My family and I stayed at this property for four nights and enjoyed the beautifully designed cottage, spacious kitchen, large bathrooms, and peaceful views of the pond from the porch. We also appreciated the full-size washer and dryer. Barbara, the owner, made us feel welcome to her cottage which is in a private family compound. The main section of the guest cottage is the large open kitchen and eating area. Our family didn't miss having a living area (couch, television, etc) because there were televisions in the bedrooms, and we spent most of the time on the porch during our stay. We would return.

The host, Barbara, lives in the house next door and is very welcoming and kind. She was baking the day we got there and offered us a mini banana bread loaf which was very moist and delicious. The house was very beautiful, clean, gated, and on a scenic piece of property with streams going through the property and a cute pond. I would stay here again

We enjoyed our peaceful stay. The cottage is cute and offers a nice layout with 2 bedrooms separated by a kitchen/dining area. We loved all the window lines, view of the pond, fireplaces, etc.

We enjoyed delightful views of small bodies of water from every window, and an expansive, well-appointed, well-stocked kitchen. Even though our stay was in the depths of winter, the house is so well situated and the grounds so nicely designed, that it was a pleasure beyond expectations. Barbara was even kind enough to allow us to reschedule to a later time after our Christmas Eve Eve flight was cancelled due to a deep freeze. Highly recommended!

This cottage is located in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with a pond, trees and nice area. Its updated and provides a great space to hang out, but yet separate enough to be in your own space. The host is friendly, helpful and overall a great person. Highly recommend staying here if your in the area. Overall, we loved the place.

The pictures don't do this place justice. It was beautiful and so peaceful. There isn't a bad view from any spot in the house. The owner, Barbara makes it even better. She went above and beyond for us during out stay. We look forward to visiting here again very soon!

My sons and I stayed in Barbara's beautifully designed cottage over Memorial Day weekend for PLU's graduation ceremony. The kitchen has great appliances, the beds are good, and the bathrooms are spacious. (The primary bathroom feels as large as the bedroom.) There are plenty of cabinets and counterspace. Light streams in from every direction. We also appreciated the laundry room. Barbara's warm welcome and the gorgeous views were the icing on our stay. We enjoyed sitting on the porch observing the birds and gorgeous flowers around the pond. (We could hear some traffic noise from the nearby road, but it wasn't obtrusive.) There are plenty of chairs, inside and out, but no couch to sit on, since there is no living or family room. The kitchen-dining area is the main part of the guest cottage. That wasn't an issue for us, but may affect some visitors. We recommend the Tacoma Cottage--especially if you want a beautiful kitchen for cooking or eating in, or enjoy relaxing on a porch which has great views.

It was a pleasure staying at the Tacoma Cottage. Our host Barbara was fantastic and very accommodating. Her hospitality was great and I look forward to coming back. The cottage was very clean, contemporary, and in a great location. We will be planning on staying here again in the future.

Barbara is an amazing hostess - available to answer any questions, very accessible. The cottage is beautiful, well designed, and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. Love the kitchen island and outdoor decks on two sides. Ample room for parking. Absolutely lovely visit, we will be back.

Such a great location. Very quiet even with other rentals on the property. Super clean, very comfortable, and our host Barbara was available if needed the entire time. She accommodated my need for a box fan immediately, responded to all messages immediately. Definitely one of my best stays!

My adult daughters and I planned a week long vacation. We truly enjoyed the cottage and can only describe it as a tranquil retreat. It was immaculately clean. The layout was perfect to come together and visit while enjoying the view of picturesque grounds that were beautifully landscaped. We had everything we could possibly need from the kitchen to the bath. The owner was an absolute delight and made sure to make us feel welcome.

The location was excellent. The size was just right. The grounds were beautiful.However there were quite a few ants which is not something that can be taken care of right away, although they tried. I was also not used to a VRBO owner asking so many detailed questions about our trip and our daily whereabouts..

Overall our stay went well…there were things that I would like to see different. The main living area to sit and visit in was just the big island and dining table. No couch or chairs available which wasn’t a huge issue but just something I was not use to.

We had a lovely stay at this property. It met our basic needs and the hostess is a doll. I missed that it really had no area to sit and hang out and that effected us greatly at the end of a each day. We also wanted to cook in more and it was a challenge but we made it work.The area is beautiful and very close to the JBLM area.

It was a pleasure staying at the Tacoma Cottage. Our host Barbara was fantastic and very accommodating. Her hospitality was great and I look forward to coming back. The cottage was very clean, contemporary, and in a great location. We will be planning on staying here again in the future.

Such a great location. Very quiet even with other rentals on the property. Super clean, very comfortable, and our host Barbara was available if needed the entire time. She accommodated my need for a box fan immediately, responded to all messages immediately. Definitely one of my best stays!

This home is unbelievable! The property it’s on makes you feel like you’re in a private resort! Barb is the host and one of the most delightful women we’ve ever met. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the places to sit and relax and visit or numerous. We would highly recommend and hope to return.

This cottage is located in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with a pond, trees and nice area. Its updated and provides a great space to hang out, but yet separate enough to be in your own space. The host is friendly, helpful and overall a great person. Highly recommend staying here if your in the area. Overall, we loved the place.

The location was excellent. The size was just right. The grounds were beautiful.However there were quite a few ants which is not something that can be taken care of right away, although they tried. I was also not used to a VRBO owner asking so many detailed questions about our trip and our daily whereabouts..

Couldn't ask for a better home, location, or host. Clean, safe, comfortable, and a beautiful location. Barb also was a wonderful host and very attentive to make your trip as easy as possible. Thank you Barb for your hospitality and meeting you was the sunshine of my day. :)

The host, Barbara, lives in the house next door and is very welcoming and kind. She was baking the day we got there and offered us a mini banana bread loaf which was very moist and delicious. The house was very beautiful, clean, gated, and on a scenic piece of property with streams going through the property and a cute pond. I would stay here again

Our stay began with a delightful conversation with our host, Barbara. During our stay she checked in with us periodically to ensure our stay was comfortable. The cottage has lots of amenities and great views of the property. Large trees, several ponds, and birds. Our first morning while sipping my coffee a large bird landed in a tree just outside. My guess it was a golden eagle or an immature bald. It was fantastic!Close to several stores and restaurants, this is an ideal location for venturing around Tacoma.

This was a great place to stay that has everything you need. It was close enough to go and see the surrounding attractions but yet it still felt peaceful and secluded. The only thing I can say that would have made it better is if there had been a living room/sitting area besides a dining room table to visit with the individuals we shared the cottage with. The dining room table was not the most comfortable area for that. The homeowner was very nice and willing to help if we needed anything. Would recommend it if you are looking for somewhere in the area.

Excellent host, cottage was lovely, very clean, tranquil atmosphere. It was easy access to Seattle, Tacoma and Mount Rainier. Would highly recommend and visit again.

We had a lovely stay at this property. It met our basic needs and the hostess is a doll. I missed that it really had no area to sit and hang out and that effected us greatly at the end of a each day. We also wanted to cook in more and it was a challenge but we made it work.The area is beautiful and very close to the JBLM area.

This place is amazing. Loved, loved, loved it. It was so relaxing and Barbara was very precious. We honestly did not want to leave. I would definitely stay there again if I am ever in Parkland. However, if you are a chef or love to cook the kitchen was definitely lacking appliances. No blender, no mixer, no proper cutting knives, no measuring cups, no graters etc. If you love to eat out instead of cooking then you would have no problem finding good places to eat. The kitchen situation was the only drawback for me.

It was a delightful getaway. Felt we had chosen well and we were rewarded. We even stayed home an entire day between the special events we were there for followed the sun around the deck and enjoyed the geese and squirrels. Have already booked another event for Autumn.

We had a wonderful stay in Tacoma! Barb was an amazing host—very communicative and thoughtful throughout our visit. The house was exactly as described: clean, comfortable, and set on a lovely property. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again. Highly recommend!

A few minutes after checking in a circuit breaker blew. We found out this had happened with a previous guest and it wasn’t taken care of. An electrician came the next day and informed the owner the entire breaker box was not able to handle the load and had to be replaced. So for the duration of our stay we couldn’t use stuff or the fridge would quit and lights would go out. Very disappointing.
