Really good property and friendly staff. It was a little noisy at times but nothing too bad, I would take earplugs though. The gym is really quite small, it’s good to have one but it’s not very well equipped so set your expectations quite low. The pool area is nice loses the sun in the afternoon and gets incredibly busy even during quiet periods at the hotel. It was a very standard citizen M hotel so you know exactly what you’re getting and they always seem to deliver on that. I say for five nights and I think that’s quite a long time to stay in these types of rooms, the location is really good, but if you’re staying longer than a couple of nights, I’d look for more of a resort type hotel to really fully enjoy Austin.

The rooms here are super TINY! King size bed touches 3 of the walls. The toilet/shower combo is in the room with tinted glass. The sink is in the room. The fridge is a small drawer cooler. No parking. The underground parking garage (not included) across the street is expensive and brings you up a block away. Everything here is cramped and claustrophobic. It takes 2 elevator rides to go from road level to third floor and there was usually a 15 minute wait for the elevators. It’s fancy with all sorts of “smart” switches, tv, etc. no tv remote, instead an iPad mini. You leave and all the blinds close, TV turns off, and lights turn off. Very confusing and frustrating. Nicely decorated, nice staff, and clean, but a little too untraditional for me. Breakfast buffet option was $50 a day. Didn’t look like it was worth it. Bring your own water!

I had the best experience with this hotel. Was able to do early check in and late check out, room was very nice and clean, great amenities (I enjoyed the gym and pool). They have very good buffet breakfast.

Several problems . No internet for the first day which meant that keys didn't work,cash only at the bar. This also resulted in the curtains going up automatically the next day very early in the morning, cash only at the bar etc. The room is very very small and the price isn't low enough to justify it. Fuse blew when using a curling iron. No parking. Hotel can't be called form outside the hotel, you only get a robot. It's a good loctation , nut over priced for what you get.

I wanted to like this hotel, I had high hopes for it. Pros: nice pillows, good sized bed and awesome window. High tech lights and temp controlled via a tablet, which was both cool and annoying. Cons: they conducted a fire alarm test at 7am (sirens and lights with announcements), which sucked. They only offer lights cleanings on demand, which is fine, I opted for one cleaning during my stay, but it wasn’t great. They took the towels and didn’t replace them. Cups are meant to come with the room (there’s a little drawer for them) but no cups on arrival - staff handed me one when I went to check with reception. Ironing is available in a shared ironing room on each floor, which was just a bummer. It was close to where we needed to be, and I got good sleep when fire alarms weren’t going off and my neighboring guests weren’t hotboxing their rooms (weed smell came into the room daily at 10am). The black out blinds were amazing. Pool was lovely, and staff for the most part were helpful.

The room had condensation from the AC on the ceiling and the AC was leaking all day and night. The floor was always wet. The ester damaged some of my electronics and possibly ruined them. I asked twice for you guys to move me rooms and you guys would always say yes and never ended up moving me rooms. I was there 5 days dealing with all of this. We would have to use our own towel to dry the floor because no one would come to clean up either.

Great and quirky hotel in a good area downtown. The iPad control for everything works well (although would be nice having a physical light switch to turn the room lights on when entering the room; there's only a switch to put the room in energy saving mode). Small but well designed rooms, perfect for one person but might be a stretch for a couple since the bed is right at the edge of the room and is only accessed from one side. Not much street noise or noise from other rooms

Citizen m has the world’s tiniest hotel rooms. There is nowhere to sit - you can’t eat or work in your room unless you do it on the bed, which spans the entire width of the room (7 feet). No closet no storage no room for your suitcase. Never again citizen m.

A little noisy for our taste but our teenagers loved it! Very cool, trendy and modern. Rooms were clean but very small especially the shower. So if you're a big, tall guy like my husband you won't be too comfortable in the room.

The check in staff was very informative and friendly. Though check in is at 2pm we were able to check in early which was beyond wonderful. The rooms are a little small, and the beds are a smidge stiff for my liking, but overall it was a great stay. Perfect for what we were needing.

Let me be clear—we didn’t actually wind up staying here, and walked out after about 10 minutes. We are a middle-aged couple with no kids and travel frequently. And we’re used to staying in luxury hotels with a professional staff and lots of amenities. This hotel is not that. The main drawback is that they have no parking, which, in the city of Austin, is not an option we want to risk. (Our car was once broken into.) They also have no reception desk or traditional staff to speak of as far as we could tell. The only person who spoke to us was a guy in a hoodie, and he looked almost surprised that anyone wanted to talk to him. However, if you’re in your 20s or 30s and want a space where you can work on a laptop and actually talking to anybody isn’t really a priority, this might really work out for you.

The entire staff made our week so good that we canceled the second hotel and extended this stay. Kudos!

First time here, but not the last. Really Enjoyed the stay, the self access check in and check out system. Everything was walkable, clubs to coffee shops. I visit often and will be back.

Location was perfect and easy access to popular restaurants, museums and other attractions. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We definitely stay here again. Parking is offsite but convenient. Didn’t enjoy the garage not being part of the hotel but not a deal breaker.

This place is fantastic. I would never stay anywhere else when I come to Austin. It is right in the middle of every big company and every little startup. It is walking distance from every awesome restaurant. I walked from this hotel to Barton Springs Pool and it was just an enormous delight. This hotel is the future of hotels. The hotel was great. Very clean and modern. All workers were very friendly. When I needed assistance with getting around and what to do they helped. The breakfast was convenient so I didn't have to leave the hotel early to go find something only thing I wish they would change up the hot food daily it was the same. The bar and the appetizers/small plates were good.

Stayed for 2 nights and loved it. Location customer service cleanliness the unique designer hands down. Highly recommended going to Zurich and staying at the same hotel. We stayed last summer in Chicago it was amazing experience as well. Great breakfast for a decent price.

The property was beautiful and very easy to access. The breakfast offered at the hotel was not only more affordable than nearby downtown options, but it also had a great variety of choices—I highly recommend it. This stay was perfect for a couple’s getaway. We loved being on the 10th floor, especially with a window view that looked right outside. The pool area was stunning, and the art and overall atmosphere of the hotel were truly impressive. I honestly can’t say anything negative—we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. Spend the extra $50-$70 and go elsewhere. No front desk and no customer service. No direct line to contact the hotel. The hotel decor looks like it escaped the 80’s and didn’t change clothes. Nice people at the bar. No fresh food, not cooked to order, they warm it up. They told me so at the bar. I appreciate their honesty but this was a very poor experience.

The CitizenM concept is basic. It is a comfortable hotel with few amenities, and a quirky ambience. The pool looked to be an afterthought. It is small and used a lot because of the Texas heat. Breakfast was not tasty or very good. Something about the preparation of foods like bacon and sausage in hotels. A miss. Otherwise the colored lighting etc. are cute, but after 5 minutes- meh. The lack of a simple light switch upon entering, and the shade issue closing when you leave is annoying.

I had the best experience with this hotel. Was able to do early check in and late check out, room was very nice and clean, great amenities (I enjoyed the gym and pool). They have very good buffet breakfast.

it's a do it yourself experience and after a long day of travel you just want room service, there was none, and a concierge to help you with information, there was none, no iron in the room, it was a ironing room with practically no lighting and you must stand in line if you want to iron your clothes. Bed is next to window so if there are 2 people, one has to jump over the other one to get out of bed. breakfast eggs were horrible. and that was the only protein for vegetarians. coffee was not good either.

A “never could go wrong” place to stay in downtown area. This hotel is awesome, the room itself is cozy. The location itself is not too far of a walk to 6th street bar district, a 7-Eleven, and Chikfila just to name a few. Unfortunately the biggest inconvenience I personally had is looking for parking spot since I drove, ultimately ended up going to those garages where you receive a ticket at the entry then pay for exiting which adds up quickly. Overall the stay itself was fantastic! The parking is where it can get tricky and be a hassle
