Wine Trail, Cozy Cabin plus hot tub

This was a great place. It was impeccably clean. We had plenty of space for our family of 5. The hot tub was a wonderful reward after all day hiking in Shawnee National Forest.

We had an amazing time, perfect place for newlyweds, so close to the wineries, a store close by, the scenery is beautiful! We truly enjoyed every moment! Hot tub, patio, grill, stocked kitchen, it was just amazing! We will Be back!

Clean and comfortable place close to wineries. The hot tub was clean and easy to use. The shower head is removable and mounted very high. The kitchen has the basic cooking and eating utensils. Very nice place - we will definitely be staying here again!

Ton of pros: -very very clean -10-20 min away from everything -HOT TUB -very private -the neighbors that are down the hill are super nice -they had coffee on hand -they had Netflix set up and accessible -plenty of towels and linen Cons: -the mattress was not great -can't use more than one source of hot water at once Overall, 100% worth it. Would book again.

The home was exactly as described. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the bed was comfortable. The property was very clean. Thank you for everything. We will rent the property again.

Wonderful! Hope to return sometime in the near future, The yard was so nice for our dogs, Beau and Gracie had so much fun playing ball! Thank you so much for making it pet friendly, we don’t travel without them. All the comforts of home, plus the hot tub!

My wife and I take trips to the Southern Illinois Wine Trail a few times each year. We always use VRBO to book our trip. This was our first time staying at this location. We loved it. The Owl Creek winery is "a stones throw away" from the property. Try the dark cherry cider. Delicious. The cabin is super-easy to find. It\'s just a mile or two off highway 51. Great location. Did I say that already? Anyway, taking highway 51 north will take you to two family-fun places. The Makanda Boardwalk is a laid back place to check out. Giant City State Park is just up the road from the Boardwalk. Back to the cabin. The cabin is extremely clean. Other people have commented on the beds. We didn\'t have any issues with the comfort of the bed. The living room and kitchen area are nice and open. My wife and I made spaghetti while watching Pineapple Express the first night. The layout of the house is nice. And the hot tub on the back deck is awesome. I can only imagine the sounds of the frogs and wildlife during a spring/summer trip while relaxing on the deck. I try not to interact with the owners since they have lives, too. There aren\'t many neighbors in the area, so it feels secluded. But there are people around if you need assistance with something. Long story long, I will be staying here again. Happy wife, happy wine. Enjoy your stay!

My husband and my two pups stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed a quiet clean and accomodating stay. Hot tub was a treat coming home to every night and we enjoyed the cool air conditioning during the hot june weather. Attractions were a short easy drive away . Everything was clean and the shower was amazing. We ended up booking an extra night due to a rain day but we felt right at home staying and catching up on our favorite shows the day we missed out on hiking. Great place to stay for a couple or small family with pets wanting to experience southern illinois. Pictured is a froggy that came up to the porch every time we used the hot tub.

My husband and I spent two nights here for our 5th wedding anniversary. The hosts gave us the information on how to get to the location and code to get in the day before arrival. We loved the hot tub and with us being over 6ft tall the shower was great! No breaking our backs to wash our hair. This place is close to several wineries. Very clean and affordable. The beds weren't as comfortable, but the hot tub was great in the mornings to make up for that. We'll definitely be back in the future.

I knew right away we'd love this quick home away from home when I saw the coffee definition sign in the kitchen! Conveniently located among the wineries we wanted to visit and close to the Giant City State Park. Location was great, amenities were great! The kitchen was stocked with all the serveware and bakeware we needed for a little getaway. The bed was super comfortable, got the best sleep! The wine might have helped ;) The owner has a good eye for decor and for picking out furnishings. It's obvious they thought about convenience and comfort when creating the space to share. We felt right at home, except classier. They were also super responsive when we had a couple questions. Thanks for the great stay!

Loved this little house! The livingroom furniture was very comfortable. Their were 2 beds. one was super soft and one was much firmer. We loved the hottub. and the hosts were very easy to reach. quiet area, more houses around than we realized. But we definitely enjoyed our stay

Patrick and Jennifer's place is a couple of minutes outside of Cobden, overlooking a small meadow and across the street from a working blueberry farm, which was in blossom during our stay (April). The house is immaculately clean, and very well supplied to make your experience comfortable and convenient. If you're staying for a while, I'd suggest shopping in Anna or Carbondale for food to prepare, as we couldn't spot any significant grocer in Cobden itself. The kitchen has newer appliances and nicely maintained cookware. Bedrooms are good-sized with plenty of closet space if you need it. Check-in was easy and entry was gained through a secure electronic code lock. Living space is furnished comfortably with a double recliner couch (!) and a couple of nice side chairs. There is a kitchen island as well as a large dining room table. Off the dining area is a deck with the hot tub, which was really great after long days of hiking and sightseeing. The house is closest to the west Shawnee Forest attractions, including the wine trail, Giant City State Park, Little Grand Canyon, Pomona Natural Bridge, the Cache River Wetlands Center, Inspiration Point, Heron Pond, etc. Even so, the east side of Shawnee is a relatively short car ride away, so you can take a scenic ride to places like the Garden of the Gods, the Mississippi- Ohio River confluence, the old Iron Furnace, Rim Rock trails, Pounds Hollow, etc. Highly recommended hosts and home!

The owner was wonderful to work with! We made a wrong turn getting there and she was quickly available to get us where we needed to be. She also was kind enough to let us get in early when we had a little issue. Cabin was nice and comfortable. We loved the hot tub and if you love birds, we were sung to every day by the most beautiful songs. It’s a great location!

Had a great time at this property. We enjoyed the location to many wineries/shops and the people in the towns were great. Pleasant hosts to work with via chat. Only suggestions are to have a bath mat and possibly bodywash/shampoo available, as we forgot ours.

We had a great time in southern Illinois. The location is very convenient for the hiking and wine tasting we wanted to do. Just bummer that the not many restaurants or wineries were open in the middle of the week.

This was a good location for exploring southern Illinois and Shawnee National Forest. We enjoyed some hikes with the dog at Giant City State Park before the storms hit. The furnishings were comfortable and the hot tub was a perfect ending to the day.
