Coastal Oregon Retreat w/ Grill: 11 Mi to Astoria!

We were surprised to find on arrival that the main balcony off the common area was under construction and unusuable. We were not informed ahead of time and greatly disappointed this space wasn't available as advertised. The clear instructions left regarding the outdoor fire pit heavily discouraged using it as an outdoor space to socialize and talk (what we intended) as it bothered the neighbors. There is an option to make a fire on the beach, however we didn't want to leave our young kids unsupervised at the house in the evening, so didn't use this option. The general neighborhood is unwelcoming to STRs, with a sign in the neighbor's yard visible from the kitchen saying "No Short Term Rentals". We are not a rowdy bunch, but in the interest of respecting the property's rules and the neighborhood, felt as though we couldn't really use the outdoor space, except to access the beach.The space was large enough to accommodate our families comfortably, with a big dining table, large kitchen, and enough bedrooms. The Host left clear instructions in a binder. Most of the couches are worn out and unsupportive - I preferred to sit on the floor. The house was mostly clean, however there were some cobwebs in some bedrooms and the pans had a film of soap on them that needed to be rinsed before cooking. We won't be renting in this neighborhood again as it's clear STRs aren't welcome and the rules are quite restrictive, even for a relatively quiet family with kids.

Great spot for a read-on-the-beach getaway!

It is a beautiful property and nice private path to the beach. Quite community great game room and lots of lounging area. There are also a lot of beds so it can accommodate a large family like ours. Our family had a great time and felt right at home. Very responsive property manager as well. Thank you.

Rye was very good at communicating with us and allowed an early check in and an hour late check out (which we ended up not needing).

The host was readily available and accommodating to help as needed. It was a perfect place for a weekend away with friends.
