This was in an amazing location. We had such a fun stay and walked to everything. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Very cozy and warm home. They even had a Christmas Tree up!

Very spacious house, perfect location. Digital entry system worked very smoothly. Would have appreciated access to additional blankets for guests who need extra warmth while sleeping. Had to find towels in laundry room—would have been nice to have them in bathrooms or bedrooms. Enjoyed morning coffee on the back patio!

Great location! Patio is great for BBQ and enjoying a glass of wine. We loved our stay. We had a great time here, and this home was just perfect. It's walking distance to downtown with it's restaurants, pubs and shops, and an equally short distance to the lakefront park, as well as another mid-town park. We really enjoyed our mornings sitting on the porch drinking coffee. The beds themselves were very comfortable. We'd definitely recommend this place to friends. Thank you very much our host Rigo.

Check in was easy and the location was perfect.Sadly our high Tea reservation was cancelled because of a power outage but we were able to get into the Irish Pub across the street for food and music trivia. The beds were comfy and we slept well. We loved the rain shower head and the soap and shampoo from One Earth. We weren’t able to get the TV to work . Maybe the instructions need to be clarified but no matter, we were too busy walking around town, checking out the shops and restaurants. We had a great time and will certainly consider staying here again! Thank you!

The Meritage House is hands down one of the most fantastic rentals available in Niagara on the Lake area. We were absolutely thrilled with the location and proximity to everything we wanted to see and explore. The house is well appointed and was stocked with excellent kitchen ware and each bathroom was fully outfitted with towels, soaps, and shampoo - a travelers’ dream. The historic charm and decoration of the house is a reason all in itself to stay. We enjoyed pursuing the lovely architectural details and browsing all of the artwork and photographs that adorned the walls. The high ceilings made it feel like a grand manor house. The backyard is truly a delight. A quiet place for reading or a charming place for an outdoor meal. We found several spots to gather, relax, and chat with our girls group. The bedrooms were lovely with comfortable linens and pillows. The host was kind and responsive. But really - the best part is that the house is truly walking distance to everything NOTL has to offer: the spas, the restaurants, the theatre - you name it! Our group loved the Spa at Q, gelato at Il Gelato di Carlotta, Thai food at Niagara’s Finest Thai, Greek food at Gyros on the Lake, and more. It’s all right there for the taking. If you’re thinking about booking this house: do it. You won’t be disappointed.

This place was perfect for my sisters and I to spend a few days together. Bathroom locations were a little inconvenient so I wouldn't recommend for larger groups. Property manager was very accommodating. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the back yard because of the heat, but it would have been great in nice weather. One suggestion would be that having some Kleenex available would have been nice.
This place was perfect for my sisters and I to spend a few days together. Bathroom locations were a little inconvenient so I wouldn't recommend for larger groups. Beautiful House-the high ceilings in this property make for a spectacular relaxing and eating area. Perfect location-cannot get any closer to the Main Street-so much to do in the area-we went for wine tasting.Would love to return in the summer to enjoy the beautiful outdoor area. Extremely comfortable beds -and sofas-wish we were able to stay longer-truly a home away from home-everything you could possibly need was in this property.Book the property now before it is too late. Niagara-on-the-Lake is charming at Christmas time.

Lockbox froze up.. difficult time getting key out. Move microwave… bad location. Have to get on your knees and back to use. We way over 60. Kleenex would be good. Would love to come again.

We all enjoyed the property especially its proximity to everything in NOTL It’s very clean and comfortable. Outdoor areas are a great add on We were disappointed in the lack of some amenities such as hand towels, Saran Wrap and aluminum foil, basters and tongs since we did eat in on a couple of occasions. We also had to buy ground coffee. Better instructions/labelling of the downstairs lighting and tv would have been helpful. For the cost, these things should have been available.

My sister and I promised my mother a night away for Mother’s Day which happened to coincide with daughter’s day. The house was lovely. It’s a bit quirky because it’s an older home but I love quirky. It was very clean and well maintained. The bedrooms were comfortable and so was the furniture. I’m not sure if the crown molding in the living room was dirty or if it was done to look antique but the effect is very odd. The location could not have been more perfect though. Thank you for a lovely visit!

We were not given the code to check into the house for nearly one hour past the published check in time! After several messages to the property manager the code was sent. Not all lights in the kitchen worked. The repair person never fixed it during our time there in spite of the property mgr’s promise. Directions for the tv were poor. Otherwise the house fit our needs and was delightful. It was in a great location.

Loved this house and stay! Gorgeous home, with everything we needed. Beds were comfy, plenty of pillows and good water pressure in the showers. Didn’t spend a lot of time in the house, because we explored the adorable town and downtown Niagara Falls. The town is so cute! If you’re early risers like us, bring your own coffee-the town is slow to start in the morning (cute coffee shop across the street opens at 8). Walkable to dinner, ice cream, shops and Lake Ontario. Would definitely recommend!!!

This house is beautiful, and the location can't be beat! The beds had nice, firm mattresses (important for us), the kitchen was well stocked, and the outdoor space was very nice. Everything was super clean. Future guests should know that there is one bathroom upstairs for the three bedrooms. The other bath with shower is downstairs off the entrance hall; in fact, at first I thought this was just a half bath until I saw the shower behind the door. My husband and I and our guest ended up sharing the upstairs bathroom for showering and just used the downstairs one as a powder room. We would definitely stay here again!
This house is beautiful, and the location can't be beat! The beds had nice, firm mattresses (important for us), the kitchen was well stocked, and the outdoor space was very nice. Everything was super clean. Future guests should know that there is one bathroom upstairs for the three bedrooms. The other bath with shower is downstairs off the entrance hall; in fact, at first I thought this was just a half bath until I saw the shower behind the door. My husband and I and our guest ended up sharing the upstairs bathroom for showering and just used the downstairs one as a powder room. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a little trouble reaching our host, but in the end he got us the check in info 1 hour before we were to get in. So it all worked out. The property is teriffic. Beds were comfy, showers were good even with using two at the same time. Decorated nicely. I would stay again.

We were not given the code to check into the house for nearly one hour past the published check in time! After several messages to the property manager the code was sent. Not all lights in the kitchen worked. The repair person never fixed it during our time there in spite of the property mgr’s promise. Directions for the tv were poor. Otherwise the house fit our needs and was delightful. It was in a great location.

Not impressed with the check in process. We were sent instructions….which turned out to be the wrong ones. Attempts to contact the given numbers were not straightforward. The second of two numbers responded after about 45 minutes…but had to call us back while they found the correct info. These finally got us into the house over an hour after arriving. The owner responded about 2 hours later after phone and text message were left……somewhat apologetic and indicating the instructions were an oversight. The front steps had not been cleared of ice and snow from the overnight fall. The house is as described, clean, tidy and properly equipped. Location is very convenient to everything in Niagara on the Lake.

The host provided instructions for check-in very last minute. We could have made other driving arrangements if we would have heard back from the host at least a day prior to our stay. We have phoned in 3 days prior to ask about parking arrangements etc. We only heard back from the host two hours before check-in. Further, we inquired about garbage before our check-out as well but the host did not get back to us until a few hours after we have already left the premise. While we can understand the host may be in traffic or unavailable, we would still appreciate more prompt responses from management. We would also recommend providing Kleenex in the house, a non slip mat for the bathtub, and the welcome note/instruction may need some updates since lockbox info seems obsolete and typo regarding placing towels. There was also a funk around the front porch. It smelled like doggie waste was left in bushes. Thank you.

Check in was easy and the location was perfect.Sadly our high Tea reservation was cancelled because of a power outage but we were able to get into the Irish Pub across the street for food and music trivia. The beds were comfy and we slept well. We loved the rain shower head and the soap and shampoo from One Earth. We weren’t able to get the TV to work . Maybe the instructions need to be clarified but no matter, we were too busy walking around town, checking out the shops and restaurants. We had a great time and will certainly consider staying here again! Thank you!

Location outstanding; cannot beat it. Great host communication (letting us know coffee deets in advance so helpful for my coffee obsessed spouse!). Well stocked. Strong water pressure. All around very happy!

Lockbox froze up.. difficult time getting key out. Move microwave… bad location. Have to get on your knees and back to use. We way over 60. Kleenex would be good. Would love to come again.

LOVED staying at the Meritage House -- the property was beautiful, well kept and clean, the beds were comrotable, kitchen fully equipped, easy check in process, and tons of space. The Meritage was beautiful - love the elegant cottage feel -- and the main street with all of the quaint shops, restaurants, and pubs was just steps from our front porch. Communication with the host, Rigo, was great - easy, timely and friendly. We look forward to our next stay!

This was in an amazing location. We had such a fun stay and walked to everything. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Very cozy and warm home. They even had a Christmas Tree up!

Excellent property! Exactly as advertised. Extremely clean, beautifully decorated and maintained. Amazing location within walking distance to all major sites, restaurants, shops and theatres. A lovely place to stay in Niagara on the Lake!

Great location! Patio is great for BBQ and enjoying a glass of wine. We loved our stay. We had a great time here, and this home was just perfect. It's walking distance to downtown with it's restaurants, pubs and shops, and an equally short distance to the lakefront park, as well as another mid-town park. We really enjoyed our mornings sitting on the porch drinking coffee. The beds themselves were very comfortable. We'd definitely recommend this place to friends. Thank you very much our host Rigo.

Everything was lovely about the house- the location, the ambiance, the experience! The house was beautiful and had such a homey vibe to it. The living room was spectacular! The rooms were nice and I loved that we were in the heart of Old Town Niagara on the Lake! Will definitely be back!

Perfect location in NOTL for a short visit. The listing did not appear to address parking, so on the day of our arrival we sent a text to host on listing asking about where to park, but received no response. When we arrived, the kitchen had water all over the floor due to an apparent water leak behind the refrigerator. Texted and tried to call host on listing, but no response. Found another host’s name and number in a binder in the kitchen - called her and she was very responsive and had the leak fixed right away. The fix meant that we had no ice in the ice maker, however. Also, when we arrived, a burner on the stove top was on medium heat (had a kettle sitting on top of it). Luckily we saw a light on the stove before someone was burned or the kettle was damaged). We had a bumpy start to our short 2 night stay. Accommodations were otherwise lovely. May sound picky, but we would have liked to have seen soap in the showers and we missed not having tissues. Host offered a 100 credit, which was a nice gesture. For such a short stay and at the price point of this unit, it’s not about the money, it’s about no hassle convenience and attention to every detail.

Perfect location, you park the vehicle and walk everywhere. Friends visited and we enjoyed cocktails on the patio and then dinner at the Prince George hotel just around the corner. Recommend this great comfortable house without hesitation. Thank you

The house is even more beautiful than in the pictures. The location is close to the downtown area so we didn’t need to drive anywhere. The outside seating areas are perfect for entertaining. The kitchen is fully equipped. The house is very clean. I would recommend Meritage House for a great getaway!!
