We've stayed here twice now. The house is very clean, even the sponge for dishes smelled clean. The house is very well stocked with paper towels, trash bags, soap, shampoo, laundry pods & dryer sheets, coffee & coffee filters, etc. The knives aren't very sharp, but I've only ever stayed at one place where I didn't want my own knife. The master bedroom had very nice sheets. The master shower has decent water pressure. The Woods resort is easy to walk, we had our dog, and it's only about 15 min to Berkeley Springs. The side, fenced in dog yard is very convenient!

This cozy cabin sits amongst the trees on a quiet "no outlet" street. The neighborhood was very quiet. The house was lovely, decorated perfectly. Had everything we needed, down to the firewood. The icemaker even works! We slept in the master bedroom and the bed, sheets, pillows were all SO comfortable, it was probably the best sleep we've had at any rental. Also the super fluffy luxury towels are so appreciated! The side yard was very much enjoyed by our dog. The outdoor firepit with cafe lights were great as well! We would definitely stay here again!

We had the perfect cozy fall getaway! This cabin is by far the cleanest, most well kept vrbo we have ever rented. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is super well stocked, and water pressure is great. The cabin is nestled in a small, very quiet area that was perfect for us to unplug and enjoy spending time together, with everything you could possibly need in Martinsburg a short drove away. The fenced in side yard was the perfect spot to let the dog out, and we loved sitting on the front porch together. Heidi was great to work with, and we will definitely be back!

This cabin was a perfect little getaway in a cozy and quiet setting. We especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, the spacious front deck, and the fully enclosed side yard. Our dog absolutely loved both outdoor spaces. The front deck even has a gate, which made it extra pet-friendly. We had a bit of rain during our stay, but the tree cover was lovely and made it feel much less noticeable. A major highlight: the king-size bed was incredibly comfortable—such a relief for anyone with back issues!Heidi was a truly exceptional host. She was thoughtful, kind, and incredibly accommodating. When our pup wasn’t feeling well, she went above and beyond, even offering to help us find a local vet so we could enjoy the rest of our stay. We’re so grateful for her support and hospitality!

This charming cabin in the woods is perfectly set up for a peaceful getaway. We had fire pits under charming string lights, with comfortable Adirondack chairs, walks through the neighborhood that seemed like we were in a nature park. Everything was available to ensure we had a great time for family with young adults and toddler, infant, and two little dogs who had their own fenced play area!

Quick mid week vacation before school starts in the fall and we had a great time. Unit was spotless and very well appointed, our two dogs did great inside and out in the fenced yard area. Woods resort had plenty to do for my young teens with the pools, hiking and fishing, will visit again.

Wonderful place and wonderful stay. If you are looking for a beautiful home in a quiet area Acorn Acres may be just what you are looking for. I would have given 5 stars across the board but we went during a season where there is not a lot to do. Our stay was wonderful with the exception of a few issues that I imagine will not be encountered by future guests. If Heidi is as on top of things as she seemed to be by her quick responses, than I imagine she will ensure future guests will not have to deal with the few hiccups we encountered. We booked through VRBO and had a few minor discrepancies that Heidi quickly resolved. We also had a maintenance issue where the propane tanks for the fireplace were empty. Being at a cabin for Thanksgiving with a nice fireplace seemed festive. However, I spent part of our first evening trying to get the fireplace to work, only to go outside and find there was no propane. Needless to say it was a bit disappointing. Heidi did respond quickly, but since it was the holidays we did not get to use it. (I imagine it won\'t happen again) The outdoor fire pit is wonderful and our family dog loved the fenced area. The cabin is beautifully decorated and furnished nicely with everything you need to get away.. Do note that there are no "regular" TV stations which made my 21 year old son have to scramble to watch the World Cup and Thanksgiving football games by downloading a few apps. Overall we would certainly recommend and would definitely return.

Place seemed nice and clean when we arrived but kids ended up with lice. We were not informed about needing day passes to be able to use amenities at the resort so we lost a day of activities. There was dog poop everywhere around the outdoor fire place.

We had a great time at the cabin with our two teens and dog. The cabin is extremely clean and uncluttered (which I really appreciate!) We had everything we needed to make a few meals in the cabin, and were also able to grill and enjoy s'mores around the fire pit. We enjoyed hiking in nearby Cacapon state park.

Everything was great! The house was clean and very welcoming and definitely didn’t feel like we were strangers in someone’s home (huge fan of the decor!!). While there are homes nearby it was still a very quiet and peaceful area. We will definitely be back again!

Grandpa, Grandma, Son, Granddaughter and our Doggie had five days to talk/play games/cookout/relax by fire pit/visit Berkeley Springs. We hiked the Stauffers Marsh Preserve (which was perfect for our 3yr old granddaughter). The beds were super comfortable.

This was my second time staying at Acorn Acre and I can’t wait to go back. The home is so clean and tastefully decorated. The amenities and finishes are top notch. Close enough to town. Perfect for dogs. Will be going back for sure.

Heidi's house was beautiful! Decorated so nicely and had everything we needed! Will definitely stay here again when we come back to the area!!
Heidi's house was beautiful! Decorated so nicely and had everything we needed! Will definitely stay here again when we come back to the area!!

My husband and I spent 3 nights in this comfortable home in The Woods Resort. The home was well appointed and had everything we needed. Nice kitchen that even had a decent knife! Coffee & filters were provided. Soap, shampoo & conditioner were in the bathrooms along with big fluffy towels. Linens were soft and the master bed was very comfortable. We loved the side yard for our dog and there were dog bowls to use. The ownder was quick to respond to our inquiries. We highly recommend this rental and plan to return.

We had a pretty good stay at Acorn Acre. There were definitely lots of games and puzzles. The place was very clean with ample extra linens, toilet paper, etc. It was a little tough for our family having two of the beds be in the loft, which, while up some stairs is still open to the downstairs (sound travels). The kitchen was fairly well stocked, but we would suggest adding a cheese grater, tea kettle, and a few smaller glasses, like juice glasses). Heidi was very communicative/responsive, which was helpful. A few times it did seem like the air conditioning wasn’t working, but then it would work eventually. The cabin was a bit closer to neighbors than we would have liked. Overall we had a decent stay.

We had the perfect cozy fall getaway! This cabin is by far the cleanest, most well kept vrbo we have ever rented. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is super well stocked, and water pressure is great. The cabin is nestled in a small, very quiet area that was perfect for us to unplug and enjoy spending time together, with everything you could possibly need in Martinsburg a short drove away. The fenced in side yard was the perfect spot to let the dog out, and we loved sitting on the front porch together. Heidi was great to work with, and we will definitely be back!

This cabin was a perfect little getaway in a cozy and quiet setting. We especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen, the spacious front deck, and the fully enclosed side yard. Our dog absolutely loved both outdoor spaces. The front deck even has a gate, which made it extra pet-friendly. We had a bit of rain during our stay, but the tree cover was lovely and made it feel much less noticeable. A major highlight: the king-size bed was incredibly comfortable—such a relief for anyone with back issues!Heidi was a truly exceptional host. She was thoughtful, kind, and incredibly accommodating. When our pup wasn’t feeling well, she went above and beyond, even offering to help us find a local vet so we could enjoy the rest of our stay. We’re so grateful for her support and hospitality!

Acorn Acre is a charming, well kept cabin. We enjoyed our family vacation for a week there. The cabin was well stocked and prepared for our visit. It is well located to allow us to explore the area with day trips to Harper's Ferry, Martinsburg, and Berkeley Springs. We also enjoyed several days hanging around the cabin playing games and relaxing. The kitchen was great to cook in. Communication was great with the host, friendlu, helpful, and responsive. Highly recommend.

My wife and our daughter and her family just had a great time staying at Heidi's cabin in the Woods Resort. This is a peaceful location with plenty of wildlife walking through to excite your dog. Just perfect for us six folks (two being little ones) and I highly recommend it. I can also say that Heidi is most responsive as we needed to communicatre with her a few times and she got right back to us. Good stuff.

Wonderful place and wonderful stay. If you are looking for a beautiful home in a quiet area Acorn Acres may be just what you are looking for. I would have given 5 stars across the board but we went during a season where there is not a lot to do. Our stay was wonderful with the exception of a few issues that I imagine will not be encountered by future guests. If Heidi is as on top of things as she seemed to be by her quick responses, than I imagine she will ensure future guests will not have to deal with the few hiccups we encountered. We booked through VRBO and had a few minor discrepancies that Heidi quickly resolved. We also had a maintenance issue where the propane tanks for the fireplace were empty. Being at a cabin for Thanksgiving with a nice fireplace seemed festive. However, I spent part of our first evening trying to get the fireplace to work, only to go outside and find there was no propane. Needless to say it was a bit disappointing. Heidi did respond quickly, but since it was the holidays we did not get to use it. (I imagine it won\'t happen again) The outdoor fire pit is wonderful and our family dog loved the fenced area. The cabin is beautifully decorated and furnished nicely with everything you need to get away.. Do note that there are no "regular" TV stations which made my 21 year old son have to scramble to watch the World Cup and Thanksgiving football games by downloading a few apps. Overall we would certainly recommend and would definitely return.

The house was just as described. Very clean and spacious. Kitchen had everything we needed. We spent one afternoon in Berkeley Springs exploring, then had dinner in Hancock, MD. Then the next day after a hike in Cacapon, we drove to Winchester, VA for an afternoon. The cabin was central to both MD and VA. Highly recommend this cabin!

Love this little cabin in the woods! Rustic on the outside and comfy on the inside. Location was quiet and relaxing. The host gave a lot of thought about comfort for us and our pets. Woke up in the mornings to watch deer grazing in the yard while sipping coffee. We saw a few foxes playing in the backyard. Found the fire area perfect! good seating, plenty of firewood and a cover to put fire out when done. Thank you Heidi for providing this near perfect home away from home!

Extremely clean, well supplied with the basics, quiet, cozy and more! We had a nice, relaxing stay at this cabin right next to the resort. Our kids enjoyed swimming and the playground. We drove to Cacapon state park. It was the perfect place for a Thanksgiving getaway. The linens all smell fresh and everything was comfortable! Thank you for our great stay!

We’ve been to Acorn Acres a handful of times. It feels like the cabin never ages, everything is clean and well cared for. The beds are comfy and the ammenities are plentiful. The Woods is a relaxing little community. Berkeley Springs is a short drive away. This place is so dog friendly yet cleaned very well you’d never know it. Thanks again Heidi, great host and stay.

It was really easy to check in. The manager was quick to answer any of my questions that I had and quick to respond to me. We were sad that we couldn’t use the fire pit due to the wind. It was quiet and the area was pretty as well.
