We have stayed at quite a few vrbo’s with our kids, and this has been the most thoughtfully crafted, magical, and luxurious place we have encountered. From the beautifully lit pathway to the brand new fully functioning kitchen appliances, to the plush towels in the simple yet chic bathroom. Literally everything about this place felt like a little gift for our family… We have 2 children ages 15 and 17, and we decided to have a restful day of hiking and soaking up sunshine before heading into the world of college tours. We were able to park our car and walk up to China Camp State Park…steep incline… and then walk down to have a yummy lunch at a local deli. The shared hot tub also was easily accessible and felt private. If you are looking for a place to relax and find peace among the trees, this is IT!

Es war ein grandioser Aufenthalt mit viel Ruhe, Weitblick, einem wunderbaren Rundhaus und einem genialen Hot tub unter Sternenhimmel. Ich konnte 2 Tage abschalten. Eine wunderbare Umgebung mit China Camp oder kurzen Wegen zur Mission. Danke von Herzen an Joe und Mila, will be back for sure ❣️🦋🙏

This was absolutely an amazing place to stay. We wanted to experience SanFrancisco and this place was so amazing we never wanted to leave the house most days. Enjoyed coffee on the wrap around porch with birds and spectacular views of the bay! I could go on and on about this place and how welcomed we felt by Mr. & Mrs.Dunn! We will definitely stay there again!

The San Rafael treehouse is a wonderful dome house located in a beautiful, secluded section of San Rafael. It has an very nice view of San Francisco Bay from a circular deck with a glass railing which helps to provide a better view. The house is very modern and clean and includes pretty much every amenity you need for 1 - 4 people. My family (my wife and two children) slept comfortably in the house and didn't need much outdoor space other than the deck because we were so close to a lot of attractions which kept us busy all day, such as the San Francisco city area and Muir Woods. The city is easily accessible from the Larkspur ferry. We also enjoyed meeting the owners who were very gracious and hospitable but didn't "drop in" or check in with us all the time which gave us much appreciated privacy. Joe's suggestion to take the ferry also proved a real winner! Overall, great experience.

Joe's round treehouse is a fun place to stay when visiting the San Rafael area. The place is surrounded by trees and birds with a great view of the bay as well. While the property is small, it is very comfortable and has everything you should need for a visit (note that there is no laundry in the unit). We felt like we were in a private treehouse even though Joe's house is not far away. With the wraparound deck, you can lounge outside with a view in whatever direction you'd like! We highly recommend Joe's place for your next visit to Marin County!

We are spoiled for any other rental. The house was perfect. We have never seen one kept in such great repair. Everything you could need while staying was supplied in the house. The view was awesome. The porch was amazing. The house was spacious and comfortable. The amenities were great. The location was convenient to everything. The host was considerate and friendly and even let us check in early. We wish we could have this rental everywhere we travel!

We stayed here for 7 nights. This place is great. It's very clean, up to date and quiet. We enjoyed the privacy of the property and the view through the trees of Loch Lamond Marina. Everything was provided including a full kitchen with all the utensils, coffee maker, dishwasher and refrigerator. Although we didn't watch much tv, we had access to Netflix, Roku, Prime Video and a few other streaming services. Joe and Mali were great hosts. We will definately by staying here again.

The rental exceeded all my expectations! I especially loved the quiet and secluded location of the cottage. The interiors are thoughtfully appointed and designed, providing a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. All the amenities I needed were available, including an ironing board, iron, fridge, and toaster. It was delightful to sit on the deck and relax in the sun. Even small details such as bathroom towels and bathroom tissue were of premium quality! I had a bit of trouble finding the correct driveway at night, but you can locate the house number on the mailbox just before the driveway. It's clear that the rental is managed with care and love, ensuring a wonderful experience for all fortunate guests!

Came to town to support my son in a sporting event with my Dad. The place was excellent! First, if you’re a nature lover (especially from other regions of the country), just wow! The place is nestled amongst the trees which create a dense canopy above, with some views of the boats on the bay. Got the chance to trail run at the nearby China Camp State Park and loved it. Second, the house’s construction is downright fascinating; always something to look at and ponder on what a labor of love it was to build. Loved that half of the house was surrounded with windows from floor to ceiling, which made enjoying the outdoors and views so accessible. The house was outfitted with everything we needed to enjoy living there and was appointed very well. Finally, enjoyed our short visits with our gracious host, Joe, who was willing to share some of his story, including the houses construction journey, which was substantial. Thanks to Joe and family for helping us create such a wonderful experience! Highly recommend the Garden Cafe and Miracle Mile Cafe in San Rafael for breakfast too! Overall, gave my Dad and I a chance to reconnect, living half way across the country from each other; the memory will live forever!

This is a lovely property in a lovely setting. Quiet natural setting yet very convenient to all that Marin has to offer. The hosts, who live in the main house on the property, were responsive and friendly but unobtrusive…which was perfect for us. The unit is well appointed and maintained and extremely clean. Our mid-week rate was an excellent value for such a great property and location. Overall, very highly recommended.

Our interaction with the owner and his helpfulness to us was remarkable. I even had to have something shipped prior to my arrival and he was happy to receive it for me. The accommodations are first reight, fresh flowers, coffee in the refrigerator, clean and comfortable. Everything was as good as we could've asked. We were in San Rafael for a wedding and this was a perfect two nights for us to rest.

We had a wonderful stay in the cutest treehouse/yurt! It was the end of our honeymoon and we were able to stay for several days. The space was perfect for us. Our hosts were gracious. The view was impeccable. Watching the birds and other creatures was our evening ritual. We can't say enough great things about our stay there. Do yourselves a favor and stay in this amazing treehouse!

The place is nestled amongst the trees which create a dense canopy above, with some views of the boats on the bay. Got the chance to trail run at the nearby China Camp State Park and loved it. Second, the house’s construction is downright fascinating; always something to look at and ponder on what a labor of love it was to build. Joe & Mali are very responsive hosts. There was a problem with the heating when we arrived. They immediately took action by supplying us with space heaters and calling heating companies to address the problem. They even invited us to dinner as a way of thanking us for our patience! We loved the beautiful surroundings and hope to return when the weather is warmer so that we can enjoy sitting out on the deck.

What a beautiful treasure to stay in and unwind! Tranquility at its best and close to many amenities. A treasure!! Everything is perfect for one or two people. The kitchen has staples to get your brewing in the morning and prepare your meals. Joe and Mali were very responsive hosts to my questions. Will definitely stay here again when back in the area.

Our interaction with the owner and his helpfulness to us was remarkable. I even had to have something shipped prior to my arrival and he was happy to receive it for me. The accommodations are first reight, fresh flowers, coffee in the refrigerator, clean and comfortable. Everything was as good as we could've asked. We were in San Rafael for a wedding and this was a perfect two nights for us to rest.

We so enjoyed our stay. The cottage was just beautiful. Everything about our stay and the area was great. I had a brief conversation with Joe at check-in, who was kind and helpful and that was all we needed because everything else was well thought of and we were perfectly taken care of. We are spoiled for any other rental. The house was perfect. We have never seen one kept in such great repair. Everything you could need while staying was supplied in the house. The view was awesome. The porch was amazing. The house was spacious and comfortable. The amenities were great. The location was convenient to everything. The host was considerate and friendly and even let us check in early. We wish we could have this rental everywhere we travel!

The San Rafael treehouse is a wonderful dome house located in a beautiful, secluded section of San Rafael. It has an very nice view of San Francisco Bay from a circular deck with a glass railing which helps to provide a better view. The house is very modern and clean and includes pretty much every amenity you need for 1 - 4 people. My family (my wife and two children) slept comfortably in the house and didn't need much outdoor space other than the deck because we were so close to a lot of attractions which kept us busy all day, such as the San Francisco city area and Muir Woods. The city is easily accessible from the Larkspur ferry. We also enjoyed meeting the owners who were very gracious and hospitable but didn't "drop in" or check in with us all the time which gave us much appreciated privacy. Joe's suggestion to take the ferry also proved a real winner! Overall, great experience.

Close to great restaurants, the ferry to SF and lovely walks. I can’t say enough in the positive. The owners greeted us when we arrived and they were super. My favorite rental of all time.

What a delight ! The “Yurt” shaped cottage in the trees was so clean and classy! The cottage felt like a warm hug! We had a lovely talk with the owner upon arrival . It was a perfect location for us to head out on our 3 daily trips: San Fran, Napa, and Pt Reyes. I would highly recommend this property. The harbor is right below with a nice market for groceries, take out meals, and a small bar too! And quick access to Rt101. We would definitely stay again!

We have stayed at quite a few vrbo’s with our kids, and this has been the most thoughtfully crafted, magical, and luxurious place we have encountered. From the beautifully lit pathway to the brand new fully functioning kitchen appliances, to the plush towels in the simple yet chic bathroom. Literally everything about this place felt like a little gift for our family… We have 2 children ages 15 and 17, and we decided to have a restful day of hiking and soaking up sunshine before heading into the world of college tours. We were able to park our car and walk up to China Camp State Park…steep incline… and then walk down to have a yummy lunch at a local deli. The shared hot tub also was easily accessible and felt private. If you are looking for a place to relax and find peace among the trees, this is IT!

We stayed here for 7 nights. This place is great. It's very clean, up to date and quiet. We enjoyed the privacy of the property and the view through the trees of Loch Lamond Marina. Everything was provided including a full kitchen with all the utensils, coffee maker, dishwasher and refrigerator. Although we didn't watch much tv, we had access to Netflix, Roku, Prime Video and a few other streaming services. Joe and Mali were great hosts. We will definately by staying here again.

Just wanted a quiet place to relax. Enjoyed sitting on the deck in the trees, seeing squirrels and even a fox strolling by. Great location, 2 minutes to Andy’s market, 10 minutes to downtown. Clean and comfy!

Joe was very helpful yet circumspect. He lives on the property where his guest cottage is located, but did not impose at ALL on our privacy. We didn’t even see him, yet he promptly responded on the Vbro app to any question we had. His guest cottage is charming, very clean & very private. We expected a long TO DO list before we checked out, but instead we learned that almost *nothing* was expected of us except for turning down the heat! He didn’t even ask that we take the sheets off the bed (or remove garbage & recycling)! We didn’t run the dishwasher because we didn’t use it. Joe is an A host. We loved that all cleaning issues were covered, just as they are in a hotel. We’d definitely book with Joe again!
