We had a wonderful stay at the bungalow. Everything was just as described, and we couldn’t have been more comfortable. Everyone enjoyed the trails and having time together in the cozy cabin, playing darts, and sitting and talking by the fire. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants to get away from a busy life and just relax in the beautiful wooded cottage.
We had a wonderful stay at the bungalow. Everything was just as described, and we couldn’t have been more comfortable. Everyone enjoyed the trails and having time together in the cozy cabin, playing darts, and sitting and talking by the fire. We stayed here for a Girls Getaway, my mom and the three of us sisters. The VRBO was lovely inside and out and functional for all our activities. My mom uses a walker and the floors were level making it easy to get around. A couple days it was raining and storming, so we appreciated the use of the garage and that the VRBO manager kept us informed during the tornado warning. We also liked the central location between Rochester and Lanesboro.

Barb’s Bungalow is an absolutely charming property! We stayed for a pre-wedding ladies retreat and couldn’t be happier. We had plenty of space to spread out our yoga mats in front of the wood burning fireplace. The game room upstairs was perfect for relaxing with our books, and we very much enjoyed walking the trails on the property. We can’t wait to come back for another adventure in the future!

The property was even better than the pictures. An open front porch has been added. The house was clean and roomy. It was a nice meeting place for friends. The yard was secluded yet there were neighbors. The property had several walking trails through the property which we loved. The host was very responsive and easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay.

Check in was easy. We parked a car in the very clean garage. Kitchen had everything we needed. Barb got back to us quickly with a question. The area is quiet and private with places to sit outdoors. You could see a horse next door at its stable. The area is beautiful and close to Rochester with its many good restaurants.

What a lovely home and gorgeous location! Even though we had some bitterly cold days, we loved hiking all the trails along the river with our Golden Retreiver. It was so quiet and peaceful. Snow was even removed promptly. This is a place we would love to return to!

The wooded acreage was beautiful with trails and river vistas to enjoy. The yard, patio, front porch, fire ring, fire wood, and grill were ours to use at will. The rooms themselves were comfortable and well kept. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and you will not find a more helpful and communicative host than Barb. We highly recommend the Bungalow!

Efficient check-in. I received a detailed message via VRBO from owner a few days before arrival. The email contained all the information regarding the rental and surrounding area. The directions to the rental made it easy to find. This rental is handicapped accessible with no entry stairs, first floor bedroom and bathroom with easy shower entry. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the quiet seclusion.

Our family loved our stay! The place was perfect for our family of five and dog. We built fires in the fireplace, grilled chicken on the grill, roasted marshmallows over the campfire, took king walks on the trails and played a lot of games of darts. We also enjoyed driving up to Rochester to visit Cafe Aqui. Highly recommend this spot.

We were a family of 5- 2 adults in 60s and three adult children in their mid-20’s. This was a peaceful getaway with hiking trails both on the property and available at a nearby camp. It was spacious, clean and accommodated our family well.

The property was exceptional. Beautifully kept grounds & inside was wonderfully inviting & comfortable. The host provided many conveninces from a handy spice rack to firewood. We had some weather related travel hiccups & the host was very kind to accommodate a last minute change for us. Our heartfelt thanks to her! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would recommend to others.

Everything was clean. i loved that the kitchen was well supplied with everything you need to cook a meal. The pictures are accurate of the interior and exterior. We enjoyed hosting family meals and played card games. It was our honeymoon and family reunion combined. Cooked out in the firepit and had somores with grand kids.

Lovely home and grounds. Lots of welcome natural light on the ground floor with a cozy sectional upstairs. Miles of hiking trails with access right outside the door. Great communication by the host and the maintenance man after a late season snow storm to ensure we could get out if needed. Unexpected bonus was the spacious off-leash dog park a short drive away in Stewartville just past the grocery store on 20th Street. Tip for others: Our phones’ hot spot internet connections outperformed the wi-fi in the house. Not a big deal for us though. We would return for another stay.

The Bungalow was the perfect set up for my family of 5 adults and my infant grandson. Great location with hiking trails on private land. We enjoyed eating in Stewartville and Rochester. We also did an escape room while there. I would recommend to pack your slippers for the cold tile on the main floor. Great time with my family.

Great location, wonderful stay, So nice to be able to leave Mayo Clinic, and escape to a secluded hideaway. This is our second visit. Barb our host is a pleasure to work with. Would enjoy a return visit.

We stayed here for a Girls Getaway, my mom and the three of us sisters. The VRBO was lovely inside and out and functional for all our activities. My mom uses a walker and the floors were level making it easy to get around. A couple days it was raining and storming, so we appreciated the use of the garage and that the VRBO manager kept us informed during the tornado warning. We also liked the central location between Rochester and Lanesboro.

We were looking for a place for friends to meet for a weekend get-together. This place was perfect for us! The wooded setting was very nice and the house is still close enough to town to make things very convenient.

Check in was easy. We parked a car in the very clean garage. Kitchen had everything we needed. Barb got back to us quickly with a question. The area is quiet and private with places to sit outdoors. You could see a horse next door at its stable. The area is beautiful and close to Rochester with its many good restaurants.

Stayed 3 weeks. It was wonderful. Especially liked the trails for hiking with our dog. It was close to Rochester and Stewartville had a nice grocery called Fareway. Also had a good place for pizza called 2 Brothers. My son liked the proximity to Anytime Fitness too.

Our 2nd time here, enjoyed it very much and I'm sure we'll be back again as its one of the few rentals that allow dogs within a 30 mile radius of my in-laws. We especially love the trails and playing darts with our teenager. As many reviews mention, kitchen is well stocked, I brought the ingredients but had everything I needed to make a batch of Christmas cookies, including a hand mixer and cooling rack. Do note not every size measuring spoon or cup was there (i.e. several 1/2 cups but no 1 cup) but plenty to work with!

This was the perfect home for our family of 4 (3 adults and 1 teen). We had all the supplies we needed. The game room is where we spent most of our time- playing darts and cards. We had a fire out back one night - plenty of wood and beautiful surroundings. We had to contact Barb once and she was very helpful and responsive.

Everything was clean. i loved that the kitchen was well supplied with everything you need to cook a meal. The pictures are accurate of the interior and exterior. We enjoyed hosting family meals and played card games. It was our honeymoon and family reunion combined. Cooked out in the firepit and had somores with grand kids.

The wooded acreage was beautiful with trails and river vistas to enjoy. The yard, patio, front porch, fire ring, fire wood, and grill were ours to use at will. The rooms themselves were comfortable and well kept. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and you will not find a more helpful and communicative host than Barb. We highly recommend the Bungalow!

This is a really cute property with a well-stocked kitchen (in terms of cooking utensils) and nice places to walk. We loved the wood fireplace. It has a no-step entrance and a bedroom and bath on the first floor. The bathroom entrance is partially blocked by a washer/dryer so a wheelchair can't get through but if you can get yourself down the hall it'll be an accessible getaway! Even equipped with a shower chair! We really liked it.

Our family loved our stay! The place was perfect for our family of five and dog. We built fires in the fireplace, grilled chicken on the grill, roasted marshmallows over the campfire, took king walks on the trails and played a lot of games of darts. We also enjoyed driving up to Rochester to visit Cafe Aqui. Highly recommend this spot.

It was a very clean, well stocked home. The kitchen has all the tools need, working coffee pot, and microwave. The shampoo and conditioner was provided, along with plenty of toilet paper, Kleenex, and hand soaps. The host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. I enjoyed the quiet stay while I had my appointments throughout the week. I would definetly stay here again.

Weather was warm for Feb in MN so grounds were soggy and did not allow us to hike and explore the trails on the property. House was clean and all amenities required were found in bathrooms and kitchen. We enjoyed exploring Rochester finding several great dining spots. Hope to return in summer to experience the surroundings of this unique hideway log house.
