Fabulous setting to Peconic Bay. Beach is walking distance from any room. Beautiful vistas with beach chairs, umbrellas & towels available for all guests. The room decor is so “cool” with retro-vibes of the ‘50s yet includes modern technology & big-screen TV. Convenient eating spots on the premises. And a helpful shuttle service to & from the train by a friendly young driver in a retro station wagon, a great summer getaway!

Recently renovated motel and cabins are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. There’s a restaurant, cafe, and bar with a lovely beach and places to sit all around. Very attentive and friendly staff AND we’ll be back. We travel a lot and this is one of the nicest places we’ve stayed!

The Silver Sands is a diamond on the water overlooking Shelter Island. The renovation of the property is awesome. Tastefully done with a beach theme including the office with a nice bar that you can order drinks. They have cruiser bikes available. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The deck on the beach is a great spot to relax to enjoy the beautiful views. We will definitely return.

Wow! They’ve kept all the vintage charm but updated it with nice amenities and modern conveniences. Live the fire pit with s’mores outside! The desk clerk couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful!

I loved the vintage vibe, the private beach!!, the great customer service (Charlotte, David, Melissa), clean rooms with the best water pressure on a shower/immediate hot water, cute back patio area, attentive housekeeping, on-site dining options, bikes, and proximity to town & other sites. The Silver Sands is just absolutely adorable! The rooms are extremely clean and spacious, it's right on the beach, and they have 2 dining options on the property! We were blown away with the gorgeous private beach that had chairs, umbrellas, and even beach towels. We hope to visit again soon! 10 stars if we could!

We’ve stayed at several properties in the Greenport area and this was our first time at Silver Sands; we loved it! The rooms were updated, clean and cute. The beach access was a huge plus, as well as on site restaurants. They don’t charge for parking (as some hotels nearby are starting to do) and the location is central to Greenport Village and the wineries. We went for an anniversary trip and stayed in the motel section but would definitely come back with the kids and try out the bungalows! Overall great trip and would recommend to others; we will be back!

I have “driven by” this place (sign lol) on the main road SO many times, but not visited. Glad we did finally! Everything was amazing from check in to check out. They maintain the old charm, wonderful staff, amazingly clean and nice, quiet beach to relax with a great view….will definitely be back. Shout out to the staff at Nookies also!

At that price, the room was spot on. We had no complaints, other than perhaps running out of hot water. But otherwise, it was fine and its gots its own lovely beach, so its worth the price tag. That said, at that price, they could have done a bit better to make it really great. 1. Room amenities such as a decent coffee maker and coffer and beverages and snacks in the mini bar would be nice. 2. Check out later than 11am? Please! And they are way too rigid about this, especially since check in is at 3pm and their room cleaners dont really seem to be pressed for time - eg. Our room finally got cleaned around 5pm. 3. Reception staff are friendly enough, but a bit perfunctory and dont seem willing to engage at a 5 star level. 4. In terms of service, their Eddies Oyster was a bit the same. Politely curt and made me wait for 15 minutes to only tell me they had no availability until 2pm. Despite the fact that I was there at noon, and the first one there. Anyway. High prices. Not 5 star, for sure. But nice stay, I suppose. Certainly one of the best and more reasonably priced places for the North Shore and the Hamptons.

Breakfast in the diner was also delicious and fresh. The only problem that we had is that although there were many viewing options on the TV, we could not find our favorite channels on live TV. Could be that we’re just not as tech savvy as we thought.

I felt the regular rooms could use better sound-proofing, would likely opt for a cabin if I stayed again, and the fans were loud when they came on. The patio option was less special than I had hoped, as it looks over parking area. The regular front porch was fine, with nice view of water.

Keifer at the front desk was wonderful. She walked us to our shack and gave us all the info we needed. And when we locked ourselves out at 10 pm, she let us back in with a smile. She was wonderful!

At that price, the room was spot on. We had no complaints, other than perhaps running out of hot water. But otherwise, it was fine and its gots its own lovely beach, so its worth the price tag. That said, at that price, they could have done a bit better to make it really great. 1. Room amenities such as a decent coffee maker and coffer and beverages and snacks in the mini bar would be nice. 2. Check out later than 11am? Please! And they are way too rigid about this, especially since check in is at 3pm and their room cleaners dont really seem to be pressed for time - eg. Our room finally got cleaned around 5pm. 3. Reception staff are friendly enough, but a bit perfunctory and dont seem willing to engage at a 5 star level. 4. In terms of service, their Eddies Oyster was a bit the same. Politely curt and made me wait for 15 minutes to only tell me they had no availability until 2pm. Despite the fact that I was there at noon, and the first one there. Anyway. High prices. Not 5 star, for sure. But nice stay, I suppose. Certainly one of the best and more reasonably priced places for the North Shore and the Hamptons.

Beautiful and peaceful place. Everything was clean and new. The restaurant staff and front desk staff were very friendly. Not sure if they were the owners or the manager, but they were not friendly, actually had a condescending attitude, and made us feel like we were bothering her when we were buying their $80 hoodies. Other than that one person who was asked to help us with the hoodies, everything was perfect and beautiful. Even the food was great! The staff at the restaurant was excellent. I would love to make lifetime of memories here.

I loved the vintage vibe, the private beach!!, the great customer service (Charlotte, David, Melissa), clean rooms with the best water pressure on a shower/immediate hot water, cute back patio area, attentive housekeeping, on-site dining options, bikes, and proximity to town & other sites. Loved it!!

We’ve stayed at several properties in the Greenport area and this was our first time at Silver Sands; we loved it! The rooms were updated, clean and cute. The beach access was a huge plus, as well as on site restaurants. They don’t charge for parking (as some hotels nearby are starting to do) and the location is central to Greenport Village and the wineries. We went for an anniversary trip and stayed in the motel section but would definitely come back with the kids and try out the bungalows! Overall great trip and would recommend to others; we will be back!

We loved staying there. Very cute cottages right in the beach. It is quiet and peaceful. The beach is very nice. Easy access to Greenport and NoFo vineyards. We will return for my GF’s birthday next year!!

This property is a treasure. Think Palm Springs meets Adirondacks. If you are overworked and stressed out this is an ideal spot for relaxing in the summer. Food is exceptionally good. Lounging under the umbrella beach side combined with a refreshing swim makes your dreams come true. Staff members are delightful.

Had the most relaxing stay at Silver Sands. The property was beautiful, the coffee and pastries in the morning were delicious, and had the best meal at Eddy's. Wish they allowed dogs though.

Incredibly appointed little getaway, with wonderful staff and delicious food. The rooms and grounds were modest, but unique and modern. It was the perfect getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary - can't wait to come back!

New, upgraded property. Clean, great staff. Comfortable bed. Small beach access is also great for family. Fresh food at the diner. Delicious drinks at the small bar. All in all, highly recommended. Would go again!

Came here for a sisters trip. We had the best time! The hotel staff was so friendly and genuinely helpful. The onsite restaurant, The Boathouse, was a delicious stop for our first night. The grounds are so pretty. They really did an amazing job renovating the property. The room temperature wasn’t the best as there didn’t seem to have working AC. As much as we loved everything, next time I would request a room other than #12 because it’s sandwiched in between Nookies restaurant and a busy corridor. Small inconvenience for an otherwise perfect weekend.

This is truly a hidden gem in Greenport, NY. It's small and cozy but what was unexpected was they top notch restaurants right on the property. After the first night we only ate here. Can't go wrong at Eddie's or Nookies for dinner! The waitstaff at both places were knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations. John at Nookies was fantastic!
