The Quack Shack was so cozy and had everything we could need and more! Perfect weekend away - we brought a boat & the ramp was close, dock was great! Dog friendly, loved the fenced in yard! Some friends and their children visited us while we were there - great for them as well!

The Quack Shack is a wonderful lakeside cabin that offers great amenities, views and a wonderful dock. The yard is fully fenced on the parking side and is fenced into the water on the lake side so it is a great setup for dogs. Everything you could need is in this cabin and more. Had a great time on the new dock and the peaceful cove is a dream come true.

This place is well stocked with kayaks, life jackets, floats, firewood, Chairs etc. Location is great, but drive way is very steep and it can be hard to turn around in--watch the trees! It has a washer and dryer and allows pets (we didn't have them, but that's cool). It even has dog and duck treats. My only complaint is that it could have been a little cleaner--mostly the floor and then some dust on light fixtures and places that some people wouldn't notice, but I did. Plus, the bedroom with the bunk beds does not have AC. There is a fan, but it stays warmer in there than the rest of the house. Great little place for the weekend!

Very peaceful and set up perfectly as dog friendly! Host was fantastic responding instantly to questions. Jon even came over to assist on something minor-10 stars! Loved the dock and gazebo along with all of the "toys" that the owners encouraged us to use. Great next door neighbor there as well. Great find!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Quack Shack! Everything about it was fantastic. We had the best week just relaxing, fishing from the private dock, swimming , kayaking. Columbia was just a short drive away which meant a trip to the Riverbanks Zoo. Everything we needed for our stay was at the house, except food. We cooked most meals, but there is a great little bar/restaurant about mile away by boat(kayak) that we paddled.to a couple of days. We would absolutely stay here again in the future. Heck. I'd buy the place if given the chance in the future!

The cute quack shack house was right on the lake which is a huge beautiful Lake. John was very prompt in communication and very helpful and attentive. There was so much to do on property and so much more nearby. It almost felt like we had the entire Lake to ourselves. The property provided kayaks and paddle boards and other fun games. Bonus was that the property was completely fenced out which is great for pets to have off leash. We definitely enjoyed our time and will be returning.

Love love love this little cabin! It's small but still enough room that you aren't crowded. This was by far the most stocked place I've rented on Lake Murray the past 6 years. They really do have everything you need except your clothes. New dock was great for fishing and jumping off of and the covered sitting area was great for a lunch break from swimming and kayaking on the provided water toys. I do wish there was a ladder on the dock to climb back up because the path through the water to the shore was covered in rocks that hurt your feet to walk across so water shoes recommended. The fenced yard all the way down to the water was great for bringing your dog so they can run freely with you while you enjoy the lake. I will definitely be coming back with my family next year.

We stayed at this property for weekend tournament. My family had a blast while we were fishing, of course the fishing was great also! Neighborhood is great, neighbors are very friendly. Plenty of room to park 4-5 vehicles and turn around a truck and 21’ boat trailer. Boat dock is brand new with plenty of room for 2-3 boats.

This place has everything you need from kitchen stuff, bathroom needs, tv, beach towels, kayak, swimming, indoor games and outdoor games and probably things I haven't mentioned. I'm a senior citizen but I'm sure kids would have a blast.

Loved that the place was equipped with not only basic amenities but also lake gear such as for fishing, kayaking, and stand up paddling! It’s a great place to pass the time.

When I first walked in the door, I noticed how clean it smelled. It cones with its quirks, as its an older bungalow, but there was not a thing that we were lacking. The property and the location were 10 star. The host was 10 star. We'll be back!

House was nice and clean. We enjoyed the fenced in yard for our 2 small dogs. The yard needs more space to accommodate parking and maneuvering a full size truck and 18’ boat.

We really enjoyed our stay! Great space with great views. We had a storm our last night and lost power, however the property manager was easy to contact and even gave us extra time for checking out! Really the only down side was the cobwebs and some bugs! Overall a great place!!!

My family of 5 stayed for the weekend and it was better than any normal hotel. The access to the lake with the available kayaks were a big hit. The location was a little off the beaten path but expected for a lake house. If you don’t like spiders then be warned…there are a lot of webs!!

The whole process and communication with Jon was wonderful. He is very responsive and quick with getting back to messages, great host!! We came all the way from Wisconsin, as my son had graduated from Fort Jackson Army boot camp. About a 41 minute commute to the base. Would definitely stay again. The lake view is amazing, its quiet, the neighbors are very nice. I rated the cleanliness 3 stars, only because they are in the process of some renovations, so some dust is to be expected. Other than that, everything else was outstanding!! The host literally thought of everything that one may need to enjoy all the amenities. Fishing poles and tackle, kayaks, gear, it was an amazing stay, and would recommend if anyone is thinking about staying, just book it. Thank you Jon for a great stay!!

We had a wonderful stay at the quack shack! We will definitely go back & would recommend it. It is stocked very well so you can just show up and enjoy! The beds are comfortable, the cabin is adorable and a great waterfront dock to play on.

we had a great time even though the weather didn't go the way we thought it would. It rained most the time. We loved the direct access to the lake and dock. The house was just the right size for our stay. Was awesome to see all the turtles, frogs, fish, ducks, and cranes. The neighbors were friendly and their dogs were chatty Pomeranian, but did not bother us as we have dogs of our own. Only downfall which was not a deal breaker, but the beds were not super comfortable to us but may work for someone else. We are already talking about another trip.

First time we decided to rent a house at the lake versus staying at a hotel at the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, wildlife and fishing but…we dreaded going into the “Quack Shack” for the night. The sofas, bed & pillows seemed extremely worn out by previous guests and were too uncomfortable to relax/sleep in. They definitely need to be replaced. However, the outdoor scenery and activities more than compensated for the furniture discomfort.
First time we decided to rent a house at the lake versus staying at a hotel at the beach. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, wildlife and fishing but…we dreaded going into the “Quack Shack” for the night. The Quack Shack was just perfect for a quick two night trip to visit family for Christmas! It was cute and quaint, just like the pictures, and had everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Quack Shack! Everything about it was fantastic. We had the best week just relaxing, fishing from the private dock, swimming , kayaking. Columbia was just a short drive away which meant a trip to the Riverbanks Zoo. Everything we needed for our stay was at the house, except food. We cooked most meals, but there is a great little bar/restaurant about mile away by boat(kayak) that we paddled.to a couple of days. We would absolutely stay here again in the future. Heck. I'd buy the place if given the chance in the future!

The cute quack shack house was right on the lake which is a huge beautiful Lake. John was very prompt in communication and very helpful and attentive. There was so much to do on property and so much more nearby. It almost felt like we had the entire Lake to ourselves. The property provided kayaks and paddle boards and other fun games. Bonus was that the property was completely fenced out which is great for pets to have off leash. We definitely enjoyed our time and will be returning.

When I first walked in the door, I noticed how clean it smelled. It cones with its quirks, as its an older bungalow, but there was not a thing that we were lacking. The property and the location were 10 star. The host was 10 star. We'll be back!

We really enjoyed our stay! Great space with great views. We had a storm our last night and lost power, however the property manager was easy to contact and even gave us extra time for checking out! Really the only down side was the cobwebs and some bugs! Overall a great place!!!

The whole process and communication with Jon was wonderful. He is very responsive and quick with getting back to messages, great host!! We came all the way from Wisconsin, as my son had graduated from Fort Jackson Army boot camp. About a 41 minute commute to the base. Would definitely stay again. The lake view is amazing, its quiet, the neighbors are very nice. I rated the cleanliness 3 stars, only because they are in the process of some renovations, so some dust is to be expected. Other than that, everything else was outstanding!! The host literally thought of everything that one may need to enjoy all the amenities. Fishing poles and tackle, kayaks, gear, it was an amazing stay, and would recommend if anyone is thinking about staying, just book it. Thank you Jon for a great stay!!

This place is cute. Nestled in a nice little, private-enough, corner of the lake. We had a great time at the Quack Shack, would absolutely recommend it and would be very grateful to be welcomed back again. While we werent fortunate enough to see any ducks, we did meet many other little critters, like turtles, frogs, geese, and deer (and even the stray heron!) Google Maps will lead you into the neighbors driveway, dont listen to it.

It’s a great place to stay if you’re planning on staying put. Coffee on the back porch, overlooking the lake, was the highlight of every morning. Since we were in the area to get to know Lexington, it was a bit too far out for our purposes. Would have liked to have known there was a paddle board on property so I could have left mine at home and saved some space in the car but not the end of the world. 😊 Overall a great little place at the lake.

Just a beautiful spot on Murray Lake! My husband enjoyed the fishing and our dogs loved wading in the water as well! The new covered deck/dock is really fabulous.

The Quack Shack is located at a very peaceful part of Lake Murray. We had our own Kayaks and kayaking was great. Our Sheltie loved the fenced in yard and we had a nice visit with the neighbors. Every kind of need was available if we needed it. Great location, great relaxing stay.

We had the absolute best time spending our Fourth of July weekend at the Quack Shack. The property and location were ideal. Everything needed for our stay was supplied. The host was great as well. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay. Sat on the Dock several times,watched the moon go up and the sun come down. Caught a few turtles while fishing.Hiked the trails in the Dreher Island State Park. Had a nice meal at Catch 22. Grilled out a few times.. Looking forward to returning once the renovation is completed. Thankyou, Francis and Kathleen

It was a really, really nice getaway that we both needed. Also great fishing! As well as far away enough from City areas to feel secluded in a good way but close enough to be able to get there pretty easily for good food!.

We had a wonderful time ! Me & my gf came for a mini vacation get away we brought our dog also and this place is amazing we got to kayak and swim, play corn hole and also spend a night next to the fire pit and grill out ! This was the best relaxing and quiet get away for us & my fur baby. ♥️

This place has everything you need from kitchen stuff, bathroom needs, tv, beach towels, kayak, swimming, indoor games and outdoor games and probably things I haven't mentioned. I'm a senior citizen but I'm sure kids would have a blast.

This is a cozy cabin with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, and feeding the ducks. We weren't able to use the outdoor fire pit since the water was too high, but were still able to make some smores indoors. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils, as well as seasonings. Would love to come back!

Screened porch was missing the door, had many wasp nests and was filthy!Back screen door was torn allowing bugs in!Hole in edge of roof allowing anything to enter!Back yard was not fenced in.Rear of house spot lights did not light!Bed was difficult to get in, since it was pushed against the wall.

We enjoyed the “shack life” at the lake while our hardwood floors were being refinished.Old style lakefront house with great deck and gazebo. Quiet and peaceful. Would stay there again.

Location was really great, deff dog friendly minus the neighbor dog that doesn't stop barking when your pets are outside, so having the dog outside was very limited... The house could have a better cleaning service with it being dusty the couches had literal dirt on them and need to be cleaned appn arrival, most amenities where there when it came to meals, my only big complaint was the fact that there where several mice running around to where the dog bowls needed to be kept up out of reach we didn't end up staying both the nights we booked due to the mice situation. We ended up staying with a friend instead.

A few bumps in the road, but the Host communication was really good with immediate solutions. Pet-friendly including bowls and treats! What a great area! Loved being able to kayak right from the property. Plenty of space to park. Super close to Dreher Island State Park where you can fish, rent a kayak or paddle board, or hike with a small entrance fee (3/adult, 1/child).
