We enjoyed the fireplace every morning and evening. The kids loved the loft..their own space to play. Kitchen is equipped with everything we needed to put full meals on the table every night. And we used the fire pit twice for s’mores and family stories. Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful cabin in a secluded area perfect for an escape from the hustle. Loved relaxing in the hot tub and sitting by the fire place. I would definitely recommend for a relaxing and recharging cabin experience.

Great place not a minute walk from the river. Google gives you wrong directions. Fire place did not work landlord fixed it thexlast day we were there. Down draft did not work which did not get fixed. Other then that it is a great place.

We had a wonderful stay! The owner Mark keeps a beautiful and comfortable cabin. He also was a great resource for suggestions to fill in our few openings in our schedule. The hot tub was clean, spacious and a wonderful way to end each day. Beds were comfy and the two fireplaces were so cozy! Highly recommend!

Great experience all around with the property. Well stocked with kitchenware and a grill to make cooking enjoyable. Hot tub, fire pit, and outdoor space were all great. Inside of the house is beautiful and makes you feel immersed in the woods/mountains. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay near Shenandoah/Front Royal/Luray

The master bedroom and bathroom were both larger than expected, and everything was clean and thoughtfully prepared. One of the highlights was definitely the view—absolutely stunning—and the jacuzzi was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Such a wonderful time spent in this beautiful cabin. Hot tub a great bonus. We relaxed, hiked, visited caverns and canoed on the Shenandoah river. Mark was a great communicator in the run up to our stay which made it easy to navigate both the route to the cabin and also how to make the most of the cabin. Thank you!

The cabin was very nice for our family retreat as it was remote but only 20 minutes from town. It was very spacious, cozy, and clean. We spent time walking down to the river, hiking on nearby trails, and soaking in the hot tub. I would definitely come back.

Our family was looking for a nice vacation and we had it! Everything in the listing is correct! The house was clean, it has everything you need to feel right at home! It was nice and spacious for all of us! The outside is amazing and the deck was amazing for morning coffee, mid day games, reading and just hanging out at night for watching the stars! Mark is such a great host and very easy to communicate with even before the trip! We highly recommend booking this property, no matter the season because it is that beautiful! ❤️

This home is absolutely gorgeous. Set in a remote location, but accessible to everything you need. The house has a rustic vibe, yet every modern convenience, tech and otherwise. My two young grandchildren were with us, and they LOVED the loft, which was their “playroom,” and the children’s house in the backyard. Lastly, I am a stickler for cleanliness, and this home was immaculate and smelled fresh and clean. We will definitely plan a return visit.

This secluded property was everything we imagined! Clean, spacious, and quiet!!! Our highlights were, sitting by the fireplace while enjoying an amazing charcuterie with Lotz of booze. Waking up discombobulated and all, rushing to get into that amazing new 🔥 tub @ approximately 7:12am trying to catch the sunrise. 🤭 And let's not forget about the mind-blowing views, while being greeted with the the sounds of nature. Thank you Marky Mark for being such a professional host, and sharing your home with us...We will be back! Indubitably!!!

I was beyond impressed with the host's instructions not only for the directions to the cabin but for local attractions, things to do, things to bring, and he even sent a whole list of troubleshooting every item in the house. The cabin was very clean and everything looked like the picture. The beds were comfortable and every appliance worked great! I would highly recommend this cabin for a peaceful getaway! Best communication from the host I have ever received.

Cabin was ideal for our family of four, easy access to Shenandoah for hiking, would recommend the nearby kayak rental center as well to spend some time on the river. Communication with the host was excellent including all of the informative documents provided before our stay. Starlink internet was an added bonus.

We wanted to stay in a quiet bit of Virginia. Be in the woods and near to the river. This house is all that and more! A 5 minute walk to a very private part of the river. Set in secluded woodlands with a stunning deck to listen to the wildlife, watch the trees, take that morning coffee or eat al fresco. The floor to ceiling windows would give the same view in those colder months. The house itself is spacious yet still feels like home. A beautifully equipped kitchen (wine fridge, choice of coffee machine - you get the drift), cosy sitting area, 3 bedrooms equipped with the comfiest bed and a great mezzanine/loft area for the teens made our stay easy, elegant and relaxed. Waking to the sun streaming in through the bedroom window was sublime. Also - a good sized super powered hot tub is available. We didn’t make use but other guests in the guest book loved it! The house is about 25 minutes drive from nearest towns, which we knew and chose! So we cooked or grilled each night. But the drives to luray or front royal were super easy. The owner was responsive and clear in their communications at all times. We came from the UK. We’ll return. You can’t say better than that!

The River Woods Retreat house was a lovely setting for our family getaway. It is surrounded by forest and you can enjoy the symphony of bird songs from inside or while relaxing on the large deck. Everything we needed was there and the mattresses were super-comfortable.

Nestled in the serene mountains of the Shenandoah Valley, this beautiful cabin provided a peaceful retreat. Within a half-hour’s drive, we were able to explore the northern and central regions of the National Park. The owner was incredibly responsive to our questions and provided quick answers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this cabin for future stays.

Everything went as smoothly as possible. The owner, Mark, is incredibly thorough, with listings of helpful information, down to the kitchen cabinets and drawers (which really helped in putting things away!). The house is beautiful, private, and really comfy. The king bed has a great mattress. Fantastic rental - we really enjoyed it!

Everything as advertised. Host went out of his way to orient us (videos, typed directions/instructions/info); quick to respond. Just enough development in the area to keep it country. SNP, SSP, Skyline drive all worth the trip.

Such a wonderful time spent in this beautiful cabin. Hot tub a great bonus. We relaxed, hiked, visited caverns and canoed on the Shenandoah river. Mark was a great communicator in the run up to our stay which made it easy to navigate both the route to the cabin and also how to make the most of the cabin. Thank you!

I was beyond impressed with the host's instructions not only for the directions to the cabin but for local attractions, things to do, things to bring, and he even sent a whole list of troubleshooting every item in the house. The cabin was very clean and everything looked like the picture. The beds were comfortable and every appliance worked great! I would highly recommend this cabin for a peaceful getaway! Best communication from the host I have ever received.

Great cabin in the wilderness with easy access to the Shenandoah river for fishing, kayaking, enjoying nature. Cabin was ideal for our family of four, easy access to Shenandoah for hiking, would recommend the nearby kayak rental center as well to spend some time on the river. Communication with the host was excellent including all of the informative documents provided before our stay. Starlink internet was an added bonus.

Stayed two nights at a very charming, gorgeous cabin that mixes a traditional cabin theme with modern amenities. Beautiful property that is only 20 minutes from front royal and skyline drive. Mark was a gracious and helpful host. Definitely planning to book again.

Great place not a minute walk from the river. Google gives you wrong directions. Fire place did not work landlord fixed it thexlast day we were there. Down draft did not work which did not get fixed. Other then that it is a great place.

We wanted to stay in a quiet bit of Virginia. Be in the woods and near to the river. This house is all that and more! A 5 minute walk to a very private part of the river. Set in secluded woodlands with a stunning deck to listen to the wildlife, watch the trees, take that morning coffee or eat al fresco. The floor to ceiling windows would give the same view in those colder months. The house itself is spacious yet still feels like home. A beautifully equipped kitchen (wine fridge, choice of coffee machine - you get the drift), cosy sitting area, 3 bedrooms equipped with the comfiest bed and a great mezzanine/loft area for the teens made our stay easy, elegant and relaxed. Waking to the sun streaming in through the bedroom window was sublime. Also - a good sized super powered hot tub is available. We didn’t make use but other guests in the guest book loved it! The house is about 25 minutes drive from nearest towns, which we knew and chose! So we cooked or grilled each night. But the drives to luray or front royal were super easy. The owner was responsive and clear in their communications at all times. We came from the UK. We’ll return. You can’t say better than that!

The cabin was very nice for our family retreat as it was remote but only 20 minutes from town. It was very spacious, cozy, and clean. We spent time walking down to the river, hiking on nearby trails, and soaking in the hot tub. I would definitely come back.

Our family was looking for a nice vacation and we had it! Everything in the listing is correct! The house was clean, it has everything you need to feel right at home! It was nice and spacious for all of us! The outside is amazing and the deck was amazing for morning coffee, mid day games, reading and just hanging out at night for watching the stars! Mark is such a great host and very easy to communicate with even before the trip! We highly recommend booking this property, no matter the season because it is that beautiful! ❤️

We enjoyed the fireplace every morning and evening. The kids loved the loft..their own space to play. Kitchen is equipped with everything we needed to put full meals on the table every night. And we used the fire pit twice for s’mores and family stories. Can’t wait to return!

Great experience all around with the property. Well stocked with kitchenware and a grill to make cooking enjoyable. Hot tub, fire pit, and outdoor space were all great. Inside of the house is beautiful and makes you feel immersed in the woods/mountains. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking to stay near Shenandoah/Front Royal/Luray

We had such a wonderful stay at this cabin! The place itself is beautiful—spacious, well-equipped, and incredibly comfortable. The master bedroom and bathroom were both larger than expected, and everything was clean and thoughtfully prepared. One of the highlights was definitely the view—absolutely stunning—and the jacuzzi was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We also did the Overall Run Falls via Thompson Hollow hike, which was just a short drive away and totally worth it. Highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway!

The cabin was stocked with everything you need which helped a lot with planning. We can’t wait to come back one day and will definitely recommend the property ! Everything went as smoothly as possible. The owner, Mark, is incredibly thorough, with listings of helpful information, down to the kitchen cabinets and drawers (which really helped in putting things away!). The house is beautiful, private, and really comfy. The king bed has a great mattress. Fantastic rental - we really enjoyed it!

Perfect retreat for a getaway. Extremely comfortable and has all the amenities you could want. We had a great time chatting by the outside fire. Also enjoyed a vineyard and front royal main st, both just a short drive!
