Sutton Lakehouse on Three Mile Lake in Muskoka

The cottage is beautiful and has everything you need. Pros:- The kids loved swimming off of the dock.- The firepit is lovely- The property manager was quick to respond when we had questions. Recommendations:- bring water shoes as the water is shallow- bring bug repellent as the area is heavily treed so there are quite a few mosquitos and black flys

This property checked all the boxes! We stayed with our family which included kids, dogs and adults. The cottage was very clean, well stocked with more than we needed, spacious (yet cozy!) and had nice size bedrooms/beds that didn’t leave everyone fighting over a primary bedroom haha. Some highlights:- We loved connecting to the interior/exterior sound system- Easy check in/checkout and communication with the host was always quick - Large deck off the cottage and a latched gate at the stairs to keep dogs and kids from wandering - Large dock with space for the kids and dogs to enjoy, ample muskoka chairs or space to sunbathe (even if the time for this was minimal for us due to rainy weather)- Shallow entry to the lake, mostly sand- Wine fridge for drinks so you don’t have to jam everything in the main fridge- Large dining table with 8 chairs, enough space to accommodate everyone.- Although there are neighbours the cottage is very private with lots of foliage and a good distance between cottages. - Walkable main road with minimal traffic for walks. 10/10 would stay here again. This is an amazing property and even better once you see it in person. It's extremely comfortable and perfect for our winter getaway. On arrival the cottage was spotless and well cleaned. Someone also ploughed the driveway when there was snowfall. I was also super impressed that there is a generator in case of power outages so you know that you will be warm and have electricity. In terms of comfort, there are 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms and a futon so enough for even 2 families. The fireplace is a nice touch and we enjoyed playing some of the boardgames provided like checkers, chess and cards. Plenty of standard kitchen items for cooking. Yes, there is no microwave, but we are used to heating up food or coffee on the stove. Standard coffee percolator is provided and my only recommendation kitchen wise would be a small Keurig machine. Upstairs there is a lovely little loft area just outside of the two rooms, perfect for working if you have to, although equally suited to just relaxing and reading a good book. We did not use the balcony much but it's a good size and in the summer a great place to lounge. We did venture down to the lake and in the winter it's stunning. But take care to ensure its frozen over sufficiently before venturing out on there. I didn't but enjoyed the view all the same from the shore. Lots of wildlife such as wild turkeys which visit as well. In terms of amenities close by, I recommend the Port Syndey Freshmart for groceries as it's only about 18min. For coffee there is David's General Store also about 18min or if you venture out to downtown Huntsville (about 27min) try Affogato Cafe and in town there plenty of options for takeout eating and groceries etc. Crossroads restaurant in Rosseau is a must try, the food is outstanding! (23min) There is plenty to do in the area but does require some driving (most within 30min), some highlights would be, Muskoka Goat Away (take a goat for a walk, yes this was a blast the kids loved it), Back of Beyond Equine Centre (for a horse drawn sleigh ride through the snow) plenty of maple places for syrup and other products in the area and Arrowhead Provincial Park if you want to snowshoe. Driving in and out was fine for me, I had snow tires, but the road was ploughed. Still take care if the roads are icy and plan accordingly if and when it is snowing just take your time. This cottage is perfect for relaxing and recharging and we can't wait to return! Thanks to Christine for a great stay.

This is a beautiful cottage, clean, spacious and has a good size property with many trees which allows for privacy. The waterfront is beautiful, walk in shoreline and a dock. I would definitely stay here again. The host accommodated me and made sure everything was scent free which is very nice because many rentals say it will be scent free but isn’t.

Stunning! This bright and inviting cottage felt like home away from home. It was the perfect setting for our family to spend time together and bond with our little one. He learned to crawl right in the living room! It is safe to say that some very precious memories were made here. We took advantage of every minute. One thing we found challenging was the steep decline down to the water. It was difficult for my parents to get down to the dock and for my husband and I while carrying our baby. It is especially slippery when the rocks are wet. As such, we didn't spend as much time down by the water and firepit as we would have liked. Overall, a great stay. Quiet, picture-perfect location with all the amenities you could possibly need. Thanks Holly!

We had a really great stay here. You can immediately tell how much attention went into making this home both beautiful and comfortable. The property itself is large and gives you the amazing cottage feel you expect in the Muskokas. We loved the deck, and of course the dock has a beautiful view of the lake. The bedrooms are perfect with really comfortable beds and bedding. Holly was an incredible host - she answered our questions quickly and was so helpful start to finish! This gorgeous cottage does not disappoint and we would highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful long weekend at Anna's cottage. The space was both beautiful and functional- we loved being able to see the kids from all areas of the main level, as well as the deck with the gate. The kids had a blast jumping off the dock and making s'mores at the fire pit. We would absolutely recommend this space!Thank you Anna for providing the perfect place to make memories as a family

This place was stunning and better than the pictures. It had all the comforts of a modern home with the ambiance and environment of a private family cottage. The best parts were the access to the water via the dock, gorgeous views of the sunset, built-in home and deck speaker systems and variety of kitchen appliances for use. Holly is a very responsive and helpful host with great tips on local resteraunts and activities. Our family had a wonderful time!

The gas fireplace kept us warm and cozy, the TV was great for us to watch movies and wifi was good enough to stream and play with our gaming consoles. We enjoyed the days at the dock canoeing, and just spending time gazing at the lake ...so peaceful.The evenings on the deck with the fam enjoying some banter, coffee and wine. Our property manager was pleasant and responded to requests, the photos online definitely dont show the whole picture, missing a lot of amenities that you would think would be standard at this price point such as a microwave and a coffee maker that worked correctly, on that topic the oven portion of the stove had an intermittent code making it inoperable and successfully canceling my wife’s planned Christmas dinner , the condition of all pots , pans , glassware was deplorable, no face cloths , the area used for indoor trash can was disgusting , the finish carpentry inside was again terrible with areas like the fireplace having inch gaps around the opening, all of this wasn’t shown in your online photos, not a big deal if it was a fishing cabin , but as previously mentioned not acceptable at the price .

We stayed at this beautiful property over Christmas and I have nothing but great things to say about the entire experience. The attention to detail, big and small was impeccable. From booking the property, prior to our stay, to any questions we had during the stay, nothing fell short. The entire place immaculately clean, organized. It smelt incredibly fresh! Something you really appreciate when you have abit of OCD when it comes to cleaning. The driveway was fully shovelled including the deck, it was just so thoughtful. There's a ton of things to do even if you want to stick around in the house, games, jigsaw puzzles and little Knick knacks. The kitchen pretty much has everything you could be looking for and I was also pleasantly surprised to see things in the pantry (random things, spices etc) that we didn't pack but found them in the pantry. The outdoors were stunning, the views, the tranquility in the space. I love would not hesitate to book this cottage over the summer at all. Thank you Holly for being an amazing host!

We loved our stay! Beautiful home with cozy beds and pillows. Nice and airy with the ceiling fans. Great place and layout, very cozy and clean. Little tricky getting down to the water be careful if you have mobility issues.Maybe inquire about the kayak/canoe ahead of time- we didn’t ask the host about it but they were kept under the deck and didn’t seem very accessible/clean so we didn’t bother to take them out.

I loved tree covered space but when you add that beautiful water view it’s bound to help you find your Zen!! Holly was extremely helpful with a couple small things, efficient and responsive. It’s a bit far from civilization but not too bad, and that is probably why it’s so beautiful and peaceful. We both loved it and will look forward to returning.

A beautiful and spacious lakehouse with a spectacular iconic view of the lake. Exactly as depicted in the photos. This was the best equipped rental property that we've ever stayed at. We enjoyed just winding down, walking in the snow and chatting around the fireplace. The beds were extremely comfortable and given its peaceful location, we slept really soundly.Thank you, Holly!

The cottage is modern, clean, comfortable and well-stocked. Beautiful views from inside the cottage onto the lake below. Neighbour cottages are quite close, but during our December stay, this wasn't a big deal as it wasn't very busy. Host was very responsive. Overall, we loved the place. The only trouble we ran into: it snowed on our last night there and we got stuck on the first ~5km of road leading out of the cottage. We were able to sort it out eventually but just be warned that even with winter tires, navigating the twisty hills over snow can be very tricky! But its worth it for a beautiful winter getaway.

Overall such a beautiful cottage and the beds were so comfortable! We enjoyed sun tanning on the dock and having our morning coffee on the deck. Highly recommend!

What a fantastic cottage. Everything thought of by the owners and it felt like an 5* hotel. We all had an amazing relaxing stay. Great location. If I could give 10 stars I would!
