The front desk person was not on duty when we arrived, but had left a letter letting us know which room was ours. The key was in the room. We were up on the hill, which was a bit awkward since where you parked was tilted. The left hand railing was loose goi g up the stairs. The room is simple with no amenities, in the lobby is a shared microwave, ice machine, and fridge. There is a marker and tape for you to mark your things in the fridge so other guests know it’s yours, The room was clean. The bed was VERY comfortable and the sheets were really soft. During the three day stay, the room was not cleaned. I am guessing we were supposed to put any sheets or towels outside the room to be changed.

A truly unique check-in: a sheet of paper with “Welcome” handwritten, the door is open and your key is in the room. Never saw a single human being. The room was great, rather on the small side, few amenities, but comfortable.

We loved the simplicity of the motel, the location, and the access to the office refridgerator and ice machine. Staff was wonderful. We'd definitely stay there again.

Mid-town Motel was totally fine for my purpose: an economical place to sleep while in Boothbay Harbor for a wedding. People who are looking for a hotel/motel that has amenities or is a comfortable place to hang out will be disappointed. It in conveniently located to Boothbay attractions.

This motel was perfect for our stay. The room was small but charming. Coffee is available in the office which they keep open for guests and the trolly stops at the motel and will take you on a guided tour of the area or just save you some walking. The shower is very small and I recommend you bring your own soap but other than that this place is perfect for a romantic get away to Boothbay

This place was perfect! It was so quaint and like stepping back in time. The grounds are beautiful! The (free) parking is right outside your door. The bed and linens are so comfortable! The staff is so, so friendly! The location could not be better. I stayed 2 nights. Once I parked, I didnt drive until I checked out. The center of town is only 2-3 blocks away, a short, easy, 3-minute walk. I will absolutely stay here again! I loved it!!!

I enjoyed my stay at the Mid-town Motel. Charming appearance on the outside of each room. The room was intentionally vintage, but also clean and comfortable. The shower was very small and could use some updating. I didn't like having to go to the office for coffee, microwave, fridge (especially the coffee!), but they had nice appliances in the office. Easy walk to Boothbay Harbor.

A GREAT place to hang your hat in Boothbay Harbor. Two minute walk to the town and wharf. A family owned place for decades. No..there isn't a microwave or fridge..but those are in the office and its open all the time...the towels are thick..the beds are comfortable....the staff friendly...the price is right.....what else do you need?

Excellent location to all there is to do in Boothbay Harbor. Easy check-in. Easy parking. 1950’s hotel feel with everything you would expect from a hotel today. This being said, the bathroom is very small. A larger person may find it challenging.

No housekeeping service. AC was too noisy to have on while sleeping and there was a gap in the wall so outside air could get in, defeating the purpose of the AC. Had to kill a cockroach. Would never stay here again.

Property is very dated with old colonial style furniture, though my king bed was super comfy. No refrigerator in the room. The tiny shower stall in the tiny bathroom had a horribly stained, moldy shower curtain which I had to ask twice for a replacement. I’m pretty sure the staff would not tolerate such a shower curtain in their home, still it seemed like an excessive request. Then the bathroom sink plumbing failed and I spent 3 of my precious vacation hours waiting for a plumber (they insisted I be present) only to be moved to another motel they own in the area since the sink issue could not be resolved. I ended up just cutting my vacation short. It was very unpleasant and I do not recommend this motel. The manager was very defensive about issues instead of admitting it was not up to par.

Can’t beat the location! Never saw anyone in the office—they just left a note on our room number and said key was in the room. Room smelled musty and there was black mold around the shower. I bought Fantastic and a brush to clean shower and we ran A/C for smell. It was ok after we sprayed and aired it. We’d stay there again.

Such a lovely surprise to find high end bedding, towels and toiletries in this sweet, unassuming motel ! Yes, it's "old" but very well maintained, clean and comfortable. I haven't slept so well when travelling in a very long time, I should have asked about the pillows and mattress so I can sleep that well at home. The owner was also very kind and friendly when I popped in to brew a coffee in the morning. So convenient within walking distance of the entire downtown. We will return anytime we visit Boothbay Harbor !!

Nice 1950's theme outside with flowers and parking. 2 block walk into town. Check-in host was very nice. Nice king size bed. Unfortunately the carpet was quite dirty and the room had an old smell like it had not had a thorough cleaning in a very long time. I would only stay again for the ability to walk into town.

I loved this little motel. It reminded me of traveling with my parents back in the '50s and '60s before the big chain hotels took over. Don't expect luxury.. It's not that kind of a place. Think knotty pine paneling and bathrooms with green tiles. The beds were very very comfortable and it's literally a 2-minute walk into town. One thing to note... Rooms 8 through 11 are on a bit of a hill and could be a problem for somebody with mobility issues so worth a mention.

Very cute and frozen in time in a way I really like. Wish they had room darkening curtains. I don’t want to wake up at 5 am on vacation. Also the air conditioner was so loud I couldn’t sleep with it on.

Truely 50s motel. The room was in good condition, but no place for open luggage. Not enough leg room to sit on the toilet, had to sit at an angle. Ran out of hot water. Also, checked in after 5PM. Note on office to use PIN and open lock-box to get room key. Did not have PIN, called number on office door, mailbox full, sent 3 text messages with no response. Finally got lock-box from another room occupant. After further checking, found that I did get a text message from the motel earlier with the PIN code.

Location was great. Property could definitely use an update, even a paint job. Bathroom was so small my knees hit the wall when using bathroom. Shower was gross. Wouldn’t stay again.

The place was exactly what it said it was, “a 1950’s Motel.” Thankfully, it had some upgrades to deal with modern technology, Smart TV and USB ports. The bathroom, however, was uncomfortably small, made it difficult to sit correctly on the toilet. Other than that, we had nice stay.

I booked a room for my 80 yr old parents for their 40th wedding anniversary. My mother has extreme difficulty with stairs, so under the special instructions, I wrote that they needed a room with NO stairs, which was completely ignored & it was never communicated to me in all the correspondences leading up to their trip, that they could not fulfill the request, or I most definately would have cancelled & reserved somewhere that could accommodate.Their room was up 2 flights of stone steps, and besides that, the only coffee pot was located back down the stairs in the lobby. My parents drove 3 hours for what was to be a 2 night stay and only stayed 1 night due to the lack of accommodations. Myself & the booking agency I reserved through have both attempted to reach out to the hotel in hopes to at least get the 2nd night refunded since my parents didnt stay, but have gotten no response, no apology for the negligence of heeding the special instructions, and no attempt to reach a fair resolution. Lack of attention to detail, lack of communication & lack of care for elderly patrons in my opinion.

The owners continue the decades-old tradition of offering a quaint, comfortable motel with a 1950's feel, at very reasonable prices. The staff is always very friendly, accommodating, helpful in many ways. The location is superb, set within a minute or two walk from the center of Boothbay Harbor. Mid-Town Motel has become a cherished place for visitors who have been returning for years.
The owners continue the decades-old tradition of offering a quaint, comfortable motel with a 1950's feel, at very reasonable prices. The staff is always very friendly, accommodating, helpful in many ways. The location is superb, set within a minute or two walk from the center of Boothbay Harbor. Mid-Town Motel has become a cherished place for visitors who have been returning for years.

THANK YOU!! I enjoyed my stay. This time it was only one day, but next time it will be longer. The staff was very friendly and polite. The room was clean and fresh scent. It would be awesome if there were small refrigerators in the rooms. I LOVE the atmosphere and the timeless charm. Thank you for not making it modern and commercialized. I am looking forward to my next stay.

Room is cute and location is convenient. Room service was nonexistent, we asked for new towels, the girl smiles and nods to me. We go out for the day and come back, she emptied the trash, that was it. The shower pressure was horrendous!! The beds are comfortable.

Truely 50s motel. The room was in good condition, but no place for open luggage. Not enough leg room to sit on the toilet, had to sit at an angle. Ran out of hot water. Also, checked in after 5PM. Note on office to use PIN and open lock-box to get room key. Did not have PIN, called number on office door, mailbox full, sent 3 text messages with no response. Finally got lock-box from another room occupant. After further checking, found that I did get a text message from the motel earlier with the PIN code.

I would have liked to see a human in the office at some point during the day. When I rang the bell on the desk, there was no response. One of the cleaning staff was very helpful, and resolved 2 issues I found with the room. The bathroom was sub-par. Tiny. The shower is the size of one in a small RV. Best thing about the place was the location.

The room was clean and tastefully decorated and furnished. The manager was friendly and helpful. However, there was no one there to check me in and frequently there was no one available if help was needed, just a number to call the office. Also, there was a problem with the toilet - it on occasion would not flush.

This place was perfect! It was so quaint and like stepping back in time. The grounds are beautiful! The (free) parking is right outside your door. The bed and linens are so comfortable! The staff is so, so friendly! The location could not be better. I stayed 2 nights. Once I parked, I didnt drive until I checked out. The center of town is only 2-3 blocks away, a short, easy, 3-minute walk. I will absolutely stay here again! I loved it!!!

Excellent location to all there is to do in Boothbay Harbor. Easy check-in. Easy parking. 1950’s hotel feel with everything you would expect from a hotel today. This being said, the bathroom is very small. A larger person may find it challenging.

The front desk person was not on duty when we arrived, but had left a letter letting us know which room was ours. The key was in the room. We were up on the hill, which was a bit awkward since where you parked was tilted. The left hand railing was loose goi g up the stairs. The room is simple with no amenities, in the lobby is a shared microwave, ice machine, and fridge. There is a marker and tape for you to mark your things in the fridge so other guests know it’s yours, The room was clean. The bed was VERY comfortable and the sheets were really soft. During the three day stay, the room was not cleaned. I am guessing we were supposed to put any sheets or towels outside the room to be changed.

This motel was perfect for our stay. The room was small but charming. Coffee is available in the office which they keep open for guests and the trolly stops at the motel and will take you on a guided tour of the area or just save you some walking. The shower is very small and I recommend you bring your own soap but other than that this place is perfect for a romantic get away to Boothbay

I enjoyed my stay at the Mid-town Motel. Charming appearance on the outside of each room. The room was intentionally vintage, but also clean and comfortable. The shower was very small and could use some updating. I didn't like having to go to the office for coffee, microwave, fridge (especially the coffee!), but they had nice appliances in the office. Easy walk to Boothbay Harbor.

A GREAT place to hang your hat in Boothbay Harbor. Two minute walk to the town and wharf. A family owned place for decades. No..there isn't a microwave or fridge..but those are in the office and its open all the time...the towels are thick..the beds are comfortable....the staff friendly...the price is right.....what else do you need?

The owner/manager was v helpful & friendly during reservations, answering all my questions. She also provides a nice list of restaurants as well as a city map. This motel is what it says it is: a retro, 1960's no frills, roadside motel. I wanted a reasonably-priced motel within walking distance of the harbor as I was going on a boat trip & didn't want to hassle with parking in a Maine tourist town in summer & this motel has a great location, just uphill from the harbor. The 2-twin bed room was sparkling clean but still had a slight musty smell but it was not offensive, sort of a "old house" smell.. The small bathroom was fine for me as I'm petite but a large person might find it confining/awkward. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms but guests are allowed to use the refrigerator/freezer, coffee machine & microwave in the office that is left open 24/7. The motel/grounds are small so this wasn't really a big inconvenience. About my only complaint is the thin walls between rooms. I lucked out my first night & had quiet neighbors but the 2nd night, loud snoring next door woke me up & even with a white noise machine plus ear plugs, it was hard to block it out but I'm a v light sleeper. I would consider staying here again as it was more reasonably-priced for the area & it was great not to have to hassle with parking, much of which was $10/day or more.

Motel assez tranquille et pratique pour ce qui est de ce rendre dans le village de boothbay Harbor , 5 min a pied , le motel est vieux mais propre ! parcontre a mon arriver , il y avais personne a la réception , donc pas évident pour avoir la clé de la chambre !

The room had inadequate space for suitcases, the bathroom was painfully small and the shower was difficult to even stand in. Disappointing! also the sound insulation between rooms was very poor!
