Secluded Riverfront Cottage | Sauna, Fire & Kayaks

Nice location. Stove needs replacement (oven does not close, only small burners work), microwave needs replacement (can’t open), screen door handle lower level needs replacement (will close and lock you out). Stove and microwave big deal. Since replacement is relatively easy. Current ones are old and I can’t believe I’m the 1st to complain.

The stay here was okay. It was located in a beautiful area in the woods next to the river. However, there was a lack of communication with the host when we had issues. The host addressed that there were 3 air mattresses provided. There were only 2 mattresses present and both had holes in them. Two of the four burners on the stove weren’t working at all. Life jackets weren’t provided even though the host addressed it was provided. Cellular service was hardly present during our stay. The WiFi was terribly slow and kept disconnecting, but it was the only line of communication. With wifi only available, the Host must provide a stable WiFi connection. I sent the host several issues found during our stay. When I sent an issue of holes in air mattresses, I didn’t receive a response until the next day and wasn't given a resolution. We received an apology response from the host saying he didn’t receive our messages through the Vrbo app. With the lack of communication at the house has made us uncomfortable to not consider staying here again.

We had a peaceful extended weekend getaway at this property. The cottage was exactly as pictured and described. The location is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. We spent a lot of time on the deck, watching the Muskegon River and listening to the song birds. We even heard a Barred Owl and saw some loons and a few deer. I also enjoyed the surrounding area. I took my dogs for a walk each morning along the dirt roads surrounding the property. There was very little traffic and lots of interesting smells for them to sniff. They thoroughly enjoyed their time at the cottage. Robert, the host, was very responsive to all of my questions before the trip and upon arrival. He was incredibly friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this cottage for a relaxing nature retreat, no matter the season. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful location with us.

This place was a perfect hideaway! Right on the river! My husband and I enjoyed a snowy weekend away with our dog and this place was cozy and had everything we needed and then some!
