Questa casa vacanze si trova a Hobart, in Penna, e vanta una posizione strategica sulla spiaggia. Richmond Bridge e Old Richmond Courthouse sono due dei più importanti punti di riferimento della zona. Per un po' di sano shopping, invece, è d'obbligo una tappa a Salamanca Market e Eastlands Shopping Centre. Viaggi con dei bambini? Che ne dici di fare tappa a Sorell Fruit Farm e Amaze Richmond? Con proposte divertenti come kayak e pesca nelle vicinanze, annoiarsi in acqua è impossibile.

Of our 12 nights and 7 properties this was our favourite. Everything from the beauty of the location (very private and secluded yet 10 mins from town) to the gorgeous design and comfort of the home to the amazing artwork on the walls to the fireplace being ready to just through a match in was delightful. This was only 2 nights but we all wished it was more. Next time it'll be a base for a much longer stay. Thank you so much

Wow, Oyster House is just incredible. The photos are exactly what you got. Extremely comfortable, has everything you need. We were planning on going into Hobart for dinner but decided to stay to enjoy the views and the serenity. Nigel was very accommodating, thank you. Loved your artwork.

I don't believe we have stayed in a more relaxing property. It is spacious (the master bedroom & en-suite are probably the largest we have experienced, the king bed comfortable & most welcome), is well appointed with relaxing & clean furniture & has an extremely well-equipped kitchen for those wanting to prepare meals (along with a vast array of cookbooks, spices & condiments).The view overlooking Barilla Bay is definitely the icing. If we found one thing disappointing, it was that there is but one armchair in which to sit close to the panoramic windows & easily image you are sailing across the waters.Yes, it is 30 min to Hobart central for restaurants, but with Barilla Bay oysters, prawns & scallops close by, why would you dine out?Would we stay again? Most definitely.

The Oysterhouse is one of the most beautiful, relaxing places I have ever stayed in. The house's spaciousness, airiness, and 2 full bathrooms/3 bedrooms were ideal for 3 friends...the house has enough space and privacy to accommodate a few more. Situated right on a peaceful bay in Penna, it is a private, restful haven to sit and unwind, while also conveniently close to everything we wanted to do (i.e. Hobart, the airport [no noise], fun small towns, wineries, distilleries, great food, the peninsula, hiking, etc). Nigel is a wonderful host who has thought of everything in terms of comfort including a lovely welcome bottle of wine, all natural bath products, and the ability to enjoy/learn about his art. The house has books galore about the area, and games too. Communicating with Nigel was a breeze, both before and during our stay. He is incredibly responsive and provided clear directions for finding and accessing the house. We slept well given the supreme comfort of the beds, and the silence of the place (and the sound of the water). The kitchen has everything one would want/need for coffee and meal-making. We highly recommend Oysterhouse for a short or long vacation to the area, and would happily stay here again and again!

This is the most beautiful home in the most beautiful setting imaginable. It is absolutely sublime. Secluded on a point of land extending into the bay with views of the sea and the mountains through its floor-to-ceiling windows that extend the length of the house, this home was designed and furnished by owners of exquisite taste. Nigel could not have been more gracious in his communications or more generous in introducing guests to the many secrets that make a stay here so special—from invitations to take large bean bag chairs onto the deck on sunny days to instructions about how to use the inviting wood burning stove to add warmth to the beautifully appointed living room on rainy days. And as if all of this weren’t enough, the home is itself an art gallery with extraordinary works that invite contemplation and extended conversations. We couldn’t have been luckier than to have had the opportunity to stay in the magnificent oyster house!

Un endroit paradisiaque rien de moins!Une vue magnifique, tranquillité absolue, côtoyer cette nature incluant les Kangourous, oiseaux ce fut un moment inoubliable. La maison est magnifiquement meublée et inclut tout les électroménagers, ustensiles et plus encore. Les toiles du propriétaire sont très belles.Près de Hobart et Sorell, rien qui ne puis satisfaire les plus difficiles.

Location: close to airport and Coal Valley for wine tasting but not the most convenient if you plan to spend a lot of time in Hobart itself. House: Modern, nicely furnished and updated kitchen. Amazing water views through the floor to ceiling windows, we didn't get to sit outside though as it was on the windy / cold side while we were there (mid April) A few items to note: - given the location, there is fair bit of "wildlife" aka insects that get in if you leave any windows or doors so just be aware. - wifi is relatively slow and we couldn't get all our devices to connect, not a big deal for us but FYI in case you are planning to stream a ton of media or do work Zoom calls, probably not the best for that. Also make sure to get the most updated login/password for the host beforehand as the info published via VRBO and on the pamphlet at the house was incorrect. - The house is a ways down a narrow dirt road that may be difficult if folks don't like driving in the dark at night. Wasn't easy to find at first. Lots of animals around so take it slow for sure.

The property is well equipped,clean and comfortable. Views are amazing and it it secluded and quiet. The owner has some fabulous art work on display which makes it more like a gallery. The only negative for our stay was some friendly wasps who decided to keep coming inside. This property is worth making sure you save time to just be there and enjoy “slowing down”. Highly recommend.

This was our second stay at the Oysterhouse and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. The location is spectacular and perfectly balances a peaceful retreat with convenience. The cleanliness of the property is top tier and it is equipped to a point that it feels like a home away from home. The property owners are extremely responsive and we didn’t experience a single issue. Thank you for more wonderful memories, we will be back.

This was our honeymoon and it could not have been more perfect! I would say that this was one of the best accommodations of this kind we have ever stayed at. Private, clean , everything we could possibly need and more! Nigel was communicative, non intrusive but friendly (not to mention an incredibly talented artist). My husband even managed to catch (& release) 16 fish one day! The view from the bed and every other room is magical! Close to Hobart (by car) and all it has to offer. Would seriously consider this for an annual pilgrimage. Thank you so much Nigel & Denise x

Gorgeous spot just outside Hobart, with open views to the estuary, and wonderfully quiet (no neighbors). Artwork in the home by the owner done in ash are both striking and thought-provoking. Tough to say goodbye!

This is a lovely property, spacious and with a fabulous view. The kitchen was easy to use (once we'd figured out where the switch for the oven was!) and the living / sleeping spaces were comfortable. Directions and check-in were easy. The welcome bottle of bubbly was a great touch. It was windy so we we couldn't make full use of the outside seating area but that looked tremendous. The only negative was the low level of connectivity to WiFi - this made it frustrating to be unable to contact friends and family, confirm ongoing travel plans, etc. A small but niggling detail. Overall, a lovely place to stay.

Nigel is a wonderful host who has thought of everything in terms of comfort including a lovely welcome bottle of wine, all natural bath products, and the ability to enjoy/learn about his art. The house has books galore about the area, and games too. Communicating with Nigel was a breeze, both before and during our stay. He is incredibly responsive and provided clear directions for finding and accessing the house. We slept well given the supreme comfort of the beds, and the silence of the place (and the sound of the water). The kitchen has everything one would want/need for coffee and meal-making. We highly recommend Oysterhouse for a short or long vacation to the area, and would happily stay here again and again!

Situated right on a peaceful bay in Penna, it is a private, restful haven to sit and unwind, while also conveniently close to everything we wanted to do (i.e. Hobart, the airport [no noise], fun small towns, wineries, distilleries, great food, the peninsula, hiking, etc). Secluded on a point of land extending into the bay with views of the sea and the mountains through its floor-to-ceiling windows that extend the length of the house, this home was designed and furnished by owners of exquisite taste. The property and location are simply stunning. Fantastic place to sit back and enjoy the peace and serenity, with amazing views all day long. Amenities met everyone’s needs, with timely communication from the hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This was our second stay at the Oysterhouse and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. The location is spectacular and perfectly balances a peaceful retreat with convenience. The cleanliness of the property is top tier and it is equipped to a point that it feels like a home away from home. The property owners are extremely responsive and we didn’t experience a single issue. Thank you for more wonderful memories, we will be back.

Wow, Oyster House is just incredible. The photos are exactly what you got. Extremely comfortable, has everything you need. We were planning on going into Hobart for dinner but decided to stay to enjoy the views and the serenity. Nigel was very accommodating, thank you. Loved your artwork.

This is a lovely property, spacious and with a fabulous view. The kitchen was easy to use (once we'd figured out where the switch for the oven was!) and the living / sleeping spaces were comfortable. Directions and check-in were easy. The welcome bottle of bubbly was a great touch. It was windy so we we couldn't make full use of the outside seating area but that looked tremendous. The only negative was the low level of connectivity to WiFi - this made it frustrating to be unable to contact friends and family, confirm ongoing travel plans, etc. A small but niggling detail. Overall, a lovely place to stay.

A wonderful holiday experience in every respect. The property is breathtaking in its design, location and attention to detail. Top quality furnishings, appliances and beautiful artwork create an ambiance of luxury and refinement while still having a relaxed, comfortable feel. Watching the landscape changing with the weather, different each hour and each day, from the comfort of this beautiful home located half an hour from Hobart but right on the shores of Penna Bay made for such a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. Close to Coal River Valley and Tasman Peninsula, this made it easy for us to explore these areas with day trips and still close enough to the city for a waterfront restaurant meal. Hosts were friendly and couldn't do enough to help. We will stay again.

The moment we drove through the old railway cut out between the rocks we felt relaxed. The view from the living area and main bedroom had us feeling like we were floating on the water. The home is warm, welcoming and with every convenience we could’ve asked for. Location ideal and proximity to Hobart makes it feel remote yet so close to amenities in need. A lovely home and stay.

We had a week at the Oysterhouse. Beautiful location, words cant describe how scenic this place is. We sat on the deck and saw dolphins and seals. Walking around there were lots of echidnas, wallabies and paddymelons. Beautiful spotted pardalotes flying around. Easy drive to Hobart, Richmond and Port Arthur. Was a perfect stay and just want to thank Nigel for letting us stay in this very special house.

Gorgeous spot just outside Hobart, with open views to the estuary, and wonderfully quiet (no neighbors). Artwork in the home by the owner done in ash are both striking and thought-provoking. Tough to say goodbye!

Un endroit paradisiaque rien de moins!Une vue magnifique, tranquillité absolue, côtoyer cette nature incluant les Kangourous, oiseaux ce fut un moment inoubliable. La maison est magnifiquement meublée et inclut tout les électroménagers, ustensiles et plus encore. Les toiles du propriétaire sont très belles.Près de Hobart et Sorell, rien qui ne puis satisfaire les plus difficiles.

From the moment we arrived at this amazing house You are taken back with the amazing view. The house is stocked so so well , well above average and we loved all the zero branded products , it shows how much Nigel is committed to the environment . On a side note the artwork is a special touch as its must beautiful. My favourite thing was probably having a bath with the doors open listening to the waves. This place is a 10 out of 10 for me..

Location: close to airport and Coal Valley for wine tasting but not the most convenient if you plan to spend a lot of time in Hobart itself. House: Modern, nicely furnished and updated kitchen. Amazing water views through the floor to ceiling windows, we didn't get to sit outside though as it was on the windy / cold side while we were there (mid April) A few items to note: - given the location, there is fair bit of "wildlife" aka insects that get in if you leave any windows or doors so just be aware. - wifi is relatively slow and we couldn't get all our devices to connect, not a big deal for us but FYI in case you are planning to stream a ton of media or do work Zoom calls, probably not the best for that. Also make sure to get the most updated login/password for the host beforehand as the info published via VRBO and on the pamphlet at the house was incorrect. - The house is a ways down a narrow dirt road that may be difficult if folks don't like driving in the dark at night. Wasn't easy to find at first. Lots of animals around so take it slow for sure.

I don't believe we have stayed in a more relaxing property. It is spacious (the master bedroom & en-suite are probably the largest we have experienced, the king bed comfortable & most welcome), is well appointed with relaxing & clean furniture & has an extremely well-equipped kitchen for those wanting to prepare meals (along with a vast array of cookbooks, spices & condiments).The view overlooking Barilla Bay is definitely the icing. If we found one thing disappointing, it was that there is but one armchair in which to sit close to the panoramic windows & easily image you are sailing across the waters.Yes, it is 30 min to Hobart central for restaurants, but with Barilla Bay oysters, prawns & scallops close by, why would you dine out?Would we stay again? Most definitely.

The Oysterhouse is one of the most beautiful, relaxing places I have ever stayed in. The house's spaciousness, airiness, and 2 full bathrooms/3 bedrooms were ideal for 3 friends...the house has enough space and privacy to accommodate a few more. Situated right on a peaceful bay in Penna, it is a private, restful haven to sit and unwind, while also conveniently close to everything we wanted to do (i.e. Hobart, the airport [no noise], fun small towns, wineries, distilleries, great food, the peninsula, hiking, etc). Nigel is a wonderful host who has thought of everything in terms of comfort including a lovely welcome bottle of wine, all natural bath products, and the ability to enjoy/learn about his art. The house has books galore about the area, and games too. Communicating with Nigel was a breeze, both before and during our stay. He is incredibly responsive and provided clear directions for finding and accessing the house. We slept well given the supreme comfort of the beds, and the silence of the place (and the sound of the water). The kitchen has everything one would want/need for coffee and meal-making. We highly recommend Oysterhouse for a short or long vacation to the area, and would happily stay here again and again!

Un endroit paradisiaque rien de moins!Une vue magnifique, tranquillité absolue, côtoyer cette nature incluant les Kangourous, oiseaux ce fut un moment inoubliable. La maison est magnifiquement meublée et inclut tout les électroménagers, ustensiles et plus encore. Les toiles du propriétaire sont très belles.Près de Hobart et Sorell, rien qui ne puis satisfaire les plus difficiles.

This house was just as other guests stated, everything advertised is what you get.The views were amazing. Everything from beds to linen and even the little things bathroom supplies and kitchen supplies.We managed to catch a great feed of flathead, 10 caught, 8 eaten.100% recommend this house.Nigel, thanks for allowing us to stay. Although we had a small hiccup, you replied immediately and acted immediately. We hope to return soon. I’m so missing my view.

Host was very responsive to enquiries. Accommodate very clean and tidy. Interior decor - paintings, very soothing. Lovely and private and quiet. Thanks for the champagne, it was a wonderful surprise. We will definitely recommend to our friends and will be returning.
