The Sliema Suites

Small, boutique apart-hotel centrally located in a quiet and charismatic part of Sliema. Sliema’s main shopping areas and the waterfront promenade (for the water taxi to Valletta), Balutta Bay or St. Julian’s/Paceville are all easily reachable by foot within a 15-30 minutes. We had a car and always found (free) parking in the streets around, never more than 100m away. All staff encountered were exceptionally friendly and responsive. Yes, the pool on rooftop is small but it does the trick of cooling you off after a day out and though there’s really only enough room for 6-8 people at a time we never encountered more than 2-3. Highly recommend.

Room had everything we needed and was cleaned every day. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the pool on the roof was beautiful but it is a small unheated pool. Great stay. Would recommend.

Pros - lovely apartment, incredibly clean, hotel staff super helpful, PIN code entrance made sharing the apartment very easy. Cons - definitely not the sea view we paid for, the pool is incredibly small, and only 6 loungers. Our balcony never had the sun. Overall lovely apartment if you are after a base for a city break. I would not boon this again if I wanted a more chill by the pool holiday.

A clean, new place with a cute little rooftop pool (with great views of the area), a lift servicing all floors and friendly, accommodating staff. Rooms were really big, immaculate and I appreciated they had a separate bin for recycling. Fridge, tea and coffee was provided. Aircon worked a treat, water pressure was good and WiFi worked well. (The latter 3 things are often a challenge in Malta!) the basement rooms have a courtyard too which was a bonus. I’d definitely stay again.

We had one of the best hotel experiences at The Sliema Suites! The staff, especially Karent, was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with a clear sense of thought and purpose behind every detail. They also offer a basement canteen, showers and secure baggage lockers for guests to use after check-out.. perfect if you have a late flight. It’s such a thoughtful touch that really enhances the experience. And the rooftop pool? Absolutely stunning!

As I used to live close by to Balluta Bay in the 1960s this location was perfect and a blast from the past. Our Sliema Suite was brilliant and the pool on the roof with its panoramic view across to Valletta and St Julian’s a massive bonus. Wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

The apartment was new and spotless. The service was exceptional, polite and professional - especially on the last day when after checking out, we could take a shower and use their refreshments. Check in was also easy despite no staff being around as the whole process is well planned and communication good. However, reception is only staffed from 10am til 5pm so if there are issues, these do not get resolved easily, eg we had no TV for a couple of days despite reporting it twice. Also the pool is very tiny, more of a hot tub size, and only open during reception hours, so was not a replacement for the beach.

Based on reviews this hotel did not meet my expectations. No towels provided at pool. Limited chairs at pool. Water was only provided for first day. No options for breakfast. 15 minutes walking to main areas and dining which isn’t a lot but challenging in August heat. I would recommend staying closer to the water if staying in Silema.

Really great apartment building, the room was very modern and spacious. Felt like a little home away from home. It was disappointing there was a time limit on the pool and it does get loud with doors slamming/people moving in different rooms but generally on a quiet street so it wasn’t too disruptive. It’s not super central so keep that in mind you will need to walk a bit to get to the main places around Sliema.

Impeccably clean suite and comfortable bed. Perfect place to rest and reset.

Hotel was new and rooms were great. Loved the fridge and little stove to cook on. Very nice when you didn’t feel like going out or were in a hurry in the morning. That said. When we first arrived it was after 3:00, which was check in time, our room was not ready. When we entered it had clearly not been cleaned from the previous guest. Since it was after hours and no one was at reception I had to call the emgency number, no answer. A young man shortly approached us said the room was not ready and it would be an hour before it was. So we waited. On check out day we received a phone call at 11:05 to remind us that we were suppose to be out by 11:00. No patience when it was us 5 minutes late but we showed patience when we had an hour wait. It was advertised that they had laundry facilities, which were clearly in view. When asked to use them was told it was not for guests and was shown a map on how to walk to one. This was one of the reasons for picking The Sliema Suites because we knew we would need to wash our clothes during our stay. So it was disappointing when we had to carry our laundry to a facility and then pay for it. The roof top pool was beautiful but was always locked by 5:00. It would have be nice to come back after a day of site seeing to enjoy a soak in the pool. Upon leaving was never told thank you for staying with them, never asked if we had enjoyed our stay. Just felt like we had been an inconvenience. Beautiful place but was disappointing.

Very nice place to stay in Sliema. Quiet place, very clean room, not far from shops and restaurants. Rooms are cleaned daily and there's a small pool on the roof.

A really nice and clean place to stay in sliema. We stayed in a room with sea view and terrace and can recommend it without any doubt. We will definitely come back the next time we are in Malta.

The only downside was that we booked a balcony room and on arrival we noticed there was no balcony, only a tiny window. Couldn't find anyone to talk to. Apartment was very basic and lacking in warmth. Entrance is lovely and grand, but disappointed when we reached our room, it felt quite sterile. The view is of other buildings, so not ideal if you're after a scenic outlook. Good location as far as distance to the ocean, and lovely rooftop pool. Never saw/met any staff on site, self checked in.

I booked in a few days after this hotel was first opened I can’t say enough- the hotel is bran new and its modern from the reception area all the way through. The rooms are immaculate and modern - kitchen was a modern clean beautiful area with lovely new cutlery. Amazing sofa bed very luxurious . Clean bran new fridge freezer. bedroom was amazing good size air con and comfy clean bed .bedroom had a double glazed door leading to balcony and so did the kitchen. Bathroom was spotless very modern and beautiful. Balcony was just beautiful , view of the sea in distance. Morning views with coffee was amazing sitting in the sun . Very spacious inside and out. Don’t forget to try the roof top pool amazing views . Staff are very polite and professional and very helpful . Cameras in places they should be for extra safety and a polite security guild At reception all through the night when reception staff are not there . Minutes from all store’s restaurants and sea . Will definitely come again and rate it a good 10/10 . Thank you for the amazing stay 😊

Fantastic location easily located to walk to the ferry crossing and to the heart of sliema or travel to valette. Beautiful building on quite residential street and easy late arrival procedure. Room was a little noisy when other guests came back late at night with loud pin code and door shutting but otherwise a lovely place to stay. Even better if there was hanging space for clothes, plenty of shelves but not hanging room. Iron was available on request but no ironing board. Hair dryer was good and powerful.

We chose to travel at the end of the season meaning it was slightly less busy. The location was great and having access to the pool was an added bonus. Cleaning on one of the days wasn't done until after 5pm which was slightly inconvenient when trying to get ready but other than that zero complaints. The bed is a sofa bed but we were happy with the level of comfort.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The staff were so kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience feel extra special. The service was excellent, and the location couldn’t be better — everything was close by and it was super easy to get to the restaurant. Such a comfortable and friendly place, I’d definitely come back!

Sliema Suites was perfect. Jessica and Joan made my stay very comfortable and they were so nice, friendly and accommodating. The accommodation is new. It is beautiful clean and safe with a night guard. It was also convenient with the bus stop nearby and a short walk down to the restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay with Sliema Suites that i not only extended my stay once, but twice!! I will definitely come back to stay with them.

Loved staying at the Sliema Suites. The location was great for us to explore Malta. The facilities were great and having a kitchen was handy. Very attentive staff especially as we had after hours check in and check out. Would definitely stay again.

Avis : J’ai passé un excellent séjour dans cet appart-hôtel situé dans un quartier calme de Sliema. L’hôtel est très bien équipé et offre un environnement paisible, idéal pour se reposer. La chambre était impeccable et nettoyée tous les jours, un vrai plus pour un séjour confortable. La petite piscine sur le toit est un vrai atout, parfaite pour se détendre après une journée de visites. Le personnel est très accueillant et à l’écoute, toujours prêt à répondre aux besoins des clients. L’emplacement est également parfait : à quelques pas des arrêts de bus et à seulement 10 minutes à pied du ferry pour La Valette, ce qui rend les déplacements très pratiques. Je recommande fortement cet appart-hôtel, c’est une adresse où je retournerai sans hésiter lors de mon prochain séjour à Malte !

Hôtel bien situé dans une rue calme, à 15min à pied du centre ville de Sliema et à 5min de la baie de St Julien. Literie confortable et logement bien équipé (bien qu’il manque quelques petites choses comme une cafetière par exemple).

Das Hotel hat uns insgesamt sehr gut gefallen. Der Service war ausgesprochen zuvorkommend, das Personal stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind modern eingerichtet und verfügen über alles, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt braucht. Die Lage ist ideal – in nur 5 bis 10 Minuten erreicht man den Strand, und auch Restaurants und Geschäfte. Was uns ein wenig gestört hat, war die Hellhörigkeit der Zimmer. Man hat leider recht viel von den Nachbarn mitbekommen, was manchmal etwas störend war. Trotzdem würden wir das Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.
