Such a cute little place. They pulled out all the stops with old books and other antique school items. You can still learn alot here! Comfy beds, fluffy towels, keurig with k cups to wake up and go enjoy the birds and flowers. A perfect experience.

On the "heels" of Hurricane Helene with NO power at home in Western Carolina, we were able to "escape" via a work-around route to Virginia / West Virginia. This was a pre-planned vacation that coincided with the Helene disaster. What a GREAT place to escape TO! A great location to many historic towns & "things to do". The Schoolhouse fit right in with the theme of going back in history. It is clean, well-stocked with all of the necessities, entertainment TV, & sleeping accommodations. The rooster is also a "nice touch"! Can't wait to do it again next year. Thank you, Michael !

This was an awesome place to stay while we explored the Harper’s Ferry area for a few days. The schoolhouse had everything we needed and we loved all the small finishing touches. Highly recommend!

Staying at the schoolhouse was a pure delight. Touches of nostalgia decorated the renovated building. Everything was comfortable, even the Murphy bed. The kitchen was small, but quite adequate. It was well supplied with equipment & utensils.Beverages for the Keurig were varied and tastey. The property was close to Harpers Ferry, Shepherdstown, and Charles Town. We even took in an exhibit on Sunday afternoon in DC. Peaceful & private. withe Kureg

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the historic school house. The classroom-themed decor and vintage touches filled our stay with nostalgic charm. Every detail has been included from the electric fireplace to the chalk boards and desks. We joked that it was fun to sleep in class without getting sent to the principals office. We hope to return some day.

Very nice, charming place. Quiet location even though it was close to major highway. A bit distant from touristy spots, but the charm made up for it. Large bathroom (former principal's office). Small, but serviceable and cute kitchen. Plenty of linens, towels, dishes, etc. Easy check-in and check-out. Staying in a renovated schoolhouse was just a cool thing to do. Glad we stayed here.

My GF and I had a wonderful stay. We are both educators, love history and old buildings so the school and surrounding towns were great for us. This was her surprise Christmas gift. The school is comfortable, clean and very well decorated. The Christmas tree with the old school decorations was a great touch. The kitchen and bathroom are very nice too. Definitely recommend the old Schoolhouse!

The stay was very nice. The school house was clean and well stocked. The community was quiet and close to both nearby national parks which was the reason for our visit. It was a perfect place to retire after a long day of history lessons and great food from the local taverns to a very comfortable bed! We would certainly stay there again.

This property was a charming piece of history, my 10 year old daughter loved it here! It was pictured accurately and very clean. Close to many historical sites and North Virginias wine country. I can’t honestly say anything bad about the School House, it was a wonderful stay, thank you.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this sweet little schoolhouse. The sleeping area/living room was spacious and we were all quite comfortable there. The place was beautifully decorated with a fun schoolhouse theme. The house was clean and inviting. My husband, college-age son, and I were in the area to enjoy historic sites and hiking. For us, the location was excellent since it is just a short drive to many interesting locations.

The place was beautifully decorated with a fun schoolhouse theme. The house was clean and inviting. My husband, college-age son, and I were in the area to enjoy historic sites and hiking. The schoolhouse was like stepping back in time. I loved all the special touches and attention to detail! The place was very clean and comfortable with an excellent mattress! The neighborhood was quiet and the location was perfect for us as we were visiting our son in Charles Town but also wanted some time in Shepherdstown. It was so easy to get in touch with our host if needed. Great stay!!

I went to the Veterans Hospital in Martinsburg West Virginia for one week on business. I stayed in the renovated schoolhouse for four nights. Clean, nostalgic, historic, spacious and convenient are a few of the adjectives I’d use to describe this quaint little haven. Although I was there alone, I see this as a real learning opportunity for families. I contacted the manager only once and he responded immediately! It was a lovely experience.

My husband and I stayed at this great school house when we came to meet our new grandson. The location is so close to everything we needed. The owners mentioned an ice cream shop we should visit (Nutters) in Sharpsburg MD and it is as good and inexpensive as they said a must go to if you like ice cream. Would highly recommend this school house to anyone who is looking for somewhere unique to stay.

The stay was very nice. The school house was clean and well stocked. The community was quiet and close to both nearby national parks which was the reason for our visit. It was a perfect place to retire after a long day of history lessons and great food from the local taverns to a very comfortable bed! We would certainly stay there again.

On the "heels" of Hurricane Helene with NO power at home in Western Carolina, we were able to "escape" via a work-around route to Virginia / West Virginia. This was a pre-planned vacation that coincided with the Helene disaster. What a GREAT place to escape TO! A great location to many historic towns & "things to do". The Schoolhouse fit right in with the theme of going back in history. It is clean, well-stocked with all of the necessities, entertainment TV, & sleeping accommodations. The rooster is also a "nice touch"! Can't wait to do it again next year. Thank you, Michael !

This was an awesome place to stay while we explored the Harper’s Ferry area for a few days. The schoolhouse had everything we needed and we loved all the small finishing touches. Highly recommend!

Staying at the schoolhouse was a pure delight. Touches of nostalgia decorated the renovated building. Everything was comfortable, even the Murphy bed. The kitchen was small, but quite adequate. It was well supplied with equipment & utensils.Beverages for the Keurig were varied and tastey. The property was close to Harpers Ferry, Shepherdstown, and Charles Town. We even took in an exhibit on Sunday afternoon in DC. Peaceful & private. withe Kureg

We very much enjoyed our stay in this sweet little schoolhouse. The sleeping area/living room was spacious and we were all quite comfortable there. The place was beautifully decorated with a fun schoolhouse theme. The house was clean and inviting. My husband, college-age son, and I were in the area to enjoy historic sites and hiking. For us, the location was excellent since it is just a short drive to many interesting locations.

Very nice, charming place. Quiet location even though it was close to major highway. A bit distant from touristy spots, but the charm made up for it. Large bathroom (former principal's office). Small, but serviceable and cute kitchen. Plenty of linens, towels, dishes, etc. Easy check-in and check-out. Staying in a renovated schoolhouse was just a cool thing to do. Glad we stayed here.

After walking all day, each day, we were rewarded at end of each one to come back to this GREAT Historic Schoolhouse to “take the load off our feet” & RELAX !

The schoolhouse was like stepping back in time. I loved all the special touches and attention to detail! The place was very clean and comfortable with an excellent mattress! The neighborhood was quiet and the location was perfect for us as we were visiting our son in Charles Town but also wanted some time in Shepherdstown. It was so easy to get in touch with our host if needed. Great stay!!

Cute space with many original details and thoughtful and tasteful decorations, including great holiday decorations. Comfortable and clean bed and space. Clean modern bathroom. One large spacious room for living and sleeping. Good towels and sheets. Kitchen was well stocked with basics. Check-in was easy. Short drive from charming little Shephardtown.
