Silver Springs 4br Cottage

We had relatives visiting from Canada and used this opportunity to have all the families get together for some time in the Valley. Kids loved the pool and the adults enjoyed the food and wines available near by. The accomodation allowed us all to eat an evening meal together from the bar-b-que. The wildlife was a treat to all.

I strongly advise against booking with Weekenda Holidays. After paying the bond, be prepared to lose it. They'll find excuses to deduct it, making up issues as they go.In my experience, they raised new concerns every week: first, the pool gate and skimmer; then, a damaged side table; and finally, a hole in the wall after 11 days. Don't risk it!Al do encountered a few issues: 1. Fly infestation (wasp): Our kids and adults were constantly bothered by flies and couple of them attacked, which had built nests around the property. 2. Poor outdoor cleaning: The pool area and alfresco were particularly dirty. 3. Old pool and surroundings: The pool skimmer cover was outdated, and a small crack in the pool skimmer led to an accident (fortunately, no one was injured). 4. Cobwebs and spiders: The upstairs cottage had a severe cobweb and spider problem.

Great location for a large group of people to stay. Overall, the experience was satisfactory (and potentially acceptable for smaller groups) but we will not be returning. Facilities were not fully functional (all burners on internal stove were not working, making it hard to cook for a large group). We were penalised with our bond return for leaving BBQ track marks on a wet lawn surface which was unavoidable in light of not being able to use internal cooktops to full capacity. Lacking facilities also meant hot water could not be run in the shower while the gas cookers were on in the kitchen. We were also charged the cost of a handyman that apparently needed to be called out because we unplugged one HDMI cable from the back of a TV. The place was suitable, but customer service and unreasonable charges were not!

hosts easy to work with, property was very nice but surrounding area was poor (roads not taken care of which we were jot made aware of)

Property layout and spacious rooms where a great asset. Had a few minor issues with having to change the gas bottle. Rang earlier in the week to arrange appropriate car parking and we followed instructions only to receive a message that card needed to be moved as the owner was not happy with their location and could see us with a camera from another property. Guests felt very uncomfortable knowing they where being watched from a distance.
