Juju’s Pond House on Smith Pond

My 12 year old says it was awesome sauce. The 15 yr old loved it as well. Plenty of room inside and out for the 3 of us. Very clean, quiet, and comfortable property. Most of our time was spent outside kayaking, paddle boating, and fishing. Would love to stay again

We had the pleasure of staying at the charming “Ju-Ju’s” Pond House, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Nestled in a serene and picturesque setting, the Pond House is the perfect getaway for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The scenery is nothing short of breathtaking. The pond, surrounded by lush greenery, provided a tranquil backdrop that is both soothing and invigorating. Whether you're enjoying a morning coffee on the outdoor deck or taking a leisurely stroll around the property, the natural beauty is ever-present and awe-inspiring. The outdoor decks were a highlight of the Pond House. Spacious and well-furnished, they offered the ideal spot to relax and take in the stunning views. We spent countless hours lounging on the deck, reading a book, fishing and simply soaking up the peaceful ambiance. In the evenings, the decks were perfect for watching the sunset! Overall, the Pond House offered a unique blend of cozy comfort and natural beauty. It's a place where you can unwind, reconnect with nature, and create lasting memories. We can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait for our next visit!

It was a beautiful property, beautiful house. It was peaceful to sit on that screen porch and just look out over the pond and me and my husband loved it and definitely will be back.

This property was better than we could have imagined! We brought e-bikes with us and were pleasantly surprised to find numerous trails to bike/walk on around the pond and through the woods. It was so private and peaceful. Choice of 3 fire pits to catch any view you like and 2 docks to fish from or have breakfast. Kayak and paddle boat to play on the pond. The house was super clean and well appointed, bed was comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed.

my wife and i had a wonderful stay. great comunication, as we arrived very late and had no promlems getting in. the house was clean and comfortable. it has been updated nicely without loising the charm. as a contractor i am parcial to the old houses. the views where awsome! we also enjoyed a fire in the fire pit overlooking the lake. did some fishin, no luck, and brought my binoculars.thank you very much for a wonderfull stay. 10-10 we will absolutly stay again.

We loved this property. It felt like staying at grandmas. Very private and secluded. We enjoyed being able to explore the property and use the paddle boat in the pond. Would definitely stay here again if in the area, just wish it slept more so we could share such a beautiful place with family.

Love staying here . So quiet and peaceful ! The screened or the glassed in porch gives you options yet both still having the view of the beautiful pond !

Beautiful place to stay & fish, walk trails, have a fire & just relax!

Very peaceful, plenty of seating, great fishing, and cozy. I enjoyed reading in multiple locations. We walked around the trail, it’s a good walk so be prepared. Restaurants only about 20-30 min away. Hosts were very polite and helpful.

We loved the time we spent and will definitely be booking again. Everything was as posted. My husband and i took a nice walk around the pond and enjoyed sitting on the screened back porch. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

I was in Headland Al. for flight training. It was a little further to drive but so much nicer then a hotel. Clean and peaceful with plenty of land to go for a walk. If I have to go back to this area I would definitely stay here again.

We wish we lived closer to this gem of a property so we could get away to it more often. Our family stayed here for several nights while visiting our grandmother/mother in a nearby long term care facility. Seeing our loved one’s health decline was very emotionally difficult for our family and being able to retreat to this property was a life saver for all of us. Matt the owner was also so kind to allow us to have a few additional family members out to visit for part of a day so that we could all be together and have a sort of mini family reunion. The farmhouse was cozy, clean and nostalgic with family antiques and mementos. JuJu’s was exactly what we needed!

Rural setting on large pond. Enjoyed a little fishing. Dothan only 8 miles away for shopping and dining. House spacious, comfortable, and clean. Plan to come again. Will tell friends about this place.

Our stay was AMAZING! This cottage is a rare find. Beautiful inside and out. So homey and comfortable, it provided all the comforts of home (minus a washer and dryer). The bed was so comfortable (firm-ish). I cannot express how ABSOLUTELY SPOTLESS this home was. The owner was very easy to communicate with also. My husband was the one to call the place "precious". Thank you Matt for sharing a piece of your family history with us.

We want to thank Matt and his family for hosting. He was great at responding and answering questions during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Juju's Pond house. We traveled to the Dothan area to visit family. Before this trip, we would stay at hotel suite with a mini kitchen. There are three of us, including my teenage son, so the options seemed very limited. Since we had great success with VRBO for trips here in North Carolina, we thought 'why not give it a try,' and searched Alabama before rebooking the same hotel. That almost arbitrary decision resulted in a very pleasant experience for us that will be remembered. I should start by saying that Google Maps, our normal 'Go To,' did get us close to the property, but we had to use the car navigation to finish the trip. Once we successfully located the driveway and drove onto the property, we could see a beautiful pond located between a forested area and otherwise surrounded by fields. The house looked exactly as it did in the photos. It was a real treat. For the first part of our trip the weather limited our time for exploring the property. However, the parts that we did see were well maintained, and the serenity of the location was noteworthy. The little farmhouse that is at the center of the property is a gem. The rustic hard woods and homey details are naturally comfortable and did not feel staged. There was a lot of natural light, and fortunately for us with the weather being a little dreary, well placed powered lighting as well. The Wi-Fi worked well for us. I typically have to travel with some of my work. I had no issues logging on and staying connected. The television streaming services worked perfectly fine as well. There was one queen sized bed and a chair in the living room that folded out into a queen-sized sleeper - both very comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed. We cooked every day and enjoyed it. For a modestly sized property, everything felt very open and accessible. Overall, the home was clean and very comfortable for the three of us. We enjoyed our stay to the point were having the property available for us to lease again would be part of our trip planning for the next visit to Alabama. If you are a couple, or a small family visiting the Dothan area, I highly recommend Juju's Pond house for your stay.

This property was amazing. A beautiful one-bedroom home nestled among acres and acres of woods, hiking trails, and ponds. Quiet, private, and beautiful. This was the perfect refuge from a busy workday in Dothan. Only 15 minutes from downtown Dothan and a little over an hour from Panama City Beach, but so nice to return to at the end of the day.Well equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture. I will definitely be back next year.
