Luxury River Cabin: Hot Tub, Decks, Amazing Views

The listing photos are accurate and the interior is absolutely gorgeous. Owner has put a lot of effort into updates and it shows. The setting above the Tennessee river is incredible. It faces East, so you get the morning sun but property has wonderful shades to drawn down if you'd like to sleep in. Location: Stock up before arriving and you will have a delightful time. If you are planning on doing stuff in Chattanooga, it is a 9 mile haul heading East down a winding, twisting, dipping, occasional 1 lane back road on the Tennessee river. Be patient and enjoy the views but you are not just popping over to the store for a gallon of milk. The drive back to and from the west was much prettier and easier but that's about 12 miles along an improving 2 lane road. Cleanliness: The interior was immaculate. Sincerely. The exterior was strewn with leaves and cob webs. We're out in the country, in early Fall, I get it. But the entry and back deck did not look like they had been swept in quite a while. Accessibility: The driveway is crazy steep and there are no identifiers from the road. View: The trees on the left side of the property need to be trimmed back as it is diminishing the view of the river and mountains. Dock: Ok, the dock access is down a REALLY steep incline. REALLY steep. You are not letting little kids go down there alone, and as an adult, I made the trip once and decided never again. Just be aware of distance from Chattanooga and steepness of driveway and river access.

Best way to sum it up, my family wants to live there! The house is so comfortable. The views, no matter the weather, breathtaking. Beat my expectations tenfold! The only knock, and I mean only, is the steepness of the terrain leading to the dock. The rope is sufficient, but still a bit of a challenge. Pick your shoes wisely! My daughter is about to attend the University of Mobile on a cross country scholarship, so we used the grade of the hills for our own workouts. The road coming in is…exciting, to say the least, but should be traveled at daytime in order to spot a myriad of wildlife and some blind hills and sharp curves. And the driveway adds an additional amount of excitement when arriving, but hey, we are in the Tennessee River Gorge, what did you expect? We’ll be back! Thanks for an amazing stay! (The sound of distant fireworks roaring through the gorge was unlike anything I’ve ever heard.)

The walk to the dock is alittle steep, other than that no other complaints. Great stay and great host!

Amazing weekend

The house was clean and in excellent condition. The view is wonderful and if you are looking for a place to unplug then this is a great find!
