Had a great week at this house. Beautiful location and quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed the hot tub, upstairs game room and relaxing out back by the river. The September weather was perfect and communication with the host, Sarah, was top notch.Highly recommend this property.

We were in Maple Valley for a wedding and this was such a fun spot. We took advantage of swimming and tubing down the river and the hot tub! There were 2 rooms with a bed each (top floor and bottom floor) and a middle floor with a 3rd sleeping area that had a push down futon and extra bedding and pillows. Cool place to stay! Definitely recommend.

Sara is a 1st rate owner! Communicated well and was very accommodating. The home is gorgeous, beautiful decor, great hottub, right on the river. They have everything you could need in the house. Very quiet (in Nov) and peaceful. Would go back anytime, would love to see it in the summer!!

If you like to get away from the hustle of city dwelling and enjoy nature with all the amenities, this is your place! While neighbors are close in proximity, it is a quiet and peaceful setting. The house is well appointed and cozy. An open back deck with a grill, dining area and hot tub to enjoy the sounds of the river and wildlife. There are chairs in the back yard to enjoy the sights of the river. Mt. Rainier is just a 50 - 60 minute drive, which is also worth exploring. Sarah is very an exception host and willing in going above and beyond to make your stay welcoming and relaxing.

Our family of 3 (with 4-year-old son) enjoyed every second we spent at The River House! The Bird’s Nest was the most popular sleeping nook, the hot tub soothed our road-weary bodies, the river was serene and the neighborhood was quiet and the location perfect for our getaway. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking implements, the beds were comfy, the string lights on the back patio provided lovely ambiance, and I’m sure if we’d have been able to make use of the fire pit next to the river it would have been fun making s’mores. Our kiddo had a blast casting his fishing pole into the river (as did I), and he thoroughly enjoyed throwing rocks into the deeper parts. During an early morning, we were witness to a flock of Canadian Geese with their goslings floating down the current, headed by a single grey duck. The Husband and I are already reviewing our calendars to see when we can do the 2,000 miles to stay again, just us. Meeting Sarah right as we were heading back home was also a treat, as we were able to tell her in person how lovely her home was and how much we enjoyed our too-short time there. We absolutely cannot wait to return!

Lovely space to get away from it all. Fully equipped kitchen so it was easy to make meals. Easy parking, w&d, lots of towels. We could hear the river when we walked in. Sarah was lovely. Will stay again!

We absolutely loved this place. The river was so lovely and we really liked the cover over the hot tub for when it rained. Great amenities and really appreciated the snack basket. Make sure to bring a sleep mask though because it is bright upstairs! I would totally book this home again.

This place was the perfect stay for our long weekend getaway. It was close to where we wanted to explore, while still being serene and secluded as we came back to unwind. We had booked our days solid with plans, but enjoyed our time there so much we wound up staying in each evening to soak it all in! The place has all of the necessities, along with fun extras like the hot tub, fire pit(s), a plethora of games, etc. Attention to spare items like toiletries, coffee, baggies, laundry and other supplies was also appreciated as we didn’t need to rush to the store for incidentals. The place is clean, comfortable and calming. From the time of booking to checkout (which was a breeze), Sarah was incredibly attentive and communication excellent. We will be back!

So glad we found this amazing property. It was super clean, good communication from Sarah, and the kitchen well stocked. It’s obvious a lot of love and thought went into this property. We fell asleep listening to the river from the crows nest bedroom. The neighborhood is super quiet with wild elk eating dinner at dusk. Hard to imagine it’s super close to a big city.

We just stayed for a few short days but man how we wish we could have stayed longer! It was a difficult decision each day trying to decide if we were going to go into Seattle and explore or just relax at home in the wonderful property. The communication with the property owner was top notch from general communication to specific questions. The house was immaculate and had many comforts of home which we appreciated. If you are reading this review do yourself a favor and stop looking and book this place. You won't regret it!

Such a calm beautiful place on the Cedar River. So well maintained and cozy! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Sarah is such an attentive kind host and I appreciate all her attention to details. Highly recommend.

This was an out of the way gem! You could hear a pin drop during the night. We had our window open. The sound of the river was so relaxing. We even heard elk bugling Even though it’s out of the way place it’s only minutes from major grocery stores, freeways, and restaurants. Host was quick to respond and upbeat. The house is very cute and clean. Appliances and furnishings were very nice. Kitchen stocked well with dishware , condiments , and spices. Bed was very good. We can see how kids would love the upstairs playroom and bedrooms. Staircase steep and tight so bathroom access during the night better to sleep on first floor(it has a bigger bed also). There is no cable so local news isn’t available but there is a big smart tv you can use your accounts to access. I would recommend this home to couples or young families. It’s very charming.

Beautiful little house deep in the woods. Extremely quiet and peaceful but still does have some nice shops/food close by. Loved the crows nest bedroom and of course the hot tub. Don't miss taking a quick dip in the cold river before jumping back in the warm water. Would stay again anytime.

The River House in Maple Valley is a fabulous sanctuary. The home is well-appointed with all of the necessary amenities, and the barbecue was a sweet plus. Beds were cozy and pillows also, which I am particular about. That said, the Cedar River is the gift of this property. Herons, Canada Geese, a Kingfisher, and a Bald Eagle were the large birds spotted along with many songbirds. When you open the windows at night, the river song sings you to sleep. I would love the luxury of a month at this place.

From the second we walked we, we were in love! Everything was perfect! The kitchen was fully stocked with things we didn’t even think we would need, but did. The river front was hands down my favorite part and I enjoyed the peaceful early mornings drinking coffee and listening to the river. We saw deer, hawks, squirrels and rabbits. Sarah is an absolutely wonderful host and cannot wait to stay there again. Thank you Sarah for everything!

In the middle of a hectic time, this wonderful, peaceful place was sheer BLISS to come back to each night. While there, I learned I have breast cancer, and the gentle sound of the river flowing by kept me sane those first few days. Everything we could possibly need was there, which was a huge comfort.

Loved the stay. It was "well stocked" with everything one could need to enjoy their stay. The river and hot tub in the back are automatic "smile generators". The owner was responsive, timely, and caring regarding my needs.

We had such an awesome stay at the Riverhouse. Beautiful setting, private and the house had everything we needed and very clean. Sarah was so communicative and really appreciated her. We definitely will be back.

Great little cabin. We didn’t get to spend a lot of time there as we had multiple plans but the time we did spend at the property was very nice. The host was always in contact.

Lovely space to get away from it all. Fully equipped kitchen so it was easy to make meals. Easy parking, w&d, lots of towels. We could hear the river when we walked in. Sarah was lovely. Will stay again!

From the second we walked we, we were in love! Everything was perfect! The kitchen was fully stocked with things we didn’t even think we would need, but did. The river front was hands down my favorite part and I enjoyed the peaceful early mornings drinking coffee and listening to the river. We saw deer, hawks, squirrels and rabbits. Sarah is an absolutely wonderful host and cannot wait to stay there again. Thank you Sarah for everything!

This place was the perfect stay for our long weekend getaway. It was close to where we wanted to explore, while still being serene and secluded as we came back to unwind. We had booked our days solid with plans, but enjoyed our time there so much we wound up staying in each evening to soak it all in! The place has all of the necessities, along with fun extras like the hot tub, fire pit(s), a plethora of games, etc. Attention to spare items like toiletries, coffee, baggies, laundry and other supplies was also appreciated as we didn’t need to rush to the store for incidentals. The place is clean, comfortable and calming. From the time of booking to checkout (which was a breeze), Sarah was incredibly attentive and communication excellent. We will be back!

This property is located perfectly if you’re looking to explore a good chunk of Washington! In under 2 hours any direction there’s endless things to do! Sarah was a helpful host and we really enjoyed the hot tub and location on the water!

Lovely cottage home with a great location right on the river. My daughter and I enjoyed hiking in the area. Super easy access to freeway, shopping and the SEATAC airport. A highly recommend the River House for a family getaway.

Beautiful little house deep in the woods. Extremely quiet and peaceful but still does have some nice shops/food close by. Loved the crows nest bedroom and of course the hot tub. Don't miss taking a quick dip in the cold river before jumping back in the warm water. Would stay again anytime.

If you like to get away from the hustle of city dwelling and enjoy nature with all the amenities, this is your place! While neighbors are close in proximity, it is a quiet and peaceful setting. The house is well appointed and cozy. An open back deck with a grill, dining area and hot tub to enjoy the sounds of the river and wildlife. There are chairs in the back yard to enjoy the sights of the river. Mt. Rainier is just a 50 - 60 minute drive, which is also worth exploring. Sarah is very an exception host and willing in going above and beyond to make your stay welcoming and relaxing.

This was an out of the way gem! You could hear a pin drop during the night. We had our window open. The sound of the river was so relaxing. We even heard elk bugling Even though it’s out of the way place it’s only minutes from major grocery stores, freeways, and restaurants. Host was quick to respond and upbeat. The house is very cute and clean. Appliances and furnishings were very nice. Kitchen stocked well with dishware , condiments , and spices. Bed was very good. We can see how kids would love the upstairs playroom and bedrooms. Staircase steep and tight so bathroom access during the night better to sleep on first floor(it has a bigger bed also). There is no cable so local news isn’t available but there is a big smart tv you can use your accounts to access. I would recommend this home to couples or young families. It’s very charming.

Sarah was an amazing host! So kind, friendly and communicative! The house itself was so clean and perfect. We loved sitting next to the fire watching the river go by. Such a beautiful and relaxing stay! And the two turkeys walking down the road as a huge plus! I highly recommend and will definitely be back!!

In the middle of a hectic time, this wonderful, peaceful place was sheer BLISS to come back to each night. While there, I learned I have breast cancer, and the gentle sound of the river flowing by kept me sane those first few days. Everything we could possibly need was there, which was a huge comfort.
