Deux Paradis, a BeachFront Retreat, By ThinkVilla

We were a group of three families, kids ages ranging from 8-19! With five parents. We were 14 total. The villa was fantastic/stunning more spacious than the photos showed and at a really high specification. Individual apartment style bedrooms worked really well as families could cook separately but eat together. It gave the teenagers privacy and much sought after independence. The beach views were stunning and the lifeguard on duty on the beach infront of the villa meant we all felt safe. The pool not big was perfect for everyone to cool down/take a dip or play catch in, we loved the motor in it to enable you to have a proper swim. The outside dinning area was perfect for lunchtime/evening gatherings and plenty of sun beds for all during the day. It was very private too.The host was extremely attentive and informative and helped out with restaurant and bar recommendations and answering any queries we had. We didn’t have cars which was no problem as there were really nice restaurants nearby and Rethymno old town was only a 20 min walk or less depending on fitness, which was perfect for evening meals. There are so many takeaways that too that delivered serving gyros for the insatiable appetites of the growing teenage boys. I can’t recommend this place enough. We used the think villa recommend Cretan Taxi service to get 12 of us too and from the airport and to take us to the Aqua plus water park, they were excellent and even sorted the entrance tickets. Perfect family hol!

This property has everything: Class A facilities and furnishings, gorgeous view, easy access to beach, pool, and sun, close to historic sites, shopping, excellent restaurants, and groceries. Owner is super conscientious. Family thoroughly enjoyed stay and gained many wonderful memories.

This place was perfect for our stay. There were 6 couples, we all had our own room which included a kitchenette with a coffee maker. Each room had something unique about it, so it's hard to say which is the best room. It's right on the beach so you are just a few feet away, we really enjoyed the outdoor area and spent most of our time there, it was so big we hardly ran into each other unless it was at the pool or kitchen. There's also an elevator, which we used post Samaria Gorge. This place is about a 20 min walk to old town and about a 10 min walk to the bus station that will take you to either Chania or Heraklion (1 hour each way). One of the couples rented a car to go on hikes, it was reasonable, but there's only street parking near the house, which means for luggage or for walking impaired it might be a challenge. Thinkvilla put me in connection with George from Cretan Taxi Service, he was great and always had the best prices, I highly recommend using them if walking is an issue. A side note that they want 24+ hours advance notice. This was hard for our party of 11 since we didn't have everything mapped out for our entire trip, also we were surprised that they only took cash as I read most taxis have card readers, but they're upfront with the cost. Maria dropped off some essentials for us, was always available, and recommended a lot of amazing restaurants. I would also recommend the Tavernas! Both nearby and in old town. We had a great time and will be back!

My family and I have just returned from the most amazing two weeks in the fabulous Deux paradise in the beautiful city of Rethymno, we arrived very late on our first evening and were greeted by our lovely hosts, Maria and Antonia who had a delicious hot pizza for us and a bottle of raki produced by their father, to welcome us. The villa is absolutely stunning, every detail finished to the highest standard. There were 9 of us but the villa could have easily accommodated another 4 or 5. Each room has its own fully equipped kitchenette and very stylish en suite. The hosts have honestly thought of everything, hairdryers, iron, mini ironing board in every suite, so we didn't have to share between rooms, everything was just so convenient. The 4 suites at the back of the villa have the most amazing views of the sea, just opening the patio doors and sitting out on the balcony in the mornings with a coffee and croissant from noulis (the little coffee shop, right next door!) Was a little piece of heaven. Maria and Antonia arrived with the cleaning crew (always with communication via text) and brought us delicious treats, traditional Greek pastries and a huge mousakka fresh from the oven made by their mama! The villa is stunning, the location is fabulous, the personal touches from the hosts made our trip so special, the girls were so kind and helpful without being intrusive. My family and I had the best holiday on the beautiful island of Crete and we cannot recommend Deux Paradis or the girls highly enough, our whole Greek experience was just magical and cannot wait to return! 😁
