay here. My son (5) and I can for a short weekend in Portland. It's a cute little basement apartment. The kitchen was very well stocked and we enjoyed the fresh eggs for breakfast. The beds were comfortable. It was easy to find, and in a nice location to get places quickly. We'd definitely stay again.

My family and I had such a nice stay at Veronica’s peaceful retreat in the city. You walk through the garden to get to the basement apartment. The garden is beautiful with flowers and greenery. Every morning I was able to enjoy it’s beauty and practice yoga in her meditation space. The kids and I loved the chickens and fresh eggs. The apartment itself is clean and stylish. My husband was able to utilize the desk space to do some work remotely. There’s ample street parking and grocery in walking distance. We were there for July 4th and walked to a block party with amazing bbq and music. We had a wonderful stay! Thank you Veronica!

We frequently visit family and friends in Portland. Of all the many places we’ve stayed, Veronika’s is our new fave! It’s got it all: - Super comfortable beds - Clean, attractive layout and furnishings - Big, modern bathroom with walk-in shower - Generously stocked kitchen - Quiet setting and private entry - Beautiful garden and fire pit - Close to great restaurants and bars, food pods, shopping, art, etc - Attentive and thoughtful hosts - Fresh eggs! A wonderful place to stay! There were only two of us but it easily accommodates four. Newly renovated, beautifully decorated and fully stocked with everything you need—even some eggs from the backyard chickens. We loved it and will definitely stay again when we return to Portland.

A sweet find in a quaint Portland neighborhood. Veronika’s place was private and just perfect for a long weekend meet-up with my grown nieces. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The space was perfect for the 4 of us. Having a full and well-equipped kitchen was fantastic. The host is very communicative, accommodating, and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent stay thanks to our host! There were fresh eggs in the morning and the garden was idyllic. The interior is exactly as pictured and is incredibly comfortable and cleanly! The host was great at checking in on whatever we needed! I’d recommend this place to anyone coming to Portland! The property is also situationally located by public transportation. All in all this place was a win!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Portland Sanctuary! It was myself, my husband and my toddler. It was a large space, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was especially convenient and having basics like oil and spices made it so we could easily prepare a few meals. Beds were quite comfy too. My son loved the chickens in the yard! Only negatives were that the heaters are low to the ground and can get hot to the touch so I had to be careful which ones were on when my toddler was

This was the best Vrbo I’ve ever stayed at. We enjoyed the apartment, the art in the apartment, the garden and the chickens. The host was also friendly and helpful. A small issue was the struggle with the TV but it didn’t diminish the experience
