Very nice property with great owners! It's not right on the bay, but you can easily see it from the back porch, and there is a sitting area by the water only about 150 feet away!

We had a great time at Harker's Island. It was quiet and relaxing, just what we were hoping for. This property has easy access to the Sound and a little beach at low tide. It's a short drive (1 mile?) to the end of the island to catch the ferry to Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout. The trip to the tip of Cape Lookout is well worth the effort to get there.
We had a great time at Harker's Island. It was quiet and relaxing, just what we were hoping for. This property has easy access to the Sound and a little beach at low tide. This is the second time we have stayed here, and we will keep coming back! Our hosts were easy to communicate with and the house is just perfect. There is so much to see and do in the area, but it was also great every day to come back and just chill on the porch or down at the water's edge watching the sunset. And I need to mention how comfy the beds are! We will definitely try to come back again.

The property is well appointed and beautiful. Clean, comfy beds and everything we could need at home. It is a few steps to a peaceful amazing waterfront area where we were able to wade and explore an area full of life. We saw a ray, a sea cucumber, many hermit crabs and cool shells. The sky, sunsets and stars were amazing. We very much enjoyed our stay.We enjoyed bike riding, taking the ferry over to Cape Lookout Lighthouse and the Core Island Waterfowl Museum.

Beautiful and comfortable home with amazing views. We spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the sound and enjoying the breeze. The home had everything you needed to cook your meals and the furniture and beds were very comfortable and in great condition. The decor was lovely and we loved the peacefulness of the island as it was a great place to relax. We highly recommend and would definitely come back again.

The location was great, steps from the water. The house was very clean and the views from the house were exceptional. Our girls loved looking for seashells in the water every morning. We got to meet the owners and they were very sweet. We would definitely stay here again. Be sure the take the ferry to cape lookout and shackleford banks and the Seaside galley has wonderful food at great prices!

This house is exceptional!! Very clean, cozy and great location. We felt at home and very safe there. The owners are close by and are so friendly and kind. Views are beautiful from the living room, porch, swing, hammock or by the water. Cape Lookout lighthouse can be seen from inside the house or the dock. Highly recommended!

This was the first time we had ever rented a vacation home on the coast, and now we are already planning our return trip! This home is beautifully decorated in peaceful shades of blue, green, and cream, and after a day of ferry rides, shelling, wild horses, and a lighthouse, it is a welcome place to relax and rest for the next day. The owners are so helpful and will answer questions quickly. We are 67 and 72, and were a little worried about the number of stairs, but we had no trouble with them. There is a pleasant balcony for catching the sea breeze. The beds are SO comfortable, and so are the recliners in the living room. I can't think of a better place to stay, and we fell in love with Harkers Island (especially with all the anchors)! Next year we are going to try and stay again, and invite our daughter to join us.

This was the perfectly cozy home away from home! The home itself is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and has gorgeous views of the ocean and sunsets…and dolphins!! The owners were wonderful hosts and so attentive to us during our stay there. The location is great, easy access to the ferry to the lighthouse and the island with the wild horses. But also easy access to town and more restaurants and dinner cruises to keep you entertained. I’ll definitely be going back again.

This was our second stay at this rental. Clean, appropriately decorated, extremely comfortable.Perfect base from which to make day trips to visit the shore at a number of different locations only accessible by ferry/boat. Also, close enough to the quaint town of Beaufort, NC where one could enjoy shopping, dining and/or just having a beer along the docks of this very nautical town.Hope to make this an annual vacation.

Great home for price. Clean, with lots of space. As with most coastal homes, home with several stairs, so be aware if you have mobility issues. We are no spring chickens and had no problems with stairs. Owners super nice and left us a special sea shell gift which was so sweet. Owners on adjoining property but respect privacy & don’t even realize they are there. 5 stars would stay again

First time at harkers island and it was wonderful. Location is perfect if you want to adventure out to other areas it really is a prime location. The house itself , immaculate. House was well stocked w items people may forget at home which is super convenient and gracious, views are unbeatable. I will note the stairs are harder for those with a little age, we underestimated them by the photos in the listing , which is to no fault of the owner just something for certain folks to keep in mind. The owner of the house is very hospitable as well esp towards the little ones!

My wife and I booked our anniversary getaway and took a chance on a brand new listing that didn’t have reviews. My my were we pleased with our decision. Fantastic location right on the water. A view of Shackleford Banks, peaceful area with no noise or disruptions. The hosts are so thoughtful; the rental experience is made to feel personable and like you’re borrowing a dear friends home for the weekend. The home is immaculate, appears to be brand new construction. It was super clean, well stocked with blankets and towels, and games and other thoughtful touches. This is the best experience I’ve ever had with vacation rentals. Fantastic hosts, I can’t state that enough. I do not have one negative thing to say about this place. We had such a great time!!

We stayed for a long weekend. We love the quiet location and close proximity to Island Express Ferry. The house is beautiful and the perfect size for one or two couples or a small family. The owner was also super sweet and let us know as soon as the house was ready and checked on us Saturday night when the winds really picked up. The weather didn't really allow us to take advantage of the outdoor seating to watch the sunset but the location is wonderful. Dining is very limited on the island but there is always the option to cook, Beaufort and the other beach towns are a reasonable drive, and the Fish Hook Grill is just down the road from the house. We ended up at the grill twice and the food was great. They also have the best whiskey sour. We will definitely keep this as our first option the next time we plan a trip to the area and highly recommend it.

This was the first time we had ever rented a vacation home on the coast, and now we are already planning our return trip! This home is beautifully decorated in peaceful shades of blue, green, and cream, and after a day of ferry rides, shelling, wild horses, and a lighthouse, it is a welcome place to relax and rest for the next day. The owners are so helpful and will answer questions quickly. We are 67 and 72, and were a little worried about the number of stairs, but we had no trouble with them. There is a pleasant balcony for catching the sea breeze. The beds are SO comfortable, and so are the recliners in the living room. I can't think of a better place to stay, and we fell in love with Harkers Island (especially with all the anchors)! Next year we are going to try and stay again, and invite our daughter to join us.

This is the second time we have stayed here, and we will keep coming back! Our hosts were easy to communicate with and the house is just perfect. There is so much to see and do in the area, but it was also great every day to come back and just chill on the porch or down at the water's edge watching the sunset. And I need to mention how comfy the beds are! We will definitely try to come back again.

The pictures of this home doesn't do it justice. This home felt so warm and inviting, the beds were very comfortable and the island of harkers is a slice of heaven. The owners were very nice and communicated via text which I greatly appreciate. They texted me to make sure we were ok and to see if we needed anything. The sunrises and sunset were magnificent. The owners also added some really nice personalized touches for are stay which the kids really liked. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing getaway 😊

The owners were wonderful hosts and so attentive to us during our stay there. The location is great, easy access to the ferry to the lighthouse and the island with the wild horses. But also easy access to town and more restaurants and dinner cruises to keep you entertained. I’ll definitely be going back again.

The house and location were exactly as stated and pictured. My husband and I, along with another couple celebrated our 25th Anniversary here at Harkers Island. We met the owners, Jamy and Marcia, extremely friendly and helpful with information. We spent a lot of time outdoors, down by the ocean or on the back porch. We all hated to leave but now have the energy to begin our next 25 years together!

The location was great, steps from the water. The house was very clean and the views from the house were exceptional. Our girls loved looking for seashells in the water every morning. We got to meet the owners and they were very sweet. We would definitely stay here again. Be sure the take the ferry to cape lookout and shackleford banks and the Seaside galley has wonderful food at great prices!

Our hosts were responsive and friendly. The house is beautifully appointed and access easy once we figured out the "back" door faces the street, not the water. Great seafood at both Island restaurants, and a small marina with a very helpful manager allowed us to make full use of our boat while there. Highly recommend!

Great home for price. Clean, with lots of space. As with most coastal homes, home with several stairs, so be aware if you have mobility issues. We are no spring chickens and had no problems with stairs. Owners super nice and left us a special sea shell gift which was so sweet. Owners on adjoining property but respect privacy & don’t even realize they are there. 5 stars would stay again

Wow!! This is our best experience with a vacation rental ever!! The hosts were extremely communicative and left plenty of information about area restaurants & sights to see. The home itself was beautifully decorated & comfortable. We did not want for anything! Exactly as advertised! A well stocked kitchen was definitely a plus. Comfortable bedding & furniture made for a relaxing stay for my long birthday weekend. Not to go unmentioned we’re the beautiful views from the home, out almost every window & off the rear deck. My husband & I had a fantastic trip & wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, in fact we’ve recommended it to a few folks already! Thanks again!

We had a great time at Harker's Island. It was quiet and relaxing, just what we were hoping for. This property has easy access to the Sound and a little beach at low tide. It's a short drive (1 mile?) to the end of the island to catch the ferry to Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout. The trip to the tip of Cape Lookout is well worth the effort to get there.
We had a great time at Harker's Island. It was quiet and relaxing, just what we were hoping for. This property has easy access to the Sound and a little beach at low tide. It's a short drive (1 mile?) to the end of the island to catch the ferry to Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout. The trip to the tip of Cape Lookout is well worth the effort to get there.

We stayed for a long weekend. We love the quiet location and close proximity to Island Express Ferry. The house is beautiful and the perfect size for one or two couples or a small family. The owner was also super sweet and let us know as soon as the house was ready and checked on us Saturday night when the winds really picked up. The weather didn't really allow us to take advantage of the outdoor seating to watch the sunset but the location is wonderful. Dining is very limited on the island but there is always the option to cook, Beaufort and the other beach towns are a reasonable drive, and the Fish Hook Grill is just down the road from the house. We ended up at the grill twice and the food was great. They also have the best whiskey sour. We will definitely keep this as our first option the next time we plan a trip to the area and highly recommend it.

My family just finished a 10 day getaway at this wonderful property on Harkers Island - we were so sad to leave! The island is situated in a perfect spot - close to many things like the Cape Lookout ferry, the Core Sound waterfowl museum and historic downtown Beaufort which has many restaurants and attractions - while being remote enough to experience the tranquility and splendor of an island getaway. There are grocery stores very close by for essentials whilst for greater selection the supermarkets in Beaufort are the closest and well stocked. Jamy and Marcia are wonderful hosts, very responsive and provided everything we needed to have a great vacation at their property. The cottage is almost brand new construction but feels very homey with lovely seaside decor and furnishings. All the appliances, including air conditioner (important this time of year!) are new and worked great. We loved sitting on the deck watching sunsets and shooting stars and highly recommend this Lighthouse Lookout island getaway!

Clean, appropriately decorated, extremely comfortable.Perfect base from which to make day trips to visit the shore at a number of different locations only accessible by ferry/boat. Also, close enough to the quaint town of Beaufort, NC where one could enjoy shopping, dining and/or just having a beer along the docks of this very nautical town.Hope to make this an annual vacation.

Beautiful and comfortable home with amazing views. We spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the sound and enjoying the breeze. The home had everything you needed to cook your meals and the furniture and beds were very comfortable and in great condition. The decor was lovely and we loved the peacefulness of the island as it was a great place to relax. We highly recommend and would definitely come back again.

First time at harkers island and it was wonderful. Location is perfect if you want to adventure out to other areas it really is a prime location. The house itself , immaculate. House was well stocked w items people may forget at home which is super convenient and gracious, views are unbeatable. I will note the stairs are harder for those with a little age, we underestimated them by the photos in the listing , which is to no fault of the owner just something for certain folks to keep in mind. The owner of the house is very hospitable as well esp towards the little ones!

Comfortable bedding & furniture made for a relaxing stay for my long birthday weekend. Not to go unmentioned we’re the beautiful views from the home, out almost every window & off the rear deck. My husband & I had a fantastic trip & wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again, in fact we’ve recommended it to a few folks already! Thanks again!
Wow!! This is our best experience with a vacation rental ever!! The hosts were extremely communicative and left plenty of information about area restaurants & sights to see. The home itself was beautifully decorated & comfortable. We did not want for anything! Exactly as advertised! A well stocked kitchen was definitely a plus. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Harker’s Island. The cottage was lovely, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The hospitality was outstanding, and there were plenty of good restaurants near. Can’t wait to go again soon!

We absolutely love staying in this beautiful home with stunning views of the sound!!! The home is beautifully decorated, clean and well furnished. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the ducks fly over while sipping our coffee. We came in on Thursday for the Core Sound & Waterfowl Museum festival. We had a blast!!! We met the sweetest people who grew up on Harkers Island and it was fun listening to their stories. The whole experience from Friday until Sunday was like a Hallmark movie!!!We look forward to coming back and bringing our children and grandchildren. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Beautiful home with beautiful views! Immaculate, comfortable furnishings! Location was perfect, close to ferry that takes you to Cape Lookout. Owners were quick to respond to texts, very helpful and kind! Give this home a try, you won’t be disappointed!!
