Location was great for visiting New River Gorge. We enjoyed the beautiful property, seen deer every evening along with a beautiful sunset and turkeys in morning. Property had everything we needed to make breakfast each day. We also had a fire every night. The fire pit was great for relaxing and all the outside furniture was clean and in great shape. Bed was comfy and house was nice and quiet. We are already talking about coming back to this property and we never stay the same place twice. We loved it.

We really enjoyed our stay at this house. It was super clean and met all our families needs and wants. The hot tub was very clean and a nice addition to our stay. Beds were comfy and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. Thank you to the owner who even decorated for Christmas as we were having a Christmas get together with our son and his family, and the house was just perfect! Our grandson loved the game room. You will not be disappointed with this rental!

What a neat place to stay, everything was very clean. Very close to hiking trails. We got to see the northern lights and a meteor shower while sitting in the hot tub our second night. Also got to see a bear along the road when headed to town. Host was super quick to respond to some questions we had. Game room is a nice bonus as well. Will stay here again.

We had a wondeful time at the Cardinal Cottage. From walking in to a fresh, clean smell to the great layout and newness everywhere we coud habe not been happier. The kids loved the outbuilding game room fully equpped wih TV, fusball table, wifi, and AC. They spent a lot of time out there. The main trails were within 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again. I would highly recommend it!

I stayed at this house with a group of friends who does an annual trip to the Fayetteville area at least every year. It was very clean and nicely decorated with good quality, bedding/linens, etc.. The general location was nice. It’s a gorgeous area in general, but the house is very close to other houses, so if seclusion is important, know that it is not secluded, however, the way the house is set up with a larger porch facing the game room, fire pit, and a beautiful open meadow, it does feel private when you are out back. The hot tub, fire pit, and string lights really enhance the outdoor space. We loved the large TVs in the living room and bedrooms and enjoyed the high quality kitchen appliances. We probably wouldn’t go back in the winter because we like a fireplace, but we would definitely consider going back in the summer or early fall.

Perfect home and location near New River Gorge. We hiked, rock climbed and rafted each day. We stayed very active, so the hot tub and comfy beds were a blessing. The family also enjoyed the game room in the evenings. The house is very close to Fayetteville, which had great options for food.

Amazing and clean house with lots of room outdoors. We saw turkeys and deer everyday. Shelby was easy to reach and a wonderful host. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

First off. This property is within the national park with a plethora of hikes and scenic overlooks that are all under a 30 min drive. The house was very comfortable and clean. The property was private with wildlife all around. After a long day of hiking or rafting the hot tub was the perfect end. I would come back

The Cardinal Cottage was an awesome escape. It had all we needed in a beautiful location. We loved the privacy, peace, and the views of deer, turkeys, and birds. The hot tub was a great bonus for warmth (though the jets could use a little TLC). We really appreciated the pet-friendly and clean environment! The property was absolutely gorgeous and meticulously maintained—it truly checked every one of our needs for this trip. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautiful and well-kept everything was.The hosts' kindness and attentiveness were just as impressive. Shelby was an amazing host—always there to help if we encountered any issues and full of fantastic recommendations for both day hikes and local food.After a long day of hiking, the comfortable beds were extremely inviting. We especially appreciated the expansive property, where we were able to sit outside and relax. The location is perfect, being only a mile or two from the Endless Wall Trail.As for dining, we took Shelby's advice and would highly recommend Cathedral for breakfast, and Pies and Pints and Secret Sandwich Society for dinner.This was a truly wonderful trip that will stay in our memories forever. I’m very picky about cleanliness and details. Compared to other places we’ve stayed, this was my favorite. We wanted to experience the eateries in the area, and I was on vacation from cooking, so we didn’t use much in the lovely kitchen besides coffee mugs and a few glasses and silverware. Nearly everything was provided that we needed and then some. Would book it again, for sure!

We loved Cardinal Cottage. Location was perfect for all the hiking and sight-seeing we wanted to do. The house was very cute, very clean, and very well stocked. It had everything we needed. Host was extremely responsive. The neighborhood is quiet with glorious trees and some wildlife to observe. We could not have been happier.

Awesome property! Bright and fresh with lots of natural light. Beautiful large kitchen with plenty of cookware and dishes. We appreciated the gate at the deck stairs so we could relax in the hot tub without worrying that our fur baby would wander off. Convenient to the New River Gorge area.

We wanted to see the New River Gorge & surrounding area and the Cardinal Cottage was the perfect place to stay. It had everything we needed including 2 king size beds. It was located in a peaceful setting on 11 acres. Our group consisted of 2 couples around 70 yrs old. The house had easy access and the 2 showers in the bathrooms were easy to get into. The owner was super responsive and answered all of our questions. We had a wonderful week!

We stayed for a week-long family trip to explore the New River Gorge National Park and the surrounding areas. The location was perfect, the house was so nicely renovated (cooking in the kitchen was dreamy!) and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property. Everything was exactly as it is represented in the listing! The host has amazing communication and was able to quickly resolve any small issues we had. I highly recommend this location!

Every year my girlfriend and my college best friend and his girlfriend go on a “camping” trip - obviously we don’t stay in tents but we do try and find a nice place - this cabin was more than nice, it was freakin’ awesome!! The cabin is in the perfect location - 5min from Endless Wall, 10min from White Water Rafting, 7min from the Bridge (yes that massive bridge!), and 15min from the grocery store but it sits on a beautiful chunk of land and we saw lots of deer and turkeys! The back porch feels wonderfully secluded looking out from the hot tub into the woods although there are neighbors across the street (in the front) but it was no bother. Inside you can tell the hosts completely renovated this property and we loved the look and feel of it - loved the furniture and kitchen! Speaking of the kitchen, it was great to have everything we could need to cook right down to the spices and pans. Also has a grill hooked up to a huge tank outside. We LOVED our stay at the Cardinal Cottage and none of our group wanted to leave as it felt like it became our home away from home for our long weekend. We hope to return again in the future to this beautiful cabin in wonderful West Virginia!

We just spent the holiday weekend at this cottage and it exceeding our expectations! The home itself is beautiful and spacious. More than enough room for my guest and I. The area is quiet and the property is secluded enough to really let you enjoy nature. Every morning we had a family of deer grazing in the yard. The home itself is also in an ideal location for activities. Only 4 minutes from Endless Wall trail (highly recommend) and about 1hr from Charleston. You’re also close to shopping and grocery stores which came in handy for some extra beer runs lol. Overall this home was amazing. Highly recommend for your next get together!

Our group loved this property for our visit to New River Gorge National Park. Great location. Property has a lot of personality. Communication with the host was excellent throughout. We enjoyed the large dining room table and living room sofa, as well as the hot tub. The two king beds were super comfortable and we slept great. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

We truly enjoyed staying at this property. The location is perfect for exploration of the Canyon rim area and for excursions for rafting and exploration of the local town of Fayetteville. The property is on several acres with a beautiful pasture. Tons of wildlife to include deer, turkeys, and rabbits. We truly enjoyed every morning and evening, watching all of the Wildlife enjoying the peace of the backyard The evenings were made more enjoyable with the hot tub The property manager and owner was very responsive. If you enjoy small hikes, endless wall is close and highly recommend. West Virginia is an absolutely beautiful area and we cannot wait to return. Thank you we will be back!

We wanted to see the New River Gorge & surrounding area and the Cardinal Cottage was the perfect place to stay. It had everything we needed including 2 king size beds. It was located in a peaceful setting on 11 acres. Our group consisted of 2 couples around 70 yrs old. The house had easy access and the 2 showers in the bathrooms were easy to get into. The owner was super responsive and answered all of our questions. We had a wonderful week!

We stayed for a week-long family trip to explore the New River Gorge National Park and the surrounding areas. The location was perfect, the house was so nicely renovated (cooking in the kitchen was dreamy!) and we thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the property. What a neat place to stay, everything was very clean. Very close to hiking trails. We got to see the northern lights and a meteor shower while sitting in the hot tub our second night. Also got to see a bear along the road when headed to town. Host was super quick to respond to some questions we had. Game room is a nice bonus as well. Will stay here again.

Our group loved this property for our visit to New River Gorge National Park. Great location. Property has a lot of personality. Communication with the host was excellent throughout. First off. This property is within the national park with a plethora of hikes and scenic overlooks that are all under a 30 min drive. The house was very comfortable and clean. The property was private with wildlife all around. After a long day of hiking or rafting the hot tub was the perfect end. I would come back

Everyday was an adventure for our group of two couples from NJ who travel together every year. Biking (downhill was the best!), eating out at Gaines Estates and other local restaurants, grilling in, boating, and more biking were some of the highlights of our trip. We were all able to get a good night sleep for each of the five nights of our stay. The wildlife in the backyard was a bonus. Kitchen was well-stocked! Wild and wonderful time. We love West Virginia.

We stayed with our 2 young kids and dog and came to explore the New River Gorge National Park. The location was perfect and close to the Gorge, visitor center, and minutes from the Endless Wall Trail! We enjoyed a fire in the fire pit and watching the sun set from the property. The kitchen was well equipped and had a very nice gas range! We had a great stay and the Gorge offered spectacular views from the trails and overlooks.

We just spent the holiday weekend at this cottage and it exceeding our expectations! The home itself is beautiful and spacious. More than enough room for my guest and I. The area is quiet and the property is secluded enough to really let you enjoy nature. Every morning we had a family of deer grazing in the yard. The home itself is also in an ideal location for activities. Only 4 minutes from Endless Wall trail (highly recommend) and about 1hr from Charleston. You’re also close to shopping and grocery stores which came in handy for some extra beer runs lol. Overall this home was amazing. Highly recommend for your next get together!

We had a wondeful time at the Cardinal Cottage. From walking in to a fresh, clean smell to the great layout and newness everywhere we coud habe not been happier. The kids loved the outbuilding game room fully equpped wih TV, fusball table, wifi, and AC. They spent a lot of time out there. The main trails were within 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again. I would highly recommend it!

Perfect home and location near New River Gorge. We hiked, rock climbed and rafted each day. We stayed very active, so the hot tub and comfy beds were a blessing. The family also enjoyed the game room in the evenings. The house is very close to Fayetteville, which had great options for food.

Awesome property! Bright and fresh with lots of natural light. Beautiful large kitchen with plenty of cookware and dishes. We appreciated the gate at the deck stairs so we could relax in the hot tub without worrying that our fur baby would wander off. Convenient to the New River Gorge area.

We loved stayed at the Cardinal Cottage. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Plus we loved that we could bring our (very well behaved) dog with us. We cooked several meals in the kitchen and grilled out on the deck. It was super easy to do both. The back deck (with hot tub) was fantastic. We used the hot tub every night basically. Star gazing from the tub was fantastic. Plus the back deck is fenced in (with a gate) so we could keep our dog out there with us and let her just wander the deck. We also loved all the property behind the house. We often would do a short walk along the edge of the field with our dog. So nice to have that space. Lastly I can't explain how nice it is to have a king sized bed. That's what we have at home and it's such a nice touch to have the same in a vacation house. OH and the fabulous Endless Wall hike is just like 5 minute drive with the main visitor center for the New River Gorge National Park like a 10 minute drive. We were able to go into the park everyday and drive into Fayetteville easily. Definitely on our list to come back to the house if we are in the area again!

The Cardinal Cottage was a perfect getaway for my husband and I with our pups! The proximity to “downtown” Fayetteville was awesome - I highly recommend the taphouse. We did some great hikes within 5 minutes of the cottage. We loved exploring the property. The back deck is enclosed so it was so comforting to let the dogs off leash while we got to relax and enjoy the property views! Hot tub was a huge bonus. The cottage is newly updated and had everything we needed to cook. The cottage does sit close to the road with neighbors across the street but the road was not very busy and we only saw the neighbor once - we didn’t mind at all. Overall, this was such a great getaway for a few days. It’s an excellent mixture of feeling secluded and cozy while also having all of the amenities you need! We hope to come back and stay again in the future!

They had everything you needed at the cottage. It was enjoyable to watch the deer, turkeys and bunny from the back deck each day. You are just a short 10-15 minute ride to the New River Gorge Park, which was so convenient for exploring. Not to mention if you forgot to pack something Walmart was only about 15 minutes away. Yes, we had to make two trips to Walmart during our 9 day stay. I suggest stopping at the Secret Sandwich Society for a meal. Their food and service was excellent. We had a wonderful time.
