The inn was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Having hot drinks and a refrigerator available were very nice. The breakfast was delicious, and it was nice to get to chat with other guests around the large table. Our only complaint was that we had hoped to spend time in the living room in the evening, but the record player didn’t work, the selection of games was scanty, and even if we had found a game to play, the lighting in both the living room and dining room was so dim that it would have been difficult to see to play. These slight deficiencies would be easy to correct, and overall this is a very nice place.

The August House is a gem! Beautifully redone centennial building with perfect modern touches. Several common livingrooms, record player, long dining table for eating or work, large common dining room with homemade quick breakfast. Extra large parking lot beside the house, easy entrance access, front steps were decorated for fall, our room was cozy and perfect for our needs. I loved that there was a small kitchen area with fridge, coffee maker, dishes for our use. Intamite touches upon arrival made us feel special (personalized note and delicious shortbread cookies). Any questions we had were answered right away. I will be staying here every time I come to the area (we were visiting Wolfville). It is worth every penny ❤️

Highly recommend August House. The rooms in this heritage home are clean and beautiful with a minimalist, pine aesthetic. The breakfast is buffet with local bread, granola, berries, scrambled eggs, etc. The staff are very helpful. There is a sauna and several shared spaces. The rooms have no TV. The bed was very comfortable and the tub was deep.

The breakfast is buffet with local bread, granola, berries, scrambled eggs, etc. The staff are very helpful. There is a sauna and several shared spaces. The rooms have no TV. Room (#1) was amazing- very large with a sitting area, high ceilings and comfortable bed. Air conditioning worked and parking was easy. There was a personal welcome note with a couple of treats. They even had free icecream sandwiches sticked in the freezer in the common area- who does that?! Breakfast was fine. I can’t think of any negatives- maybe just a note of caution- the toiletries in the bathroom are in glass bottles that can get a little slippery. Yes, I realize how nitpicky that sounds. I wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the August house and the area!

We booked the Best King Room which had a private sunroom with a kitchenette. Every detail was thought of when designing this room as well as the common areas of the house. Our short stay was perfect. We wouldn’t change a thing (but maybe to stay longer if we visit again).

I recently had the pleasure of staying one night at this charming boutique hotel, and it was an exceptional experience. The property was beautiful and thoughtfully designed. They have cozy fire pits outside that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. They even provided kits for s’mores, which the kids absolutely loved! The room was immaculate—super clean, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. They really thought out every detail when designing this hotel. Very clean, modern and charming. I appreciated the small touches, including the Nespresso and the white noise machine. (If all the doors could be oiled it would make it even better as the quarters are pretty tightly packed so you hear everything)

Incredible guest house with several rooms, many common spaces including a common room with a record player and an amazing selection of vinyl records. Rooms seem recenrly remodeled, very functional, nice bed (soft). There was a community fridge with ice available, and ice pops, as well as nespresso coffee and milks for the morning. Plus, they serve the a full continental breakfast (homemade granola, yogurt, fixings, hardboiled eggs, salami, procuito, cheese, toast, etc, juice coffee) in this large hall. The grounds have lots of places ro sit and a gas fire ring. A great place to stay!

Extremely clean, which I loved. The rooms were lovely and the fact that they were so clean made me feel very comfortable. We rented the suite (double rooms) to accommodate my two teenage children and it was perfect. Lots of room for everyone! I’ll recommend the August House to my friends and colleagues.

This is my new number 1 favorite place to stay. Let me start with my most important point - cleanliness, this place is immaculate, very nicely renovated, very well thought out/planned, down to every detail, the flooring, everything. I love the contactless check in. Makes it very easy especially if you will be arriving late, no need to meet a deadline arrival. Communication is great. I got a text with all the specifics I needed. Now time for breakfast. The most amazing food I have ever had at any hotel. Homemade GF/DF granola, local sourdough bread. The quality and flavor of everything was superb. The staff were so friendly. The dining area was beautiful. The whole place has such a warm and cozy/homey feel to it. I went with my daughter and she absolutely oved it too. We are now going to make this a yearly trip of ours because it was so wonderful!

This was a wonderful stay. We did find everything 5 star. The one thing was the lack of space to put your items. The king bed took up.most of our space. Once our luggage was stowed on the luggage racks, there was a single small dresser on which to put toiletries, etc. A small first wirld problem, lol.

Hele grote moderne kamer. Alles heel netjes. Auto moet je aan de zijkant parkeren. Ontbijt was ook erg lekker, maar geen warm ontbijt. Op loopafstand van het centrum, maar niet een hele fijne buurt.

After coming down to eat breakfast at 10h10 , though it was 10h30 the cut off time…the person there just said sorry we are done at 10h00. She had plates full of food that she could have offered to us or even a cup of coffee…but instead just smiled ans said sorry breakfast is over. To me that is not customer service. If everything would have been cleaned no worries, but it just looked like she wanted to get it done and too bad for you.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay in the wine region of Nova Scotia. We had the one king in the sunny bedroom and it was absolutely gorgeous! The hard wood floors were so nice and the recently remodeled bathroom was very modern, clean, and spacious. Aside from the cleanliness, comfort, and beauty of the Inn and the room we stayed in, the staff (while not always present due to the contactless check-in/out) was very responsive when I had to text about a few questions we had. They got back to me right away and were very polite and helpful in their response. You can tell they take so much pride in keeping their Inn in excellent condition and comfortable and pleasant for their guests. Additionally, the free breakfast they offered was homemade and very delicious (and I'm not a breakfast person!). I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I'm ever in the area again.

Phenomenal staff, really felt pampered at breakfast. Staff are very attentive and kind, approachable with any questions or services we required. The barrier free stateroom is inn excellence. Extremely pictureque, amazing decor and extremely clean. Great stay.

We had a wonderful time. The owners were extremely helpful and very friendly. They send suggestions of places to visit that we followed up on and they met our needs for exploring the area. We felt right at home and were very comfortable in this beautiful house. We would strongly recommend The August House to all our friends and family.

Wonderful stay at The August House! Our renovated room was comfy and cosy and the bathroom was gorgeous. Loved the thoughtful touches throughout the house including ice cream sandwiches in the kitchenette fridge! The hosts were super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We found August House while planning to visit family in town. It was very conveniently located and easy to find. The decor was very cozy, beautiful, clean and thoughtful. It was such a pleasure coming home to this relaxing location at the end of our busy days. It is a shame we couldn’t stay for longer. Everything was so perfect, including the wonderful breakfast!

booked on a whim needing some place close to Halifax and am now looking for an excuse to go back! the whole space is a perfect balance of historic details and contemporary comfort. super clean. and the soaking tub was worth the splurge on a slightly more expensive room. the breakfast is modest, but amazing (think still warm scones and house-made yogurt parfait rather than trays of bacon and eggs). i was also 'that guest' with some problems with my dates and check-in on my end and the staff were amazing at resolving everything with ease and creativity. finally there's some great eating in Windsor, it was another unexpected surprise!

After coming down to eat breakfast at 10h10 , though it was 10h30 the cut off time…the person there just said sorry we are done at 10h00. She had plates full of food that she could have offered to us or even a cup of coffee…but instead just smiled ans said sorry breakfast is over. To me that is not customer service. If everything would have been cleaned no worries, but it just looked like she wanted to get it done and too bad for you.

Highly recommend August House. The rooms in this heritage home are clean and beautiful with a minimalist, pine aesthetic. The breakfast is buffet with local bread, granola, berries, scrambled eggs, etc. The staff are very helpful. There is a sauna and several shared spaces. The rooms have no TV. The bed was very comfortable and the tub was deep.

Incredible guest house with several rooms, many common spaces including a common room with a record player and an amazing selection of vinyl records. Rooms seem recenrly remodeled, very functional, nice bed (soft). There was a community fridge with ice available, and ice pops, as well as nespresso coffee and milks for the morning. Plus, they serve the a full continental breakfast (homemade granola, yogurt, fixings, hardboiled eggs, salami, procuito, cheese, toast, etc, juice coffee) in this large hall. The grounds have lots of places ro sit and a gas fire ring. A great place to stay!

This was a beautiful inn and so welcoming, right down to the personalized hand written welcome note that was waiting for us. Really enjoyed the breakfast in the morning as well. Would highly recommend staying here!

Erstklassig! Mit viel Liebe und Persönlichkeit geschaffenes Hotel mit sehr schönem Frühstück. Zeitgemäße Einrichtung , problemloses Einchecken , sehr gepflegt und schön hergerichtetes Haus aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Ich kann es jedem nur weiterempfehlen!

We stayed in Room 7, a big beautiful room with a comfy King bed. There were two luggage racks and a rack on the wall for our hanging clothes. We had a view. The bathroom is also beautiful and large, well appointed with towels, robes, soaps, even bath salts. The tub was sparkling clean and new looking. The house is a large Victorian, fully renovated with modern appointments, like matching hardware throughout. Decorated in a warm, comfortable, beautiful style with every detail in sync. There were several common rooms where we sat and chatted with other guests. There was an open kitchenette outside our room with coffee, snacks, and a full fridge for our leftovers. We didn't take advantage of the saunas or the waffle robes, but it was nice to see them available. Breakfast was baked oatmeal with spiced yogurt, fruit and granola on top. Fresh baked bread, with butter and jam, too. The coffee was good.

This was honestly the best place I have ever stayed anywhere in Canada. The whole house has been renovated with care, with beautiful common areas and comfortable, clean room. I especially loved the bathroom decor, and have to specially mention that the bed had an actual duvet and a duvet cover instead of just a flat sheet and a blanket (although I think those would have been an option too, as it seemed every request you might possibly have was already considered and extra amenities available). I wish we could have used the sauna, but unfortunately our short stay did not allow for that. But we made sure not to miss the breakfast, which was amazing! The scrambled eggs were to die for, and the fresh local strawberries were super sweet. We'll definately come back if we're ever back to Windsor!
