We were looking for a scenic, oceanfront vacation rental to start our trip in Nova Scotia and we were not disappointed. The only thing we did not like was having to leave. The cottage was super clean, with a well stocked kitchen area that met all our needs. The cottage is positioned to take in the wonderful views of McGrath's Cove and be completely private. We enjoyed the ocean views from inside the cottage, from the covered deck, from the fire pit patio, and from the rocks in front of the cottage. Memorable views from every angle.

Aunt and Uncle loved their stay. Quiet, private but close to Peggy’s Cove and other venues. Enjoyed the kayaks, hammock and waves lapping on the shore in the mornings. Also, great spot for bird watching!

Clean, quiet, picturesque little retreat. Fabulous view of the cove. Just minutes from Peggy's Cove. The double hammocks, front porch, fire pit, dock all make this a great place to stay.. Shower water is temperamental but overall I recommend this place to any couple looking for a relaxing stay.

Love at first sight. The cottage is set up perfectly, all needs have been thought of. The location, close to Peggys Cove was perfect for our needs. Peaceful mornings overlooking the cove and evenings at the firepit watching the stars could not have been more perfect. We will definately place this on our list of places to return to.

Thank you for sharing your spectacular property with us. Rock Haven cottage is located on a beautiful bay where you feel like you are the only person for miles. The cottage is extremely comfortable and very tastefully done. We watched the osprey work on their nests, listened to the birds sing & watched a few boats come and go from the beautiful porch. A fire in the fire pit was a nice way to end the day. Highly recommend this cottage.

Beautiful location, remote, quiet, peaceful. Anything you’d need is there. Heavenly ! Water pressure was a little low since it’s from a cistern, but I believe a plumber was called out the day we talked to owner. I’d stay there 6 months if I could, the the view from the front porch was breathtaking. The cottage itself is beautiful. Thank you! Hope to come back someday.

Very sweet cottage, totally cut off from the world. A little private oasis! Kayaked, swam off the dock, watched the birds and seals in the bay. 100/10 would come back again and again!!

This place was an amazing find for our family of five to stay in while visiting Nova Scotia. It had a perfect cozy vibe and the cottage decor was beautiful. The view is beautiful and outside of this cottage is laid out perfectly to enjoy many different adventures. We enjoyed the fire pit, the kayaks, patio and more. Even on rainy days this cottage provided us with the necessities to have a wonderful time. Thanks for this wonderful stay and we hope to have the opportunity to come back in the future!!

It is unlikely you'll find a property in a more beautiful location. Right on the water with unobstructed views of the water and undeveloped islands. Much thought has been put into making the stay a pleasant one for guests. The cottage is small (as accurately described) but we made it work with 6 full sized people and there is a lot of outdoor space to spread out. We enjoyed getting out of the water and having a seal visitor each day. Great location that makes for easy day trips. Matthew was also very responsive and also make accommodations to solve a problem related to a mistake that I made with the booking.
It is unlikely you'll find a property in a more beautiful location. Right on the water with unobstructed views of the water and undeveloped islands. The cottage is small (as accurately described) but we made it work with 6 full sized people and there is a lot of outdoor space to spread out. This property was amazing in all aspects. It was clean, welcoming, and had great views. It is located only minutes away from Peggy’s Cove and a short drive to Halifax. Our stay was very nice and cannot wait to come back.

Our first time to NS, not fully appreciating how beautiful this part of the southern coast really is. This cottage is right in the heart of it, and offers a most serene respite from the otherwise very busy Polly’s Cove only a few miles away. The cottage is extremely clean and very well maintained. One last shout out to our host Matthew who is most diligent with any requests you may have. Stay there, you won’t regret it.

We spent three nights at Rock haven and were very pleased with the property. sitting out on the porch with a view of the bay was very peaceful. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. We were a little surprised to see no tv....but who needs it there. The area is convenient for Peggy's cove and the owners suggestion of the drive down old hwy 3 to Lunenburg was fantastic. My only complaint would be .... and I understand why... (the cottage is at the rear of the owners property at the bay, and the driveway passes by the side of the owners private home.) They ask you to stay on the cottage property and ask that there be no foot traffic down the laneway, so we were not really able to go for a walk to the street from the cottage. But otherwise everything is great and is as described.

The scenery is absolutely heavenly and it’s close by restaurants, the famous Peggy’s Cove lighthouse, etc. The guest house is well-built, well equipped, tastefully decorated, practically outfitted, and super clean. We loved our week at this beautiful cottage. Cottage was small but very cozy and had everything we needed. The view was amazing. I loved the piece and quite of no TV but my husband would have preferred a TV. If you want tranquility, this is your place. Worst part of the whole trip has nothing to do with the cottage but the route to and from the cottage. Roads a terribly curvy. If you get motion sick, take plenty of dramamine.

This property is a real gem! It sounds like an exaggerated cliché, but in this case, it's the honest truth. The cottage itself is incredibly cozy, and the entire property is outfitted with every imaginable creature comfort. The view out the front door of the bay surrounded by evergreen trees, and the Atlantic Ocean beyond, is breathtaking. The location is secluded and quiet, simply idyllic. The entire time I felt at one with nature and the environment. I genuinely can't think of a better place to get away from it all. Matthew is super friendly and responsive, as well, and made the entire rental process a walk in the park.

We had a great stay at your quaint cottage on the water. Every detail was perfect. It was in a perfect spot to explore the area or stay and enjoy the cottage and water. You were always available if needed and responded very quickly to any questions. Would love to come back. Thank you!

This property is absolutely amazing!! The beauty of the location, pictures can not due justice. The cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway!! The host was great with communication and very helpful with local information.. It's an amazing place to stay!!

Wish your scale provided scoring above 5 stars because this cottage is a 10+,!!!! From our before arrival communications with the host to the on-line pictures presenting a 100% accurate representation of this cozy cottage, this sweet place was perfect. Spent two days and nights and left wishing we had allotted more time to staying at Rock Haven Cottage. Don’t even question booking your stay. While there be sure to visit Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse, eat at Rhubarb’s, and stroll the quaint villages of Mahone Bay and Lunenberg. Be sure to stop by the Tea Brewery in Mahone Bay for a delicious hot drink...my fav was the chai latte. The sunrises at the cottage are truly beautiful. Don’t miss this gem.

5 star reviews are accurate. Excellent communication from the manager for weather concerns and general recommendations. Weather changed our ideas of outdoor activities but the cottage was a perfect place to hunker down and enjoy the indoor time!

It is unlikely you'll find a property in a more beautiful location. Right on the water with unobstructed views of the water and undeveloped islands. Much thought has been put into making the stay a pleasant one for guests. The cottage is small (as accurately described) but we made it work with 6 full sized people and there is a lot of outdoor space to spread out. We enjoyed getting out of the water and having a seal visitor each day. Great location that makes for easy day trips. Matthew was also very responsive and also make accommodations to solve a problem related to a mistake that I made with the booking.

This property was amazing in all aspects. It was clean, welcoming, and had great views. It is located only minutes away from Peggy’s Cove and a short drive to Halifax. Our stay was very nice and cannot wait to come back.

This was by far the best VRBO experience we have had. The cabin was exactly as depicted, clean, well outfitted and was a great base to explore much of Nova Scotia from. The panoramic view of the water as well as the privacy could not be better. Peggy's Cove is just minutes away as well as several restaurants to choose from. Local favorite's and tourist attractions. McGrath's Cove is 30 minutes from Halifax, 1.25 hours from Oak Island, 1.25 from Lunenburg, about the same from Grand Pre' and the Bay of Fundy is a nice day trip. Highly recommend this property and the host.

Our first time to NS, not fully appreciating how beautiful this part of the southern coast really is. This cottage is right in the heart of it, and offers a most serene respite from the otherwise very busy Polly’s Cove only a few miles away. The cottage is extremely clean and very well maintained. One last shout out to our host Matthew who is most diligent with any requests you may have. Stay there, you won’t regret it.

We spent three nights at Rock haven and were very pleased with the property. sitting out on the porch with a view of the bay was very peaceful. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. We were a little surprised to see no tv....but who needs it there. The area is convenient for Peggy's cove and the owners suggestion of the drive down old hwy 3 to Lunenburg was fantastic. My only complaint would be .... and I understand why... (the cottage is at the rear of the owners property at the bay, and the driveway passes by the side of the owners private home.) They ask you to stay on the cottage property and ask that there be no foot traffic down the laneway, so we were not really able to go for a walk to the street from the cottage. But otherwise everything is great and is as described.

Beautiful location, remote, quiet, peaceful. Anything you’d need is there. Heavenly ! Water pressure was a little low since it’s from a cistern, but I believe a plumber was called out the day we talked to owner. I’d stay there 6 months if I could, the the view from the front porch was breathtaking. The cottage itself is beautiful. Thank you! Hope to come back someday.

Loved it. The views are spectacular. You literally are on the ocean front. Birds and deer and bunnies were seen. Highly recommend this cute and cozy cottage.
