Sundance Massive Cabin - Huge hot tub, Fireplaces in each room, acres of privacy

The house itself was absolutely gorgeous as was the area where it is situated. One of the reasons that I settled on this property, aside from the size and location was because of the huge hot tub that I knew my family would love. I had inquired a couple of times before our arrival to ensure that the water was hot when we arrived, but on May 22nd when we did arrive, I was confronted with a huge mess of rubble close to where the hot tub room was situated. I called and was informed that the tub was broken and in-work, but we could access a much smaller hot tub in the small house next door, which would only hold 2 or 3 people at best. They had texted me that day but I hadn’t seen it as I was enroute to the house.The house was not as clean as I would expect. There were stains in the carpets on the stairs and bedrooms, as well as the kitchen chairs. The glass globes on all the lights needed a good cleaning, as some even had multiple dead insects inside. All the windows also could have used a cleaning. Many areas needed a good dusting, and the cute metal rack over the kitchen stove was covered in grease and dust. One of the outside grills was too covered in burned leftovers to be used. The kid’s playhouse was too dirty for them to use. Several areas in the house had burned out light bulbs including some bathrooms, so doors could not be shut. TV in the master bedroom had no remote. For the price, I expected a much cleaner place.

We hosted a 20-person leadership summit at this property. The location itself is absolutely gorgeous and created a great setting for our time together. However, given the price point, the cabin did not meet expectations in several important areas.It felt as though the property hadn’t been checked thoroughly prior to our arrival. We experienced a water leak coming through a light fixture near the entrance to the master bedroom, and there were a significant number of ladybugs in multiple rooms. Additionally, the downstairs lights would periodically shut off. We attempted to reset them using the master switch without success, and then all the lights randomly turned back on at 2:00am.Communication around check-in was also stressful. We did not receive the door code or access instructions until about five minutes before arrival, when the property manager called directly.The hot tub was another disappointment. We had to fill it ourselves with a hose and weren’t able to use it until two days into our four-night stay, which largely defeated the purpose.Overall, the setting is beautiful and has strong potential, but for the amount paid, we expected better maintenance, preparation, and communication. With more attention to upkeep and guest readiness, this could be a truly outstanding stay.

We had a friends and family reunion and the cabin was perfect! There was enough room for everyone and the kitchen was well equipped. The kids loved playing in the house and the train track was a big hit!

Great experience

We rented over the New Years and found that we had plenty of room for our group of 35. The amenities were great. The location was beautiful. Our only complaint was that the previous renter was late leaving, making the cleanup and prep for our stay as not as good as it could have been. The owner/agent tried to help, but they were rushed. However, our overall experience was wonderful and we would use it again.
