Dog friendly holiday cottage in the Cotswolds with cinema room and superb garden - Landgate House

We loved our stay at Landgate House and think the photos don't do it justice and it's nicer in real life. We had a gorgeous sunny weekend and the views from the dining room / breakfast room are to die for! This was the absolute perfect house for a cross generation family gather with grand parents having a room on the ground floor with no stairs to navigate, the teens upstairs in the loft space and the rest of the family downstairs. We have a fabulous time and contrary to some reviews which made us hesitate when booking, the house was spotless! The only little bit of feedback is maybe about the electric hob that is extremely slow to heat up and cook so morning pancake making was a longer process than usual. Maybe consider upgrading it for the future.

We had a fantastic stay at this incredibly spacious house, which was perfect for a surprise birthday weekend for my partner and her friends. The house is huge, with plenty of room in every bedroom, making it ideal for a group. Everything was spotlessly clean and very well equipped, so we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.We especially loved the cosy fire in the lounge and the wonderfully powerful showers — both were real highlights after a day out exploring.The garden is also really impressive. Although we didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked due to the lack of sunshine, it was still beautiful to look out over and clearly a lovely space in better weather.Blockley itself is a truly beautiful village and feels much more peaceful than some of the busier Cotswolds spots that attract large crowds. It’s well served locally, and we had a great dinner one evening at the Great Western pub. There are also fantastic running routes and walks right from the village, with some stunning countryside nearby.We would absolutely recommend staying here and would happily come back again.

Overall the house had everything we needed and host was very responsive to our queries. Issues we raised were radiator in one bedroom not working, the washing machine when turned on fused the electrics and a blood stain on one of the duvet covers. The house is in a lovely village.

The house was a lovely size and layout in a stunning area. The views were stunning with a fantastic back garden. The beds were very comfortable . Our main criticism is that it was unclean… bins, oven especially but overall a sense it had not been cleaned properly. One of the single beds bedding … the pillowcase especially was dirty. There were things broken… blinds that didn’t go up, the bin lids were broken. It was a real shame because it was a great space. However, we did have a great weekend as a family for my mums 80th.
