The listing is exactly as described, located in a peaceful and secluded area just a short drive from Mariposa. The property was clean, and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything needed for cooking. One note is that the queen bed is quite elevated, which might be a bit challenging for shorter individuals to get in and out of. That said, it was a great stay overall, especially for the price!

Sweet little 2 bedroom 1 bath with a nice kitchen and all the essentials. Town isn't far if you forget something but the kitchen has the basic cookware, like pots and pans - we stayed in and cooked the whole time we were there. The property is amazing and the wildflowers were beautiful during our stay. Cloudy skies so we didn't get a chance to use the telescope, which came with a lengthy manual for use. Overall, absolutely beautiful, wonderful place, and we want to return. I noticed a previous visitor had stayed 12 days here and wondered what they did the whole time, but after just a few hours in this slice of paradise, I understood. We hiked Hetch Hetchy valley during our stay, which was about 1 hr 45 mins away, but not much is close in the mountains so no point in complaining about it. Just know what you're in for and enjoy the ride.

Lovely property in a quiet area, only 10 minutes drive from Mariposa and an hour’s drive from the El Portal Gate to the stunning Yosemite National Park. Great facilities and thanks for the lovely pack of nibbles on arrival.

This was our home base for a couple days at Yosemite, and my only regret is that we didn\'t allocate enough time to stargaze in the evenings! The cabin itself is clean (we only saw a couple spiders, nothing else) and has all the essentials (nothing fancy, but very serviceable). We enjoyed the snack basket and the convenience of having a washer and dryer available. The telescope in the cabin looks pretty nice, but we wore ourselves out exploring Yosemite so we didn\'t have energy in the evenings to try to figure out how to set up and use the telescope. The other house on the property apparently has use of the little observatory we could see, so maybe next time we\'ll try to book that rental instead! Water saving tip: the water faucet in the shower is flipped so if you want hot water you gotta turn it to what is usually labelled "cold". Be prepared for dark roads at night! Appreciated that the turnoff to the house was marked with a lit sign. :) The bed in the master bedroom is quite high, so take care while getting down. Was lovely to wake up to the sound of birds and not much else in the morning, and the quiet at night was refreshing. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The house is simply delightful and clean. The Wi-Fi is fast and the air is crisp! We had everything we needed. Mariposa is a close town and the park is just an hour away. Do you love stars? This is the place for you to stay. The dome in the front isn’t authorized for use, but the fact that it is there let’s you know the star gazing is no joke. The telescope is for guests to use, it’s a great addition.

Clean house that was easy to find. The driveway has some bumps and dibbits which might make for challenging drive up after rain. Beds were very soft (too soft for my liking) but ample pillows made up for that. Lots of camping chairs outside were perfect for looking at the really amazing night sky Kitchen was missing a few cooking essentials but I've passed that on to the host so hopefully that will be taken care of. Overall a very pleasant place for me and my friend and our two dogs to hang out for a few days

The host, Mike, responded in good time and ensured we had what we needed. My mom got to see the night sky she remembered from her teenage years. We will absolutely keep this property in mind for future vacations. Mom said this is one of her top three houses she has ever stayed at.

What a wonderful home. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch with the beautiful views and listening to all the birds. We even had a hummingbird come by twice during our stay!! The beds were comfortable and the house was very clean. Overall an enjoyable stay!

We had a wonderful time here. The property is private, quiet, convenient, laid back, clean, and roomy. Mike was very helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed stargazing at night and slept well. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Awesome cabin, bigger in person for sure. A great place to stay out of the hustle and bustle of town even though you’re only 10mins out. Super clean and has everything you need! Michael is an awesome host and runs a great property!

I want to leave a positive review because of how quick Mike (the host) was in responding as well as the overall location and openness to allow our dog last minute, but I have to mention that the place did have its problems. The beds were all uncomfortable, especially the larger bed sandwiching us in with how sunken and used it was (we're both very light by the way). We also stumbled upon a few hornets and baby scorpions inside when we entered which was concerning considering we had a dog with us. Aside from that, we did enjoy the property and stargazing, along with folks driving by in vintage cars, waving hello to us from the highway. The host Mike was very receptive and responsive to our concerns after the stay and he promised to fix the issues for upcoming travelers, so hopefully all is handled by the time you arrive at this getaway! Nearby town and lots of charm around :)

Wow, what an excellent place! So quiet. Occasional car passing overnight, but very peaceful and a reasonable distance to Yosemite. Place was extremely clean (I think the cleanest bnb I’ve ever been), no weird smells or anything. Well laid out space too. Mike was very responsive and helpful. Very private and absolutely want to stay again!

Very cozy and quaint cabin that is well stocked w/ great wifi with no drop out and basic satellite channels. Host very responsive.Pro's: Very quiet stream on the side of the cabin that was perfect for walking with our puppies. Not too much bugs and didn't see any wildlife.

We enjoyed the property overall, but don't let all the photos draw you completely in. The area is less green, and by the looks of it, all that green is relatively short lived. Second bedroom beds are mediocre at best. Young kids may be able to handle them, but if you way over 100 pounds it is a tough sleep. Fruit fly control challenging, but that is the area this time of year. We liked it, but a little more attention to detail would make it a 5 instead of 4 star.

The property was as described and the place was peaceful and relaxing. Bedding in the twin room could use an upgrade as we had adults sleeping there. We used it as a base for visiting Yosemite, howevere the ride to the park took much longer than expected (about 2 hours each way). It was a major drawback to the stay such that we left one day early due to the drive, especially on the twisting roads at night.

We had such a memorable time here. The cabin has games and movies to entertain the kids which we appreciate. The telescope is so cool, we had cloudy sky’s and couldn’t use it but plan on returning and getting some use of it. Mike is extremely responsive. Overall 5 star experience!
We had such a memorable time here. The cabin has games and movies to entertain the kids which we appreciate. The telescope is so cool, we had cloudy sky’s and couldn’t use it but plan on returning and getting some use of it. Mike is extremely responsive. Overall 5 star experience!

We stayed at this rental during our family vacation to Yosemite. This was the perfect place, it had all the amenities that we needed, and the location was great. We loved staying in a place that provided privacy, and easy accessibility to get to the park or Mariposa. They do a great job of keeping the bugs to a minimum! The host was great at communication. We would recommend this rental to others and would use it again on a return visit.

We had interaction with guy called Mike and he seems to be super rude at the first night when we were stuck in finding the address since there was no actual road which will lead to a property.It was dusty and sleepry road which was tough to reach to the actual property.Guy Mike was highly unprofessional we were late 5-10 minutes to leave the property not more than that but that guy entered into bedroom forcefully while I was fixing my clothes.It was highly inappropriate since we did communicate to him that we are 10 minutes late hence please bear with us but without letting us know he opened the bedroom backdoor by his own keys despite the fact it was lock from the inside.I would never recommend this property to anyone not only because of this guy but also the location this property exists in nowhere land.

The house was everything it was advertised to be. Quite location, beautiful night sky with access to a telescope, clean house, and well stocked. The host, Mike, responded in good time and ensured we had what we needed. My mom got to see the night sky she remembered from her teenage years. We will absolutely keep this property in mind for future vacations. Mom said this is one of her top three houses she has ever stayed at.

Lovely property in a quiet area, only 10 minutes drive from Mariposa and an hour’s drive from the El Portal Gate to the stunning Yosemite National Park. Great facilities and thanks for the lovely pack of nibbles on arrival.

It’s a nice little two bedroom house. Even though it’s on Hwy 49 it’s a very quiet place because there’s just not much traffic on the road. It’s 10 miles north of Mariposa which is a fun gold mine era town.

Wow, what an excellent place! So quiet. Occasional car passing overnight, but very peaceful and a reasonable distance to Yosemite. Place was extremely clean (I think the cleanest bnb I’ve ever been), no weird smells or anything. Well laid out space too. Mike was very responsive and helpful. Very private and absolutely want to stay again!

Listing is exactly as described. Perfect place to stay with kids and pets to get away from LA. Close to the highway, but not enough traffic for it to be an issue. About an hour's drive to Yosemite via El Portal.

Great place in a great location. Place was very quiet and near Yosemite and other places of interest. Owner was very courteous and communicated great with us. Would definitely stay again.

The place was very nice and secluded, we were a little skeptical of the location but when we got there it wasn't as bad as we thought, there was also another Cabin in the property that other people were also staying at. The place was very clean the only thing it could've maybe used was an air freshener. Other than that the location of the property was very convenient, it was 10 minutes away to the nearest town and going up to Yosemite was about an hour away taking 140 freeway, I would say it would be the safest route you can take to go to Yosemite, so if you're planning on going I totally recommend staying here.

The property was as described and the place was peaceful and relaxing. Bedding in the twin room could use an upgrade as we had adults sleeping there. We used it as a base for visiting Yosemite, howevere the ride to the park took much longer than expected (about 2 hours each way). It was a major drawback to the stay such that we left one day early due to the drive, especially on the twisting roads at night.

Really enjoyed our stay. Place was super clean and just as described. Mike was super helpful and even provided a bag of charcoal for the grill. We could not get the telescope to work, but it was still amazing to see the stars with no light pollution.

We have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals and Michael is running on of the very best. Every thing we could have possibly expected was there and excellent quality. Communication, location and cleanliness was of the highest level. Visits to Yosemite’s west or southern entrances was easy. Maybe slow but easy. Wish we had time and energy to use the telescope. Thx Michael.
