The reviews and description we read were accurate. The property seemed larger once we checked in. It was clean and spacious. Reviews and the description said there was road noise off the street/bedrooms which there was. We used fans and ear plugs provided. All in all a great stay.

The listing does make the noise issue clear and they have made every reasonable effort to manage. But if you are noise-sensitive, you probably should look at a different property. Otherwise, we found the unit very nice. It's a bit more of a hike to get to the main Acadia attractions than we anticipated. But that's on us for not researching more carefully.

We enjoyed our stay. The unit had nice water views. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and they have a washing machine. We had to hang out at the unit for most of one day while dealing with a dead rental car…the unit was comfortable and inviting for a day of puzzles and movie watching. There are several good restaurants within a short walking distance. If you are a light sleeper, go for the top unit. Even when trying to be quiet, the building transmits sounds.
We enjoyed our stay. The unit had nice water views. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and they have a washing machine. We had to hang out at the unit for most of one day while dealing with a dead rental car…the unit was comfortable and inviting for a day of puzzles and movie watching. Some pros - the beds were comfy, convenient location to Acadia in Southwest Harbor, great dock overlooking the harbor which was great for fireworks! We enjoyed our overall stay, but as other reviewers mentioned, the noise is a very big issue for this property. The walls are PAPER thin - if someone drops anything above you, or walks, or moves a chair - the sound is very amplified. I knew this going in, but it was still crazy how much we heard every single movement of the rest of the building. It's definitely a very old building, which to be fair, seems to be the norm around Acadia (and they are very charming! just come with quirks). It ended up being the lease expensive thing for our group of 3 as we needed 2 bedrooms 2 baths, but I don't think it was worth the overall cost. Additionally, the TV did not work and was not connected to the internet, despite the property listing that there was indeed a working TV. We tried both nights to connect it to the internet that all of our phones were connected to, but that didn't work. Annoying because we specifically got a living room so we could all relax and watch TV after a long day of hiking.

The apartment is very clean, well-equipped and has enough space to feel comfortable. Only problem: it is quite noisy. The road next to the property is very busy, cars and trucks pass almost permanently by from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. The provided earplugs are a nice gesture and very necessary. The house is not very sound-proof, every step of the people upstairs can/must always be heard.

Sparkling clean and very spacious with gorgeous waterfront view. We were in Driftwood. We appreciated the amenities provided, the clear instructions on check in and out as well as the tips provided. There are wonderful breakfast options nearby and while we spent most of our time in Bar Harbor and Acadia, we appreciated being away from a busy downtown. Just note that from the more popular Acadia attractions, this is about a 20 min drive. Road noise wasn't too bad, we used the fans and ran the AC and sound machine.

Very homely and just what we needed. There was a great amount of space and everything provided made our stay perfect. The balcony was awesome to see the stars and ocean, we were very excited to stay here.

At a minimum, this property needs soundproofing, overhead lighting in the bedrooms and bathrooms, working locks on the patio sliders, and updated windows with secure screens. Additionally, the shower stall needs a handheld shower head because it’s virtually impossible to rinse the lower half of your body. Luggage racks would be a nice touch, as would a chair in each bedroom. Finally, we had safety concerns about the stability of the deck railings.

The place was clean and spacious. Each bedroom had their own bathroom. It was a convenient location with coffee shops and restaurants just a couple blocks away and walkable. It was conveniently located for our daily trips to Acadia and just a short 10 minutes from Bass Harbor lighthouse for sunset. There was also a grocery store just a couple minutes away.

Loved the place. It was super clean which is huge for me. Nice furnishings. Really, really spacious too. Would stay here again. The only issue we had which was no fault of the property owner/management, was that extremely loud people were above us partying till 4 am. Otherwise, it was a really great place to stay! Great location too. :)

We stayed 4 nights at SW Harbor - everything is as good as it looks in the photos. Very spacious, clean, comfy decor and great view. It was a short drive to Acadia Nat'l Park each day. Absolutely no complaints!

This place was extremely CLEAN and stocked with all of the amenities you would need for a stay. The location was great - not too far of a drive to the Acadia park entrance, but also away from the chaos of Bar Harbor. The check in/out process was simple and the host was very organized. I would highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful, modern updated condo with comfortable beds & nice bathrooms. Small deck with a water view. Condo building is a small, restored, very old building, close to the street. The listing talks about noise & we did notice the traffic noise, mostly early in the mornings. Still, we’d stay there again & it didn’t disturb our sleep but you can hear it. Walk to the downtown area & short, pleasant drive to congested Bar Harbor. It was nice to retreat to a calmer, quieter SW Harbor.

The only complaint any of us had was the loud traffic noise in the front bedrooms while trying to sleep! Other than that it was great!

The property is as advertised,clean,nicely furnished,great location with easy access to park,nice view and near some nice places to eat. However, it's a little pricey(looking at total cost to include cleaning, tax,commission) as it does sit on a busy highway which can be a little noisy and we stayed on the 2nd floor and there isn't much in sound proof with the third floor.

This was our first time visit to Desert Island, Southwest Harbor and Acadia NP. The apartment was nice, had all the kitchen equipment we needed for 4 adults. The town was beautiful with great seafood restaurants. Regarding the accommodation, the second bedroom with the bunk bed was not the most comfortable for a 4 night stay for 2 adults and the noise level at night in both bedrooms is pretty high. They provide ear plugs, but you can still hear the traffic on the street and all the movement at the neighbors. Overall was a good stay.

My husband and I visited for a long weekend in June. The check in process and communication from the owner was all very easy and great. Place was clean and the view was beautiful. As the listing states, it's pretty loud! The road is right off the bedroom windows and you can definitely hear traffic. We are deep sleepers so we were okay. Additionally, since the building is so old you can definitely hear residents upstairs and downstairs fairly well. Close to a few good restaurants and breakfast places but very small town. We had the best time at this condo. The place is perfect, so much space and a beautiful view. The location is also unbelievable with how close it is to the parks. We LOVED our little VRBO home and would love to stay again. Attentive host as well.

Sparkling clean and very spacious with gorgeous waterfront view. We were in Driftwood. We appreciated the amenities provided, the clear instructions on check in and out as well as the tips provided. There are wonderful breakfast options nearby and while we spent most of our time in Bar Harbor and Acadia, we appreciated being away from a busy downtown. Just note that from the more popular Acadia attractions, this is about a 20 min drive. Road noise wasn't too bad, we used the fans and ran the AC and sound machine.

This place was extremely CLEAN and stocked with all of the amenities you would need for a stay. The location was great - not too far of a drive to the Acadia park entrance, but also away from the chaos of Bar Harbor. The check in/out process was simple and the host was very organized. I would highly recommend staying here.

The property owner was very forward and precise with the location description and reletive noise concerns. After we adjusted to that, it was great. Please heed their information. Clean and comfortable.

The location of this updated condo in an older home in Southwest Harbor is perfect to avoid the crowds of Bar Harbor during peak season. We enjoyed hiking and rock climbing in Acadia Nat'l Park, and kayaking on the northeast side of MDI, seeing seals, porpoises, bald eagles, and loons in the process. The condo offered comfortable beds, showers with great water pressures, and many basic supplies provided. We were not bothered by any road noise because we had the A/C units muffling that while we slept (warm week on MDI but cool in the bedrooms). Thank you for sharing these lovely accommodations!

This condo was absolutely perfect! It was in a great location. We were able to walk across the street for dinner and the shops along the main strip were all within walking distance, We went to see the fall color and they were spectacular. This condo was close to all of the places we wanted to visit. I highly recommend this place!

The place was clean and spacious. Each bedroom had their own bathroom. It was a convenient location with coffee shops and restaurants just a couple blocks away and walkable. It was conveniently located for our daily trips to Acadia and just a short 10 minutes from Bass Harbor lighthouse for sunset. There was also a grocery store just a couple minutes away.

Beautiful, modern updated condo with comfortable beds & nice bathrooms. Small deck with a water view. Condo building is a small, restored, very old building, close to the street. The listing talks about noise & we did notice the traffic noise, mostly early in the mornings. Still, we’d stay there again & it didn’t disturb our sleep but you can hear it. Walk to the downtown area & short, pleasant drive to congested Bar Harbor. It was nice to retreat to a calmer, quieter SW Harbor.

We stayed 4 nights at SW Harbor - everything is as good as it looks in the photos. Very spacious, clean, comfy decor and great view. It was a short drive to Acadia Nat'l Park each day. Absolutely no complaints!

It’s a very comfortable space with comfortable beds and a well appointed kitchen. Walking distance to the quaint shops and restaurants, quiet compared to Bar Harbor and 30 mins to the Acadia. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We enjoyed our stay. The unit had nice water views. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable and they have a washing machine. We had to hang out at the unit for most of one day while dealing with a dead rental car…the unit was comfortable and inviting for a day of puzzles and movie watching. There are several good restaurants within a short walking distance. If you are a light sleeper, go for the top unit. Even when trying to be quiet, the building transmits sounds.

This condo was absolutely perfect! It was in a great location. We were able to walk across the street for dinner and the shops along the main strip were all within walking distance, We went to see the fall color and they were spectacular. This condo was close to all of the places we wanted to visit. I highly recommend this place!

My husband and I visited for a long weekend in June. The check in process and communication from the owner was all very easy and great. Place was clean and the view was beautiful. As the listing states, it's pretty loud! The road is right off the bedroom windows and you can definitely hear traffic. We are deep sleepers so we were okay. Additionally, since the building is so old you can definitely hear residents upstairs and downstairs fairly well. Close to a few good restaurants and breakfast places but very small town. We had a nice visit!

This place was perfect for our family of 4. It was easy to get around…most days we drove our rental car but one day we did utilize the bus! We stopped at the cute bar across the street on our last night and wished we had stopped sooner!

Lovely location and well kept property. Southwest Harbor has a more local flavor rather versus the crowds (and lack of parking) in Bar Harbor. Staring the day with breakfast on the balcony, over looking the bay, was very relaxing.

we were for adults staying in this incredible condo overlooking Southwest Harbor. The view was stunning. It was so great from the deck that we did not want to leave The condo is so close to several great restaurants that we walked to. I cannot imagine, staying in a nicer place in a better location. Thank you so much for the spotless condition

Great property and location is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Quieter than Bar Harbor, but need to consider you will have to drive farther to some of Acadia trails.
