Super place! The bathrooms are shared but even though the hotel was fully booked, it never felt crowded, busy or dirty. It was very quiet and clean. Everybody was very respectful and nice. The breakfast was outstanding and generous with a great variety of options. We would stay here again!

Close to downtown, but not in downtown. Walk across the street and cut next to church and you are in downtown. Bonus points for coffee machine in kitchen and free street parking.

At the reception the lady was super helpful. The rooms are clean. The proximity to the falls is a bonus. Only if they had a microwave in the hotel. It forces budget travellers to eat at the restaurant.

We had an excellent time in this charming B&B during our stay of 7 nights. Mostly it's because of their hospitality, friendliness and amazing breakfast. I'm not a big fan of sharing bathrooms but happily give 5 stars to this B&B. Thank you Inga, the owner's sister, for looking after us so we'll. We had read some bad reviews but it was about the owner before, the ownership has changed since and the currently run by lovely people. The lounge we used had a big TV, microwave, kettle, fridge, tea&coffee and plates&cutleries for us to use, very kind. Guests are asked to take shoes off but they have slippers for us. We saw northern lights 4 nights in a row on the decking area, didn't have to go anywhere else.

We loved our stay at Bitra B&B! The check in was easy, the rooms were clean and it was fun meeting some other travelers in the lounge. The Breakfast was fantastic! We will definitely stay again go we have the opportunity!

We had a lovely two-night stay here at the end of our trip. The atmosphere is peaceful and spa-like from the moment you walk in, with soft music playing and a request to remove your shoes at the entrance — a nice touch that adds to the calm vibe. The beds are comfortable, the towels soft, and the breakfast delicious. The only downside was the drip coffee, which was honestly the worst I’ve ever had — but thankfully, there’s also a coffee machine available, which made up for it. The shared facilities were well thought out: the ground floor has 5 or 6 showers, while the top floor offers one combined shower/restroom and a separate toilet. One thing we especially appreciated was how warm and cozy the place is — they’re definitely not stingy with the heat, so no need to worry about being cold

Lovely guesthouse with friendly staff and a fab breakfast. We were in room 3 which is not really suitable for 2 guests. One side of the double bed is right up against the sloping ceiling, other rooms looked better suited. Also thousands of midges came into the room, I believe mozzy screens may be put up. Staff knew about this problem in this particular room. However all said, we had a lovely stay and will return next time we are in the area (but not in Room 3!!!)

I do not understand high reviews for this place. The house was built as a low-security women's prison in the 1980s and housed two women when it opened. Later, it was used as juvenile detention. We did not know this prior to staying. That vibe is still there. Rooms are small and old. You feel like you are in a dungeon. Our room was in basement, so I am not sure what are the rooms on the official website as all people were placed in the basement basically. Common room is also very dark and depressing. I would not recommend trying to sleep here. Someone turned on their ice cream truck to be charged overnight on the wall where we slept. Not possible to sleep at all.

Wonderful and kind staff! They had a big spread for breakfast. We stayed in a room with an on suite, and it was wonderful! The small amenities of Q-tips and cotton rounds as well as washcloths! My favorite stay while in Iceland.

Die Unterkunft war außerhalb einer Ortschaft, direkt an der Ringstraße, trotzdem ruhig und abgelegen. Das Zimmer war sehr karg (keine Bilder an der Wand). Alles sehr sauber, fast alles vorhanden (Handtücher, Handwaschseife), aber kein Duschgel. Fernseher auch nicht. Dafür im Flur kostenlos Kaffee und Tee rund um die Uhr. Das Frühstück war gut, aber nicht opulent (wie eigentlich überall in Island): Brotsorten (meist Weißbrot, keine Brötchen), Wurst, Käse, Marmelade, Eier, Müsli, Joghurt, kleingeschnittenes Gemüse und Obst, süße Teilchen. War insgesamt zu hochpreisig für die schlichte Unterkunft.

Die Unterkunft war außerhalb einer Ortschaft, direkt an der Ringstraße, trotzdem ruhig und abgelegen. Das Zimmer war sehr karg (keine Bilder an der Wand). Alles sehr sauber, fast alles vorhanden (Handtücher, Handwaschseife), aber kein Duschgel. Fernseher auch nicht. Dafür im Flur kostenlos Kaffee und Tee rund um die Uhr. Das Frühstück war gut, aber nicht opulent (wie eigentlich überall in Island): Brotsorten (meist Weißbrot, keine Brötchen), Wurst, Käse, Marmelade, Eier, Müsli, Joghurt, kleingeschnittenes Gemüse und Obst, süße Teilchen. War insgesamt zu hochpreisig für die schlichte Unterkunft.

What a lovely place to stay for a few nights! The location was perfect for exploring the south, but more than that, the accommodations were lovely. The space was very clean and homey, with a nice room and lovely common spaces. Breakfast was delicious and the owners worked hard to accommodate my diet. We saw the Northern Lights there! But more than that, the owners were kind and helpful and responsive. We loved our time with them and cannot recommend it enough!

We loved our stay at Bitra B&B! The check in was easy, the rooms were clean and it was fun meeting some other travelers in the lounge. The Breakfast was fantastic! We will definitely stay again go we have the opportunity!

Wonderful and kind staff! They had a big spread for breakfast. We stayed in a room with an on suite, and it was wonderful! The small amenities of Q-tips and cotton rounds as well as washcloths! My favorite stay while in Iceland.

It's a Bed and Breakfast. Don't expect frills. Owner has a 'no shoes' policy through out the house but does provide slides in many sizes. There is a sweet dog in the house. Owner said dog is restricted to her unit, but I encountered the dog 3 times. So not sure this is always true. One towel per person. Cold buffet breakfast. Room was well sized. We experienced confusion as to our room choice, which the owner quickly corrected. We had a room with large private bath. Checked out the shared toilet/shower area and was impressed by privacy of multiple showers and toilets. Family room with couches, coffee, water glasses, and small shared fridge. No spa/hot tub.

My favorite spot so far doing the Ring Road across Iceland and spending time on different hostels and guesthouses. First off I really want to thank you (the family) for this very welcoming experience as I felt we were invited to your home. It was cozy as hell, you were really awesome, doggo received us on arrival, and the spot itself with horses and fields around us was a pinnacle stay. I wished we stayed here more nights during our stay in the area and south of Iceland. I really think you have a special place here, and I really wish you guys the best going forward and that you remain safe among the tourism craze. It's just that feeling were I felt so happy about everything and worried more about your long term success and health (!). Room was spacious enough for the two of us, the area was quiet and calm, cozy interior, toilets and showers needed for the tenants, and breakfast was included in our stay which was also great. Thank you for raising the bar, you rock!
