The farmhouse was exactly as described in the listing. The property was secluded and great for bondfires, which we did on 3 of our 5 nights. The location was good, we covered alot of ground on our stay visiting 8 distilleries and both Keeneland Race Course for closing day of the spring meet and Churchill Downs for opening night of Derby week. Thanks to Emmitt and Garlaine for sharing the KenTex ranch with us! Dave

This property and house are just magical- more than enough room for 4 couples- the property was so relaxing- watching the deer and turkeys and an occasional wandering dog! Got to catch up around the fire pit almost ever night!

Emmett & Garlaine's family farm was a welcome respite after touring distilleries each day. We found everything we needed for our extended family of 8 with comfortable beds, furnishings, and well stocked kitchen. Although we had quite a bit of rain and cool weather during our 5 night stay, we managed a few walks and some outdoor leisure. We appreciated learning some of the family history from our conversations with Emmett and he made it feel like we were visiting a friend's home. He was also very helpful with directions and hiking trails. We found the house to be clean and spacious for our 8 adults ranging in age from 24 to 82, with space to be together or find a quiet spot to relax. We appreciated the extras stocked in the house like paper towels, spices, grills, soap, shampoo, etc. Our only wish is that we could have stayed longer! We will be back! Thanks for sharing it with us!

3 couples, 6 adults, stayed at this house. We had a wonderful trip. The owners are very nice, responsive, and helpful. We would have loved to meet them but we were gone from early morning to evening for our distillery tours and dinners so it didn’t work out. The house was as described with ample room for all 3 couples to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee maker, fridge and supplies. We brought our own paper plates and napkins. The porches are lovely offering beautiful views of Themis rise and sunset. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch watching the deer at the feeder and enjoyed the porch at night as well. Wood was available for the fire pit where the guys built a fire one night. The location worked perfectly. We were very close to Lawrenceburg for supply runs or take out one evening. Bardstown was nearby which was perfect for visits to Evergreen Liquor, distilleries, and restaurants. We visited a lot of distilleries in different areas and the drives were lovely and never seemed overly long. We all enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay at this house for our next visit to Kentucky.

This was our second time staying at KenTex Farms. The house is spacious and nicely decorated. The star of the experience is the outside space, featuring acres of land and feeders that attract deer, turkeys and others. The location is convenient to visit distilleries. Most of the distilleries near Lexington and Frankfort are within 30 minutes. Those down near Bardstown and in Louisville are closer to 45 minutes, but if you plan visits geographically you can see everything in one area each day. We will be back for a third time!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely peaceful home! Garlaine and Emmet were extremely helpful from the check in and throughout the entire stay. The rolling hill Kentucky views were breathtaking, from the beginning of the day, sunrises to sunset. Blessed with daily deer visits throughout the day, and some surprise Turkey sightings. The home was very comfy with plenty of room for 5 couples, played games (included) in the evening, with an occasional gathering around the outdoor fire pit. A great get away that worked perfect for the Bourbon Trail, accessible to Frankfort, Lexington, Bardstown and Louisville. Thank you so much for offering your home as a vacation rental! It provided instant vacation for us. We can’t wait to come back!

My kids and I stayed enjoyed our stay. The property was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the wildlife in the mornings and evenings. It is very peaceful there. The house was perfect for us, It is perfect for a large family. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed a couple of game nights,one on the beautiful porch and one in the beautiful house. We were lucky enough to meet the owner. He told us the history of the property. That might have been my favorite part. I highly recommend this property. We will definitely go back.

This house has five bedrooms and six beds all queen size or larger. Five guys all retired, headed down to the Bourbon Trail to play some golf and enjoy the bourbon. We were absolutely pleased with the home the surroundings around the home, the check in, the cleanliness of the home, and just overall the beauty of the property. I don’t think the pictures do it justice. Be it for a large family or whatever, this is the place to go. For five guys that want their own bedroom it was perfect.

Beautiful facility amid the Kentucky hills. Strategically situated on a ridge with a great view of the surrounding countryside.Loved seeing the deer and wild turkeys every day. Even saw two bobcats bounding through the fields one day. Very convenient to the Bourbon Trail, Lexington, Louisville and other Kentucky places of interest. One of the best features was the attention to detail and the owners desire and efforts to make our time there enjoyable. And it was. Would love to go back again.

We loved the property. Emmet was a gracious host, giving us details about the property and check in process. The property had 5 bedrooms and 4 baths, which was great for a guys trip on the Bourbon Trail. We saw lots of wildlife while drinking morning coffee, plenty of deer and some raccoons. Had a great time on the back porch enjoying bourbon and relaxing with an amazing view.

Loads of room for our family of 8 - 2 full levels of space to enjoy. In the middle of an extreme heatwave we were able to stay cool and happy in the home. Plenty of amenities to enjoy.There were a full complement of brochures from local attractions, and perhaps the best (and most unusual) benefit of this home is that the owners were available both by phone and email to answer any questions or concerns. If we were to be in the area again this would definitely be a top pick.

This is the second year we have stayed in the home for a guy's bourbon trail weekend. It's a great spot that is close to several distilleries, while being out in the country. Our group had a great time, enjoyed the morning workouts around the farm, sunrises, the evening fires and sunsets. Emmet is super welcoming and answered any questions we had.

Emmett & Garlaine's family farm was a welcome respite after touring distilleries each day. We found everything we needed for our extended family of 8 with comfortable beds, furnishings, and well stocked kitchen. Although we had quite a bit of rain and cool weather during our 5 night stay, we managed a few walks and some outdoor leisure. We appreciated learning some of the family history from our conversations with Emmett and he made it feel like we were visiting a friend's home. He was also very helpful with directions and hiking trails. We found the house to be clean and spacious for our 8 adults ranging in age from 24 to 82, with space to be together or find a quiet spot to relax. We appreciated the extras stocked in the house like paper towels, spices, grills, soap, shampoo, etc. Our only wish is that we could have stayed longer! We will be back! Thanks for sharing it with us!

3 couples, 6 adults, stayed at this house. We had a wonderful trip. The owners are very nice, responsive, and helpful. We would have loved to meet them but we were gone from early morning to evening for our distillery tours and dinners so it didn’t work out. The house was as described with ample room for all 3 couples to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee maker, fridge and supplies. We brought our own paper plates and napkins. The porches are lovely offering beautiful views of Themis rise and sunset. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch watching the deer at the feeder and enjoyed the porch at night as well. Wood was available for the fire pit where the guys built a fire one night. The location worked perfectly. We were very close to Lawrenceburg for supply runs or take out one evening. Bardstown was nearby which was perfect for visits to Evergreen Liquor, distilleries, and restaurants. We visited a lot of distilleries in different areas and the drives were lovely and never seemed overly long. We all enjoyed our stay and would be happy to stay at this house for our next visit to Kentucky.

The Owner was very responsive and helpful. Home is sitting on a hill where you have view all round you. Both deer and Turkey are visible from the back porch twice daily. We had everything we needed.

Visiting KY for some bourbon. Five friends that need a little space. This farm property was perfect for our group. Plenty of room and nice accommodations. The owner personally called to provide good directions and instructions for our stay. This property is off the beaten path, but worth a few extra miles to get there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely peaceful home! Garlaine and Emmet were extremely helpful from the check in and throughout the entire stay. The rolling hill Kentucky views were breathtaking, from the beginning of the day, sunrises to sunset. Blessed with daily deer visits throughout the day, and some surprise Turkey sightings. The home was very comfy with plenty of room for 5 couples, played games (included) in the evening, with an occasional gathering around the outdoor fire pit. A great get away that worked perfect for the Bourbon Trail, accessible to Frankfort, Lexington, Bardstown and Louisville. Thank you so much for offering your home as a vacation rental! It provided instant vacation for us. We can’t wait to come back!

This location was perfect - centrally located, beautiful acreage for walks and strolls, large spacious home, comfortable, and clean. Lots of deer and turkey; ie, as advertised. Beautiful facility amid the Kentucky hills. Strategically situated on a ridge with a great view of the surrounding countryside.Loved seeing the deer and wild turkeys every day. Even saw two bobcats bounding through the fields one day. Very convenient to the Bourbon Trail, Lexington, Louisville and other Kentucky places of interest. One of the best features was the attention to detail and the owners desire and efforts to make our time there enjoyable. And it was. Would love to go back again.

This was our second time staying at KenTex Farms. The house is spacious and nicely decorated. The star of the experience is the outside space, featuring acres of land and feeders that attract deer, turkeys and others. The location is convenient to visit distilleries. Most of the distilleries near Lexington and Frankfort are within 30 minutes. Those down near Bardstown and in Louisville are closer to 45 minutes, but if you plan visits geographically you can see everything in one area each day. We will be back for a third time!

What a peaceful bucolic setting. The expansive porch overlooks a rolling field where deer and turkey are in abundance. Interior spaces are well appointed with plenty of room. The kitchen has every thing you and they have two kitchens. Best of all, it is in the middle of Kentucky Bourbon Country and innumerable thoroughbred farms. Respite is its name.

My kids and I stayed enjoyed our stay. The property was beautiful. We enjoyed watching the wildlife in the mornings and evenings. It is very peaceful there. The house was perfect for us, It is perfect for a large family. It had everything we needed. We enjoyed a couple of game nights,one on the beautiful porch and one in the beautiful house. We were lucky enough to meet the owner. He told us the history of the property. That might have been my favorite part. I highly recommend this property. We will definitely go back.
