Very small quarters with freeway noise 25 feet away. Towels were thread worn and 12 in. step to maneuver into bathroom could be difficult at night time. Active little boy upstairs can be heard playing and parking can be difficult on garbage day pickup. Otherwise, location was good for walking and restaurants.

This is a fun studio, but very Spartan. The good: spacious, well stocked kitchenette, great accessibility and location to stores, restaurants, Zoo and Balboa Park; Andrew (host) is great to work with--very responsive and accommodating. The not-so-good: no chair for dressing, reading, or relaxing; no TV; stools too high to allow comfortable seating at the counter; gaps in windows make freeway noise even more noticeable; shower curtain needs a good scrubbing. Nit picking for sure, but if you spend a lot of time in the unit, these things matter.

Accurate as described! Great neighborhood, everything needed within a few blocks distance. Nice touches with extra plugs ins, fan, ac, medium sized fridge, microwave, toaster, small coffee maker, soap, shampoo, long mirror. Andrew was super friendly and gave suggestions for fun things to check out. We were out and about most of day so perfect spot for evening relaxing and place to sleep. Just as other noted from other comments, upstairs noise (if other bnb is occupied and traffic pretty noisy. Used earphones and was able to sleep though. Bed is pretty comfy.

Room is well maintained, albeit somewhat loud with freeway noise. Andrew is very accommodating and responds quickly to all requests. Parking is an issue. It is a small neighborhood with many residents/rentals and only has limited street parking.

It was a cute little studio that offered us a good place to stop by and relax in between checking out all that San Diego had to offer! We appreciated there being a fridge and microwave because we didn’t want to eat out the entire weekend we were there. Communication from the host was great, privacy was great, we were worried about not finding street parking, but surprisingly we did not struggle with that (maybe just our luck!). The neighborhood was also nice and had several places nearby that were great; coffee shops, a ramen place, a few thrift stores and a movie theater all within walking distance! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely book again if need be.

Clean and quaint quarters within walking distance to anything you need. Visited my son and family and provided the perfect spot to spend the night. No television but no need for one. Property was clean and comfortable. Great location within a short drive to everything in San Diego. Freeway noise was negated by air conditioner. Some noise early in the morning could be heard from upstairs. All in all, nice place to stay. I'd recommend to anyone wanting to see all San Diego has to offer.

The place is so cozy, perfect location to almost everything walking distance. Bed was super comfortable. Wish there was a stove but definitely not a deal breaker. Andrew was super attentive and accommodating. Highly recommend! Looking forward to a future stay!

Absolutely horrible. We were greeted with a musty odor. The interior was unclean. Various used personal care items (deodorants, etc…) were in the bathroom. Several boxes of half used coffees and teas were thrown on the kitchen counter. It was a blessing that the toilet started flooding the bathroom and we left with a refund. This place needs to be gutted. It should not be a rental.

One can't beat the location since it is in the center of Hillcrest and only a block and a half from University Ave., where a large variety of restaurants and bars are a short walk, so a car is not needed unless a person is planning to travel outside of the city. Other areas of interest are a short Uber/Lyft ride away. The owner is a great communicator who responds quickly to any questions. The only drawbacks are the property backs up to Highway 163 where one can hear traffic all night long, so if a person is a light sleeper, this could be a problem. Also, if one is a tall and/or big person, the shower can be a challenge. I am 5'11" tall and 170 lbs., and the shower was a bit tight for me. Overall, it's a great value and comfortable place to stay.

Superb location in the heart of Hillcrest. But it is right ON the freeway, so it’s very noisy even with earplugs. Also the only seating in the place is two barstools. If you’re ok with the noise, then go for it.

great stay - very easy to get around, walkable & 10-20 mins via car to all great spots you want to see! not a huge spot, but big enough & comfy for what is needed. would definitely stay here again

Andrew’s place was a no-frills, safe place to stay for a wonderful price. It was great for a quick getaway. Andrew had great communication.

Solo or couple SD travelers should absolutely stay here. The host Andrew is amazing. Very kind, responsive, and accommodating. He was very generous to me during a last minute stay, and his loft had all of the basic amenities to meet all of my needs. Safe neighborhood. Many shops, eateries, etc all within basic city walking distance. Highly recommend.
Solo or couple SD travelers should absolutely stay here. The host Andrew is amazing. Very kind, responsive, and accommodating. Exactly as advertised. Cute studio apartment in a great location close to a many key San Diego attractions. Communication was quick, check-in and check-out were smooth and easy. Would absolutely stay here again.

Communication from the host was great, privacy was great, we were worried about not finding street parking, but surprisingly we did not struggle with that (maybe just our luck!). The neighborhood was also nice and had several places nearby that were great; coffee shops, a ramen place, a few thrift stores and a movie theater all within walking distance! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would definitely book again if need be.
It was a cute little studio that offered us a good place to stop by and relax in between checking out all that San Diego had to offer! We appreciated there being a fridge and microwave because we didn’t want to eat out the entire weekend we were there. The place is so cozy, perfect location to almost everything walking distance. Bed was super comfortable. Wish there was a stove but definitely not a deal breaker. Andrew was super attentive and accommodating. Highly recommend! Looking forward to a future stay!

This was a great place to stay for access to Balboa Park. It has everything you need within walking distance without a car, just as I wanted. My only quibble is that it did not note that there is a big step up to the bathroom which might be a challenge for some people. Otherwise, it had everything I needed and was comfortable when I was "rained in", which does happen in San Diego at times.

One can't beat the location since it is in the center of Hillcrest and only a block and a half from University Ave., where a large variety of restaurants and bars are a short walk, so a car is not needed unless a person is planning to travel outside of the city. Other areas of interest are a short Uber/Lyft ride away. The owner is a great communicator who responds quickly to any questions. The only drawbacks are the property backs up to Highway 163 where one can hear traffic all night long, so if a person is a light sleeper, this could be a problem. Also, if one is a tall and/or big person, the shower can be a challenge. I am 5'11" tall and 170 lbs., and the shower was a bit tight for me. Overall, it's a great value and comfortable place to stay.

Solo or couple SD travelers should absolutely stay here. The host Andrew is amazing. Very kind, responsive, and accommodating. He was very generous to me during a last minute stay, and his loft had all of the basic amenities to meet all of my needs. Safe neighborhood. Many shops, eateries, etc all within basic city walking distance. Highly recommend.

My partner and I were visiting San Diego for my birthday and our 3rd wedding anniversary. The location of the studio apartment is absolutely perfect. We walked all over Balboa Park, we walked to tons of different spots for food, coffee, and entertainment. And it was so lovely to see so many people like us walking around (wonderful queer folk). We felt safe, we were able to completely disconnect from work, and we are already planning another trip back.

My partner and I had a great stay! The lodging was in a perfect location - walkable to the vibrant Hillcrest neighborhood, and a short drive to downtown, beaches, Old Town, and all that San Diego has to offier.

Absolutely horrible. We were greeted with a musty odor. The interior was unclean. Various used personal care items (deodorants, etc…) were in the bathroom. Several boxes of half used coffees and teas were thrown on the kitchen counter. It was a blessing that the toilet started flooding the bathroom and we left with a refund. This place needs to be gutted. It should not be a rental.

Was an absolutely fantastic stay, really close to the convention center for comic con. And the price was unbeatable! Very homey feel that made us feel relaxed after a long day out. Will absolutely be back next year!
