Numerous On-Site Trails: Earlysville Wooded Cabin

Beautiful, tastefully decorated cozy cottage, is furnished with antiques, and is just as described in the listing. The cottage was surrounded by trees, birds, butterflies, and flowers this week in May, to be enjoyed with our morning coffee on the porch. Cottage is located between the woods and the house of friendly hosts Barb and Greg, who were ready with helpful suggestions about things to do in the area, which isn’t too far from Shenandoah National Park. Private trails are on the property. Quality towels, and soft linens on the very comfortable king-sized bed were a plus. It’s a very pretty place to get away to and relax in.

This was the perfect weekend! The cabin was beautiful and the fireplace made it even more cozy. We had everything we needed on the property and Barbara was so helpful. Couldn’t have been a better trip!

Our 3 nights at the little cabin was the most relaxing weekend we have had in many years. The owners were welcoming and friendly upon arrival. Cabin sets deep in the woods, very near several wineries. Laying in bed watch Netflix movies with Duraflame log fires was sooo relaxing in the historic cabin. We will come back again. We LOVED the cabin!

Quiet. Peaceful. Comfortable. A perfect weekend for two tired parents. We expected to do some local vineyard visits and hikes/trail walks, but we ended up resting and enjoying the comfort of the cabin. My only regret was that we were there during the fireplace off season. That’s the only thing that could have elevated our enjoyment of this space. Great weekend.

The cabin is wonderful. We had a great stay and look forward to next time. This is THE place to stay if you aew anywhere near here. The cabin has all you need. It is so quaint and tucked into the woods. The trails are fun to walk. The hosts were wonderful every step of the way. We visited Monticello, local shops and restaurants, and had a great lunch at Michie Tavern.

The property was very nice with great walking paths through the woods. A covered porch to sit and watch the wildlife. The hosts were resourceful and accommodating.

They cabin was beautiful and more than met my expectations! The front porch was so nice with the hummingbirds coming to visit! It was so hot out but the cabin was cool and comfortable. Saw so many deer, dogs and horses! It was a great little trip! Would lo e to come down in the fall, it would be gorgeous!

The quality linens on the comfortable king size bed made for a great night’s sleep. The friendly hosts live in the separate big house next door, and were most helpful with suggestions for things to do and ways to get around. There are private trails to explore on the property. We visited some of the many antique shops in the area, and enjoyed driving along the rural roads and up on the Skyline Drive in our convertible. This place is a gem!

Wonderful cabin in the woods near Shenandoah NP. It was lovely to hear the birds in the morning. The porch is a wonderful place for coffee. The bed was comfortable. The hosts were friendly and check in was easy. Be sure to plan ahead food wise, there aren’t restaurants or stores nearby. This was a wonderful retreat!

We enjoyed the peacefulness of the cabin. The comfy front porch was great for reading and bird watching. We had a lovely stay.

The property is beautiful with lovely trees and plantings. Barb and Greg are wonderful and kind hosts - their home is adjacent. The surrounding area is gorgeous - rolling farm/horse country. The bathroom smelt like sewage,no way to call owners.

We very much enjoyed our time at the cabin! Very clean, beautiful property and very kind and responsive owners. Perfect for an anniversary get away. Would love to visit again and definitely would recommend!

My husband & I stayed 3 nights for our 30 year anniversary. Pros: The cabin's adorable! The grounds-beautiful, & the path around the property is fun. The owners even set up a bird feeder right in front of the porch! Everything's provided as expected. The soaps given are soothing. The drive up to the cabin is gorgeous. It's really not far from Charlottesville, creeks/rivers/lakes for fishing, etc. Go to Maybelle's-delicious food/ice cream, & everyone's so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace. Cons: The first night we got into the bed, we smelled a 'funk' (body odor); the sheets/covers were not clean. The pillows smelled horrible. So, we slept on top of the covers & wrapped up in a blanket we happened to bring along & slept without pillows. I messaged the owner the next morning who indicated they would be changed. Some of the covers were changed; sheets were same color, so we couldn't tell, but the pillows still smelled terrible. We paid a lot of money to have to sleep on top of the covers. Packets of hot chocolate were provided, but couldn't be used because a mouse had chewed a hole in them. The cabin is RIGHT beside the house. While the owners never bothered us once, we did feel the need to keep the blinds shut on that side of the cabin. They have two pretty dogs. I tried to read on the porch, but one barked at me the entire time, so I went in. I hate giving a bad review. I really do. While we will not return to the cabin, I would suggest giving it a try.

The cabin was amazing had everything you needed. The only thing I would caution is the bed mattress is in desperate need of replacement. For the money you pay the mattress should be higher quality. That said I would recommend it and we enjoyed our stay. The owner and their two dogs were extremely nice and welcoming.

Perfect location for visiting historical sites and the National Park in central Virginia. The cabin was very comfy with all the needed extras !

Had a great stay here. Perfectly located to hit vineyards on the higher side of Monticello wine trail. The cabin is quiet and the hosts are very helpful. I would definitely recommend this to friends. There were no surprises. The description is dead on.

the cabin is an extraordinary old buildng in a beautiful rural Virginia area and hosts were very helpful in finding good places to see/go. Lots of driving on winding country roads but that is part of the charm. Side trip to Madison's home, Montpelier, was better than expected. Skyline Drive was nearby and providied great hiking and sightseeing.
