Historic Downtown Hawley Loft

I will preface this review with a email I had sent to the host stating that my husband was having surgery and was in pain and traveling with an 11 year old pet. There was no mention of the very severe steps needed to be climbed to enter the property and there was no mention of that in the VRBO description. Nor that there was a "back stair' we 'could have used'. The property was very clean upon arrival. However, the air conditioning was not working. We had driven 17 hours that day to attend our neice's wedding and could not stay in a unit with a pet where the air conditioning unit was not working so we immediately made other arrangements and then contacted the host. The host should have known the air conditioner was not working but did not check on the property while the owner was on a cruise. I would have been happy to pay one night or half the stay but instead they refused any refund. Why should I pay a cleaning fee? Or a stay fee? We didn't stay there. Just bad business practice. There was no easy way to communicate and in fact we didn't receive the check-in information either. But the host was quick to provide the information we needed in advance of our arrival. The owner needs to know of our dissatisfaction and not just take the word of the host while they discussed the suggested refund. Obviously the host was covering her short falls by telling the owner that she told me of the back stairs and we could have replaced the air conditiioner within 30 minutes

The apartment was clean. Very nice and exactly as advertised. Location was perfect for what we were doing. Sarah was friendly and responded quickly to questions. Would recommend and would stay here again

The space was as pictured....the area around it and behind the unit was a little sketchy but we had our Cane Corso with us and felt safe because of him. The restaurant R&R was amazing!! The local pubs and breweries were plentiful and this unit is close to a park for the people with pups!

Immaculate, impeccably decorated, comfy bed, great accommodations.

It was very easy to find and very clean
