This location was perfect for a surprise birthday fishing weekend. The amenities were perfect for us...lake view, lake access, fire pit, and grilling! We'll go kayaking next time. The hosts are the best I've ever experienced. There were birthday treats and decorations waiting for us. What a sweet and unexpected surprise! Frank and Linda were available to answer any questions or facilitate any last minute needs that we had. Thank you for a wonderful trip. We will be back soon!

First things first, the owners of The Second Wind are awesome! Frank and Linda were super welcoming, super friendly, and you can tell they just want their guests to have a good time. They were very accomodating, and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The cabin was clean, well decorated, and the property was awesome! Dock and shoreline access with AWESOME fishing, and if you feel like getting on the water, Frank and Linda have kayaks! Long story short, go stay here! You wont regret it.

What an amazing time we had here at “Second Wind!” Such a beautiful scenery with beautiful, breathtaking sunsets. We really enjoyed sitting out by the fire-pit with plenty of available wood to burn. The host Frank and Linda was very accommodating in every way. Linda made wonderful treats in which we sure enjoyed. So sweet and very good! Had a great time fishing and kayaking even. The bed and fully remote controlled recliners were very comfortable and so relaxing. Looking forward to coming back another time.

We just loved it. My wife and I have been there before. If you just want to relax and overlook the lake or even fish. It's all in the backyard. Cook on the grill, kayak or just lounge in a chair like we did. It's very quiet and peaceful. No tv, just good ole relaxation. Frank and Linda the hosts. We just love them to death. We enjoyed very much talking with them and visiting. Hope to see them again soon. The Shaw's

It was very nice, clean and secluded from the city (which was very much needed). I enjoyed being able to hear the birds, and getting in touch with nature. Taking the kayaks to the lake as the sunset was we setting was a lovely view to just sit and watch. Will be sure to keep this place in mind!

Amazing little gem in East Texas!! We had a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing 5 days here. The cabin was beautiful with the live edge pine and cedar on the walls. The hosts were very welcoming, kind, and thoughtful. They went out of their way to make sure our trip was an enjoyable one and we had everything we needed. The baked treats were delicious. They also made our dogs feel very welcome and surprised them with a lovely treat bag. We read the amenities ahead of time so knew we would need to bring items to grill. The access to the water was so convenient and the kayaks were in great shape. This trip made us really appreciate the things we sometimes take for granted….beautiful sunsets, sound of waves, playing games together, having wonderful conversations, watching the birds, watching our pups swim, and just slowing down! I will definitely recommend this precious, well crafted cabin!! Thank you Frank and Linda.

The cabin and property are beautifully maintained. There are so many thoughtful details throughout: in the cabin, on the front and back porch and deck, even chairs at the waters edge. The hosts are gracious and kind and go out of their way to ensure your visit is pleasant and comfortable. I was welcomed with delicious baked yummies and even a treat bag for my dog. It was above and beyond my expectations, I had the nicest peaceful retreat. Thank you Frank and Linda!

This place was amazing. The hosts were the best part. They were very nice and accommodating the whole week we stayed. As a nice extra touch they had cookies and a cake for us on arrival!!! The house was clean and quaint, right on the lake. We had a wonderful time fishing and sitting on the back porch. A definite must if staying on this lake.

Cabin is very quaint and well maintained with a beautiful view. Everything is clean and as presented in pictures. Frank and Linda are wonderful hosts. She even left us fresh baked cookies, muffins and gift a bag of goodies.

Our quiet restful vacation was just that, “A Second Wind.” We were welcomed by the kindest people on the face of this earth, Frank and Linda. The smiles on their faces when we arrived was as large as our get-a-way smiles were. The cabin was fantastic, beautiful, and extremely clean. My eyes about popped out of my head and my tummy was yelling “oh boy,” there was homemade chocolate chip cookies, banana nut muffins, and baklava. Did I mention all this was made from scratch and love? Frank and Linda are rare jewels straight from heaven. I am 62 years old and have never come home from a trip rested and already wanting to go back. This trip has reminded me of the simple days, the days that mankind has forgotten with all the traffic, hustle and bustle of running around, taking care of people, working, etc. If we could only get back to loving our neighbor and basking in the quietness, stillness, beauty of God’s nature. The wind blowing through the tall, tall trees was absolutely breathtaking. While on the back patio facing such beautiful scenery and gorgeous water; I saw three baby deer’s frolicking through the trees. This trip has engraved the longing of new fresh days with less hustle and more rest and relaxation. The log cabin was gorgeous, and every little detail is built with love from Frank and Linda. And, the view is unbelievable. Also, some of Frank’s own pieces he carves out of wood and are beautiful to buy. Bring cash, if you would like to buy something hand made!

Cute little 1 room 1 bath cabin for 2 that’s pet friendly and on the lake. Everything is as clean as can be, neat & orderly. The owners are extremely friendly, and go above and beyond to make sure you’re completely happy and comfortable. They’re very helpful and communicative. When we arrived we were met at the driveway by Frank who offered to help carry things in. He goes over everything with you and makes sure you understand before he leaves. We were also greeted with muffins, cookies, and treats for our dogs all made by Linda. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thanks again for sharing this cabin with us!! We will definitely be back!

Perfect way to escape the city. Didn’t hear a car for almost 3 days. Tucked away with water access. The bed is too comfortable. Hard to get out of bed. (Good thing) Saw a bald eagle! Muffins were the best I’ve tasted in my life. 10/10

We were warmly welcomed by the owner. We found multiple surprises for us to enjoy. Fresh baked delights, fresh fruit and gift bags were for our taking. Area was very quiet and peaceful. We could’ve fished if we had wanted. Wonderful place to sit back and relax. Don’t expect to watch tv. There isn’t one!

Our quiet restful vacation was just that, “A Second Wind.” We were welcomed by the kindest people on the face of this earth, Frank and Linda. The smiles on their faces when we arrived was as large as our get-a-way smiles were. The cabin was fantastic, beautiful, and extremely clean. My eyes about popped out of my head and my tummy was yelling “oh boy,” there was homemade chocolate chip cookies, banana nut muffins, and baklava. Did I mention all this was made from scratch and love? Frank and Linda are rare jewels straight from heaven. I am 62 years old and have never come home from a trip rested and already wanting to go back. This trip has reminded me of the simple days, the days that mankind has forgotten with all the traffic, hustle and bustle of running around, taking care of people, working, etc. If we could only get back to loving our neighbor and basking in the quietness, stillness, beauty of God’s nature. The wind blowing through the tall, tall trees was absolutely breathtaking. While on the back patio facing such beautiful scenery and gorgeous water; I saw three baby deer’s frolicking through the trees. This trip has engraved the longing of new fresh days with less hustle and more rest and relaxation. The log cabin was gorgeous, and every little detail is built with love from Frank and Linda. And, the view is unbelievable. Also, some of Frank’s own pieces he carves out of wood and are beautiful to buy. Bring cash, if you would like to buy something hand made!

Cute little 1 room 1 bath cabin for 2 that’s pet friendly and on the lake. Everything is as clean as can be, neat & orderly. The owners are extremely friendly, and go above and beyond to make sure you’re completely happy and comfortable. They’re very helpful and communicative. When we arrived we were met at the driveway by Frank who offered to help carry things in. He goes over everything with you and makes sure you understand before he leaves. We were also greeted with muffins, cookies, and treats for our dogs all made by Linda. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thanks again for sharing this cabin with us!! We will definitely be back!

First things first, the owners of The Second Wind are awesome! Frank and Linda were super welcoming, super friendly, and you can tell they just want their guests to have a good time. They were very accomodating, and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The cabin was clean, well decorated, and the property was awesome! Dock and shoreline access with AWESOME fishing, and if you feel like getting on the water, Frank and Linda have kayaks! Long story short, go stay here! You wont regret it.

From the moment we started talking with Frank and Linda about booking, they were so kind, even wanting to provide a treat for our dog if he was with us. As soon as we walked in the door, the peace and serenity of the place greeted us, along wth homemade goodies (we ate them all over the weekend). The view of the lake was breathtaking. We rested a lot, and kayaked. I would recommend taking a couple of travel hammocks because napping under the pines hearing the water gently moving was so refreshing. Frank has beautiful woodworking for sel but more than that, both he and Linda was so sweet to talk with. We will definitely be back.

We just loved it. My wife and I have been there before. If you just want to relax and overlook the lake or even fish. It's all in the backyard. Cook on the grill, kayak or just lounge in a chair like we did. It's very quiet and peaceful. No tv, just good ole relaxation. Frank and Linda the hosts. We just love them to death. Everything about this stay was absolutely amazing! Frank and Linda were extremely nice and made us feel very welcomed. Frank provided us with bait to fish with that helped us catch an abundance of catfish. Linda is fantastic at gardening and baking, we had home baked goodies waiting on us at arrival. We highly recommend staying here if you have the chance and we are already planning our next visit.

Amazing little gem in East Texas!! We had a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing 5 days here. The cabin was beautiful with the live edge pine and cedar on the walls. The hosts were very welcoming, kind, and thoughtful. They went out of their way to make sure our trip was an enjoyable one and we had everything we needed. The baked treats were delicious. They also made our dogs feel very welcome and surprised them with a lovely treat bag. We read the amenities ahead of time so knew we would need to bring items to grill. The access to the water was so convenient and the kayaks were in great shape. This trip made us really appreciate the things we sometimes take for granted….beautiful sunsets, sound of waves, playing games together, having wonderful conversations, watching the birds, watching our pups swim, and just slowing down! I will definitely recommend this precious, well crafted cabin!! Thank you Frank and Linda.

Communication with the property owners was extremely open and fluid. The stay did not turn out as we had planned but that was due to sever inclement weather that caused major power outages etc.. After seeing the property we do intend to book it again.

Frank and Linda were the best hosts. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We were welcomed with tasty freshly baked treats and treat bags for our pups too. The bed was so comfortable and the evening views of the sunset from the patio were beautiful. We will definitely be back. This was a last minute getaway and I’m so glad we found it.

This was our 3rd time to visit Second Wind. Frank and Linda are the sweetest people and make you feel like family. If you want to relax, this is your best bet. The view is the best, anytime of day. If you're ready to get away from it all, slow down and enjoy nature, you won't be disappointed. You never know what kind of goodies Linda is going to bake, but whatever it is, it's delicious!

Very quiet and peaceful area. Was welcomed with some muffins and cookies to start off my visit. Can not beat the red sunsets on the back deck. Breathtaking! Strongly recommend staying here if you need to refresh and rejuvenate your body and mind.

It was very nice, clean and secluded from the city (which was very much needed). I enjoyed being able to hear the birds, and getting in touch with nature. Taking the kayaks to the lake as the sunset was we setting was a lovely view to just sit and watch. Will be sure to keep this place in mind!

This property is great with water front access and is well maintained. Frank and Linda were great host and very personable! They walk you through the unit and Linda made some awesome treats not only for us but for the dogs as well! We will be regular customers after one stay!

All I can say is WOW! Frank and Linda are absolutely great folks and the view from the back porch was beautiful! Linda was so thoughtful and had baked muffins, cookies, and an anniversary package for us! Btw her baking skills are level 10! I very much enjoyed visiting with Frank at our check in. The proposer was PEACEFUL exactly what we were looking for. We will 100% be making a return visit to this gem in east texas.

The cabin is even more adorable in person! Fantastic view from the balcony over the lake. Exceptional hosts, made sure we had everything we needed and more. The bakery treats were beautiful and very tasty! And as an extra, treats for our pup!!

Property was as described and very comfortable for us and our pups. Caught some fish, saw a magnificent sunrise, and the extra bonus was meeting Frank and Linda. They simply made our experience so special from Linda’s surprise homemade treats to Franks contagious laughter. Genuine beautiful people💕. Definitely going back!

Was looking for a quiet lakeside getaway to celebrate the girlfriend’s birthday and this could not have been a more perfect fit. Linda and Frank were incredible hosts, very friendly and sweet. The baked goodies they left us were a nice treat and some of the best we’ve had. We brought our two puppies and Frank made sure to have treats ready for them both too. Cabin was very clean and comfortable. The property’s right on the lake, walkable from the cabin, great for spending a day in the water with the host provided kayaks. Couldn’t recommend this cabin enough. We’re already looking at dates to come back out.

Wonderful caring owners. Loved the views and closeness of the lake. So enjoyed watching and hearing the birds and wildlife. Cabin small but comfortable. Great for a couples getaway. Be sure and visit the city of Jefferson while you’re there. Took the trolley tour and learned so much about this historic town.

Without a doubt the 2nd Wind is the BEST Vrbo we had stayed in. Frank and Linda will make you feel right at home. They live next door and make themselves available for anything. Frank even brought out some of the best tasting brisket I've had. The views from the back porch are beautiful at sunset. The area is quiet and relaxing. Coming from West Texas, it was nice to have some real trees and a beautiful lake to enjoy. Frank and Linda really care about their place and their guests. We had special baked good treats and treats for our dogs waiting for us. Our dogs even enjoyed the wonderful change of scenery.
Without a doubt the 2nd Wind is the BEST Vrbo we had stayed in. Frank and Linda will make you feel right at home. They live next door and make themselves available for anything. Frank even brought out some of the best tasting brisket I've had. The views from the back porch are beautiful at sunset. The area is quiet and relaxing. Coming from West Texas, it was nice to have some real trees and a beautiful lake to enjoy. Frank and Linda really care about their place and their guests. We had special baked good treats and treats for our dogs waiting for us. Our dogs even enjoyed the wonderful change of scenery.

Nice little cozy cabin right by the lake. The hosts were wonderful, very nice people! They even baked muffins and cookies for us! Would definitely stay there again, next time we might be able to bring our pups.

The cabin was cozy and very rustic very clean. The host frank and linda are the best so much hospitality and kindness showered us with baked goodies and more,loved sitting on balcony having coffee and cooking. We will definitely be back
