Quiet Cozy Home Minutes Away From Downtown

The rental was nice and clean. We went for our son's Basic Training Graduation at Fort Jackson. It's about 15-20 away, depending on freeway traffic. Just needed to leave a little early, Not bad at all. Our Soldier got to come back and rest with his family. It's good for the price, could use a better couch, getting a bit worn, but it worked for the most part. There is an Applebees very close and plenty of convenient stores in the area including a Dunkin Donuts and Dollar General not to far away. We felt safe and it was very quiet. Loved that they had coffee, creamer and snacks. There is also fishing at Lake Murray if you need to pass some time and get out to do something. Bring a fold up pole and you are good to go. Yard is nice to sit in the back. There is no bbq grill. Would like to give our son his favorite meal before he was shipped out, but that was something that wasn't available.The showers has plenty of hot water for the whole family. They could use a frying pan and cookie sheet and maybe 3 more coffee cups so there was enough for everyone. I was happy they at least had a couple.We would definitely go back again if ever in that area. Thank you .

Great location for my sons Basic Training graduation. For the price it was perfect

This house had enough space for our family of 6 to stay for the week, the location was great in a quiet neighborhood and close to grocery stores and tons of restaurants and was also close to the highway. Unfortunately, the house is very dirty. There are dirty marks all over the walls and doors. The carpet is disgusting. The railing on the stairs is covered in dirty handprints. It made me question how clean the bedsheets and towels actually were, especially considering how dirty the washer is. This house could really use a professional deep clean, and maybe hard wood floors?? The beds were incredibly uncomfortable and the mattress protectors were plastic, so everytime you move during the night the whole house can hear you. This house is really cute and has the potential to be a great rental, but the cleanliness bar definitely needs to be raised.

This week was a big deal for our military family. A kitchen to cook in, & 3 bedrooms was perfect! The host was communicative through everything. Answered all my q's very quick. When we arrived, it seemed good until I went to make pasta. Cookware is LIMITED (one 2-q pot, tiny saucepan, 10 inch frying pan) Pulled the pot from the cupboard, dirty. Cooking utensils, also limited (DULL knives.) But, all dirty. Either food bits, or sticky. Kitchen was underwhelming; only cooked one meal. The couch in the living room, felt like you were sliding off. Second huge disappointment: the beds. Q: Why would anyone wrap a mattress in what resembles a shower curtain? There are many options for good protectors that don't sound or feel like sleeping on straight plastic. My bed was lumpy, and stained sheets; conveniently placed toward the foot of the bed. The mattress was used for an extended time by one person that slept in the same spot as it was sunk in, and very hard. My brother said "I'd rather sleep on the stairs or in the driveway" than on the plastic wrapped, hard bed of the other bedroom. (I wouldn't suggest the stairs, the carpet is pretty dirty) The master, also very hard, covered in awful plastic. Overall, this was too expensive for the lack of amenities. DECENT mattress protectors don't sound or feel like shower curtains; found on Amazon less than $20 a piece. Decent pan assortment for less than $60. I would also say a curved shower curtain rod ($25) would help that narrow shower.
