What a beautiful home! It was so well-stocked, so cozy, so many extra touches that made us feel right at home. The kitchen was completely stocked with everything you would need and more from cooking equipment to coffee tools to many, many different spices and other pantry essentials. The fresh eggs in the fridge was much appreciated. We loved the record player and the nice variety of records. It was so fun to play records each morning and evening. This house is perfect for the dog lover. Our pup was right at home. She enjoyed the doggy treats and the comfy bed. If you enjoy antiquing and wineries, there are many for both options surrounding the home. The house is also relatively close to one of the national park entrances. Julie was a great host and replied promptly when I had to contact her our first night. We would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed here for four nights with our dog to get away and spend some time together, and this place was perfect. In the mornings we’d make breakfast with the fresh eggs that were in the fridge when we arrived, and we’d drink coffee on the covered back porch. Seth and Julie also had a binder with a list of things to do, which we used to hike some trails. For some reason, our GPS would say we had a much longer drive to the trail locations while we were at the house, but when we got to the main road, it would shave 30 minutes off the drive time. We grilled dinner every night, and the garage had both a gas and charcoal grill to use. We used the charcoal grill, and grilling tools and a charcoal chimney were also there at the house. We also made a fire in the wood stove a couple of nights, and it really gets the room warm and cozy. It rained all day on one of the days, but there were so many games that we had plenty to do. Each bedroom is spacious, and one of the reasons we chose this place was because it had a King size bed. We had a great stay, and it’s clear Seth and Julie want you to have everything you need. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

The place was perfect. From the quiet atmosphere to the general overall condition of the property. My wife and i stayed there with our dog. Easy to get to the park. Also just a beautiful place with a firepit and grills for us to use. Will diffently stay there again. A 10 easily for me

We loved our stay in this beautiful farmhouse…lots of added perks (like fresh eggs), that made our stay enjoyable…..the swing…. hammock made the stay so much fun for my son, and I loved drinking my morning coffee on the porch and we appreciated that it is very Drive friendly.

Beautiful house with nice communal areas, big bedrooms, comfortable beds, and a well stocked kitchen. The yard had lots of space to play games or gather around the fire pit. Owner was easy to contact and responsive, and left very good recommendations/guidance in a guest manual at the property. We went on one of the recommended hikes and it was the best hike I've ever been on! The house was generally clean, though one of the bathroom sinks drained extremely slowly so couldn't be used. Even so, I'd go again! Overall, would recommend.

Check-in was easy, kitchen was well-stocked, WiFi was great. Bedrooms were really nice and the Master Bedroom mattress was perfect. We had a great stay and enjoyed having our two dogs with us.

This house has so much to offer! It’s clean, spacious, welcoming, with tons of thoughtful details. A large collection of games, toys, and books that keep kids and adults alike entertained. We especially enjoyed the huge outdoor space with a hammock next to the fire pit, a basket ball hoop, and tons of space for my toddler to run around and burn his energy. We had a wonderful family vacation here!

The house was beautiful and all the amenities you would need. My kids love the toys there and all the baby chairs and playpen etc was a very thoughtful touch. The rooms were very spacious and very clean. We had a great trip as a family. Kids 7yrs old, 5 yrs old, and 8 months. Highly recommended

The house and property were perfect for our stay. Very clean, more than well stocked with essentials, extras and fun stuff. Beds were super comfy. We didn’t bring pets or kids but it would’ve been a perfect set up for either. The house was pet, friendly, but best of all it did not smell like dogs! Everything was so clean and comfortable. Loved the birds and deer too. thank you for providing such a great space for our girls weekend. Will rent it again for a family get together.

We loved our stay at the farmhouse which is tucked back off of a mountain road. The house is lovely and well kept. It is full of activities - we enjoyed the puzzles and board games as a family. The front porch is a peaceful spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and read a book, play cornhole in the rain or to practice yoga. Unfortunately the stream was dried up while we were there, but we made the best of it and did a rock climb hike. We greatly enjoyed our time here!

Our family, including two children and a lab, loved staying at Hightop Hideaway. The property was lovely, tucked away on a quiet hill leading into the mountains. The home was clean and well-appointed, with many small touches that made us feel "at home." We loved the location of the property, which served as a great jumping off point for day trips to explore the caverns in Luray, hike in Shenandoah, and check out a lake/beach near Charlottesville. Overall, this was a wonderful vacation that let us "unplug" and reconnect.

We chose this location as it was close to Shenandoah National Park and the entrance we would be using for most of our hikes -Swift Run Gap (15-20 minutes away). The property was nestled away in a tree lined lot with a gated entrance ensuring our peace and quiet. We loved sitting on the side porch at night under string lights and listening to the sounds of nature. The house was clean, comfortable and everything was in good working order. It's VRBO description was accurate and we had no issues whatsoever. There is a grocery store and 3 great local restaurants in nearby Stanardsville and should you want more variety (chain restaurants and a Walmart) are within 25 minutes of the property. There is plenty to explore near this property or to catch some quiet time at the house. We did both and we leave with amazing memories and a longing to return. Thank you Julie for allowing us to stay at your Hilltop Hideaway!

Lovely house with plenty of room. It has everything you need for a great vacation. It is very close to the National park entrance. We enjoyed hiking in the park, coffee and conversation on the porch and games at night.

The house and property exceeded our expectations in many ways. It was everything we needed, wanted (and more), all within a short drive to Shenandoah National Park! Our family of 5 (plus large dog) fit very comfortably. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the porch, playing in the yard, walking the stream, game nights in the living room, meals easily prepared and shared in the kitchen and dining room, and the quiet retreat of the bedrooms. We would highly recommend it to anyone as a perfect homebase for exploring the region!

What a beautiful home! It was so well-stocked, so cozy, so many extra touches that made us feel right at home. The kitchen was completely stocked with everything you would need and more from cooking equipment to coffee tools to many, many different spices and other pantry essentials. The fresh eggs in the fridge was much appreciated. We loved the record player and the nice variety of records. It was so fun to play records each morning and evening. This house is perfect for the dog lover. Our pup was right at home. She enjoyed the doggy treats and the comfy bed. If you enjoy antiquing and wineries, there are many for both options surrounding the home. The house is also relatively close to one of the national park entrances. Julie was a great host and replied promptly when I had to contact her our first night. We would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I stayed here for four nights with our dog to get away and spend some time together, and this place was perfect. In the mornings we’d make breakfast with the fresh eggs that were in the fridge when we arrived, and we’d drink coffee on the covered back porch. Seth and Julie also had a binder with a list of things to do, which we used to hike some trails. For some reason, our GPS would say we had a much longer drive to the trail locations while we were at the house, but when we got to the main road, it would shave 30 minutes off the drive time. We grilled dinner every night, and the garage had both a gas and charcoal grill to use. We used the charcoal grill, and grilling tools and a charcoal chimney were also there at the house. We also made a fire in the wood stove a couple of nights, and it really gets the room warm and cozy. It rained all day on one of the days, but there were so many games that we had plenty to do. Each bedroom is spacious, and one of the reasons we chose this place was because it had a King size bed. We had a great stay, and it’s clear Seth and Julie want you to have everything you need. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

My husband and I drove up from FL with our golden retriever to enjoy the national park. We admittedly got in pretty late and the check in process went perfectly. We were so impressed by how beautiful the home and property were as well as how nicely stocked the home was. Of every vacation rental we’ve ever stayed in, this is the one with the most welcoming feel. I would recommend this home to anyone, especially those traveling with pets. It can be tough to find a place our 90lb golden can stay with us and it genuinely seems like pups of all sizes are welcomed 😊

We needed a quiet nightly escape from very busy days in Ruckersville, and this old farmhouse exceeded our needs. Booking and check-in were extremely smooth. While we didn’t utilize the grounds, fire pit and lawn games, it is easy to see that this accommodating rental would be loads of fun for a family or small group of adults. Directions provided by host were easy to follow and quite necessary. Highly recommend.

Beautiful house with nice communal areas, big bedrooms, comfortable beds, and a well stocked kitchen. The yard had lots of space to play games or gather around the fire pit. Owner was easy to contact and responsive, and left very good recommendations/guidance in a guest manual at the property. We went on one of the recommended hikes and it was the best hike I've ever been on! The house was generally clean, though one of the bathroom sinks drained extremely slowly so couldn't be used. Even so, I'd go again! Overall, would recommend.

The Farmhouse was perfect. We had a lot of rain so we didn’t get to explore the property on the outside much. This home had everything we needed plus more. This is a hideaway for sure and we would love to come back and stay next year. The hosts were phenomenal in answering all of our questions in a timely manner.

The house was close to Shenandoah/Skyline Drive as well as Charlottesville where we spent some time. The house was beautiful and matched everything in the listing. The hosts were very responsive and provided everything needed for a great weekend. We highly recommend!

Our family, including two children and a lab, loved staying at Hightop Hideaway. The property was lovely, tucked away on a quiet hill leading into the mountains. The home was clean and well-appointed, with many small touches that made us feel "at home." We loved the location of the property, which served as a great jumping off point for day trips to explore the caverns in Luray, hike in Shenandoah, and check out a lake/beach near Charlottesville. Overall, this was a wonderful vacation that let us "unplug" and reconnect.

The property was nestled away in a tree lined lot with a gated entrance ensuring our peace and quiet. We loved sitting on the side porch at night under string lights and listening to the sounds of nature. The house was clean, comfortable and everything was in good working order. It's VRBO description was accurate and we had no issues whatsoever. There is a grocery store and 3 great local restaurants in nearby Stanardsville and should you want more variety (chain restaurants and a Walmart) are within 25 minutes of the property. There is plenty to explore near this property or to catch some quiet time at the house. We did both and we leave with amazing memories and a longing to return. This beautiful property is conveniently located 20 minutes from the Swift Run Gap entrance to SNP (45-min drive to the Big Meadows Visitor center). The house is equipped with everything you could need during your stay and is SUPER dog and kid-friendly! It’s a little off the beaten path (to a Florida suburban girl anyway!) but that’s exactly what we wanted… as a teacher who just finished a stressful school year, I got plenty of much-needed relaxation. The hammock was my favorite spot, just enjoying the breezes and constant chorus of birdsong! Restaurants and stores (including a Walmart) are just a 20-25 minute drive away. During our stay we also visited Luray Caverns (1 hr) and Chris Greene Lake Park (30 mins) which has an awesome dog park! Loved our visit, would stay here again!

The place was perfect. From the quiet atmosphere to the general overall condition of the property. My wife and i stayed there with our dog. Easy to get to the park. Also just a beautiful place with a firepit and grills for us to use. Will diffently stay there again. A 10 easily for me

We loved our stay in this beautiful farmhouse…lots of added perks (like fresh eggs), that made our stay enjoyable…..the swing…. hammock made the stay so much fun for my son, and I loved drinking my morning coffee on the porch and we appreciated that it is very Drive friendly.

Check-in was easy, kitchen was well-stocked, WiFi was great. Bedrooms were really nice and the Master Bedroom mattress was perfect. We had a great stay and enjoyed having our two dogs with us.

Very private location, clean, roomy home with plenty of lovely touches to make this a wonderful Time away with family. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and dvds and games the house had the offer. Bonus of some personal extras left by the hosts - fresh eggs and coffe were much appreciated!
Very private location, clean, roomy home with plenty of lovely touches to make this a wonderful Time away with family. We really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and dvds and games the house had the offer. Bonus of some personal extras left by the hosts - fresh eggs and coffe were much appreciated!

This beautiful property is conveniently located 20 minutes from the Swift Run Gap entrance to SNP (45-min drive to the Big Meadows Visitor center). The house is equipped with everything you could need during your stay and is SUPER dog and kid-friendly! It’s a little off the beaten path (to a Florida suburban girl anyway!) but that’s exactly what we wanted… as a teacher who just finished a stressful school year, I got plenty of much-needed relaxation. The hammock was my favorite spot, just enjoying the breezes and constant chorus of birdsong! Restaurants and stores (including a Walmart) are just a 20-25 minute drive away. During our stay we also visited Luray Caverns (1 hr) and Chris Greene Lake Park (30 mins) which has an awesome dog park! Loved our visit, would stay here again!

Host was very helpful, the house was very private but centrally located for day trips to Shenandoah and Monticello. The house had so many helpful amenities too! And we loved being able to bring our mini poodle with us. Thanks for a great stay!

Love how secluded and safe the property is kept. The gate was a very nice surprise, and the cleanliness of the property was outstanding.

The home was clean and had everything we needed. Kids loved the games. Appreciated the dog friendly environment, treats and bowls. It definitely lived up to its "peaceful" name. Got lucky with that gorgeous rhododendron in full bloom, loaded with butterflies. It smelled amazing, like it was greeting us! Would recommend and stay there again.

Seth was super helpful when we had a minor issue with security code access (we didn't miss a beat). The home was lovely in many ways, but the things that we really enjoyed: An amazingly well-stocked kitchen. Normally, I hit a grocery to pick up staples before I check in. That was unnecessary. Cooking oil, butter, spices, coffee, you name it were all provided. Wonderful! The cookware and flatware were a bit mix-and-match, but there was plenty for our needs, and frankly it added to the lived in feel. But we really loved the wood burning stove/fireplace. It made a Christmas stay feel all the more Christmas-y.
